Ambos autores fueron poseedores, en sus respectivas lenguas, de una narrativa y capacidad de invención destacables, pero a diferencia de otros autores con cualidades similares, sus obras tenían un carácter universal y atemporal.\n\nEl carácter universal de Shakespeare y Cervantes estriba en el elemento humano de sus obras y la empatía que producen en sus lectores.
