      "body": "![](https://steemitimages.com/DQmWKoAbdFG9GBsXdGTc4s7nvepmkpyssmLX7ZrYjEY6ueC/image.png)\n\nOn Tuesday, the US SEC - Securities Exchange Commission, stated that ICOs \"should\" be subject to the same safeguards required in traditional securities sales.\n\nWhat does this mean for Investors?\n\nIn the shorter term, this will likely push companies that are looking to ICO \"offshore.\" Companies will issue tokens/coins to non-US based investors and still raise capital as they have been in recent months. For an investor, you would likely not be able to participate in ICOs however, like the IPO market in the US, you can acquire token/coin on an exchange once it is trading.\n\nWhat does this mean for Issuers?\n\nIssuers are likely to only issue token/coin to non-US based investors in the short term so as to not worry about aligning their ICO with US based IPO rules. If you have a company that aligns its ICO with IPO rules/guidelines, you can be assured that the company is at least appearing to have more legitimacy than others who refuse to comply. \n\nDoes this mean that only ICOs that are aligned with IPO rules are good/safe investments?\n\nNo. \n\nAny ICO can be a scam, poor investment, poor idea, etc. Aligning with US IPO rules would give an ICO an air of legitimacy however, the project can still be horrendous and fail.\n\nWhy does this matter?\n\nWhen the US Regulators get involved in any process, they are trying to bring investor protection to the forefront. Retail investors should always do massive amounts of research before entering into any investment and this is even more true in the crypto/ICO space as the coins and companies are highly volatile. \n\nThis signalling from the SEC could mean that they are warning companies doing ICOs that they are in the SEC's cross-hairs so while they arent in the space now, at any moment they can pull the trigger.\n\n\nEoY Calls\n\nBTC - 5000\n\nETH - 500\n\nLTC - 100\n\nI hope you enjoy my morning thoughts and find them useful. I don't think the fork will hurt is in the short term and I don't think Bitcoin cash's mission will hurt Bitcoin longterm. These are two separate projects with two separate visions. Ultimately, like the free market has always done, winners will be chosen and the best assets will rise to the top. I look forward to Aug 1 so this issue can settle down and we can start a period of \"post-fork\" pricing.\n\nBitcoin\n\nBitcoin traded down yesterday to 2400 and recovered handily overnight. Asia loves the crypto markets because it protects their fiat holdings from confiscation and devaluation. I see BTC breaking out some today and restablishing the 2600-2750 range by weeks end. After Aug 1, we should see the all time highs tested and broken through. I would establish longs under 2600 because, while BTC is volatile, if it breaks out above 3K, we may not see 2600 for a very long time.\n\n\nEthereum\n\nMy favorite platform/asset has been in a rut recently due to the ICO selloffs, Aug 1, and it's ridiculous attachment to the price of BTC. For now and until more companies adopt dapps off he platform, the price may trade in the 200-250 range. The road to 250 is going to be tough as there is resistance at 205, 212, 235 that will hold the price down until the bulls return. Right now is a great time to open up long positions at or under 205.\n\nLitecoin\n\nMr. Rock solid continued it's full range and has shown no sign of breakout. It has been a safe haven through the prior month's volatility but, will investors pull out and move back into BTC and ETH after Aug 1? This is something I've been thinking about very much the last few days and has dampened my EoY prospects for LTC. I caution Entry here and would wait until we see the post Aug 1 price action. Will a rising tide (BTC price action up) raise LTC along with it? Alongside of the big 3, I've now put  action on XRP (ripple - financial institution settlements [5.4 trillion in settlements a DAY]), XEL (elastic - supercomputer that eliminates all menial tasks from daily life [stronger than golem]), CVC (civic - universal decentralized ID), and of course SIA (siacoin - cloud storage, far cheaper Han Amazon web services). I have not followed these markets closely enough to talk about price action to date but hope to incorporate these alts into my morning thoughts. I advise caution here rather than aggression. BTC, ETH, and LTC all traded in relatively tight zones. After breaking out from their recent lows, they've all had trouble taking legs up which can mean investors are being cautious after they saw their favored coins vale cut in half or we are establishing true levels before making moves up. Asia kept the markets down at around yesterday's lows so today can see a breakout moment or deeper decline.\n\nBitcoin\n\nTo say it bluntly, BTC took a kick in the stomach yesterday. Some called it a bloodbath but that's absurd. The wind was knocked out of the recent rally's sails but, after a $1000 gain, some pullback and consolidation is expected. BTC seems to have been getting stuck at the 2600 levels. That gives you a good $100 spread to play with if you're a day trader. I think for each investor day or hodl'er, opening up long positions under 2500 would net you greatly over the coming day and weeks. We could see BTC test down toward 2400 support levels so caution is advised.\n\nEthereum\n\nFor those of us that believe ETH is the future, it's value hasn't been following suit in recent week. After hitting a low of 130, we saw it SnapBack to the 250s before retracing back to 200. I'm seeing really strong support between 200-190 over the last day so my position still stands that anythingbjnder 200 is a good place to open up new longs. I want to point out that after snapping back both BTC and ETH retraced 50%. I think they are both oversold here but still can test downward before another rebound.\n\nLitecoin -\n\nStrength and stability. Those two words have defined the more nimble little brother of BTC. Litecoin traded down toward 40 yesterday before coming back to 42 as of the time of this writing. Not much excitement in this coin, sometimes that's good. I wouldn't call LTC a store of value but, it might be a good place to park cash if you're unsure of your allocation going forward. It's an option, not a great one, but through the ups and downs, we've seen this coin in the tightest range recently so it might not be my strategy but it seems viable. Bitcoin, Ethereum & Litecoin are all down between 6-10% respectively. Today seems like a good day to move some of your holdings to cash and wait for a good re-entry point. I suspect we should see good amounts of profit taking today and see the opportunity to scalp some money off of your holdings to re-invest. If you decide to sell, pick your re-entry point and stick with it.....worse case scenario is you have cash on the sidelines for a bit. The volatility these markets see ensures that a reasonable re-entry price is bound to be met.\n\nBitcoin \n\nAfter spending the day in the 2700's yesterday, at the time of this writing we see our favored asset trading in the 2500's. The asset is still up from its lows of 1750 but is showing some weakness as the day traders take profits off the table and wait out their new entry points. For those of us who are buy and hold types, today presents an opportunity to arbitrage the profit taking and lower our cost basis. I see anything under 2500 as a buying opportunity so I would offload a portion of your holdings and wait for that entry point. If BTC pops, keep the money on the sidelines or, re-invest it in one of the other cryptos.\n\nEthereum\n\nETH has been disappointing as of late. It's lagging behind BTC and seems to not be able to break the 235 resistance levels. It's down around $20 at the time of this writing. As we have seen in recent weeks it has room to go down. If it breaks through 205, it has the chance to slide back down to the 150s. I would open up long positions at anything under 200.\n\nLitecoin -\n\nSell and regroup. I see litecoin getting back into the 30s at which point we can open up some longs. I've been saying all along that below 30 is a buy in this weird period of crypto trading where the assets struggle to breakout.\n\nEoY Calls\n\nBTC - 5000\n\nETH - 500\n\nLTC - 100\n\nI hope you enjoy my morning thoughts and find them useful.
