Prácticamente fue el gran líder militar durante casi todas las batallas importantes. Como estratega nadie podía igualarlo.   Incluso diseño la estrategia militar que se empleó durante la Batalla de Carabobo a pesar de que se encontraba fuera de Venezuela. \n\nSu tratado de paz para acabar con la grotesca idea del Decreto de guerra a muerte fue el primer tratado humanista de ese tipo en la historia de la humanidad. Incluso sirvió de base para el tratado de paz de la primera guerra mundial.\nSucre es el principal responsable del éxito de la independencia y no se le reconoce como tal. Miranda fue el gran creador de la idea y Sucre fue el ejecutor. \nCon el paso de los años la arbitrariedad histórica de los hermanos Monagas y el fanatismo de Juan Vicente Gómez instauraron el culto a Bolívar en Venezuela, y desde entonces no se reconocen los méritos de los grandes y verdaderos Libertadores en el país.
