      "body": "If you've been living under a rock you've probably been following along with what is going on in Texas currently.\n\nIn short, Texas is experiencing some unprecedented levels of extreme weather.\n\nPersonally from watching on social media via Facebook, Mewe & other places... Even a lot of the decently prepared people were not ready for this level of disaster.\n\nIt is extremely unwise to have at least a weeks worth of food in the house at any given time. A lot of this can be canned, dried, etc. Just incase shit hits the fan and you're stuck at home for 3 days.\n\nHowever the unforeseen bit was watching how quickly one extreme weather event can cause virtually a complete collapse in society and billions of dollars in damages.\n\nTexas usually gets things like hurricanes, not snow storms.\n\nWithout the ability to keep warm, you're as good as toast.\n\nThis made me reflect on my own situation and how truly screwed we would be in our own home if power suddenly went out. For the most part my home is off grid except power. And even the rest of the \"off-grid\" ness relies on power.\n\nOur septic requires power, the well requires power, our deep freezes/fridge require power.\n\nAnd if that all went out in a single moment - sure, we have a generator.\n\nBut what if we suddenly had no access to gasoline for the generator? Then what?\n\nIt's really made me do a complete think over of how we are running this acreage and I foresee a lot of changes coming in the near future to truly get this place off grid and not entirely relying on power.\n\nI know this often becomes a problem when it comes to mortgages & insurance cause god forbid you do something the bank doesn't want you to do.\n\nHowever I would ask you this:\n\nIf your power went out for a week and you/your family died because of lack of ability to warm yourself...\n\nWhat would the bank/insurance companies do?\n\nThey would get to keep all the money you paid for your home, clean up your bodies then take the house and sell it to someone else.\n\nThey don't nor will they ever give a fuck about you.       "body": "Yet another two of our elders bite the dust. \n\n> An 88-year-old Israeli died just hours after receiving the coronavirus vaccine on Tuesday, a day after a 75-year-old Israeli died due to a heart attack also shortly after receiving the vaccine.\n\nPosted by the [Jerusalem Post](https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/88-year-old-dies-hours-after-covid-vaccination-in-second-such-incident-653721?fbclid=IwAR2fRg4NUgd8YNzeCB2VNPVHoILqD801h1Ufdk609JNXLp7oTVc8sU08Z74) today, it seems as though the coincidences are just rolling in and no one bats an eye. \n\nAs explained in the article, it appears as though the 88 year old man had a complex history of health problems and the 75 year old has had a history of heart conditions. \n\nNeither of those things were apparently good enough excuses to ***NOT*** vaccinate these individuals, but rather according to science they were the most at risk and needing the needle first.\n\nAs Kelly Moore of the Vaccine Action Coalition explains in this [CNN article](https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/04/health/coronavirus-vaccine-acip-nursing-homes-question/index.html),\n> They are the group of Covid-19 patients with the highest mortality rate, and many of the hospitalizations are people who are from long-term care facilities who contract Covid-19 and are hospitalized. When they get sick, it generates a lot of burden on hospitals.\n\"Those are all very good reasons to vaccinate the residents,\" Moore said.\n\nYes, our elderly are a burden on our healthcare system so the solution instead of giving them ivermectin or vitamin D which have both been shown to be effective at treating the covids...\n\nWe'll just give them a vaccine. \n\nA vaccine that Dr. Moore explains that we should not be concerned about if old people start dropping dead after the vaccine cause it's totally normal.\n\nYes, she really said that and you can read it here: \n\n> \"One of the things we want to make sure people understand is that they should not be unnecessarily alarmed if there are reports, once we start vaccinating, of someone or multiple people dying within a day or two of their vaccination who are residents of a long-term care facility. This quote does not capture the point made by the speaker. The doctor was explaining that deaths among nursing home residents occur frequently and may have nothing to do with them being vaccinated against COVID-19.\n\nNo coincidence here if elderly people get a vaccine and they die within a day or two. It's just a coincidence. Move along folks!       "body": "A little while ago I was sitting in my living room looking over Facebook posts of people talking about Q-anon and these other \"alt-right\" Trump loving racist people acting as though they were in a cult. \n\nYet these same people glorify government, science all the nonsense they entail. \n\nDo these people not realize that when you say things like \"the government wouldn't do that\" and \"the science is settled\" or \"trust the science\" that they're acting very much like a cult themselves?\n\n\n![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/knownassam/u5iKUzq1-image.png)\n\n\nI found an article here from the Tennessean titled [***What makes a cult a cult?***](https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/religion/2016/09/15/what-makes-cult-cult/90377532/?fbclid=IwAR2xh3ClF90ajG23mKLP39u_-GsagDBPRcGTKCTGy46Z4QNBVQmuT2Nh8gE) that does pretty decent job explaining the basics of cults and how to spot one. \n\nNow while this specific article refers to bible belts and the cults that are in those areas, these can pretty much be applied across the board. \n\nLet me show you. \n\n### What is a cult?\n> A cult is a group or movement held together by a shared commitment to a charismatic leader or ideology. It has a belief system that has the answers to all of life’s questions and offers a special solution to be gained only by following the leader’s rules. It requires a high level of commitment from at least some of the members.\n\nPretty interesting start isn't it?\n\nLet me ask you this...\n\nWhat do you see when you look at the television?\nI generally see people like politicians and doctors/scientists who are well spoken speaking about Covid right now and how destroying our livelihoods until we get a vaccine that's gonna save us. If it's not the politicians/doctors/scientists, it's their followers. Lotta commitment there I'd say.\n\nNotice how you hardly ever see anyone with an opposing opinion in the spotlight right now? And if they are they are painted in a rather negative light as a science denier or selfish?\n\nNotice how if subjects such as treatment for Covid come up, the answer is always the vaccine?\n\nInteresting this racket is... isn't it?\n\n### 4 Components of a Cult\n\n(1)  Charismatic Leader\n> The charismatic leader is the originator of the group. Charismatic leaders are people who are great manipulators, they’re charming. They know how to read people. They come along and offer a message that is going to resonate with somebody. Once they get a few followers that’s all they need and then those people go out, recruit more and they build up an aura around the leader.\n\nAs said above, you can generally see these people when you flip on the television. These are the politicians/doctors/scientists that are the \"experts\" and must be listened to. They are generally well spoken people and they speak the same narrative over and over again. Take for example the current associate chief medical officer of health Barbara Yaffe being [caught on video](https://torontosun.com/news/provincial/warmington-top-ontario-doctors-hot-mic-moment-spreading-fast) admitting she's just reading what she's told to read. Calm, charismatic & with a grandmotherly nature; she sits on tv and tells you what and how to think. \n\n(2) Transcendent belief system\n\n> Most religions and even political groups are going to have a transcendent belief system, meaning they’re stating how to get to some better place. But what’s different in cultic groups is they have their way to get you there. It’s what I call the recipe for change. In order to be part of the group, you have to go through a transformational process, which they dictate to you and you can’t be there otherwise. That’s the indoctrination program.\n\n\"Flatten the curve\"\n\"Stop the spread\"\n\"Vaccines save lives\"\n\"Wear a mask\"\n\"Trust the science\"\n\"The science is settled\"\n\"Anti-science\"\n\"Conspiracy theorist\"\n\nI could go on.\n\nI don't know about you, but being someone who pays attention to current events and for the most part... remembers things that happens. Take a moment to think back to 8 months ago when this all started happening. \n\nAbout this time last year we were celebrating with our families. Outside of the general worries there wasn't a whole lot. Then along came February when shit started hitting the fan in China. By march we were getting our first cases here and looking to lock things down for 2 weeks. \n\nRemember \"Flatten the Curve\"? Remember \"We're in this together\"?\nYou know... when we were all ok with staying home for 2 weeks or maybe even up to a month to stop the Covids from killing everyone and to prepare our hospitals for possible overflow?\n\nRemember after that when they started switching from [\"Flatten the Curve\"](https://abcnews.go.com/Health/flattening-coronavirus-curve-happening/story?id=70119118) to [\"Stop the Spread\"?](https://www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/help-stop-spread-coronavirus-and-protect-your-family) And then they started bringing in CERB for people who were affected? Remember after that when we moved into summer we started opening things up but then were told we needed to [prepare for the \"second wave\"](https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/coronavirus-canada-second-wave-lockdown-1.5748106) and that we needed to start wearing masks to stop [\"asymptomatic spread\"](https://www.thehealthsite.com/news/asymptomatic-carriers-of-the-coronavirus-more-likely-to-spread-the-infection-are-you-at-risk-too-787444/)?\n\nFunny how they told us then that the vaccine was in the works and that things will go back to normal once we got it but now we're being told that we need to [continue wearing masks after the vaccine](https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/this-is-why-you-will-still-need-to-wear-a-mask-after-being-vaccinated-1.5222206)?\n\nSo far the plan is to wear masks, stay home and wait for a vaccine 'cause the vaccine is gonna fix everything. In fact, some Chief Health Officers in Canada are telling us they won't open back up [until there is a vaccine.](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/cmho-refelcts-province-ability-come-together-pandemic-1.5855588?fbclid=IwAR1CZsZj8gpyNo6N-I3Jvr3B3qecIrBYW2CH7oGDGnpOybpyFrllB4YZNy8)\nProblem solved.\n\n(3) Systems of Control\n\n> They think they’re joining something that’s going to give them purpose and meaning. Slowly the heat gets turned up and you go through the rituals or the study sessions that get you more and more drawn in. As this process goes on, the person begins to adopt this new worldview that requires new behaviors and which most often requires cutting off from the past. There’s all kinds of control mechanisms, which are the rules and regulations. You’ve got to dress this way.\n\nA LOT of this I have just said in the above point. \n\nHow many people do you know now personally LOVE wearing masks?\nHow many store policies have you seen that will not allow anyone into the premises without a mask?\nHow many news stories are you starting to see now of [fines being handed](https://saskatoonpolice.ca/news/2020879?fbclid=IwAR1kVhKW1BPEljNvQdRi0NN9FPehVbWpgy1ypm4p-q7zcCcZLUzjO4ymFHY) out for non-compliance of the rules? \n\nThis last one being the most important since mind controlling with the television isn't working as efficiently as they would have hoped from being caught in too many lies... now they're threatening to steal your money if you do not comply with their systems. Since we're already severely hurting economically, this last part is generally enough to scare most straight since they know they'll end up homeless if they step out of line with mandatory vaccines and [covid passes](https://globalnews.ca/news/7478787/coronavirus-travel-health-passports-iata/) coming through the door.\n\n(4) Systems of influence\n\n> Then there’s the more subtle influences, which is the peer pressure. Older members will model for the new members how you’re supposed to behave. Before you know it, you’re so enveloped in this other reality that you don’t look to anything else. You don’t allow yourself to be opened to any other explanations. Your mind has completely closed in on this new worldview. So the connections to the belief system is kind of the glue that keeps you there. This is your only hope. \n\nLast but not least we have the [New Normal!](https://www.thestar.com.my/lifestyle/health/2020/05/21/covid-19-what-does-the-039new-normal039-mean)\nI highly doubt there is an individual in North America that hasn't heard how we aren't going back to the way things were but instead are moving towards a new normal in which we will all be happy in our slavery with the [great reset](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipVjGrYE4lE). \n\nPeople have become incredibly divided down the middle at this point - either you're an alt-right anti-science conspiracy theorist or you're not. Anyone who questions the vaccine whatsoever is chastised and ostracized. If you won't or can't wear a mask you deserve to be tarred and feathered. Even those who don't believe this is anymore than a hyped up cold are still wearing masks so as to fit in so they don't end up an outcast. \n\n### Final Thoughts\n\nFor the sake of this article I'm keeping it short to the point. After reading this I would imagine it's pretty straight forward if you apply it to today's situation that there are a lot of points that cannot be denied. You read the right. \n\nThe Government of Alberta requested **MORE TIME** to collect evidence for court. \n\nExactly ***WHAT*** have they been doing this whole time telling us every day on television the updates regarding more lockdowns, new numbers, new deaths, etc. etc. if they didn't have this evidence already?\n\nAt any moment they should be able to give any sort of evidence asked since they've been telling us all the updates on television every day should they not?\n\nThis is **EXTREMELY** alarming and given the current circumstances with people's lives & livelihoods at risk, one would think the Government of Alberta would be a bit more put together than this. But apparently not. \n\n### Losing the Battle, Winning the War\nUnfortunately on December 21, 2020, an injunction requesting relief from Alberta's Chief Medical Officer Dr. Deena Hinshaw draconian & baseless rules was denied. \n\nJudge Kirker ruled that:\n>the Applicants had serious questions to be tried and were going to suffer irreparable harm through the cancellation of Christmas, however, found that ***she was bound by case law to “assume” that Dr. Deena Hinshaw’s Orders were in the public interest.*** \n\nAlthough this was disappointing news to hear that our rulers would be allowed to destroy one of our most important holidays of the whole year, there is good news!\n\nAccording to the article:\n> Justice Kirker was careful to state that this ruling ***is not a reflection on the merits of the case*** and that ***the end result upon the hearing of the Originating Application could be quite different from the result of the Injunction Application.*** On a hearing of the merits of this matter, Justice Kirker pointed out that the ***onus of justifying the restrictions under s. 1 of the Charter and the test in R. v. Oakes shifted to the Government.*** \n​Upon, a hearing of the merits, the Government ***will have to prove that Dr. Deena Hinshaw’s Orders were reasonable, impacted the rights of the Applicants “as little as possible”, and that the Government and Dr. Deena Hinshaw had properly considered alternatives to the Orders to ensure that society as a whole would be impacted as little as possible.*** \n\nSLAM. DUNK.\n\nWe're moving next level as the Applicants have submitted a Litigation Plan that calls for a Judicial Review Hearing to be heard prior to the end of February 2021.\n\n### Government Is Anti-Science?\nThe basis for these lockdowns was because we at the time of them believed due to lack of science that it may be best to deter the asymptomatic spread of this virus.\n\nHowever now a study of [Almost 10 Million People](https://www.bmj.com/content/371/bmj.m4695) shows that asymptomatic spread simply doesn't happen. Even [online science outlets](https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/11/201130131511.htm) this ground breaking study.       "body": "Just as the title says, hospitals are in some very big trouble folks. \n\nMore and more people are coming out of the woodwork to express their distaste with the current political decision meant to protect us. Turns out, what was done in protection really isn't helping at all in many ways. \n\nWe were told just a month ago that the point of this shut down was the [\"flatten the curve\"](https://www.flattenthecurve.com/). However it seems now it's intended purpose has worked above and beyond to the point that people don't want to come in at all to the hospitals anymore due to fear that they'll catch covid and perish via that method. \n\nA CTV article titled [\"All of our rooms are empty': Hospital ERs vacant during pandemic\"](https://beta.ctvnews.ca/national/coronavirus/2020/4/29/1_4918208.amp.html?fbclid=IwAR23E6Uhu8bIfWkG0Q_2SshgZE2n52Hhi3BivLu0yxtcv2hEX7CUxc6BU38) in which the article says hospital ER's have had a \"There has been a 30- to 40-per-cent drop in patients in many ERs in Canada.\"\n\nThis isn't isolated to just Canada however. \n\nYou can see other articles such as this one simply found through google titled, [\"During the coronavirus crisis, San Diego emergency rooms see a dip in visits\".](https://www.bakersfield.com/ap/national/during-the-coronavirus-crisis-san-diego-emergency-rooms-see-a-dip-in-visits/article_6480e1d7-e009-5db3-ab60-36c7872b0616.html)\n\nTo make matters worse, hospitals are now losing [serious money to the tune of billions](https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/finance/us-hospitals-losing-1-4b-in-revenue-per-day.html) and some are [furloughing staff.](https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/finance/49-hospitals-furloughing-workers-in-response-to-covid-19.html)\n\nThe icing on the cake of all of this is the staff now speaking out.       "body": "I'm not sure if ya'll have experienced this phenomenon lately but it generally tends to go like this...\n\n> You're in the middle of having a discussion with someone and suddenly they get upset with you.\nSomething you have said has triggered them in such a way that they get get upset with what word you used rather than the intent behind it. \nIn doing so, you have now unleashed a raging ball of emotion hidden in the bowels of the flesh bag on the other end of the computer screen from you. \nNow suddenly this individual starts degrading you while simultaneously trying to correct your incorrect speech that has clearly destroyed their whole day, possibly their whole week. \nAnd all this was over a toad that someone squished 5 years ago that they just met who was their best friend that you called a frog.\n\nWTF right?\n\nSince when were we assigned the task to GATE KEEP people's emotions?\n\nYes, I said it. Gate keeping.\n\n> gate·keep·ing\n/ˈɡātˌkēpiNG/\nLearn to pronounce\nnoun\nnoun: gate-keeping\n>1.the activity of controlling, and usually limiting, general access to something.\n\nGate Keeping is usually something we hear when we hear of subcultures being \"protected\" by newer members of said subculture. For example in my own experience - it's kind of cute watching these new up and coming little metal heads protecting the music from my age and designating only certain people are allowed to be metal heads, what entitles you to be a metal head, etc. etc. Back in my day (and I'm not even 30 yet) if you listened to metal music, you were a metal head. Lots of different genres but in the end we're all the same. We all show up to a concert with our friends, listen to the tunes, mosh and have a good time. \n\nBut what does this have to do with emotions?\n\nI've observed this past while the increasing phenomena of \"safe spaces\" and the band-aid tools being used to hide or divert one's emotions from themselves. If something is \"too triggering\" (cue these ridiculous trigger warnings), one must step on egg shells in order not to upset someone else's feelings that would cause them to become uncomfortable or hell, possibly experience an uncomfortable emotion like sadness or anger. This causes such unimaginable tension and stress on the side of the speaker that you'll say something wrong or you'll fart in the wrong direction when dealing with certain people to have them come flying off the handle. \n\n*Now before I continue any further since I know there are going to be people who are going to read this up until this point and get triggered who then are going to argue that some people simply are not ready or are not comfortable dealing with things such as trauma. \nJust hang with me for a minute and let me explain before you explode.*\n\nYes, I completely and fully understand that everyone is different with their own experiences, thoughts, emotions, etc. etc. etc. What may be traumatic to one individual may not be a big deal to another. And that **DOES NOT** make their experiences, thoughts and emotions with said experience **ANY LESS VALID**. \nThis is not a pissing contest on who has it worse. This also does not throw things like PTSD under the same umbrella as just some willy nilly issue that can be solved with a quick meditation. \nPlease, do not for even one second assume that just because I speak of a generality that I do not comprehend that there are circumstances that exist outside those generalities or that this is as easy as plugging together a couple blocks and calling it done. \n\nNow that being said, back to the topic at hand.\n\nIt's becoming quite disturbing to me that so many people are unwilling to face their uncomfortable emotions but would rather expect others to protect their emotions from themselves. They want other to Gate Keep their emotions so keep them out of discomfort. I truly do think this is leading to more child-like hurt people. \n\nChild like seems to be a pretty harsh thing to say doesn't it?\nIs it though?\n\nWhen we are kids, how many times do our parents tell us to quit crying, get over it or hell even beat our emotions out of us. Or beat them back into us. We aren't validated. We aren't heard. We do not have parents there who are willing to HOLD SPACE for us so that we can sort through our own emotions. Many of them aren't willing to simply allow us to feel and support us through what we need when these uncomfortable emotions arise. \n\nThis in turn has bled into a whole society of emotionally unstable children unable to function on a daily basis without drowning out our pain and sorrows with pills or some other altering substance.\n\n(And again, I'm not knocking people who take pharmaceuticals for help. If it works for you even though you've tried it all from the light therapy to the essential oils to the self help groups, you're a grown ass adult and I trust you will make the best decision for you at the end of the day.)\n\nA society of self where the only thing that matters is me and I will do whatever it takes to make myself comfortable - even if that means forcing others to censor themselves just to make me comfortable. \n\nI don't know about ya'll, but I'm a little fed up with speaking to groups of people yet simultaneously having to be responsible for how they react. That's not to say I won't consider their thoughts and emotions when trying to convey a message appropriately - especially in a private conversation with a single individual. \n\nThat is also not to say that I will say whatever I want and think I am free of consequence. You don't threaten people thinking you're just gonna get away with it. We still do have rules in place based in natural law on how to conduct one's self appropriately to the best of our ability outside of the confines of cultural construct which are an added layer. \n\nHowever I grow tired of babysitting people who should be adults. \n\nIt's time for people to start doing the shadow work required to grow so they can take care of themselves leaving us to be who we need to be - the support rather than the parent.",
