      "body": "Let me start off by recognizing the greatness of Cristiano Ronaldo. Cristiano is one of the most influential players of this generation and one of the most impressive goal scorers in history. He evolved a lot throughout the years. He did not necessarily get better but he always found a way to stay in the spotlight. He knew he lost the ability to dribble opponents, but he made up for that with a continuous and massive goal scoring record. He was never the man to execute the most difficult pass that no one else saw coming but when the ball was up in the air in the penalty area his opponents were definitely in big trouble.  Because of his ability to adapt to how he changed physically and how skilled he actually is, you can say Cristiano always found a way to appear as one of the best even when he wasn’t. In his own way, Cristiano is a genius(or someone around him must be). For years, he managed to put himself on the same level as a man who is far ahead of him in most aspects of the game. The Cristiano-Messi rivalry was good for El Clasico, marketing, and the sport in general but that does not mean that it really made any sense.\n\nIt made no sense because for an actual rivalry to exist, the two players involved should at least provide the same or similar services. No Real Madrid fan in the world considers Cristiano Ronaldo the team’s playmaker. There are two reasons behind this:\n\n    He is far from being a player with exceptional vision, passing accuracy, and dribbling technique which gets him out of tough situations.\n    There are several players on his team who can be far better playmakers.\n\nSo, Cristiano is excused from one of the major tasks in attack.\n\nOn the other side of the table you have possibly the best playmaker in history. Lionel Messi has Youtube compilations which last for hours. 90% of the passes in those videos leave you thinking three things:\n\n    Wow! That’s an impressive pass.\n    How on earth did he see that?\n    How can he always pass exactly to the player’s feet?\n\nOne of the least talked about skills of Lionel Messi is his ability to chip the ball from one place to another while maintaining a ridiculous accuracy rate. This same chip is something that Cristiano does not do. He does not really know how to. When was the last time you’ve seen Cristiano chip a ball perfectly to his teammate or basically chip a goalkeeper?\n\nExactly.\n\nHe does not have the technique for it and for big parts of the world this seems pretty fine. Yet, they continue to somehow compare the two while disregarding the major difference in skill.\n\nAnother skill-related aspect is dribbling. I think this will always be the worst aspect of Cristiano’s post 2012 career. Cristiano’s goals that came from extreme dribbling talent are so few that fans actually remember them. One of them was actually against Galatasaray a few years back. It was a pretty good goal just like the remaining five or six.\n\nOn the other hand, you have a footballer who scored several goals by dribbling all the way from midfield to the opponents goalkeeper dropping 3-4 players in the process. And if he didn’t score, there is a big chance he provided a clear cut chance to his teammate. The thing is, this often happens 3-4 times per match as well depending on the opponent.\n\nDo football fans anticipate the same from Cristiano? No, because he literally has Youtube compilations of himself falling to the ground trying to dribble. There is nothing shameful in him not being able to do that. What is shameful is watching the game for years yet somehow claiming that they both have the same effect on a football team.\n\nYou have a player like Lionel Messi who can drop to Busquets’ position, take the ball, pass, dribble two players, create space, find a teammate in an impossible position, then either start over if the ball is intercepted or score himself. He does that for 90 minutes. He operates and controls the entire field. He sees everyone all the time, he has the ability to get past anyone, and his passing and finishing are second to none.\n\nSo where did this debate truly come from? It came from one aspect of the game. It is an aspect that had been blown out of proportion to fit certain footballers. These are footballers who simply do not provide more. I am talking about goal scoring.\n\nCristiano Ronaldo is definitely one of the most prolific goal scorers in history. I am often impressed by the things he does. His positioning for those “tap-ins” is always on point. He jumps higher than any human being alive for a header. He is a very unique forward. He earned people’s respect by continuously finding a way to score.\n\nBut even when it comes to scoring, there is one thing that doesn’t make any sense as well(keep in mind that their numbers are close and blah blah).\n\nLionel Messi can get out of horrible situations and manage to score. This is something that Cristiano is not capable of doing. Cristiano’s argument stopped at “he scores headers” because frankly this is the only argument that stood a chance and actually seems valid.\n\nThe scope with Lionel Messi, however, is far bigger than “he scores headers”. Fans would not be surprised if Lionel Messi dribbled half a team and scored. Every freekick by Lionel Messi is a threat to the goalkeeper. His ability to curve the ball and find the goal out of an inch of space is breathtaking. But there is one goal which sums up how impossible Lionel Messi is.\n\nDuring Barcelona’s match versus Bayern Munich in 2015’s Champions League, Lionel Messi scored one of his best goals ever. On paper it said: “dribbled Boateng and scored”. On your television screen it said “impossible”.\n\nTo explain what happened you need to look at the dribble first. The element of tricking an opponent truly describes intelligence. In Lionel Messi’s career, he has dribbled to his left way more than he has dribbled to his right. Well, obviously, since right is his weak side. He did not trick a random defender. As a matter of fact, he tricked possibly the best defender in the world at the time. That was difficult to execute but not as difficult as what happened next.\n\nI want you to grab a ball and go outside. Kick the ball slightly towards your weak foot and then, as the ball is moving, try to chip the ball the way Messi did. Go ahead, try it.\n\nYou looked like a moron and failed drastically? I thought you would.\n\nThis is one of the most difficult things to do in football because the body is never prepared for something like that. It is simply against physics. Then again, Lionel Messi owns physics.\n\nMessi chipped the best(and one of the tallest) goalkeeper in the world using his weak foot right after that dribble. How did he have the audacity to do that? He knows he has the ability to do that. Just like he redefined physics, he redefined what the human body can do.\n\nCristiano’s argument stands at he jumps high and scores headers because frankly every other argument, big or small, falls against Lionel Messi.\n\nIt’s 2017 and people continue to dwell on this. Barcelona fans become very cocky for a reason. They watch both players week in week out. What their mind anticipates from Lionel Messi has nothing to do with what their mind anticipates from Cristiano Ronaldo. At the end of the day, people expect Cristiano to score a lot and that he does pretty well. On the other hand, people expect Messi to score, dribble, create, entertain, and do what’s physically impossible.\n\nThing is, Barcelona fans are not alone in this. You have at least 4-5 Real Madrid supporting friends who would’ve taken Messi in for Cristiano in a heartbeat. Because similar to the Barcelona fans who prefer Isco and Modric over Barcelona’s midfield, those Real Madrid fans simply respect what football is about and that is footballers performing at their absolute best, in every aspect of the game, in order to help the team out.\n\nThose Real Madrid fans are enough indication that the debate never existed but it was generated by the people who make the most profit out of it. It was generated by goal obsessed football fans. These are the same fans who won’t recognize players like Iniesta and Zidane for what they provide because they often weren’t the last people to touch the ball before it hits the net. These are the same fans who magnified Cristiano’s goal scoring record in order to minimize everything else a great footballer is supposed to do or at least have the skill to do",

However, I want to share with you something that I changed and had it ending up changing my whole university experience.\n\nA very important thing to do before leaving your house every morning is leaving your house problems behind with it.\n\nFamily issues, girlfriend drama, roommate troubles, a broken dishwasher.. just leave all of this behind. Don’t carry all of this heavy load with you to class or the office.\n\nAlways leave focused on the tasks that you have to get done for the day rather than fueling yourself with negative energy which will automatically make you less motivated and thus less productive.\n\nGiving each chore, class, project the time and effort it deserves is important to get a good result out of it. Your personal life can wait and usually things end up getting resolved at the end of the day. So, why waste this day?\n\nShifting your focus somewhere else and ending up being productive will also give you a sense of satisfaction and thus a boost in your mood which in turn will make you more critical in solving the other issues going on in your life.\n\nThis worked for me, what other advice would you give for a more productive day?",

      "body": "Why don’t you believe in God? I get that question all the time. I always try to give a sensitive, reasoned answer. This is usually awkward, time consuming and pointless. People who believe in God don’t need proof of his existence, and they certainly don’t want evidence to the contrary. They are content with their belief. They even say things like “it’s true to me” and “it’s faith.”\nI still give my logical answer but it doesn’t matter anyway. They do not wish to listen to what you have to say. Their ears are hearing nonsense, blasphemy, shameful words coming out of my mouth..\nThe problem is not whether I was right and they were wrong, it doesn’t matter.. The art of listening to arguments that defy your believes does not exist in the Middle East.\nIn fact, there are laws that can put you in jail just for saying that you don’t believe in an almighty power living in heaven.\nSome countries might behead you for it..\nThey force you into religion even though it is against what you stand for. They want you to practice in a blind subjective way, it doesn’t  matter what you are mumbling as long as everybody sees you praying with your community.. Maintaining appearance is very important in that part of the world.\nWhy can’t we listen to new ideas? Why are we blindfolded with old traditions that we can’t even accept other peoples opinions..\nIt’s not a matter of who is right or wrong, it is a matter of coexisting with others, who think that maybe there are different answers out there..\nI don’t want to convince you that he doesn’t exist, and I certainly don’t want you to preach me that he does.. My only hope is to be able to communicate my thoughts freely without being judged or punished.. To be fair, Barcelona is in fact going through a very tough situation. But as the problems get bigger, the outcry becomes more and more ridiculous. And what do you do in this situation? You find yourself reading tweets and going: “You do know it is fine to hate the board yet love, respect, and have faith in the players and the club?”. With all the anger involved, people lose sense of what the word support means. So the hate which is directed towards the management suddenly becomes directed at anything that possibly represents Barcelona. I do not really understand how that happens but overreaction is what it is and it carries different forms.\n\nRobert Fernandez went out to say: “After Verratti, we focused on Paulinho”. And therefore, we signed Paulinho.\n\nPaulinho’s transfer caused the worst possible reaction by Barcelona fans worldwide. I read twitter feeds, Facebook feeds, Instagram comments, and if there was any platform in the world where Barcelona was being discussed I would be reading that one too. My eyes told me nothing different than what I already knew: No one wanted Paulinho.\n\nAs a matter of fact, no one outside the Barcelona offices truly wanted Paulinho. Well, there is one person who wanted the transfer to happen, and it was Paulinho himself.\n\nPaulinho spent the summer discussing how big of a chance this is, how proud he is to be linked to the club and all that good stuff. Personally, all I ever thought about was: “Okay, you seem like a nice dedicated guy, but let’s not…”\n\nPaulinho is a result of the board’s lack of options and incompetence. Barcelona fans were never as angry about a transfer because this one couldn’t have come at a worse time. Paulinho was announced right after we were obviously outplayed by Real Madrid. You know, the same Real Madrid that is currently the best team in the world. There is also that one incident where Barcelona lost its second best player and of course the fact that the club could not sign Verratti and the Dembele & Coutinho ‘news’ being too messy and unclear. The man really could not have come at a worse time.\n\nPaulinho doesn’t help himself either. He is one of those guys who went to China. These are the players who will continue to be recognized as players who did not care about the glory as much as they cared about their bank account. What made it worse is that his reputation in the premier league does not help him either. It all looks fishy and unimpressive.\n\nIt all came full circle with Paulinho’s signing. The Brazilian became a symbol of the entire club’s failure, not just the board. How can you get people to love or take in a player that arrived in such a setting? It’s simple, you cannot.\n\nPaulinho is a result of chaos, anger, and failure. Well, at least that’s how he looks like.\n\nIn reality, he is not any of this. He is just a player who received an offer to play at one of the most impressive clubs in the world and live in a gorgeous city. Also, he did not play a single game for the club yet. So, as much as everyone, including myself, does not trust the board’s decisions, a player should be evaluated based on his dedication to the club and what he actually achieves.\n\nAfter Paulinho’s career became completely irrelevant by him moving to China, the world decided that this man deserves another chance in Europe and we are the club which gave him that chance. No, it was not a good decision, not even close. It was not good because there were countless better options. But, to say I know anything about Paulinho would be a huge lie.\n\nAs a matter of fact, I do not think anyone gave him any type of attention ever since he moved to China, and rightfully so. The details about Paulinho’s career there are so scarce that you will only find some irrelevant stats about him and a couple of articles which may not be exactly accurate at all. There is also that “he is alright for Brazil” statement which does not tell much either. This only indicates that no one really knows anything yet. Sometimes we sign far better players yet we also know that adapting to Barcelona is a task on its own and evaluating a transfer before the season even started seems a bit over the top.\n\nValverde will get him settled soon enough and he will play his heart out and only then will anything about Paulinho matter. His spell at Spurs does not matter, his effort for Brazil does not matter, whatever he did in China does not matter and why the board even thought about signing him does not matter.\n\nThe only thing that matters is that when Paulinho puts on an official match shirt and enters a match for FC Barcelona, he realises that he has the fans’ support and therefore should do the impossible to put the club back where it belongs.\n\nHe should have the fans’ support because this was never about him and this decision, regardless of its outcome, was never his own.\n\nHe should play his heart out because he plays for the greatest club in the world and in a season like this, we need every single player to be at his absolute best",

I didn’t care much for the two movies starring Angelina Jolie (come to think of it, they were awful, despite a good performance from Jolie), so I was certainly looking forward to seeing Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, and she nails it. Vikander looks nothing like Jolie, but she is both likable and believable in the role, and we find ourselves rooting for her from the word go. As the daughter of a passionate adventurer who went missing a few years ago, Croft finds herself with new clues that could lead her to the location of her father. As our heroine globe-trots from London to somewhere in Japan, this new “Tomb Raider” uncovers something fresh in the franchise: an unformed explorer, lacking polish, vulnerable to violence and helplessly human. And unlike the previous films, this one tackles a more straightforward approach and rarely feels forced. Is it a game-changer? I wouldn’t say that. Is it fun? You bet. With a solid cast, good story, and a pulse-pounding climax (think “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” type of fun), “Tomb Raider” will most definitely satisfy fans of the video game. I always say that if you’re going to do it again, at least do it right. And this movie gets it right.       "body": "“In Syria” is a devastating drama that further reaffirms the fact that Diamand Bou Abboud is one of the best Lebanese actresses in the industry. Belgian director Philippe Van Leeuw shot the entire film in an apartment building to depict the lives of a group of Syrian people who try their very best to survive, while the war rages outside. Everything about this situation is so vividly depicted, and so intense, that it holds you spellbound for 90 minutes. Something crucial happens early on (and I will not reveal it), but like any good drama, matters of conscience and ethics come into play, and that’s what makes “In Syria” so relatable, and so difficult to watch at times. The acting is terrific (especially Bou Abboud and Hiam Abbas who steal every scene they appear in), the camerawork almost invisible, adding to a feeling that everything happening in front of us is real, and we’re simply watching life unfold. And just like real life, what happens during the course of the film is almost impossible to predict. “In Syria” is a tense drama, brilliantly acted, and not to be missed.
