| title | New Social Media Platform Which Pays You to Post |
| body |

hey this my article to steemit i hope you like my article

let's start..

Steemit, a new social media platform where everyone gets paid to post online, has been released in beta. In the age of multiple social media platforms, many of them entrenched players, how will new users react to Steemit?

Background of Steemit

Steemit is a relatively new company, founded in early 2016 by Ned Scott and Daniel Larimer.Ned Scott earlier worked for Gellert Global Group, a family-owned private equity group which holds many North American food companies.Daniel Larimer is the founder of Bitshares, which has the 11th largest market capitalization amongst all cryptocurrencies.

The concept

Steemit is powered by blockchain technology and uses a new cryptocurrency to reward users who upload articles, images, commentary, etc.Other ways users can get paid is through sourcing and up-voting popular content. The earlier a person up-votes a post that becomes popular, the more is the reward.Users are paid half in 'Steem Power' (a vesting currency) and half in Steem Dollars, which can be exchanged for US Dollars.CTO Dan Larimer says to CoinTelegraph:

“Steemit is a brand new way to recognize contributors online, especially those who join our community early and stay long term. New users will be given a portion of Steem when they sign up and those who initiate or improve the quality of discussions, through persuasiveness, clarity, grammar and formatting, will be upvoted faster and more appropriately rewarded.”

How is multiple account creation prevented?

One of the banes of rewarding users for posting is that people try to game the system by creating multiple accounts. These accounts can be used to post/vote multiple times and thereby manipulate the popularity of posts.Steemit tries to control this by requiring users to register through their Facebook accounts.Steemit is a content aggregator that rewards users in forms of a new cryptocurrency. Depending on the quality and popularity of a post, or how early a post is upvoted on, users are paid in forms of Steem. Although Steemit may be the most sophisticated and thought-through system to date, the concept of rewarding users for their posts is not entirely new. As early as 2014, sites such as Bubblews and Bonzo Me came out with the idea of paying users for generating content. These sites used Paypal to make payments. Bubblews closed down in November 2015.Taringa, Argentina's largest social networking site, tips users in bitcoins for posting and sharing content. This hasn't led to users migrating in droves from Facebook and other social networking sites. It remains to be seen how successful Steemit is in attracting users.

|

"body": "
\n

\n
hey this my article to steemit i hope you like my article
\n
let's start..
\n
Steemit, a new social media platform where everyone gets paid to post online, has been released in beta. In the age of multiple social media platforms, many of them entrenched players, how will new users react to Steemit?
\n
Background of Steemit
\n
Steemit is a relatively new company, founded in early 2016 by Ned Scott and Daniel Larimer.Ned Scott earlier worked for Gellert Global Group, a family-owned private equity group which holds many North American food companies.Daniel Larimer is the founder of Bitshares, which has the 11th largest market capitalization amongst all cryptocurrencies.
\n
The concept
\n
Steemit is powered by blockchain technology and uses a new cryptocurrency to reward users who upload articles, images, commentary, etc.Other ways users can get paid is through sourcing and up-voting popular content. The earlier a person up-votes a post that becomes popular, the more is the reward.Users are paid half in 'Steem Power' (a vesting currency) and half in Steem Dollars, which can be exchanged for US Dollars.CTO Dan Larimer says to CoinTelegraph:
\n
“Steemit is a brand new way to recognize contributors online, especially those who join our community early and stay long term. New users will be given a portion of Steem when they sign up and those who initiate or improve the quality of discussions, through persuasiveness, clarity, grammar and formatting, will be upvoted faster and more appropriately rewarded.”
\n
How is multiple account creation prevented?
\n
\n
",

| body |

Steemit, a new social media website that has grown tremendously since its launch two months ago has seen its token cryptocurrency Steem’s value explode over the past week. The digital currency now sits third in the cryptocurrency market value charts with over $360 million at the time of publishing, only after Bitcoin and Ethereum.Speaking to CCN earlier, Steemit CEO Ned Scott described the platform as follows:

A social media website built completely on the public Steem blockchain, which brings all the benefits of cryptocurrency and immutability to social media. Beyond that, users get paid to post and vote, similar to how miners are paid by Bitcoin.

Understandably, Steemit is getting plenty of attention for the way it incentivizes users who post and vote on its platform. Malicious hackers have taken notice too, with the platform the subject of a cyberattack late last night (UCT).In an official statement provided to CCN, Ned Scott stated:

Steemit was today subjected to a cyber attack. In the attack, fewer than 260 accounts were compromised, and less than $85,000 worth of Steem Dollars and Steem may have been stolen. The hack has now been contained. User accounts and wallets are not at risk, and we hope to soon reactivate the Steemit website to normal order. Any users whose accounts were compromised will be completely reimbursed.

Scott confirmed that the incident was reported to the police along with “other cyber crime authorities, including the FBI.” An internal investigation within the company is also underway.Furthermore, digital currency exchange Bittrex, a partner of Steemit, is also involved in the investigation. All Steem trading through deposits or withdrawals have been temporarily suspended.Notably, the cyberattack has compromised the website and the couple hundred user accounts resulting in the theft of those users’ funds. There is no indication of a hack of Steem Coin itself.

|

| body |

Along with BitShares founder Dan Larimer, Ned Scott leads Steemit, a blockchain-powered startup that rewards content creators and consumers with cryptocurrency for sharing and upvoting quality content on a dedicated social media platform.

The New York-based firm uses a new cryptocurrency called Steem to reward users who post content such as images, articles and commentary, as well as users who source and upvote popular content. The earlier a user upvotes content that becomes popular, the more the user is rewarded.

Steemit pays users half with “Steem Power,” a vesting currency that fuels voting power, and half with Steem Dollars, which can be exchanged for U.S. Dollars.

CoinReport spoke with Scott, the company’s CEO, via e-mail to learn more about the genesis of Steemit, how the platform works and his interest in cryptocurrency.

The following conversation has been edited slightly for clarity.

CoinReport: What prompted you and Dan to create Steemit? How did you two come together to found the company?

Dan and I are similar in that we are motivated by the idea that we can improve the way of life for others. The state of Internet communities is imperfect – among the sometimes great content, there are also trolls, less than helpful comments and poor dialogue – so there was definitely a problem to solve there in the context of social media. However, when the idea of Steem and Steemit really began to form we had been exploring several different blockchain-based business models. We were looking at micro insurance on the blockchain and a few other ideas, but ultimately, we kept coming back to the idea that the most useful and powerful thing to leverage around a cryptocurrency is a community. Steem was born out of ideas about insurance and mutual aid: it was the idea that people would be able to help each other peer-to-peer if they were struggling to solve problems or needed assistance. It quickly grew into a much larger vision and Steemit was born as a place where individuals get rewarded by a community for posting and voting on content. That was back in January of this year.

I learned of Dan about two and a half years ago, which was about eight months after I stumbled upon Bitcoin. I had been down the rabbit hole learning Bitcoin when I came across Dan’s work on the Bitshares project, and from there, blockchain really seemed to take up all of my time. In mid-2015, I began moonlighting for Dan, bringing his technology to different firms in New York. When 2016 arrived, I made my first trip to meet Dan in person and we had a good match in personalities. The ideas for Steem had just started forming and from there we put a real business plan together and co-founded Steemit.

CR: What was the process like to get the company and platform operational?

NS: There have been many challenges, but it has been exciting to go live as quickly as we have. Dan’s expertise and our developers’ combined experience of more than 12 years working on blockchain technology gave us the opportunity to leverage existing technologies from other open-source blockchains and combine those technologies with the code needed for Steem fairly quickly. The Steem blockchain was an idea in January and main-net by end of March. Along with that we were lucky to attract more than 150 early adopters to help us “kick the tires” while Steemit was in alpha testing throughout April. That number is growing, and watching people come together to support a greater vision has been the most rewarding part of the process.

CR: What key goals or outcomes do you have in mind for Steemit? What value do you see Steemit adding to the social media/content creation-curation space?

NS: At Steemit’s core is Steem, the blockchain, and we feel it is important we start with this because Steem is open-source, transparent, un-censorable and available for anyone to leverage as they see fit. The uniqueness of Steem, where posts, comments and votes sit directly on the blockchain, allows Steem to be leveraged in a few new and different ways, including blockchain-based attribution, blockchain-based content rewards and blockchain-based reputation. Eventually, we’d like to see all of its potential leveraged. How did you two come together to found the company?
\n

\n
\n

\n
I learned of Dan about two and a half years ago, which was about eight months after I stumbled upon Bitcoin. I had been down the rabbit hole learning Bitcoin when I came across Dan’s work on the Bitshares project, and from there, blockchain really seemed to take up all of my time. In mid-2015, I began moonlighting for Dan, bringing his technology to different firms in New York. When 2016 arrived, I made my first trip to meet Dan in person and we had a good match in personalities. The ideas for Steem had just started forming and from there we put a real business plan together and co-founded Steemit.
\n

\n
CR: What was the process like to get the company and platform operational?
\n

\n
\n

\n
CR: What key goals or outcomes do you have in mind for Steemit? What value do you see Steemit adding to the social media/content creation-curation space?
\n

\n
NS: At Steemit’s core is Steem, the blockchain, and we feel it is important we start with this because Steem is open-source, transparent, un-censorable and available for anyone to leverage as they see fit. The uniqueness of Steem, where posts, comments and votes sit directly on the blockchain, allows Steem to be leveraged in a few new and different ways, including blockchain-based attribution, blockchain-based content rewards and blockchain-based reputation. Eventually, we’d like to see all of its potential leveraged. With that, our goal is not just to create a vibrant social media platform with Steemit, but to see entrepreneurs from different walks of life leverage and integrate Steem as a an open-source publishing platform.
\n

\n
With that said, Steemit gives access to publishers and allows them to monetize content without third parties and without ads. | body |

Where to Buy

STEEM is being sold on the BitShares platform via Open Ledger.

Why STEEM?

Steem is an aphetic form of esteem which means to set a high value on or to prize. In the 14th-16th century it meant value. Steem is also a homophone for steam which is frequently associated with power. It only seemed right for a cryptocurrency to be associated with value and power.

Terms and Definitions

Steem refers to the blockchain, while STEEM is a currency symbol.

The Steem blockchain has two currencies: STEEM and SBD (STEEM Convertible Dollars).

Steemit.com is a website owned and operated by Steemit, Inc which is an independent entity building upon the Steem blockchain.

Product Description

STEEM is a digital token that can be vested to grant its owner voting power and the ability to transact on the Steem network. Voting power controls what content gets promoted to the main page of steemit.com and how STEEM is allocated to others. New STEEM is created to reward miners, posters, long-term holders, and liquidity providers at approximately 113% APR. STEEM may also be created to redeem STEEM Backed Dollars.

Users who commit their STEEM to a 1 year vesting schedule are generally protected from the dilution of STEEM.

The software that powers the Steem network is released under a modified BSD license.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

The purchase of STEEM creates no ongoing obligation between the Steemit,Inc and the Buyer. Steemit, Inc cannot guarantee that STEEM will have any resale value. Steemit, Inc cannot recommend buying STEEM for investment purposes.

STEEM Allocation

STEEM is being distributed with the goal of building a large community of active users while raising funding to perform ongoing development. We know that user acquisition is the single biggest cost in building a social media platform; therefore, up to half of all STEEM mined by Steemit, Inc is being given to new users and the users who referred them.

STEEM was publicly announced on bitcointalk.org along with the code. The Bitcointalk community had a couple of days to experiment with an earlier release and get familiar with the code. Steemit relaunched Steem giving people some time to pull the latest code and start their miners before any STEEM was allocated. Over two-dozen different individuals were mining within the first hours of launch.

Steemit, Inc mined about 60% of the available STEEM the first day and then continued to mine until it had mined over 80% of all available STEEM the first week. This representes over 320,000 STEEM mined by Steemit, Inc. Steemit then transferred 53,000 STEEM to 6 founders as VESTS. VESTS is STEEM that has been locked up for an average of 1 year, it can only be converted back to STEEM via 104 equal weekly payments. Steemit then converted its remaining STEEM into VESTS. One week after launch less than 20% of STEEM (80,0000 STEEM) was liquid and almost all of it held by anonymous miners.

After the first week, holders of VESTS are no longer diluted when miners are rewarded. For every 1 STEEM awarded to a miner, 9 STEEM are distributed proportionally among holders of VESTS. All users have the ability to convert STEEM to VESTS to avoid dilution. This means new STEEM is created at a rate of 400 STEEM per minute, but 90% of it is illiquid.

30 days after launch the miner selection algorithm changes. 19/21 miners are selected by approval voting of VESTS holders. Steemit, Inc used its majority voting stake to select 19 independent miners from around the world to produce blocks. 1/21 block producers continue to be selected via mining and 1/21 is time shared among everyone who didn’t make it to the top 19 by approval voting. The block rewards are also automatically converted to VESTS from this point forward.

Steemit, Inc will withdraw its STEEM from VESTS at the maximum allowed rate about 1% per week until Steemit, Inc holds less than 25% of total VESTS. Half of the STEEM received will be given to new users who signup at steemit.com. New users will receive VESTS. The other half will be transferred to an exchange and sold, the profits from this sale will be used by Steemit, Inc to grow its business.

On July 4th approximately 5,000,000 STEEM will be distributed to the best content producers and currators. "body": "
\n

\n
Where to Buy
\n
STEEM is being sold on the BitShares platform via Open Ledger.
\n

\n
Why STEEM?
\n
Steem is an aphetic form of esteem which means to set a high value on or to prize. In the 14th-16th century it meant value. Steem is also a homophone for steam which is frequently associated with power. It only seemed right for a cryptocurrency to be associated with value and power.
\n

\n
Terms and Definitions
\n
Steem refers to the blockchain, while STEEM is a currency symbol.
\n

\n
The Steem blockchain has two currencies: STEEM and SBD (STEEM Convertible Dollars).
\n

\n
Steemit.com is a website owned and operated by Steemit, Inc which is an independent entity building upon the Steem blockchain.
\n

\n
Product Description
\n
STEEM is a digital token that can be vested to grant its owner voting power and the ability to transact on the Steem network. Voting power controls what content gets promoted to the main page of steemit.com and how STEEM is allocated to others. New STEEM is created to reward miners, posters, long-term holders, and liquidity providers at approximately 113% APR. STEEM may also be created to redeem STEEM Backed Dollars.
\n

\n
Users who commit their STEEM to a 1 year vesting schedule are generally protected from the dilution of STEEM.
\n

\n
The software that powers the Steem network is released under a modified BSD license.
\n

\n
\n
The purchase of STEEM creates no ongoing obligation between the Steemit,Inc and the Buyer. Steemit, Inc cannot guarantee that STEEM will have any resale value. Steemit, Inc cannot recommend buying STEEM for investment purposes.
\n

\n
STEEM Allocation
\n
STEEM is being distributed with the goal of building a large community of active users while raising funding to perform ongoing development. We know that user acquisition is the single biggest cost in building a social media platform; therefore, up to half of all STEEM mined by Steemit, Inc is being given to new users and the users who referred them.
\n

\n
STEEM was publicly announced on bitcointalk.org along with the code. The Bitcointalk community had a couple of days to experiment with an earlier release and get familiar with the code. Steemit relaunched Steem giving people some time to pull the latest code and start their miners before any STEEM was allocated. Over two-dozen different individuals were mining within the first hours of launch.
\n

\n
\n

\n
After the first week, holders of VESTS are no longer diluted when miners are rewarded. For every 1 STEEM awarded to a miner, 9 STEEM are distributed proportionally among holders of VESTS. All users have the ability to convert STEEM to VESTS to avoid dilution. This means new STEEM is created at a rate of 400 STEEM per minute, but 90% of it is illiquid.
\n

\n
30 days after launch the miner selection algorithm changes. 19/21 miners are selected by approval voting of VESTS holders. Steemit, Inc used its majority voting stake to select 19 independent miners from around the world to produce blocks. 1/21 block producers continue to be selected via mining and 1/21 is time shared among everyone who didn’t make it to the top 19 by approval voting. The block rewards are also automatically converted to VESTS from this point forward.
\n

\n
Steemit, Inc will withdraw its STEEM from VESTS at the maximum allowed rate about 1% per week until Steemit, Inc holds less than 25% of total VESTS. Half of the STEEM received will be given to new users who signup at steemit.com. New users will receive VESTS. The other half will be transferred to an exchange and sold, the profits from this sale will be used by Steemit, Inc to grow its business.
\n

\n
On July 4th approximately 5,000,000 STEEM will be distributed to the best content producers and currators. Half of this STEEM will be paid as VESTS and half will be paid as STEEM Dollars.
\n

\n
Steem continuously allocates new STEEM to those who bring value to the network. These rates are based upon the virtual STEEM supply. The virtual STEEM supply is the amount of STEEM that would exist if all SBD were to be converted to STEEM at the current feed price. | body | I think the idea that women are less capable is an interesting one. I think that the fact that there are women in the top positions (not all of whom got to those positions because of things like affirmative action, surely) says women are at least _reasonably_ capable. I think that it is more a social factor, as in I think women are generally socialized in our society in a way that doesn't foster that kind of ambition or instill the skills and knowledge to achieve such goals. So, maybe they aren't _capable_ because they aren't properly prepared... but that isn't necessarily something inherent in the gender, if that makes sense. |

| title | History Of Paris |
| body |

Hello There! This is my Article to History Of Paris.

Let's Start....

Antiquity : Gaul

Even though the site of today’s Paris has been inhabited for 90000 years (Mesolithic period), the city’s history really began in the 3rd century BC. At this time, the Parisii, a tribe in Gaul, took up residence in this area, a strategic crossing point towards the north of the country and for the trading route of the Seine river (ou for the river trade along the Seine river). Aware of the strategic importance of the location, Julius Caesar sent his troops to crush the Gauls.
This was in 52 BC and is known as the battle of Lutetia, won by the occupying forces. A roman city was then built on the left bank of the Seine, along the northern slope of Sainte-Geneviève hill.
Lutetia started to take shape. At the end of the 1st century AD, the “Arènes de Lutèce” amphitheatre and the Cluny public baths were constructed. The baths were supplied with water from an aqueduct alongside the Bièvre, a river which has since been buried under the city. These buildings reflect a lifestyle which was typically Roman.
In the 4th century, Lutetia became a garrison town for troops fighting the Barbarians on the northern and eastern frontiers of Gaul.. The city moved to the Île de la Cité wich was fortified and renamed Paris.
In 451, an event took place which made the history books: the nun Saint-Geneviève succeeded in diverting the course of Attila the Hun and his army who wanted to take the city. She became the patron saint of Paris.

The Middle Ages: at the heart of the Kingdom of France

In 508, Clovis, king of the Franks, made Paris the capital of his kingdom. In the 8th century, the centre of the Carolingian Empire shifted to the Northeast. Yet the city took on a new dimension under Hugues Capet. Capet, Count of Paris was elected King of France in 987 and founded a new dynsasty, the Capetians. Then Louis VI, known as Louis the Fat, built a fortification, the Châtelet, around the rebuilt Grand-Pont (currently the Pont au change).
The construction of Notre-Dame cathedral began in 1163 (and was completed in 1345). Then, Philippe Auguste, a great urban planner, left his mark on Paris by surrounding it with walls and building the fortress of the Louvre. Paris is consecrated capital under his reign. In the 13th century, Paris was the most populated (approximately 200,000 inhabitants) and the richest city in the West. Up to this period the city was governed by one man, the King’s provost. In 1268, the powerful boatmen’s guild adopted its motto, « Fluctuat nec mergitur » (the boat is beaten by the waves but does not sink), which later became that of Paris. In the 14th century, the municipality enjoyed real authority, yet over the following centuries was regularly brought to heel by the royal powers.
In the 15th century, Paris was occupied by the English for sixteen years.

The modern era: the birth of royal squares

In the middle of the 16th century, under the reign of François 1st, the capital grew in beauty with Renaissance constructions, such as the new Louvre and the Hôtel de Ville. At this time, several historic buildings were built, including the Natural History Museum and the Luxembourg Palace. From the reign of King Henri IV, the city has the role of honouring the sovereign and praising his power. Royal squares were created for this purpose: Place Dauphine for Henri IV, Place de la Concorde for Louis XV, Place des Vosges for Louis XIII, etc.
1648 saw the beginning of the Frond, a people’s uprising which lasted until 1653. In 1680, Louis XIV left the Louvre Palace, which was until then the residence of the Kings of France, to take up residence in Versailles, to the west of Paris. He died there after a 72-year reign.

The Bastille: symbol of the Revolution

On 14 July 1789, Parisians appalled by the King’s pressure on the new assembly formed by the third estate, took siege of the Bastille fortress, a symbol of absolutism. This event is the start of the French Revolution and the decline of the divine right of monarchs in France. On 17 July, the national tricolour flag with the colours of Paris (blue and red) and of the King (white) was adopted at the Hôtel de Ville by Louis XVI. Jean-Sylvain Bailly, the first Mayor, was elected on 15 July 1789. The Republic was declared for the first time in 1792. In 1793, Louis XVI and Queen Marie-Antoinette were executed on the Place de la Concorde. The Reign of Terror took hold. Then, a coup d’etat by Napoleon Bonaparte overthrew the French Directory and put an end to the Revolution.

Prefect Haussmann transforms Paris

Napoleon was crowned emperor in Notre-Dame cathedral in 1804. He gave Paris the Ourcq canal, the embankments, the creation of the sewerage system, a numbered house system, etc. Later, the barricades went up in the capital: the July revolution toppled Charles X in 1830. Six years later, under Louis-Philippe, work is completed on the Arc de Triomphe. The 1848 Revolution led to the proclamation of the 2nd Republic. In 1852 and during the Second Empire, the capital is transformed under the leadership of Prefect Haussmann. He doubled the width of traffic lanes, made pavements commonplace, etc. He also created 2,000 hectares of woodland and planted 90,000 trees along major roads. He developed an approximately 500-km-long sewerage network. The five train stations were completed in 1847. Between 1855 and 1880, the sales price of buildings increased by 136%. The 3rd Republic was declared in 1870 at the Hôtel de Ville. The Prussians invaded Paris. The Paris Commune was crushed during the ‘Semaine sanglante’ (bloody week). The outcome was 20 to 30,000 victims, a third of the city was burned down and the Hôtel de Ville destroyed. Paris, under siege, lost its status as capital of France for a time. In 1889, the Eiffel Tower was opened during a universal exhibition. In 1910, Paris was once again flooded when the Seine burst its banks in its hundred-year cycle.

Paris and the two World Wars

In World War One, Paris was saved from the German offensive by the Battle of the Marne. However, the city could not escape German occupation from 1940 to 1944. The collaborationist State, governed by Marshal Pétain, is based in Vichy. In London, the free France organised its forces led by General de Gaulle. In 1942, 12,000 Jews were arrested and gathered together at the Vélodrome d’Hiver to be deported. Paris was liberated on 25 August 1944. The following day, General de Gaulle paraded down the Champs-Élysées. The city was saved: the German commander Dietrich von Choltitz, in charge of defence in Paris, disobeyed Hitler’s order to demolish the capital’s historic buildings.

From Montparnasse tower to the tram’s comeback…

Many tower blocks were built in the city in the 1960s. In May 1968, a student revolution took place around the Sorbonne University (5th arrondissement). In the early 1970s, the Paris ring road, the Montparnasse tower and the Palais des Congrès convention centre were completed. In 1977, Jacques Chirac was elected Mayor of Paris: the first mayor since 1871. Many important buildings continue to flourish: the Opera Bastille, the Grande Arche de la Défense, the Stade de France, etc. In 2001, the new City Hall team, led by Bertrand Delanoë, took charge of the city. In December 2006, the tramway made a comeback in the south of Paris: the first to be operated in the capital in 69 years!

|

\nIn the 15th century, Paris was occupied by the English for sixteen years.
\n
The modern era: the birth of royal squares
\n
In the middle of the 16th century, under the reign of François 1st, the capital grew in beauty with Renaissance constructions, such as the new Louvre and the Hôtel de Ville. At this time, several historic buildings were built, including the Natural History Museum and the Luxembourg Palace. From the reign of King Henri IV, the city has the role of honouring the sovereign and praising his power. Royal squares were created for this purpose: Place Dauphine for Henri IV, Place de la Concorde for Louis XV, Place des Vosges for Louis XIII, etc.
\n1648 saw the beginning of the Frond, a people’s uprising which lasted until 1653. In 1680, Louis XIV left the Louvre Palace, which was until then the residence of the Kings of France, to take up residence in Versailles, to the west of Paris. He died there after a 72-year reign.
\n
The Bastille: symbol of the Revolution
\n
