That truth stayed with me. That’s why I’m here.\n\nI’m speaking up about suicide prevention and awareness because silence is costing lives. Because many of us were raised to “be strong” and “endure,” even when everything inside us is falling apart. Because too many young people feel like they must carry everything alone.\n\nThis is not about statistics or social media noise. This is about real people. Real lives. Real moments where one message, one call, one “How far? Are you really okay?” can change everything.\n\nIf you’re reading this and you’re struggling, please hear me: You are not broken, you are not dramatic, you are not weak, you’re human and you deserve support.\n\nAnd if you’re reading this and you’re okay right now, please check on someone.       "body": "I can't even believe I had left steemit for 6 months. That's a whole lot. A child that was born six months ago is all grown up right now.\n\nIt pained me that I had to leave for such a long time but trust me when I say it was never my intention to leave.\n\nSteemit has been one of those places I loved so much but life happens and we either give up entirely or rest and pick it up again from where we left it.\n\nI don't know if this calls for a little celebration but I just wanted to say I AM BACK. I am back to sharing my life and journey but before anything else, I want to share what I have been doing.\n\nI have been looking for money like a thief. 😂 Yes, all of us are looking for money because money makes life much easier but then, a lot of us are looking for it more than others are looking for it. But why is that?\n\nI wrote a book.\nI got monetized on Facebook.\nI learned and mastered AI.\nEtc.\n\nThose are the ones worth applauding, I think I should state them first but how about the others? Having to pay too many debts, getting sick etc.\n\nAt the end of the day; thank God for life and a new year. \n\nSo, this year, I'll do better.\nWhat exactly am I doing?\n\nAdvocating for suicide awareness and prevention; make at least one post on steemit about growth etc.\n\nI hope I don't fall out again.\nI hope things get better.\nI hope this year brings blessings and happiness to everyone.\n\nMost importantly, I hope I am welcome back to steemit. This is me starting again despite the fact that I have fallen off a lot of times. I am starting again with hope and less strength or zeel but I hope God’s grace carries me.\n\nHappy New Year, Everyone.😍",

Yes, I am from Nigeria and spicing things up with my pen sometimes isn't a bad idea.\n\nMy people, sometimes na when life show you shege, your brain go begin dey work like say na engine wey dem just service.\n\nThis post na personal one. I be writer. But for like three months straight, I no fit write anything. Blank brain. Na so I go dey look my screen dey cry sometimes. E weak me.\n\nBut something happen recently. One night wey NEPA carry light again, I just carry candle siddon for corner. Breeze dey blow, everywhere calm. I carry my old jotter begin read tori wey I write years ago. Na there I see say, “Ah, this girl sabi write!”\n\nI pick pen begin write wetin I dey feel that night. I no even plan say e go make sense. But when I finish, I shock. The pain wey I bin dey feel just pour out like say na water. I feel light. I feel human. I feel like me again.\n\nCreativity no be only when idea dey sweet. Sometimes na your own struggle dey birth your best work. I learn say inspiration no dey always come with smile. Sometimes e come with tears. Sometimes, silence. Sometimes, frustration.\n\nSo this post na reminder: if you dey go through dark time, no throw your pen or brush away. Create inside the darkness. You go shock say light dey wait for you for there.\n\nI dey share this one make e ginger person wey don almost give up. Try again. Write. Draw. Sing. Even if na nonsense you feel say you dey do, do am. Na from there greatness dey start.\n\nYou fit even turn your pain to product. Turn your experience to expression. That one na real art.\n\nMake we no let pressure of perfect creation kill the small joy of just creating. Because na there healing dey. But then I took a trip by myself to Badagry, in Lagos, and it totally flipped my world upside down.\n\nI remember getting on a bus from Mile 2 with just my backpack, a notebook, and this feeling that I wanted a new experience. I wasn't going for a chilled-out vacation. I wanted to *feel* something real – to feel part of history, to meet some folks, and maybe see a side of myself I didn't even know was there.\n\nBadagry is bursting with stories. The kind they don't teach you in school. I went to the Slave Museum and that really sad place, Point of No Return. Walking the same route that thousands of enslaved Africans were forced to take to the sea... man, it hit me hard. You could almost hear their silence echoing around you. You could feel their strength, the power within them. And somehow, it felt like the weight of everything shifted onto my shoulders, like I was sharing their burden. I felt sad, but also motivated.\n\nIt wasn't all heavy stuff, though. I ate fresh coconut by the lagoon, watched the sunset turn the water to fire, and talked to people from the area who had smiles that could light up a room. I even made a friend – a young girl called Zainab – and she shared stories her grandma told her. You can't find stuff like that on the internet! Talking to her I felt like I was there with her as it was happening.\n\nThat drive across the country really showed me that life itself is the best teacher. We grow because of books, sure, but also from places, people, and those moments that catch you off guard. It's the unexpected things that shape you just as much as anything you can put your finger on.\n\nSo, if you're feeling stuck in a rut, maybe you don't need a new job or a fancy course. Maybe you just need a new view. A different path. Just get away and see. Maybe you will like what you see.\n\nTraveling isn't always about fancy hotels and expensive dinners. Sometimes, it's about waking up and seeing the things you didn't even know you were missing in your life. It was like a breath of fresh air when you were drowning. Getting away will help you find what you were missing. You realize that it was there the whole time.",

      "body": "It's funny how many of us go around saying, ‘I'm just not a creative person’. Honestly, I think that's a load of baloney we tell ourselves. You don't have to be Picasso or sing like Beyoncé to be creative. All it takes is a little guts.\n\nI wasn't always sitting here typing away, let me tell you. The thought of a blank page used to give me the jitters. Then I just decided, what the heck, and started writing a story about growing up. Nothing fancy, really basic stuff. It wasn't a masterpiece, not even close. But I made it. And you know what? As I kept at it, things started changing. The ideas started popping into my head faster, the words came out easier, and I actually started believing I could be creative.\n\nThat's when I figured out that creativity is like going to the gym. The more you work at it, the stronger you become. If you sit on the couch all day, well, you get the idea.\n\nNow, I write in a journal. I scribble short stories. I even make beaded jewelry and record goofy poems on my phone. I stopped caring so much about getting everything perfect and started focusing on just letting myself express whatever I was feeling.\n\nCreativity isn't about being flawless. It's about showing up, playing around, trying new things, messing up, and not giving up.\n\nSo, if you're reading this and thinking, ‘Nope, not me, I'm not creative, I'm going to throw down a challenge’. Do one creative thing right now. Anything works! Dance like a goofball in your living space. Write a tiny two-sentence poem. Make a crazy drawing of your food. You can call your boyfriend “Amore” (which means love), “Tesoro” (treasure), or “Bello mio” (my handsome one). Even saying “Goodnight” sounds romantic — “Buonanotte, amore mio.” You go just dey smile like mumu when you hear am. 😅\n\nNow, French is on another level. That one is full of sweetness. As an online worker, most of my clients are abroad, so while I sleep, they’re usually active. I rubbed my eyes, stretched a bit, and replied to a few emails. One client had some corrections; another wanted a quick design done before the day ended.\nBy 8:30 a.m., I finally got out of bed, brushed my teeth, and made some hot pap which I enjoyed with biscuits. Nothing fancy, just something to keep my belly calm. NEPA had taken light since 2 a.m., so I powered on my small generator. I shook my head; this fuel money dey choke.\n\nBy 9 a.m., I was fully seated in front of my laptop and phone, switching between them depending on the task. I had a flyer to design for a business coach and two blog posts to write for a foreign client. My data had finished overnight, so I quickly turned on my backup SIM for hotspot.\n\nBy 1 p.m., hunger no gree me again. I dashed out to the buka nearby to grab jollof rice. I came back sweating, but at least I had food. I ate while listening to a podcast about building a successful freelance career. Learning never stops in this hustle.\n\nBy 3 p.m., I continued work. This time, I was editing a short video for a client’s Instagram. Just then, my phone rang, another client asking if I could build a simple website. I was tired, but I said yes. You don’t say no in this game.\n\nBy 7 p.m., power was finally restored. I turned off the gen and smiled to myself. But my day wasn’t over yet; I still needed to create content for my own Upwork and Instagram page.\n\nBy 11 p.m., my back was aching, eyes were heavy, but my heart was full.
