Este es el primer capítulo de una historia que se sitúa al final del siglo XVIII, donde una serie de eventos extraños comenzaron a darse en las calles bajas de Londres, y de cómo un simple investigador de la policía, se vio envuelto en todo esto. \n\nhttps://metascopios.files.wordpress.com/2014/07/callesoledad.jpg\nfuente: metascopios.com \nhe aquí:\n\nLondres, 14 de diciembre de 1799.  \n   Aún recuerdo todos los hechos que acontecieron en aquellas fechas, ya en vísperas de lo que sería un nuevo siglo en la vida de todos nosotros. La emoción, la alegría, y la expectativa de lo que sería el nuevo siglo abundaban por doquier en las calles de Londres. O al menos eso era lo que se veía a simple vista.\n   La verdad, es que la realidad que nos invadía en aquellos tiempos era otra. Una más oscura y preocupante de lo que cualquier persona se pudiese imaginar. Ya que nadie en lo absoluto había visto precedente alguno de la sangrienta masacre que se llevaría a cabo aquella, la última noche del siglo XVIII.\n   Pero no es aquí donde todo comenzará, sino un par de semanas antes de que todo aquello se llevase a cabo. Yo me encontraba en horas de labor en ese momento, algunos de mis compañeros y yo nos encontrábamos en uno de los edificios de los suburbios bajos donde se nos había informado que desde hacía ya muchas horas extraños ruidos, gritos y fuertes estruendos se escuchaban provenientes de uno de los apartados donde se suponía, vivía sola una mujer ya un poco mayor de edad.\n   Resultaba que nadie había logrado avistar a la señora desde hacía ya algunos días, pero al ser ella una persona muy apacible y tranquila, pensaban que sólo quería estar sola en casa o que podría estar algo enferma. Por lo que periódicamente alguno de sus vecinos se acercaba para saber cómo se encontraba esta, y al escuchar respuesta a cambio seguían con su camino.\n   Pero esta vez en lugar de una simple respuesta comenzaron a escuchar extrañas voces ninguna proveniente de ella a primera impresión, y sumado a esto extraños sucesos que parecían provocar temor en el resto de las personas en la vivienda.\n   Como policías se suponía que debíamos revisar aquel sitio y ver qué era lo que estaba sucediendo. Pero… con toda seguridad puedo decirte que esa vez, fue un completo error.\n   Lo que conseguimos dentro de aquel edificio no fue una apacible viejecita o una tranquila mujer mayor, no. Aquello con lo que nos encontramos dentro fue con una especie de mujer completamente deforme en un aparente estado de descomposición. \n   Para personas como nosotros que estábamos tan acostumbrados a ver los horrores y las brutales escenas que las personas eran capaces de realizar pensábamos haberlo visto todo en esta vida. Pero estábamos completamente equivocados, y con creces.\n   Nada en la formación como policía o en los años de ejercicio te preparan para encarar a un ente con el cual sólo podrías encontrarte en las más oscuras de tus pesadillas y muchos menos podrías saber cómo lidiar con ello.\n   Fue cuando por primera vez tuve contacto con el mundo paranormal, y donde descubrí que en este mundo asechaban cosas más espantosas y peligrosas que los propios humanos.\n   Sí, tal vez te preguntarás cómo estás leyendo estas palabras luego de haberme topado con tal horrible criatura. Pues bueno, esa es la parte interesante de este relato.\n   Una vez dentro de aquella habitación, mis cuatro compañeros y yo tratamos de sobreponernos a la enorme peste que había en ese lugar y al pánico que nos provocaba la criatura, ya que en ese momento no éramos capaces ni de mover tan siquiera un músculo. \n   Petrificados y agonizantes, dos de mis compañeros fueron acabados en sólo cuestión de segundos. Ni siquiera pude ver con claridad el momento en el que aquella bruja se situó a su lado y rajó sus estómagos, dejando libres así todos sus intestinos que se derramaron por el piso creando un enorme charco de sangre a nuestro alrededor.\n   Los otros dos, espantados por la escena procuraron escapar del recinto por la puerta que aún yacía abierta, pero una vez más, aquella cosa se movió velozmente colocándose así justo frente a la única esperanza de vida que teníamos. \n   La bruja mostró lo que parecía ser una horripilante y retorcida mueca en forma de sonrisa. Sentía como estaba disfrutando cada segundo, cada mínimo instante que pasábamos a su merced. Era casi como si se deleitara en nuestra desesperación, como si eso la alimentara, o la fortaleciera.\n   Momentos después de eso se abalanzó una vez más sobre mis compañeros quienes cayeron de inmediato victimas de su gran e inigualable fuerza, pereciendo sin más. Yaciendo ahora junto a los otros dos, tirados sobre la fría y reseca madera de aquel piso.\n   Sólo quedaba yo, quien ahora se preparaba para sus últimos instantes en este plano, quien guardaba su último aliento para el momento en el que ella se dignara a acabar con mi vida. Sí, estaba completamente resignado a morir en sus manos, y faltaban sólo escasos segundos para que en verdad fuese así. Hasta que… de repente, dos disparos se escucharon provenientes de la puerta donde anteriormente estaba situada aquella bruja.\n   Al observarla de nuevo pude ver dos orificios en su cuerpo por el cual comenzó fluir un líquido extraño, oscuro que destilaba un olor nauseabundo. Fue entonces cuando comenzó a chillar cual animal herido. Cada vez sus gritos se hacían más y más estruendosos. \n  Y en ese momento, escuché por primera vez aquella voz que aplacó de inmediato el interminable e insoportable quejar de aquel monstruo.\n   — ¿De qué es lo que te estás quejando, vieja asquerosa? —dijo en tono desafiante.\n   El rostro de la bruja se retorció con fuerza y sus ojos ardieron de furia cuando decidió abalanzarse en una embestida desenfrenada contra su agresor, quien para ese momento aún no había logrado avistar. Todo gracias a que mi cuerpo seguía paralizado del miedo.\n—\t¡Eh idiota! ¿Es que piensas seguir ahí parado? ¡Muévete de una puta vez!\n   Por fin logré reaccionar luego de ese grito y mis piernas volvieron bajo mi mando y mi voluntad, la cual era marcharme de aquel sitio de inmediato. Cuando me di la vuelta me encontré de frente con el dueño de aquella voz.\n   Se trataba de un hombre de aproximadamente treinta años de edad, vestido con una especie de traje parecido al que usaban los padres de la iglesia católica. Algo curioso de ver ya que en aquel había ninguna iglesia por los alrededores. En su mano llevaba lo que parecía una especie de revolver con un extraño grabado en el cañón. Pero de todos los detalles que pude haber observado en aquel instante, no podía evitar notar la gran sonrisa que llevaba al enfrentar a aquel monstruo tan atemorizante.\n   —Ahora, si podremos bailar como es debido querida.\n   — ¡Tú!... ¡pagarás caro el haberme herido escoria!\n   La bruja volvió a embestir al hombre, pero este lo esquivo ágilmente estampándose así contra el muro el cual estalló en un sinfín de astillas que salieron disparadas en todas direcciones. Una de ellas logró alcanzar una de mis piernas tirándome al suelo por el dolor.\n      La sangre que salía de mi pierna llamó la atención de aquella mujer, distrayéndola lo suficiente como para que el hombre le asestara un par de tiros más por la espalda.\n   —Oye cariño —llamó su atención con una burla—. Esto es entre tú y yo. \n   Y así, sacando un pequeño frasco de sus bolsillos, lo aventó hacia ella el cual una vez la golpeó, se quebró llenándola de su contenido. Este a su vez hizo reacción con la ya dañada piel de aquella vieja. \n   Vi como esa cosa horrible y decrépita comenzó a arder en una combustión espontánea, liberando consigo una gran cantidad de humo. También me fijé una vez más en el sospechoso tipo que la había encarado. Sus lentes ardían con el reflejo de las llamas al igual que la piel de la bruja, y en su rostro se veía una gran sonrisa llena de satisfacción y confianza. \n   Aquel hombre no sólo había enfrentado y derrotado a esa criatura tan espantosa, sino que también disfrutó cada mínimo segundo de su lucha. Saltaba a simple vista lo muy acostumbrado que estaba al combate, y lo vivo que se sentía en esos momentos.\n   —Jajaja… ¿lo viste? No eras la única que se sabía un par de trucos —se burló. Al llegar a la puerta de entrada se acercó a mí y se agachó —. ¿Te encuentras bien? —peguntó señalando mi herida.\n   —Eso… eso creo –respondí aún atónito por lo que acababa de presenciar.\n   —Está bien. En ese caso es mejor que me marche ya.\n   —Oye… ¡espera! \n   El hombre devolvió la mirada.\n   —¿Quién… quién eres? –pregunté sin más. Él sólo volvió la mirada al 0frente y encendiendo una pipa contestó.\n   —Nuestra lucha… no es contra sangre ni carne, sino contra gobernadores malignos y autoridades del mundo invisible, contra fuerzas poderosas de este mundo tenebroso y contra espíritus malignos de los lugares celestiales.\n   Con esas palabras terminó marchándose la persona que salvó mi vida. Pero aquella… no sería la única vez que el destino entrelazaría nuestros caminos.",
