They get hyped and ready to start something new and make changes in their life. Gym memberships go through the roof and laptops fly off the shelves. New year, new clothes new life.\n\nEveryone is all fired up and ready to make a change. At least for a month or two, than wah waahh waaaaaaahhh, that fire goes out with a whimper. Gym memberships are canceled and laptops gather dust on shelves.\nDon't be like everyone else, don't let it happen to you. Make this year the best year of your life by making goals and actually following through with them.\n\nSo here's a list of ten cheats that will help you make your dreams a reality and accomplish your goals this year.\n\n1 Write It Down\n\nWriting down your goals gets them out from their mental state in which they are just floating around somewhere inside your head and in to the physical. You want to get them out into the physical because that's where you want to manifest them. Tangible goals are real goals.\n\n2 List the Reasons Why?\n\nList all the reasons why you want to accomplish your goal. Give your goal meaning beyond the usual selfish reasons. For example “I want to lose weight because I want to have more energy to play with my kids\" it's more meaningful than \"I want to lose weight to look sexy.\" Here are some more examples that pack more meaning “I want to make more money because it'll bring more comfort to my family.” “I want to have my own business because I'll get to enjoy more time with my family.” Having a great reason why you're setting a goal will make you work extra hard in attaining it.\n\n3 Be Specific\n\nThe more detailed your goal, the easier it is to accomplish. Instead of writing your goal as “I want to lose weight” rephrase it as “I've lost 20 pounds.” Instead of “I want to make more money” write down how much money you want, for example “I have $10,000 in my savings account”. You have to visualize it.\n\n4 The Present Tense Is Real\n\nYour mind does not live in the past or the future. You can dwell in the past and dream of the future but your mind lives in the present. Write down your goal as if you've already accomplished it, followed by the date that you will accomplish it. For example “I've lost 20 pounds. June 26” “I have $10,000 in my savings account, December 11.” This simple technique makes it easier to visualize your goal so it can materialize.\n\n5 Always Remember\n\nMake a several copies of your goals and tape them in places where you can see them daily. Tape them on your restroom mirror, your car dashboard or as a wallpaper on your phone. Remind yourself of your goals so you never lose sight of them.\n\n6 Steady Does It\n\nThe number one reason you might not accomplish your goal is because you are trying to do too much too fast. If you've never ran a mile in your life and you try to run a marathon you'll only hurt yourself and burn out. This also applies to your goal. Keep in mind that consistency trumps intensity. Start out with whatever you feel comfortable with and slowly increase the intensity. Working on your goal fifteen minutes a day is better than working on it for two hours one day a week.\n\n7 Take It Easy\n\nDo you have any bad habits that you'll like to get rid of this year? If so, don't quit them cold turkey because you'll be setting yourself up for failure. When you abruptly quit your mind will be shocked and rebound right back where it was. Don't quit negative habits replace them with positive ones. If you want to lose weight start by replacing only one item in your diet. For example instead of drinking soda replace it with a natural juice. Eat healthy just one day a week. You can still eat junk food the other six days. Slowly bring it down to zero days and you'll accomplish your goal of eating healthy everyday even if it takes you a year.\n\n8 Relax It's Not The End Of The World\n\nIf you fail to maintain your progress don't beat yourself over it. It happens, sometimes we stumble and fall. Take it as a learning experience, know why you failed, learn from it and move on.\n\n9 Celebrate\n\nWhenever you reach a milestone reward yourself. The Romans believe that a genius was a guiding spirit that was present with you from the moment you were first born. This spirit led you to create great things from your natural ability.\n\nWe tend to think of a geneiuses only those who are super academically incline and booksmart. Truth is anyone can be a genius. You can be an artistic, janitorial, electrical or whatever genius.\n\nAll you have to do is accept your genius and embrace it. If you belive that the spirit of god lives in you then there’s already a genius within. And deep down we all know what our genius is. But life is not always so simple. Not all of us are fortunate enough to know our genius from a young age. You won’t wake up one day and know what your genius is truly made of. There are many forces that put resistance between you and your genius for one reason or another. Usually as a way to have control over you. So heres my top 5 list of the forces that put resistance between you and your genius.\n\n## 1. Societal Institutions\n\nThis includes the government with its laws, churches and their sins, and schools with their grades. Basically anywhere were the majority of people participate in there will be a strong resistance between you and your genius. They will all have a say about what genius you must embrace usually not yours.\n\n## 2. Relationships\n\nYour family, lover, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances. They all want whats best for you and they’ll tell you what’s best for you. Most of the time whats best for you is them just parroting something societal institutions told them to. Other times is just their idea of what happiness is. Ironically your family are the ones who put the most resistance between you are your genius. They leverage the respect you have for them and your blood relationship to them. Other times you’ll just listen to them because they are suppose to be older and wiser than you. And might believe what they are telling you because you know you haveIf your genius is not that popular with your family they will put resistance between you and your genius by using shaming language. They’ll say phrases such as your genius been weird, crazy, that it won’t pay the bills or that they are just pipe dreams. Next time someone tells you that kindly tell them to fuck off.\n\n## 3.
