| title | Is this the "age of confusion"? |
| body | http://coebrown.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Ahern_A_Confusion_Black-and-White-Charcoal-914x1030.jpg It is generally said that this is the "age of ignorance". Considering that the nuance of ignoring is not simply not knowing, but not wanting to know despite having access to knowledge, is a fairly accurate view. Since we have never in history had, not even by chance, such free access to information. We are not even too aware of what the Internet has meant. Any previous generation would be unable to imagine such a thing. And yet we seem to choose not to know. In a way because the downside is that the information overload is such that we don't know how to process it and prefer to be distracted by trifles. It's a paradox, isn't it? The ease of access is so wide that the mind rejects it. We could almost say it' s fighting to stay the way it was. Beyond this, we have recently observed that we are in a state of confusion. Loss of mental clarity. It is as if we have become so imbued and overwhelmed that this has resulted in a total lack of perspective. As if in the face of any idea that is presented to us we do not have the capacity to discern. We seem to have forgotten to think, in the broad sense of the word. The thing is, I see this every day in all its facets. Nobody is clear about anything and any nonsense generates debate because we have lost our minds. Unable to stand back and analyze any idea or fact. As if everything were a mere argument to be won and only the arguments for it matter, whether it is fallacious or not. And we lacked the capacity to refute. Is this the "age of confusion"? It even seems that some intellectuals today are the ones who merely know what others have thought, expressing themselves through technicalities and unclear language. On the contrary, if the thought is clear, the expression of it should also be clear accordingly, as a reflection of what it is. Because clarity is not complex, but crystalline. Everything else is a simple ornament that tries to hide its own meaninglessness. Reading many books, for example, does not necessarily mean that you have understood them. That still requires clear thinking. Is this the "age of stupidity"? The human beings of this world, for the most part, have relegated all responsibility to others... yes, even to thinking. But what is stupidity but chronic "mental confusion" (or lack of mental clarity)?: "- They better think for me and that's it. Why should I wonder about anything by myself?" Just because all the information is not available does not mean that it is not true that the amount of information we can freely access today was unimaginable just a few generations ago. But we are neither aware nor appreciative of it. That we prefer to waste our time on Facebook or watching videos on YouTube is another matter. Without the access we have had it would have been very difficult to develop and deepen spiritually as we have been able to do. We probably wouldn't have ever gone from being social misfits, weirdos. The problem is never the tool, but the use made of it (which is a matter of free choice). Many of us are agreed that this is a time of confusion, which is characteristic of the modern age. The opposite of confusion is not erudition but lucidity. One can be very erudite and have no criteria whatsoever with which to put at the same level data that are good with others that are absurd or, through a bad use of logic, start from true premises and end up with a wrong conclusion. We could exercise ourselves in the art of discernment and logic as well as in the art of decision making. To all the above we must add the capacity of concentration, because a mind that is not attentive will hardly grasp the meaning of what it is perceiving and, in addition, the capacity of memory is related to that of attention. Moreover, confusion is not only due to ignorance but also to emotions that cloud judgment or reason. As a clever person who believed the advertisement of a job offer was clearly a scam, his desire to find a job impeded him from seeing such a gross deception; or we have all had the feeling that we did not want to see what a person looked like and we saw him when it was too late. Therefore control of emotions is also necessary. We notice how the internet has diminished our ability to concentrate, it is more difficult for us to read several chapters consecutive of a book, which we did very easily before (Even though some books are useless. Just to confuse us more, to keep us dizzy without understanding anything because this has been written by people as confused as us). We are also more likely to watch videos or listen podcasts than to read a book. It seems that in today's world everything is set up to create minds without memory, concentration and discernment. And we're pretty sure we left things in the inkpot. | body | So we were going. Everything okay? Let's think about it. Let's think of the world we know. Is there injustice? Is there suffering? Is there pain? Are innocent people hurt? We may think that, in spite of this, everything is fine because it is precisely in this that the balance lies. Perhaps we have been told that this is what non-duality is all about. But that may be a lie. It's not about looking at two opposite trends and pretending it' s the same. That's seeing an illusion. What we'd like it to be to be more comfortable. Tell us that there has to be suffering for there to be balance. So we don't feel responsible for anything. Is everything all right? No. We have to accept things as it is. No blindfolds. Without looking the other way. Everything is as it is. But that doesn't mean everything's okay. Do we see the difference? What happens if our leg hurts a lot, for example? We are being aware, through that pain, that something is not right in our leg. It is the same with suffering in the world. It is the materialized effect - that is, it has taken shape - of a cause. Let's think cancer. This occurs when the cells stop communicating with each other and instead of carrying out the usual oxidation process, it begins to ferment. Now we extrapolate it to the world we live in. Let's imagine that all human beings are cells of a body. Do we realize that? That is exactly the state in which we find ourselves. We have become so obsessed with our individual consciousness that we have forgotten that we are part of an interrelated whole. And we behave in a selfish manner, becoming oblivious to the pain of others and worrying only about ourselves. Like the cell that no longer communicates with others and ferments. Our world seems like a reflection of a disease. And an illness is an indication that something is wrong. Then it's not all right. Illness, suffering, is the mechanism for us to realize this. So we can be aware of it. Do we understand? Let's get back to non-duality. Do we know what it is? That body in which there is no cancer, in which all the cells communicate with each other, play a role and cooperate. Having each other's independence, it function as a whole. That is true non-duality. And with us, internally, the same thing happens. Non-duality consists in our thoughts, emotions and actions going in the same direction, behaving as one. It is the justification of cruelty and suffering that benefits the ruler. And the dominator can only be a dominator if there is a dominated one. And the dominated one can only be dominated if he submits to the dominator one. As a symbiotic relationship between two parties. Duality. Maybe we think there's no right or wrong. That the morale is relative. Another fallacy. Of course there's good and there's bad. Not on an absolute level, certainly. But it is within us. It's called consciousness. Every thought, every emotion and every action has an intention. That intention is what produces the movement. And only we know what that intention is. Let's watch each other. Let's be honest with ourselves. For one can only be honest with others to the extent that one is honest with oneself. We're back to knowing yourself, indeed. No, it's not all right. This may serve as an initial framework, but we will not necessarily all agree on everything. What is "good and bad"? What is "pain"? What is "injustice"? It all depends on the point at which we put the focus on analysing - or framing - these concepts. If we take a "human" perspective to analyze and measure it it might make sense but, in a universal context our perception may be absolutely limited and incorrect. An example for us to understand each other: Let's say an extraordinary gardener who is making a dream garden. The garden is beautiful and, those who can appreciate it consider it an exquisite work of art. The gardener takes care of his plants with care, selects the combinations, feeds the soil that nourishes it and depends on the existence of bacteria and fungi and insects -in the appropriate proportion- that give life to the soil. Bacteria eat each other, fungi eat bacteria and vice versa, all of which makes the soil fertile, nourishes the plants that produce this exquisite garden. Now.... does the gardener care if a bacterium dies or lives?, eats the bacteria next door, or is eaten? He names his bacteria and cries when "John" suffers a mishap when it is eaten by "Peter"? Or he doesn't even know how many bacteria are in each root - even though he knows that there are many and that the health of the soil that feeds the plants in his exquisite garden depends on it -. If on the cosmic scale we are just a bacterium, our work collaborates with the "great work" that is the exquisite garden, but our individual destiny is totally irrelevant. Can the bacteria, from its tiny position in the great work, be the one that puts the "moral" stick of what is right or wrong? of what is pain or pleasure? And in fact... the garden takes a hundred years and will last another hundred years... but the bacteria only live for a few hours. Just a few hours into hundreds of years of the garden's existence. Is the bacteria so relevant? If we think of ourselves as the 'centre of the universe', we must accept our scale of values, but if we realize that we are 'just another bacterium, living for a few hours' in the exquisite garden of hundreds of years, we cannot see that we can impose such a biased worldview. Although the words written above may seem like semantic paradoxes to confuse the mind, for a cat everything is fine. |

| title | A perfect instant. |
| body | Let us visualize ourselves in a perfect instant. In the best position we can imagine. In the best site and place we can imagine. With all our biological needs met. With all our wishes fulfilled. All of it. Our conscience in absolute peace. Not our idea of perfection. But such perfection that we can't even conceive of. And now, finding ourselves in that sublime moment, would we move? The answer is No. At least not until we had some needs to cover. That is why we must emphasize the moment. The same thing happens with the universe. It's like an equation that perpetually has a question mark to answer. That is why there is movement. Shall we continue? So, if we are here, if there is movement, if there is something that makes us not remain forever as we are right now, it is precisely because not everything is fine. Let's go deeper. Time does not exist in the sense that we humans measure it. The seconds, the minutes, the hours... are our invention. It is only a system of measurement so that there is a consensus on the duration of time. We've decided how long it lasts a second. How many seconds in a minute. How many minutes in one hour.... But we could have decided that one minute would have, for example, a hundred seconds and that would not change the time itself. Just our timekeeping. Right? Nor does it exist in the linear sense to which we are accustomed. It is elemental that there is only the -instant- present. Since the -instant- past existed and the -instant- future will exist. It's so obvious, we're missing it. So, what is time? An instant - not quantifiable - replicating itself infinitely. And every time it replicates it contains variations. That's why we perceive that time is passing. Because of the variations that occur from one moment to the next. If we didn't see any variation, we would have no way of perceiving it. It is not even a purely physical matter. Because we tend to believe that time is something that happens only in the external reality in an objective way. However, if we were in a state of sensory deprivation - without sight, without hearing, without smell, without touch and without taste - we would still have temporal perception. In our minds. The succession of our thoughts would indicate instant variation. I mean, time. Therefore, time also exists on the mental plane. It is not only external but also internal. And, again, it has nothing to do with the consensual measure we have of it. If we realize, that nature of time, the instant that replicates itself without end, is no different from the rest of the living organisms that reproduce. Everything tends to replicate because it is the only way to perpetuate itself. So, we could even say that time is alive. Sounds strange, doesn't it? I try to make sure that we can understand what time is because, in the end, it's just that: the variation, the movement. And, according to the initial idea, if everything were fine, if everything were absolutely sublime and perfect, there would be no variation or movement. Ergo, there wouldn't be time. Everything that exists, vibrates. Even a stone, apparently so solid, is a set of atoms in motion. If it didn't vibrate it would be imperceptible. And, therefore, it would not exist. That means everything has life. At least as much as we can perceive. Even the screen through which we are reading these lines. All those objects that we consider inert are indeed alive. Where does that leave us? I bet there's no such thing as non-existence. Only existence can exist. Another obviousness so elementary that it escapes us. Perhaps this will begin to bring us a little closer to the concept of the eternal. Existence is infinite. It can't be any other way. Our mind fights against that idea. Even if you accept it, you can't conceive of it, can you? Why? Because the universe as a whole is limitless. That which is neither defined nor formless. The absolute potential. That's why it's infinite. And so it can take infinite forms. But each of those forms it takes is a note of that totality. It is limited. And our mind and our identity are a limited form. An outline of the universe. To be the definite and concrete form that we are, we necessarily don't have to be many other forms. Do we see it? That is why we cannot embrace infinity. And, consequently, we cannot be infinite. Our limited form, of course, has its limits. That means we'll disappear. That we'll die. But not existence. Existence is eternal because non-existence cannot exist. All right. Let us ask ourselves what we really are. The limited form with which we identify? or pure unlimited existence taking on a limited form? I don't intend to be around. Asking the questions and finding the answers are the responsibility of each of us. Let's just get to know each other better. Let us take a moment, we know that we seem to make a lot of detours and that we are not going anywhere. But in order for us to get where we want to go, we cannot or will not know how to do it, for the time being, in any other way. Everything is interrelated. We can't go straight to the end. Every journey has a path. It is inevitable to travel through it to reach your destination. We cannot understand the final concept, the one our mind wants now to stop thinking that it is wasting time, without having first understood certain related concepts. I want us to be aware that everything is in everything. Everything behaves the same way. All those limited forms that the universe takes, possess the nature itself of the universe. That's why we can see identical patterns in apparently different things. That's why the universe is in us and in everything. Excuse me if you find the message simple and the argument is scarce. Everything is as it is. Have a good time. |

| title | The inner voice. |
| body | The voice said to me, "Write something about the voice". And I wrote it down. When I say inner voice I mean that if we think "what a good day it has been today" it says "well but it should rain more because there has been drought for a long time" with a deeper voice, and that we can feel it in a deeper part of our brain, I would say in the right center. That voice is a different entity from us? Is it a subordinate entity to us? Or it is a higher entity, and what we believe it is, is only a superficial and kind manifestation of that higher being. I have long ago differentiated three minds in myself, but these seem to function as one. Notice to the reader: what I am going to present is my interpretation of things, and I myself have created my own terminology. It works for me, it doesn't have to work for others. The real mind: It's the main mind that matters. The other two minds are (should be) at the service of this one. It is the one that handles (rather should handle) the emotions and the main discourse of the mind. It's who you really are, the true identity. It is the mind that asks, investigates, searches, observes, learns. It is also the decision-maker and it is vitally important that it is honest with itself and that it finds coherence. It must rule over the other two minds. The unfolded mind: It is, in a manner of speaking, our Jiminy Cricket. It is a kind of copy or substitute of the main mind but with two differences: it does not handle or feel emotions (but it does have the information they provide), and it sees everything that happens as a mere spectator, handling all the information. It does not make decisions, but it has all the answers that are within us. The problem is that it shuts up if you're not asked the right questions. It is the one that comes when you have a problem and you consult it with yourself doing introspection, showing us the answer and/or the way out. It is not afraid to be bold, nor to be politically incorrect. It' s like a spectator, watching everything that happens from the couch. If you don't go to it when you have a problem, it won't come on its own, and all it needs to do is make some popcorn. It neither feels nor suffers, and that is why it seems that it does not care what might happen (although it does, because you are yourself in reality, but "disidentified"), as if it knew itself to be untouchable. Although it' s always there, watching. It is vitally important to have an open dialogue with it. The virtual mind: It is the mind of the fictional character that we all represent in this world, the character that we present to society and that everyone can see. If it is not mastered, it is the great usurper of sovereignty who should have the main mind, to the point that it could be totally relegated. A priori, this mind should be a tool at the service of the main mind, just as the unfolded mind is. The problem is that most of the time each person identifies with the virtual mind, and not with the real one, polarizing it at all times so that misgovernment reigns. The virtual mind feeds on the emotions that the real mind handles, and polarizes them to the extreme. It is the mammalian, materialistic, biological mind... the beggar, the one that wants everything, like a badly raised child. Visceral and violent. It is the one that seeks to conquer and usurp (if necessary) all that it sees. And it will fight to the death to defend what it considers its own. Overstimulated and polarized. It is vitally important to govern it and depolarize it, and above all, to disidentify oneself from it so that the real mind assumes true identity. Frequently, we become aware of the existence of the unfolded mind, we do not ask ourselves questions or find our own answers; we allow ourselves to usurp our particular reality, replacing it with the imposed virtual reality. The unfolded mind makes us depend on it to find the answers in all possible systemic fields (science, politics, economics, etc.). In turn, giving prominence to the virtual mind and that it usurps sovereignty from the real mind." Sometimes such an unfolded mind is irreverent and takes a lot of trust, and can be very politically incorrect. The biggest and greatest problem with this voice is that it is at the service of the virtual mind, and it will be exercising its work as Jiminy Cricket at the service of the desires of the virtual mind, whether conscious or unconscious. Hence the "but it should rain more..." thing, is that in our unconscious we wanted it to rain and, although the day was good, we had that thorn in our side. So the key is to make the real mind the boss and put the virtual mind, the usurper (which in a sense does behave like an invader), in its place. Then, that voice of the unfolded mind has the true function of being, as it were, "an entity subordinate to us"; but when the virtual mind usurps the throne, this unfolded voice is subordinated to the usurper and it seems to be a voice that is alien to us and that does nothing but annoy us. But if we look at it and do an exercise of memory, we will see that, surely, more than once it has taken our chestnuts out of the fire, or has encouraged us as if it were our best friend. Remember, this is my interpretation of things. If you see it differently, it doesn't have to be wrong, trust in their wisdom. |

| title | The truth like a Rorschach stain. |
| body | WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE AWAKE? That's how I understood it, but I could be wrong. The truth is like a Rorschach stain.... When we see the truth from the perspective of the soul, we see what we want to see, in a biased way and according to a confirmation bias. When we see the truth from the perspective of the spirit, we see what we need to see, in a subjective way and according to the personal circumstance in which we find ourselves. When we hold on to "our truth" of the spirit we stop fighting, free ourselves and find true life (which is life and inner peace). When we hold on to "our truth" of the soul, we will fight for it to the death. For some time now I have understood this, that all those who look at this "Rorschach truth" from the spirit will come to the understanding they need to come to according to their personal circumstances of each moment they are in. If at some point we need to believe that God is salvation, we shall see. If at any other time we need to believe that Reiki is, then so be it. And it will not be contradictory, but continuist. Little by little a process will follow that will take us to where we need to go, and the ways to get to the essence (bottom) of things will be lost. The difference is that those who see it from the soul will fight and strive to overcome others, but those who see it from the spirit will realize that it is something intimate and untransferable, and will go their way without disturbing anyone. Everyone has to find his own, knowing that if circumstances change, the truth changes too. But in the end we realize that it only changes shape, but not substance. Of course, all this will work for me, and anyone can tell me this "nonsense" thing, and they will not lack reason. In this sense, a long time ago I understood something that came to me from within: "The wise man realizes that the best thing he can do is to keep quiet" Have a good one! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rorschach_test |
