titleAnarchy in Action: How Our Daily Lives Are Anarchist
bodyLots of people, when confronted with the idea of a society without rulers, have problems imagining how things would work. At first, anarchism seems like an abstract concept that's fairly hard to grasp. Many are afraid of what would happen to the very essential services desperately needed for a society to work, such as roads. So in order to take away that fear of the unknown, all one has to do is to show how such essential services are already being provided in an anarchist manner today. Since we're talking about services and goods that are crucial to the survival of mankind, let's start by talking about food. Without a reliable food supply, people starve and die. What could be of more importance than food supply, then? So how is food being provided today? As with many services, there are different approaches in different parts of the world. Sometimes, "government" guarantees "it's citizens" to ensure food supply and takes control of the production, distribution and / or pricing of food. Usually, this results in a massive food shortage and lots of people starving (to death), as happened in the GDR, the Soviet Union, Mao's China and right now in Venezuela. Why this happens is unrelated to today's topic. Luckily, most "governments" today do not "ensure" food supply (anymore). So why aren't people starving? The answer is simple: freedom is the best provider. People need and want food, so they're willing to pay for it. People who are able to produce food want to make money, so they are willing to invest their workforce into food production. People also want to have easy access to food, they don't want to drive to the next farm every week just to make groceries, so they are willing to pay someone for making grocery shopping more convenient. Businessmen who are able to provide the infrastructure to get the food to the consumers want to earn money, too, so they're glad to do so in exchange for a profit. So the businessmen buy huge amounts of food at once, which is good and convenient for the producer, therefore getting it at much lower prices than an individual customer, then distribute it across the land to shops where they can sell it at a profit to the individual consumers whose lives have just gotten a lot more comfortable. Sounds familiar? That's how supermarkets work. No "government" needed. And they work incredibly well. Take a good as important as food out of "government's" hands and not only do people not start to starve, they're being provided with an always stable supply of high-quality food at low prices - and every party made a profit in the process. That's the very power of the free market. Freedom will always be superior to oppression, so don't let it scare you away. Just remember: Your daily life is mainly anarchist, despite the "government" violently interfering with and inhibiting many parts of it. This is a very basic and brief write-up and certainly doesn't answer every possible question, but that's not it's purpose. It's purpose is to take away the fear that many people feel when confronted with the idea of having no "government" to ensure the providing of essential goods and services. If you want me to answer certain (more complex) questions arising, I may do so in another post.

Sometimes, \"government\" guarantees \"it's citizens\" to ensure food supply and takes control of the production, distribution and / or pricing of food. Usually, this results in a massive food shortage and lots of people starving (to death), as happened in the GDR, the Soviet Union, Mao's China and right now in Venezuela. Why this happens is unrelated to today's topic.\n\nLuckily, most \"governments\" today do not \"ensure\" food supply (anymore). \n\nSounds familiar? That's how supermarkets work. No \"government\" needed. And they work incredibly well. Take a good as important as food out of \"government's\" hands and not only do people not start to starve, they're being provided with an always stable supply of high-quality food at low prices - and every party made a profit in the process. That's the very power of the free market.\n\nFreedom will always be superior to oppression, so don't let it scare you away. Just remember: Your daily life is mainly anarchist, despite the \"government\" violently interfering with and inhibiting many parts of it.\n\nThis is a very basic and brief write-up and certainly doesn't answer every possible question, but that's not it's purpose. It's purpose is to take away the fear that many people feel when confronted with the idea of having no \"government\" to ensure the providing of essential goods and services. If you want me to answer certain (more complex) questions arising, I may do so in another post.",

titleAnarchy in Action: How Our Daily Lives Are Anarchist
bodyLots of people, when confronted with the idea of a society without rulers, have problems imagining how things would work.
