      "body": "이 문제는 미국의 한 오락프로그램에서 비롯되었다. 프로그램은 참가자가 주어진 퀴즈를 모두 풀어나가는 것이었고, 참가자는 문제를 모두 맞추면 보상을 받을 수 있었다. 그런데 여기서 보상을 주는 방식이 특이한데, 3가지 문 중에서 하나를 선택하고 그 선택된 문 안에 있는 것을 보상으로 받을 수 있는 방식이었다.\n세가지 문 중 하나에는 자동차가, 나머지 둘에는 염소가 준비되어 있었다. 그 프로그램의 진행자 몬티홀은 프로그램을 진행하던 중, 어떤 생각이었는지 문을 선택한 참가자에게 이러한 말을 하게 된다.\n-당신이 선택한 문을 열기 전에 이 옆에 있는 문을 한번 열어보겠습니다.\n그리고 실제로 그 문을 열고 다시 말했다.\n-이곳에는 염소가 있습니다. 지금 당신의 선택을 바꿀 수 있습니다. 어떻게 하시겠습니까.\n그러한 진행을 지켜본 시청자들은 어떤 것이 더 확률이 높은지에 대하여 토론을 하기 시작했다.\n지금은 이미 결론이 지어진 이야기이다. 하지만 이 딜레마에 대하여 처음 듣는다면 어려울 수도 있는 문제다.\n어떤 이는 처음 선택할때는 확률이 1/3이지만, 문을 하나 열고나면 차를 선택할 확률이 1/2이 되기때문에 바꾸나 바꾸지 않나 별 상관이 없다고 말했다.\n그리고 어떤 이는 거기에 덧붙여 바꾸나 바꾸지 않나 차이가 없다면 이것은 확률로 접근할 문제가 아니라 심리학적으로 접근해야 옳다고 말했다. 몬티홀이 이미 차가 어디에 있는지 알고있었기 때문에 차를 선택하지 않도록 유도한 것에 불과하다고 말한 것이다.\n마지막으로 어떤 이는 바꾸는 것이 바꾸지 않는 것보다 33%의 확률을 더 얻을 수 있다고 말했다.\n어떤 것이 정답일까. 이 문제는 처음에 등장하였을 때 흔히들 말하는 배운 사람들마저 헷갈릴만큼 어려운 문제였다.\n하지만 생각해보면 엄청나게 단순한 문제이다.\n처음 차를 선택할 확률은 1/3이며, 염소를 선택할 확률은 2/3이다.\n그리고 우리가 선택한 다음, 진행자가 염소가 있는 문을 열고나서 우리가 선택할 수 있는 문은 2개이므로 바꾸게 된다면 남은 문이 하나밖에 남지 않았기 때문에 무조건 확률은 1이 된다.\n우리가 어떤 문을 선택하더라도 염소가 있는 문이 하나 남기 때문에 몬티홀은 염소가 있는 문을 하나 열게된다. 그렇기 때문에 우리가 처음에 차를 선택하게되면 남은 문에는 염소가 있게 되고, 염소를 선택하게되면 남은 문에는 차가 있게 된다.\n그렇다면 우리가 처음에 염소를 선택할 확률은 2/3이고, 바꾸었을때 차를 선택하게 되는 확률도 마찬가지가 된다.\n바꾸지 않았을 때 차를 선택할 확률은 1/3인 반면에 바꾸었을 때 차를 선택할 확률은 2/3이 되므로 선택을 바꾸는 것이 훨씬 유리하게 되는 것이다.\n이 문제는 우리에게 다중 선택의 기회에 따라 확률을 어떻게 판단할 수 있게 해주었다.",
