      "body": "Thank you for those encouraging words.\n\nReading back on all these posts, I'm seriously considering a re-think... but don't hold your breath, I'm going to have a break first.\n\nI got exceptionally discouraged by the lack of funds, but you know... one of my esteemed friends has said stop giving my writing away, just blog. I think I'll do that.\n\nThe thing is that now my book is out in public domain, it no longer has **value**. \n\nI **gave** that to steemit. \n\nIt was mine to give, but it had *value* before I put it out onto the Blockchain. \n\nNow it's there for all time, for everyone to see. It has no value now and the paltry rewards mean it really isn't worth my time posting.\n\nI'm not doing the same thing with the rest of my work. At some point, I'd like to be able to say to a mainstream publisher: *Here, this is my platform, this is what I'm able to bring to the table.* \n\nIf I show them 59c four times a day, I'll be laughed out of any negotiations.\n\nTo that end, there's no more of my stories going up. *Children Of Sol* is ongoing, I'm very enthusiastic about it, as I am with *Finley Moran - Maelstrom Born* and (Working title) *Bikers*. \n\nThey were all going to be made available on steemit, exclusively as I write them - quite a draw as my friends, fans and followers *DO* come here to see what I'm doing, even if they haven't posted yet.\n\nI'm afraid I'm too old, too long in the tooth and too damned stubborn to go chasing after people \"with influence\".       "body": "Steemit is brutal.  @SteemCleaners is operated by some very influential people.  They are friends with the people who are always at the top of the trending lists.  \n\nWho will make the most rewards is often already decided before the post is even written.  \n\nIf anyone wants to make a living here they need to make friends with the leaders of the trails and well organized groups.  Then it doesn't matter what you say.\n\nSteemit isn't growing much and almost everyone who tries it quits.  I have been here as long as you and I have seen many great author disappear after they learn how steemit really functions.  \n\nThe value of Steem isn't going to go up the way things are, the only thing that keeps it from hitting rock bottom is the is that fact is already it pretty much rock bottom.\n\nThere is actually only hand full of people you need to impress here to make money.  Of the 10,000 active users, seriously there are less than 50 people that matter for a post to make over $20.00.  And that $20 is very misleading as once it's cashed out it's only a few dollars.  \n\nGetting a lot of votes doesn't even mean people like what you wrote because of the bots.  Getting views doesn't mean much either since bots can open windows too and I have heard some people say they open tabs without reading.\n\nit really sucks if you want to reach the world outside of Steemit.  And tougher to know if you make a difference.\n\nView counts are only views of people logged into Steemit.  So the good news maybe many people read your post but are not logged in.\n\nI have always liked you posts,  I voted for many.   I'm addicted to Steemit. The rush of waking up to see my post made money is very unique even if is a dollar.   \n\nThe best revenge is success.  And you got that online much more than most others here who clear $50 or $100 often.\n\nIt's like the trails have their fav's who without steemit would be nobody and they mostly do good things for the people already comitted to the platform.  \n\nWhile they ignore the authors who actually have a real reach outside of the platform.\n\nJust keep writing.  You never know when a whale will read you post.  I do.",

      "body": "By all accounts @ozchartart does not deserve its rewards.   That account is most likely run by more than one person and those people are highly involved in guilds and trails.  It is certainly part of a group.\n\nThere was a guy here months ago named @yoda who did pretty much the same thing but, in my opinion at least, better.  And he got flagged by Dan and other whales saying he made too much rewards for what he did.  \n\nHe disappeared.  Then a month later @ozchartart starts doing same thing banking rewards for screenshots.\n\nThat is not fair.  \n\nI am not saying that big rewards for little effort is not fair.  It is actually.  But what is not fair is pushing out one users with a good following simply to allow the next guy.\n\nSteemit is not a scam.\n\nLike anything worth having it takes effort and or luck.  If steemit was **\"fair\"** what ever that is, no one i know has ever actually experienced in real life; than no one would strive to be whale.\n\nIf no one strives to be a whale the value of steem token would be worthless.",

      "body": "*\"If we were to have up votes only then we could have powerful people up voting everything their friends or family wrote to high values regardless of quality, and those friends and family would accumulate power rapidly, and they would join in and do the same.\"*\n\nThis has been happening since day one.  There are several popular users here who are where they are because the powerful people help put them there.  \n\nGirlfriends of devs, family members etc..  It's not to say they have bad posts unworthy of rewards but they certainly got very few views,  had almost ZERO interaction with community, less than 100 followers and yet banked THOUSANDS of dollars over the months.  It doesn't add for those who busted their finger tips typing out quality, interacting and voting.  \n\nMany people are banking huge rewards without taking part in the community, they aren't commenting or voting in ways that create a stronger community yet they have no problems sending hundred of Steem to Poloniex every week.\n\nI could point out several people whom I suspect have bots trailing them for no other reason than friends and family.  \n\nI have seen crap comments earn more the stellar posts because of this.\n\nI call it\n# **Steemit Cronyism** \n\nIt won't be stopped because the people doing it are already too powerful.  Some of them are developers and in the top 10 whale and witness lists.\n\nIs it unfair?  Jeez.  What's the point of being successful if you can't bring you're loved ones with you?  \n\nIs it good for the community?   Nope, not the bigger picture in my opinion.  \n\nThere is a lot favoritism on steemit.  It's not all bad.  We all have favorites we blindly vote for once in a  while.\n\nWhat bothers me most and please see my past posts are people receiving rewards and not voting or commenting on posts outside of their own articles. \n\n# Takers need to be givers.  \n\nIf flagging people who take **WAY** more than they give should be flagged to help give to those who participate sure!!\n\nMaybe flagging those who don't give back after receiving so much should be a thing.\n\nGood post",
