The natural consequence of its rising popularity has been its constant comparison to Bitcoin, the first virtual currency. The blockchain offers a chance to work at lower costs with greater regulatory compliance, reduced risk, and enhanced efficiency.\n\n**Enter Ethereum!**\nBlockchain technology is being used to create applications which are beyond just supporting a digital currency. Such applications are often referred to as Crypto 2.0, Blockchain 2.0 or even Bitcoin 2.0.\n\nLaunched in 2015, Ethereum is the largest and most well-established, open-ended decentralized software platform that enables SmartContracts and Distributed Applications (ĐApps) to be built and run without any downtime, fraud, control or interference from a third party. Ethereum is not just a platform but also a programming language (Turing complete) running on a blockchain, helping developers to build and publish distributed applications. In 2014, Ethereum had launched a pre-sale for ether which received an overwhelming response. Ether is like a vehicle for moving around on the Ethereum platform and is sought by developers looking to develop and run applications inside Ethereum.\n\nEther is used broadly for two purposes: it is traded as a digital currency exchange like other cryptocurrencies and is used inside Ethereum to run applications and even to monetize work. According to Ethereum, it can be used to “codify, decentralize, secure and trade just about anything.” One of the big projects around Ethereum is Microsoft’s partnership with ConsenSys which offers “Ethereum Blockchain as a Service (EBaaS) on Microsoft Azure so Enterprise clients and developers can have a single click cloud-based blockchain developer environment.”\n\n**Bitcoin Vs Ethereum**\nWhile both Bitcoin and Ethereum are powered by the principle of distributed ledgers and cryptography, the two differ in many technical ways. For example, the programming language used by Ethereum is Turning complete whereas Bitcoin is in a stack based language. Other differences include block time (Ethereum transaction is confirmed in seconds compared to minutes for Bitcoin) and their basic builds (Ethereum uses ethash while Bitcoin uses secure hash algorithm, SHA-256).       "body": "**Russian athletes have been banned from competing at the Rio 2016 Paralympics following the country's doping scandal.**\n\nThe International Paralympic Committee (IPC) had opened suspension proceedings following the McLaren report, and has now confirmed the ban.\n\nThat report, published last month, detailed a state-sponsored doping programme operated by Russia.\n\nThe Russian Paralympic Committee will reportedly appeal against the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.\n\nIn contrast to the IPC, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) chose not to hand Russia a blanket ban from the Olympic Games.\n\nThe Rio 2016 Paralympics begin in 31 days' time, on 7 September, and 267 Russian athletes across 18 sports will now miss the Games.\n\n\"The anti-doping system in Russia is broken, corrupted and entirely compromised,\" said IPC president Sir Philip Craven at a news conference on Sunday.\n\n\"The Russian Paralympic Committee are unable to ensure compliance with and enforcement of the IPC anti-doping code and the world anti-doping code within their own national jurisdiction and they can not fulfil its fundamental obligation as an IPC member.\n\n\"As a result, the Russian Paralympic Committee is suspended with immediate effect.\"\n\n**Craven's damning words**\n\nHe added: \"Tragically this situation is not about athletes cheating a system, but about a state-run system that is cheating the athletes. The doping culture that is polluting Russian sport stems from the Russian government.\n\n\"The Russian government has catastrophically failed its para-athletes. Their 'medals over morals' mentality disgusts me. The complete corruption of the anti-doping system is contrary to the rules and strikes at the very heart of the spirit of Paralympic sport.\n\n\"It shows a blatant disregard for the health and wellbeing of athletes and, quite simply, has no place in Paralympic sport. Their thirst for glory at all costs has severely damaged the integrity and image of all sport, and has certainly resulted in a devastating outcome for the Russian Paralympic Committee and para-athletes.\"\n\n**Why was Russia banned?**\n\nCanadian law professor Richard McLaren's report found that Russia's sports ministry manipulated urine samples provided by its athletes between 2011 and 2015.\n\nThe report identified 27 samples relating to eight para-sports, five of which are summer sports, including some governed by the IPC.\n\nThe IPC has also found evidence that samples were swapped during the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games and it planned to reanalyse every Russian sample from Sochi.\n\nThe IPC allowed the Russian Paralympic Committee to present its case before it decided on the ban.\n\n**Paralympics takes a stand**\n\nThe IOC was widely criticised for ignoring the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) recommendation to ban Russia from the Rio Olympics.\n\nInstead, each individual sporting federation was given the power to decide if Russian competitors were clean to compete.\n\nA three-person IOC panel then had the final say.\n\nIn the end, more than 270 Russian athletes were cleared to compete at the Olympics.\n\n**Reaction**\n\nUS Anti-Doping Agency (Usada) chief executive Travis Tygart said the IPC's decision was \"inspiring\".\n\n\"The IPC showed strong leadership today in holding Russia's state-organised doping accountable,\" said Tygart. \"Their unanimous decision goes a long way towards inspiring us all - most importantly clean athletes - and upholding the Paralympic values we admire.\"\n\nWada said it supported the decision, adding it was \"is in the interest of clean athletes and the clean sport movement\".\n\nThe British Paralympic Association said the IPC had taken a bold decision and congratulated it for taking a \"clear stand\".\n\n\"It is crucial for the integrity of our sport that those involved, as well as the public, feel confident that all necessary measures are in place to tackle doping and the playing field is level\", a statement read.\n\nBritain's Paralympic gold medallist and world champion Richard Whitehead told the BBC's World Service: \"I feel that Paralympic sport will move forward and will be the shining light of what needs to happen within sport. Let's hope that other sporting governing bodies also take the same light. \"\n\nBut the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) said it was \"disappointed\" and \"troubled\" by the IPC's decision.\n\nFEI President Ingmar De Vos said: \"We believe the individual International Federations should be given the opportunity to defend the rights of their clean athletes.\"\n\n**Analysis**\n\nBBC Sport's Chris McLaughlin: \"It's the decision the IOC resisted - a blanket ban and a hardline approach from the Paralympic movement. Won 100m gold at London 2012, but Hahn won world titles in 2013 and 2015, beating the Russian on both occasions.\n\nGoncharova would also likely have competed in the 400m (probably against Kadeena Cox), long jump (probably against Olivia Breen) and as part of the Russian 4x100m team which won silver behind GB at last year's Worlds.\n\n**Evgenii Shvetsov (athletics)**\n\nWon three golds in the T36 category at London 2012 - beating Britain's Paul Blake in both the 400m and 800m and compatriot Graeme Ballard in the 100m.\n\nBlake also won silver behind him in the 400m at last year's Worlds in Doha.\n\n**Olesya Vladykina (swimming)**\n\nA big rival of Britain's Claire Cashmore in the SB8 100m breaststroke, beating her at almost every major championship since the 2008 Paralympics apart from the 2014 Europeans where they tied for gold.\n\n**Valeriia Shabalina (swimming)**\n\nThe medals in the S14 events in Rio had looked like being a straight battle between Britain's Bethany Firth and Shabalina, who won three golds at the recent IPC Swimming Euros in Portugal, beating Firth in two of the events and setting two world records.\n\n**Darya Stukalova (swimming)**\n\nBritish swimmer Hannah Russell's main rival in the S12 category, especially in the 50m and 100m freestyle and the 100m backstroke.",

But the first set of alarms go off as soon as you realize that Pokémon Go’s policy does seem a bit more liberal than most, because not only are you giving Pokémon Go access to your location and camera, you’re also giving it full access to your Google account (assuming you use that to sign in).\nThere’s one section of the privacy policy in particular that seems to be getting the conspiracy theorists of the world up in arms and which Reddit user Homer_Simpson_Doh calls “very Orwellian”:\n<a href='https://postimg.org/image/skljz34zl/' target='_blank'><img src='https://s8.postimg.org/6lf5bvo5h/image.png' border='0' alt='a'/><br /><a target='_blank' href='https://postimage.org/'>pic upload</a><br /><br />\n\nAs TechCrunch explained, Pokémon-loving millennials are far less likely to object to a few extra permissions when its Squirtle staring them in the face as they abandon their every god-given freedom than they do when Google reads their email.\n\nPokémon Go comes directly—directly—from the intelligence community\n\nAnd it’s not like Pokémon Go itself doesn’t already have a direct(-ish) line to the CIA. After all, Pokémon Go was created by Niantic, which was formed by John Hanke.\n\nNow, Hanke also just so happened to help found Keyhole. What does Keyhole do, you ask? I’d tell you to go to Keyhole’s website—but you can’t. It just takes you straight to Google Earth. That’s because Keyhole was acquired by Google back in 2004.\n\nBefore that, though, Keyhole received funding from a firm called In-Q-Tel, a government-controlled venture capital firm that invests in companies that will help beef up Big Brother’s tool belt. What’s more, the funds In-Q-Tel gave Keyhole mostly came from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), whose primary mission is “collecting, analyzing, and distributing geospatial intelligence.”\n\nStill unsure if Pokémon Go’s creator is a government spook? They could take a few different paths, though they all boil down to the fact that we’re all cogs in Professor Willow’s great, big government machine.\n\nConsidering that one of Big Brother’s favorite pastimes is watching its citizens at all times always and forever, Pokémon Go is an ideal vessel for its many, many eyes.
