In a job I love I might add.\n\nBut do I want to always be an employee? That's the question I find my mind asking me a lot of the time. And I genuinely do love my job, but will I love it all the same when I want to have a family and spend time with my kids? You never know, maybe I'll love it even more as it will give me a reason to escape the prison of puke, shit and nonsensical screaming.\n\nBefore I go any further I want to clarify that the list above of what I am is not a vein attempt to show off what comprises my life. I'm only a tiny bit egotistical, honest, but this is evaporating daily what with the impending hair loss and gradual addition of a paunch to my mid-rift! Being only a few months away from the ripe old age of 30 I often mull over what I've achieved so far in life and if I've made the right choices. Could I have done more? What could have been different?\nI imagine I'm not alone in this, so raise a hand if you've had similar thoughts and if you've managed to make a gig economy life work I'd love to hear from you.\n\nAs the race towards middle age continues I'm more and more attracted to being self employed and joining the gig economy. But, there's always a but, and I know some people say just crack on and do it. But let's be honest, some of them are irrational thinkers who couldn't find the open end of a double ended tunnel. My but is; I have a small amount of debt to pay off, I have overheads, I have a property that if it isn't rented costs me money to pay off the mortgage. I know there will come a day when I'll be in a position to go freelance and be sound financially, but until then what can be done? If anyone can share any wisdom on how to prepare\n\nAnyway, enough of the above. What can you look forward to if you decide to click the tiny follow button in the top right? What will future posts entail? There will definitely be some self deprecating humour, potentially a dose of swear words (look away kids!), and some actual humour. But overall I plan on posting about the upcoming journey, display lessons learnt, maybe show some cool shit, and explain why it's good to have a creative output or hobby no matter what job you find yourself in. \n\nI'll also try and wrap up each post with a lesson. Emphasis on TRY here, nobody's perfect. So here it is, lesson numero uno;\n\n- Make a start! With whatever you want to do make a start on it. It's taking me ages to get a post on here and this is because I kept saying to myself I needed time to plan a post, then to draft it, then review.
