En condiciones normales el jabón suele cristalizar de forma amorfa, es decir, desordenadamente. Es la disposición de este tipo de cristales la que proporciona opacidad al jabón. Hay otras formas de cristalización que dan un resultado transparente y esas son las que nos interesan.\n\nHay ingredientes que favorecen este tipo de cristalización. Principalmente los alcoholes. Por su precio, se dejó de utilizar el alcohol en beneficio de la glicerina que a los jaboneros de la época les salía más barata. De ahí viene la denominación de jabón de glicerina. También hay que tener en cuenta los ingredientes de carga. Se denomina carga a aquellos elementos que sirven para dar mayor rendimiento al aceite y esto quiere decir que con la misma cantidad de aceite salga mayor cantidad de jabón. Algunos elementos de carga, como el almidón, el talco, la arcilla, etc., producen también opacidad pero algunos como el azúcar o la sosa pesada (carbonato sódico hidratado) no solo no producen opacidad sino que favorecen la transparencia.\n\nTeniendo esto en cuenta se comprenderá mejor para qué sirven los ingredientes de la fórmula que decía de que se parte.\n\nLa realización de este jabón requiere un poco más de experiencia por parte de quien lo hace. Por ello es conveniente haberse iniciado antes en la elaboración de jabón en frío y en el proceso en caliente. Además el uso de disolventes (como el alcohol) entraña peligros adicionales. No es recomendable la elaboración de este jabón por parte de menores y por supuesto no me hago responsable del mal uso que le deis a esta información. En cualquier\ncaso dadle siempre un repasito a las normas básicas de seguridad. \n\nElaboración de la base de jabón de glicerina La receta de partida es la siguiente (vamos a elaborar 1 kg):\n\n\n\n-Aceite de coco …… 20% (200gr)\n-Aceite de ricino …… 10% (100gr)\n-Ácido esteárico …… 10% (100gr)\n-Sosa cáustica … 5%(50gr)\n-diluida en Agua …………… 10% (100gr)\n-Azúcar ………… 20% (200gr)\n-diluida en Agua ………… 10% (100gr)\n-Alcohol 96º ……… 15% (150gr)\n\nEl jabón de coco proporciona la espuma, el de ricino mejora la transparencia y el ácido esteárico proporciona dureza (en este caso es fundamental para que tenga consistencia). El azúcar proporciona transparencia y consistencia y el alcohol transparencia. El proceso es en caliente, mezclando los aceites previamente derretidos, con la lejía previamente mezclada. Por las características del ácido esteárico, la saponificación es inmediata. La masa solidifica mucho de golpe pero no hay que desesperar y remover hasta que sea homogénea y semilíquida. La olla conviene que tenga una altura suficiente para prevenir la posible subida de la masa que puede llegar a hervir por la velocidad del proceso de saponificación del esteárico.\n\n Una vez que todo está bien homogéneo se mete en el horno (entre 80 y 90ºC) durante 2 horas para conseguir la saponificación total de las grasas. Ésta se verificará mediante la prueba de pH, bien con fenolftaleina, con tiras o con la lengua. Cuando esté completada la saponificación se añadirá a una temperatura de 60ºC el jarabe previamente realizado con el azúcar y el agua hasta su completa homogenización lo que da al jabón un aspecto y consistencia más plásticos.Por último hay que añadir (evitando los vapores y lejos de cualquier llama) poco a poco el alcohol. Esto hace que la masa se vuelva completamente transparente y muy, muy líquida. Casi como agua, que nadie se preocupe. Yo a veces uso la batidora a velocidad muy lenta para completar la mezcla.\n\nEl resultado hay que colarlo por los posibles restos de jabón no disuelto y verterlo en un molde a ser posible que se pueda tapar dejándolo reposar hasta que se enfríe completamente. Ya debe de estar realizada nuestra base de glicerina.
