Our aim is to coordinate and promote research into cryptozoology, mystery animals, out-of-place animals, zooform and zoomorphic phenomena, folkloric animal archetypes and rare, unusual and aberrant animal behaviour.\n\n'On The Track' is a monthly WebTV show, written and presented by Jon Downes and Charlotte Phillipson from the Centre for Fortean Zoology. Jon first started the show nearly 10 years ago after reading about Rachel Fuller’s WebTV show, ‘In The Attic’, where she, her boyfriend Pete, and various of his friends broadcast music and chat - literally from their attic!  As ‘Pete’ happens to be the guitarist for one of the greatest British rock bands of all time, his ‘friends’ have tended to be very impressive media characters. In a similar way to when Jon first heard Pete Townshend’s music and thought “I wanna do that,” reading about their broadcasts made him decide to do one of his own. \n\nHowever, as Jon’s household has always been a mixture of family and an ever-shifting population of friends, relatives and collaborators from across the world, he decided to try to involve as many of them as possible. \n\nAnd because he has a very surreal outlook upon the world, and is still a seventeen-year-old hooligan guitar slinger at heart, there is a fair dollop of crazy humour and even some good old rock 'n' roll on occasions. \n\nWe hope you enjoy the show as much as the team enjoy making it. However, there are all sorts of things we want to do, that - at the moment - we simply cannot afford to, because we lack the equipment, manpower, or money. \n\nAnd this is where you come in! \n\nOur friend Louis was kind enough to set this page up for us (and we cannot thank him sufficiently, because we would never have done it without him).       "body": "And so we come to the end of another week. And – as per bloody usual – it has been a week jam-packed with jollity and… ummm not so jollity. \n\nMy dear Olivia was not very well earlier in the week, which is why I am sitting in her amanuensis chair taking dictations on this jolly Friday morning. Our Lady Selene is high in the sky at the moment, which means that there is not much to choose between me and the orange cat for functional life skills, but one does ones best to carry on.\n\nOne piece of sad, but not altogether unexpected, news is that when Graham went to feed the birds in the top aviary yesterday, he found the cock Lady Amherst’s pheasant, who had been living there for the past ten years, dead in his shelter. He was very old, having bucked the trend for pheasant longevity by several years, and had been getting more and more decrepit over the last 12 months. However, I am very glad that he died in his own house. Rather than spending his final hours crammed into a cat basket and driven down a bumpy road to Bradworthy, having to sit in a crowded waiting room in which the other animals – mostly dogs and cats – would be giving off sounds and smells; undoubtedly terrifying for him, before being taken into a room that smells of chemicals and given a lethal injection.\n\nhttps://steemitimages.com/DQmTNXnBt8XEiNTTbZcS37pdjXpuR3QeSDvWwenr2fuwoMf/image.png\n\nHe was a bad tempered bugger, especially towards visiting males of any species. And especially in the breeding season, he would get very aggressive towards Graham when he went in to feed him or clean the aviary out. In the end he resorted to carrying a broom with which to fend him off. However, when it came to the female of the human race, it was an entirely different story. Any girl or woman of child bearing age who walked past the aviary during the pheasant breeding season would be rewarded by an impressive display of strutting and cooing, as the pheasant marched up and down with his chest out, obviously doing his best to persuade the female visitor to be the mother of the chicks.       "body": "Last week, my friend, colleague and regularly Gonzo weekly contributor Mr Biffo released his 17 minute epic movie The Trojan Arse Project, Project, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AegZz2NxjOc which is the tumultuous climax to his massively entertaining, and highly recommended, webTV show, Mr Biffo’s Found Footage. It wasn’t quite as good as episode 4 (which had me in it), if only for one reason (it didn’t have me in it) and millions mourned. But it was hugely entertaining, and amongst other things put me in the mood to stretch my cinematic wings a little further than they had ever been stretched before.\n\nSome years ago, I invested the takings from a particularly successful Weird Weekend in a large, professional green screen set up, so that I could use it on CFZ videos. And, embarrassingly, apart from a stupid video featuring Graham as David Cameron, and a pair of dancing badgers, I have never used it. But this week, all that changed!\n\nI am really getting quite ambitious with our monthly webTV show.
