      "body": "Hello guys!\n\n On wednesday Manchester United played against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley. A game which was hyped up as it should've been but a game which was a dissapointment for me. Both teams had to be prepared mentally and physically.\n1st minute, long ball up top, Spurs are 1-0 up. A shocking start for United to which they responded immediately, well at least for the next 10 minutes. United were all over Spurs but couldn't score and fell back and everything started to go wrong from there. A lack of pressure from Mourinho's side ended up with countless opportunities for Spurs and Harry Kane. It is fair to say that Harry Kane didn't have his shooting boots on but he didn't even need them. A constant pressure from Spurs led up to a Phil Jones own goal, a goal which was coming. 1st half over, game over. So how did United lose?\n\n- Weak tactics from Mourinho\n\n![jose-mourinho.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUX55GxUchRy7rzyfv6F23SN8wb6jn9ufeQiy1QnPRZyL/jose-mourinho.jpg)\n\nBefore the game started Jose Mourinho sent the United side onto the pitch in a 4-2-3-1 formation. In a formation which has 2 deep lying midfielders and an attacking midfielder. For United the deep lying midfielders were Matic and Paul Pogba. It is known that Paul Pogba, despite his fantastic ability on the ball, can not play in double pivot midfield with Nemanja Matic, especially in the big games. A poor positioning from Pogba left a lot of space for Spurs in the midfield on which they capitalized and controlled the midfield for the entire game. Gaps which even could not be recovered by Nemanja Matic who also had an arguably worst game of his United career. With losing the midfield battle to Spurs United's midfield had no connection to their front 4 and it wasn't a surprise that United's best moments came from individual highlights instead of a well worked build up plays. \n\n- Disasterclass from Paul Pogba\n\n![Paul-Pogba-min.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmY35mNfDLGPak6sNf4EmK5ZqF88BghJreK9WUB5asySjW/Paul-Pogba-min.jpg)\n\nIt is fair to say that the game against Spurs will slot into Paul Pogba's worst games of his career so far. Going against the strong midfield of Tottenham Matic and Pogba needed to win the battle in the midfield. Yes, Paul Pogba did not play in his preferred position but at the end of the day he is a midfielder and should have the ability to play every position in the midfield. A bad decisions and horrible positioning from the frenchman cost United the space in midfield.\n\n- Bad calls from Jose\n\nTo add to Jose Mourinho's bad tactical preparation for the game, Jose made even worse substitutions. After being 2-0 down at the half time, United needed a spark for the 2nd half and a formation change was needed. Anthony Martial needed to get substituted for Ander Herrera and United needed to change their formation into a 4-3-3. Mourinho made 0 substitutions at the half and the game didn't see any changes in the gameplay. Mourinho's bad night got a worse turn when he subbed Fellaini on for Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata for Paul Pogba. Losing Lingard meant that United didn't have the ability to press Spurs centre backs anymore since Romelu Lukaku's pressure was non-existent. Losing Pogba, despite his terrible positioning, meant that United lost an ability to hold the ball in their possession and to create chances. To add to that Marouane Fellaini got immediately injured and needed to get subbed. In came Ander Herrera whose input didn't impact the game.\n\n\nThanks for reading, these were my thoughts about the game and I do think that if United wants to compete on the higher levels then Jose can not let these things happen again. Both teams are in good form and have a very good sides to put out on the field.  This is also a meeting between two rock solid defences which have conceded the least amount of goals in the Premier League for past couple of years. Spurs are missing their 2 key defensive players, Serge Aurier and Toby Alderweireld who are both out due to injuries. For United the absent players are Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly. I think that with the addition of Sanchez United has an extra edge over Spurs but this is a risky bet to make. This is a Belgian Cup game between Club Brugge and Standard Liege. I found this fixture and was bit surprised that it is on the market with this good of a price. Club Brugge is comfortably in the top position of the Belgian League and hasn't really got any reasons to rest their players for this cup game.       "body": "Hello!\n\nToday I decided to write a post about January transfer window. Barcelona was chasing the Brazilian since the last summer and they've finally got their man. Cost for this transfer was about 140 million Euros.\nI think that it's a brilliant transfer for Barcelona and I really rate how they've acted on the transfer market for the past few windows. Coutinho is a magician who slots perfectly into the combination of ballers that Barca already have. With Iniesta getting older Barca really needed that spark of a creativity into their midfield and I can already see those combination plays between Coutinho, Dembele, Suarez, Messi and Iniesta. \n\nRating 10/10\n\n- Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Arsenal\n\n![skysports-alexis-sanchez-manchester_4212240.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmamPfvQ4xEVwx3caTnj8NxReB6ryBdWvUyn7N8BTuRUxw/skysports-alexis-sanchez-manchester_4212240.jpg)\n\nThis one was really a surprise for me. I didn't believe United had a chance getting the Chilean but Jose has got his man and Alexis is a red. In my opinion this deal was good for both sides. Alexis wasn't really happy at Arsenal and needed a switch whereas Mkhitaryan didn't really have any problems with the club but just didn't perform for Mourinho. I can see Mkhi putting in great performances for the Wenger's side. As for Alexis I think United are getting a world class player and they can be even more happier that they snatched him just under the nose of Pep Guardiola. City is really a side that is dominating England right now and United needed to make that move to keep City from improving even more.\n\nAlexis to United rating 9/10\n\nMkhitaryan to Arsenal rating 8/10\n\n- Aubameyang to Arsenal\n\n![pierre-emerick-aubameyang-arsenal.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUKQJ7Md8AVG4b55T6iDKvd86LS2iv9GufXA8dsRW4zDU/pierre-emerick-aubameyang-arsenal.jpg)\n\nThis wasn't the last bit of business Arsenal made this window as they signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund. The gabonese striker has really made a name for himself in the Bundesliga and Arsenal are potentially getting a great striker. In my opinion this is a risky deal as we can see from the past that Dortmund players aren't really cutting it abroad. Examples are there: Mkhitaryan, Nuri Sahin, Kagawa, Gotze(Bayern), Gundogan(Too early to call maybe as injuries have made it hard for him). It is easy to say that Auba is going to succeed as his goalscoring record his phenomenal but let's see. Mkhi-Ozil-Auba-Lacazette is a fun project.\n\nRating 7/10\n\n-  Laporte to Manchester City\n\nAfter deciding to not spend money on Alexis Sanchez, Pep Guardiola has decided to improve his side's defence. This time his recruitment was the French centre back form Athletico Bilbao. 23-year old Aymeric Laporte has been a talent to scout for a while and it has been really surprising that the Frenchman had not left the Bilbao side earlier. City are getting a real talent in Laporte and it is really interesting to see who will get dropped from the starting 11 or will Aymeric be an addition to the bench. I think that for a January transfer this maybe is a bit unnecessary but with the funds of Manchester City it maybe makes sense. Laporte has a lot to prove and let's see how he adapts to the English football.\n\nRating 7/10\n\nOther transfers worth mentioning:\n\nGiroud to Chelsea 6/10\nBatshuayi to Dortmund(loan) 6/10\nMoura to Spurs 7/10\nMartinez to Bilbao 9/10\n\nIW",
