      "body": "Hello again! Today I'd like to discuss a little bit about VISUALIZATION. Seeing something in your MIND and then having THAT scenario playing out in your LIFE. An event I recently experienced just BLEW MY MIND and so I felt it a good idea to touch upon it. It happened out of the blue and maybe, just maybe, it wasn't a coincidence. And we were going up against some real organizations. The heart-string pullers! Breast Cancer Society and Driscoll Children's Hospital to name a few. Tough, tough competition. Each contestant would do this, and then after the event, they would tally the donations and crown a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. After she discussed with me what the night was going to be like, I envisioned the event. In my mind, I could see a stage and like a walk-way. Something like what models walk on out into the audience? I could see my wife on stage and I was sitting to the right of the stage right next to the runway. Every time I imagined the event, that was my perspective. Typically we just buy tickets and go to the event but this was a bit different. This was my WIFE's event. So I said, look, if you want a table go ahead and get it and I'll take care of it. If not, we'll just get a couple of tickets. Whatever you want, babe. \nEventually, my wife told me she decided it best to get the table and off we went. So we get to the location, sign in, and head to our table. And what do you know? We had a table in front of the stage to the right of the runway!!! Holy moley!!! I could not believe it. What I saw in my head was EXACTLY what I had envisioned. It was just such a weird situation. I didn't pick the table. My wife didn't pick the table. The EVENT COORDINATOR picked the table. And for some reason they picked the exact table in the exact location I picked in my BRAIN. Wow. Think about making those high grades, about what it takes to GET those grades, how it'll FEEL when you receive those grades, and then go out and DO IT. Or how about squatting that personal best, or making that perfect dive, or winning that race, or asking that pretty girl out...or WHATEVER. If you can dream it and feel it, you can do it. You can do practically anything that you put your MIND to. And then you can have your BODY do it! Visualize success. Visualize money. Or cars, or houses, or girls, or muscles, or whatever AND visualize what it takes to get there and then EXECUTE. \nSo Conor McGregor is my favorite fighter, right? And he just signed to fight Mayweather. \n\nNow Conor has been KNOWN to PREDICT THE FUTURE. What ROUND he's knocking someone out in. How many BELTS he's going to have. How much MONEY he's going to make. And the list goes on and on. That all starts in the HEAD. HIS head. And what do you know, he GETS IT DONE. After the grueling work and preparation, of course. But he gets it done.       "body": "Alright, we have an easy post here today. I thought it might be a good idea to let you get to know ME a little bit. So you know I'm not some retard talking nonsense. That maybe I have a few experiences, that I've been a few places and have a little know-how when I spit this fire!\n\nSo yes, my name is Rene but I go by \"Bo\" and have been since I was a baby. I am the oldest of 3 siblings and those siblings have been able to capitalize off of MY mistakes. Mostly college choice. One of these days we'll get to THAT situation. I am a big Dallas Cowboys fan BUT I'm a bigger UFC fan. My favorite fighter is Conor McGregor. I actually got to see him fight Chad Mendes in Las Vegas. It was pretty awesome. Hoping to see him versus Mayweather.       "title": "Create a TO-DO LIST and GET. THINGS. DONE.",
      "body": "Write things down. Yes, we have all heard it. Write things down. Yes, we get it. Calm down. I got it all in my head. I'm good!\n\nNo. You are NOT good. You can barely remember what you had for breakfast yesterday!!! WRITE. IT. DOWN.\n\nTo-do lists. I have a love/hate relationship with them. I love to use them but I hate that they just keep getting longer and longer even after I cross out each action!!! Jesus, will it ever stop?!?!? Well, no, it will never stop and that's kind of the point. Your work is never done. But, each step to your goal is being accomplished one-by-one and that's a GOOD thing. Heck, it's a GREAT thing. \n\nWhat the heck IS a to-do list, you might ask? I mean it's pretty self explanatory but hey, maybe you're the NEW guy. A to-do list is a list of things you want accomplished for that day, that week, month, or year. Simple: to keep you on track. To help keep you moving towards getting things done effectively and efficiently. I know my day comes with so many distractions and meetings and ideas and clients and faxes and emails and calls and all sorts of things that can derail me from my mission that day but my list keeps me FOCUSED. Easy. Write out a list of things you need to do that particular day, week, month, or year. And then get them done. One acton at a time. Once completed, cross it out. Now THAT's a good feeling. And it's SO good that it will motivate you to cross out all the rest of the actions needed to complete your day.\n\nI start thinking of my list the day before. I will then text message myself that night so I don't forget. As I said earlier, my memory is pretty bad so this way, texting myself, I can get a better handle on what I need done. Then when I hit the office, I start writing down my list on a big yellow notepad. Then the FUN begins. It is now hunting season and I'm HUNGARY!!!  \n\nI used to-do lists years ago but my days were so similar that I hadn't utilized them in quite some time. I recently started again and my production and efficiency has more than doubled.       "body": "Hello again and welcome back to my blog. This week I had to wait until Tuesday to complete this entry because yesterday, Monday, I was still in Utopia, Texas for Memorial Day Weekend with my family.\n\nAnd that's what this post is about: Family. Family is FIRST. All else is secondary.\n\n![download_large.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTqAcDxyjUKy3VAAXnMFpKVqLZUsmC8BcHMDdiJtnWuVZ/download_large.png)\n\nOkay, so a little about MY family. I come from a traditional family where my father provides and my mother cares. Both jobs EQUALLY important and both jobs absolutely necessary. I myself am lucky enough to participate in a traditional family. That model, I believe, is the most successful for raising successful children. And when you have children, that's the focus.  \n\nOkay, so my father is a dentist. I am an attorney. My younger brother, not pictured, is also a dentist. My sister has a Master's Degree and my youngest brother is in dental school. My father is the first generation, I am part of the second generation alongside my brothers and sister, while my kids are third generation Velas.    \n\nNow my father has 2 brothers that are also doctors. And they have kids that have become doctors, dentists, and lawyers as well. Like 3 dentists, 2 doctors, and 2 more lawyers with another one just getting into law school. SHEESH. My kids have NO IDEA the pressure they are under ; )  \n\nSo my wife has asked me in the past \"why/how is your family so successful?\" And my response probably was a surprise to her. I told her that \"I believe our family is successful because our parents put family first.\" My father is still married to our mother and my uncle is still married to HIS wife. Now my other uncle not so much but I believe he STILL put his family first, as best he could. And I have 2 other uncles that were successful in their own right as well as children but for purposes here, I am referencing those that went to professional school. \n\nI believe FAMILY is the absolute bedrock, the FOUNDATION, to building success. Without it, your structure, any structure will be weaker. Like building a house, the first and most important aspect is the foundation. Screw that up and you are DOOMED. Show me a successful person and I bet their family is solid. Now of course there are exceptions to the general rule but generally, success starts at home.\n\n![foundations_large.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTA9fBHMDcWbVUfuPRtyqePsmeUHngEXWa6FWv5YrSGfG/foundations_large.jpg)\n\nSo what do YOU care? How does this help YOU? I don't know. Maybe take some time to thank your mother or father for being there. Maybe understand that they are absolutely essential to any success you may want in the future. Maybe ask them for advice or spend some quality time together. Grab a bite and just \"be.\" Your friends will come and go, but your dad will ALWAYS be your dad. Or you brother, or sister, or cousin or WHOMEVER! Take some time to just appreciate that. Together, you can accomplish such great things. \n\nAnd for YOU, the father or mother who might be reading this. I know relationships are hard. Hell, they are outright freaking TERRIBLE at times. I know, I'm married. Jesus it's difficult. Very. Very. Difficult. But that's TOO BAD. If you have kids, it's just TOO DAMN BAD. Your job, now, as a parent is to give your child the VERY BEST opportunity to succeed. And I believe the foundation to that future success is TO MAKE IT WORK with your spouse or partner. It is no longer about YOU. Sorry, that time is OVER. Gone. Forever. It was fun while it lasted but it lasts no more. Your legacy, your child's future, rests in YOUR hands. Success is not easy. If it were, everyone would be doing it. But they're not. But YOU can succeed. And it starts at home. So make sure to do your best to get along with your spouse. Your children notice it, they notice EVERYTHING. There will be a ton of 'give' and 'take' and maybe more 'give' then 'take,' but hey, so be it.       "body": "So life is unfair. Yes. We have established that. Life will ALWAYS be unfair. And chances are, it has been unfair to YOU. In some way, in some manner it has been unfair. I don't know your life but I'd imagine some parts of it are just plain UNFAIR. You live in a terrible neighborhood with bad schools and bad neighbors. You don't have a mother. Or your father is in jail. You're overweight or can't read well. You don't have nice clothes. Who knows? I don't know the specifics but I'm sure something about your life is unfair.\n\nWell, that's the bad news. But there is no bad news without good news, now is there? The good news is that your situation, your circumstances are merely a starting point. The first step towards a better future. A nicer neighborhood. A family where BOTH mother and father live under the same roof. Newer clothes. A well-stocked library. A dairy farm. In Realitos, Texas. Now I challenge you to even FIND that place. He milked cows at 4:00 am. Every day. School days, holidays, summer days. Every. Day. As you could probably guess, it was terrible. It's difficult for me to describe the place. It was a ranch on a several acres. Lots of cows. Their house had no central heat and air. Only a few rooms had a window ac unit. The floors were dirty. With dirt from outside. Never really gets clean. Furniture as old as the dirt. TV maybe had a few channels. No remote. No video games. No fresh food. Government provided some food for his family. Staples such as butter and peanut butter and bread and cheese and imitation ice cream. And the rats. Tons and tons of rats. When we would visit, we could hear them scratching the walls at night. Sheesh. Creepy. Oh, and they were HUGE. Like small dogs. His parents made no money and, looking at this situation objectively, there's no reason to believe life was going to get any better. But his mother was OBSESSED with her sons succeeding. Every day and night she HAMMERED them to study, to learn, to get better, to DO better then THEY did. And they listened. They hated it, but they obliged. They did as she DEMANDED. And from that dairy farm, 3 out of the 5 sons became doctors. You can take that unfair situation and let it MOTIVATE you to get to the NEXT level. If my father from a cow farm can do it, then certainly YOU can do it. I mean, why not? He grew up DIRT poor. Well, it's wherever you want it to be. More importantly, it's about where you want your FAMILY to be. I mean, I'd imagine we all want to have a family someday, maybe start a legacy, have a child or two or three. Well, your finish line is going to be your child's STARTING line. So you have to keep that in mind.\n\nMaybe your finish line is to be the first person in your family to graduate college. Maybe it's to own your own home. Maybe it's to start a successful business. Maybe it's to acquire 10 rental properties. Maybe it's a sports car you want. I don't know what your goals are but that's the finish line. Your goals. So you might want to spend a few hours, days, weeks, trying to figure that out. Many of you, hell, the majority of you are situated BEHIND the starting line. Let's say the race is 100 yards. The starting line SHOULD start at the zero mark and the finish at the 100 mark. Well, the majority of our youth start at the NEGATIVE 10 yard mark or worse. Meaning, they start the race BEHIND everyone else.\n\nI was lucky. Very lucky. I started the race at about the 75 yard mark. My father is a dentist, is still married to my mother, and spent all his efforts directing me towards education. As another example, President Trump's kids started at the 200 yard mark meaning they finished the race and then some at the time of their BIRTH!!!  \n\nBut the majority of you, our youth, our kids that are our future, start BEHIND the starting line. Like the antelope, you are going to have to learn to RUN FASTER. But guess what? That antelope CAN run faster. And so can YOU.\n\nSo let's say you are one of these kids who wasn't given a fair shake at life. Life is just not fair to you. Maybe you live in a broken home. Maybe you don't have all the resources the other kids have. Maybe you don't have enough money for school clothes. I understand these things suck. I get it. There was a time when I lived in a trailer home growing up and we ate syrup sandwiches to get by. Times can be tough. Times ARE tough. But tough times do not last. TOUGH PEOPLE DO. Understand that these circumstances, these bad circumstances can build you into anything. That they make you TOUGH, make you appreciative and grateful for the things you DO have. This position can be a positive and not a negative.\n\nThis position in life is merely a stepping stone to something better.       "body": "Alright, today's a big day. I don't know what a blog is or how it's done but who cares? I'm a father of 4 beautiful children and a husband to my gorgeous wife. I provide for my family by practicing law. My firm works in personal injury as well as criminal defense. I've been an attorney for 12 years now.\n\nI come from a very successful family and have been blessed myself with many successes both professionally and personally. And one of the reasons my family has been successful is the fact that we make a very concentrated effort on giving back to our community. I personally participate in the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) program. I had a little brother from his freshmen year in high school up and until now, as a firefighter working in Beaumont, Texas. That believe the light at the end of the tunnel is not success but rather an approaching train.  \n\nI want those kids to succeed. I want those kids to understand that they, too, are champions. That they, too, can make their life better. To create the reality they want to create. I believe that my time, my guidance, my efforts to push him towards his goals put him in a place where he will find success. I hope one day he can confirm that himself but, man, he didn't have a clue. And I truly believe that I helped him get to a spot where he can WIN. Where he can SUCCEED. Where he can be PROUD.\n\nAnd I think I can help others. But unlike BBBS where I can only help one person at a time on their schedule, I think I can help HUNDREDS at a time, on MY schedule. I'm going to pick a topic that I think would help a young person and explain to them my advice, my experiences so to help guide them to a better way. So any ideas would be awesome.   \n\nAt the end of the day, this project serves 2 purposes: to help provide for my family and to help others get to a place where they can provide for theirs.
