I just wanted a blog for random posts etc.. this seemed like a nice place to do it, however I'm going to have to close up shop and move elsewhere.\n\nThe site is broken, completely, and for way too long. There's a lot of downtime.  Posts don't go through most of the time (notice my lack of activity), it's because when I click post, there's an eternal loading circle.       "body": "Today I got a text message alerting me that this lil game, Mario Kart World Tour, was ready to be installed. I guess I preregistered, so.. there ya go!\n\nIt's an automatic go forward, so don't worry about holding any buttons to go forward, break or whatever. You've got 2 ways to control it. Normal turning (which is for your toddlers playing on mom's phones?) and drifting. Yeah... do drifting...\n\nThe controls are pretty smooth. It almost feels natural to me. It will take some getting used to yes, but after that, it's like you ARE the control... does that make sense? Like.. you're an extension of it? I dunno... I think Nin did a good job with it, very nice rollout.\n\nThere are rankings, friends lists and multiplayer, but multiplayer is coming later. So for now, just add each other. I'm having issues with adding some people. My niece added me no problem, but she won't appear on my list. Will try later.\n\nThe rankings are the highlight of this app. I don't see any real way people are gonna be able to cheat. Macros? Nope.. TAS? Maybe... but each time you re-race, the people get in your way, new obstacles, weapons etc... Yeah I don't see TAS working. \n\nIt appears that we are all going to be separated into different servers. I'm 1st place tier 1 rank in my server. My niece's server shows someone entirely different (with a much lower score than mine). This game is not forgiving. If you get hit by a weapon, you are NOT going to beat any scores, period. If someone tosses a blue shell at you, might as well give up and restart the race. That's all there is to it. So luck factors into it, however that didn't stop me from trying. Here's my score for the time being. I'll be dishing it out all night to get it just a tad higher. I'm more than certain 15k or even 20k is very doable. I just suck right now. That's how I made my site. \n\nTrying to learn a new language to build a site from the ground up isn't practical for most people. I think this is why many tutorials on learning a language don't really work. The examples they use are only useful IN the tutorials and not for building from scratch. Trust me, I've tried. They gave us many years to try, I'm not seeing it happen...\n\nShort example. I knew very little of flash, but juuuuust enough... I never would have been able to build my site from the ground up. Period. I got lucky and found a template. I dissected it and learned how it worked. I skinned it, added my content and it worked. I even modified it a little. I became very comfortable using my new modified template. THAT is how most people make websites.\n\nSo I've been asking over the years on various sites and forums if anyone could help me convert or update the site to HTML5. \"Your site is too interactive, HTML5 can't do what your asking\".  Too interactive...? Does that mean the internet actually downgraded functionality in trade for a little energy savings? (notice I didn't say security, because it's actually less secure than Flash, with its unpatchable flaws, else you'll BREAK millions of sites overnight.)\n\nI kept trying here and there... stackoverflow ran me out with a torch mob for daring to be a new user asking such an incoherent request! Heck I provided the source files, what else do they want??? Am I not obese enough to frolick among their kind? (yes I was warned by many to AVOID stackoverflow... for this reason... but what had I to lose? I'm desperate). Forums turned me away, users would say, \"No one uses flash anymore\".... gahg uaghhh well DUH!!! Didn't you guys read the question?????????? I swear, idiots... everywhere. Forum post \"Can anyone help me convert my flash site to HTML5?\"\n\nMy last resort was to contact one of these \"for hire\" web developers who claim to be able to do it... I sent them my source files, they replied, \"It's going to take an extensive amount of research for us to be able to recreate this site\"....\n\nI'm going to plug my website again folks... hugclub.net... does that LOOK complicated??? It's popup windows and cartoons!!!!!!!!!!!!  How is this too hard for the professionals????????????????\n\nNext time you see a mainstream article raving about flash dying in 2020, link them to this little rant. Show them how ridiculous it is to urge everyone to do the impossible. Convert flash to HTML5 they say. Even wiki claims it can't truly be done unless you learn 2 more languages (JS and CSS3). And with all the real world examples of people not willing to help or claiming it can't be done, I think it's about time these article writers get off their high horses. They're nothing but corporate mouth pieces and probably know next to nothing about web development. I'd love to say \"Learn to Code\" to these asshats, but then again, I'm only \"semi-proficient\", just enough to create what you see on my hugclub.net site. It's probably more than what they're capable of to say the least... yeah...\n\nNow there was an attempt at making a tool to convert flash to HTML5. It was called Swiffy. Google failed to realize that 90% of flash content was Action Script 2.0... big problem there. I don't think Goog realized this. That's when the requests and complaints started pouring in... they were swamped with requests to add AS2 support in Swiffy. It just.. didn't... work. Google closed up swiffy, and very soon sites made in swiffy will cease to function at all because they are supposed to be pulling the runtimes that make these sites work. So guess what? People who converted their sites to HTML5 will have to do it AGAIN, this time from scratch.\n\nCongrats Micro$oft and Googus, ya dun goofed! Go ahead folks, swamp M$ and Goog with complaints about them killing off flash player. Better yet, go spam the hell out of Adobe for this fiasco. I made my way to the same spot once again, but this time I kinda taunted at the strange thing, and I think I made it upset so it actually started to move this time, and one final time, went back to my body. When the day began, I walked on over to that area, mom in the kitchen, nothing to fear. Turns out this thing was actually the water heater.%0A%0AI never told anyone about it. Some time after, I did have recurring dreams (and this time they were dreams) of this strange creature robot thing. I was in some donut shop, but the aisles of donuts were pretty big. I was alone in there, and this thing was there with me trying to find me. Weird dreams like that. Its metal arms kept trying to get me. Then I'd wake up. I wouldn't call them nightmares, they weren't scary. This time I was going out the window and onto the sidewalk, then up an electrical pole (where those transformers hang, they look like garbage cans).
