The China Tour started on the 7th and 8th in Shanghai, passed by Shenzhen on the 9th, visited Beijing on the 10th, and concluded the Tour on the 11th in Shanghai once again.**\n\nThe events in **Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai** were truly impressive. In the ordering phase both participants will place their market orders in the IC Brokerage based on the best IC Brokerage bid and ask prices for AAPL and USD respectively. Many people say “A Woman needs to cook and take care of the kids” OR “A Woman can not do a man’s job because of their physical attributes”. Ya right !! Iman Mutlaq did what men fail to do, she never gave up and followed her motto “I can” to remind herself that everything is attainable if you put your mind to it.\n\n**Willpower and the Need to Provide**\nIman had quite a rough childhood where she her hero, her father, when she was just 6 years old. Growing up without a male figure she had to depend on herself, her mom and sister. Back in the day; in the 60’s & 70’s, it was even more difficult for women to advance in their careers. Women were expected to find a husband, care for them, provide for the family and let the husband handle the work. It was even more extreme in her case as she was in Saudi Arabia at the time, where the male population was in fact the dominating gender and mostly in control of the women’s duties.\n\nAt 16 years old, Iman had already obtained her first job. Her job was primarily to engrave client’s names, birthdays and any requested customized text in pens, notebook and a variety of souvenirs. She then went on to establish her own export-import business at the age of 18. A couple of years after later, she got married to her husband, Talaat, and they started their lives together. Iman had quit school to work and moved with her mother, husband and sister to Egypt to continue living there and find better opportunities. Iman was able to excel in her job in Egypt, starting in the financial industry. Unfortunately, both Iman’s marriage and her job were short lived .\n\nAround 1999 she got divorced to her husband after conceiving 2 boys from him and moved to Jordan due to challenges at her work and with her team which at the time were all male. What you need to understand is that most of the time and especially in a business setting men are insecure and feel emasculated when a woman who works for them does better than them; the result is firing and/or forcing the women to quit.\n\nWomen are very emotionally intelligent and in most cases establish a stronger connection with their kids as they have carried them for 9 months and brought them to life. Iman Mutlaq fought and fought and fought for her boys, just like any mother of any species on the planet. She fought and took them under her wings to not only assure them food and shelter, but also the best education and lifestyle that she did not have the privilege to experience. She traveled to Jordan shortly after her divorce and started a new page and a new beginning. She barely had enough money to cover daily expenditures for herself, her children and her mom. That never stopped her though and never kept her down. She kept working and climbing up the ranks with her family in her mind. Iman enrolled her children in excellent schools that provided the highest education and partnered up with a strategic firm for 30% of the company shares and equity. She worked day and night and proved to everyone that just because she is a woman it does not mean she can not keep up or even get ahead of the whole team. Iman learned and flourished, she gave everything to the financial firm. Of course that is not the happy ending of this story. As I mentioned, some men tend to get really insecure when a woman surpasses them and their ego starts kicking in and gets the better of them.\n\nThe firm abandoned Iman and ignored all the money and success she brought in. When it was time to pay up, the partners fired her and told her that the company does not owe her anything. Iman decided not to fight back. I never really understood why she did not fight these horrible, greedy and ungrateful excuse of men back. She never gave up what was hers, but it got clearer and clearer as time passed. It was all for the sake of her family. Iman was not ready to sacrifice or put in danger what she considered a part of her own flesh and blood. At the time Iman was excelling in the U.A.E, she felt the tension coming from the eccentric male population in the firm. She decided to keep some money safe back in Amman, which she used to get a house and provide for the family upon moving back.\n\nThe family once again picked up their bags and migrated back to Amman, Jordan. At this point Iman saw the world differently, her kids were older; one being 14 years old and the other 10 years old. She also made sure that her mom was with her wherever she went. The picture was as clear as a summer’s day. Iman knew that she could no longer work for someone and that she had to run things with her own hands. Forbes magazine’s Middle East edition, published in 2016 and 2017, ranked Iman Mutlaq 32nd and 41st positions respectively in a list of “The 100 Most Powerful Arab Businesswomen\n\nMutlaq was born in Saudi Arabia. Following her father’s death when she was 6 years old, she was raised by her mother. Though her family kept close company with Saudi royals, Mutlaq had to struggle hard, particularly in the absence of her father, to become involved in the typical male-centric Arabian public life. She started to sell arts and crafts at school when she was 14 years old in order to support her education.\n\nShe established her export-import business at the age of 18 and then entered in the financial industry at the age of 27 covering the regions of Middle East and North Africa. She is the founder of Jordan based Sigma Investments, a financial consultancy firm providing different market and advisory services.\n\nShe is a director of Australia based INGOT Brokers, a portal and a brokerage firm which enables trading on global currencies, precious metals, Commodities, ETFs, Shares as well as different Indices including the exclusive products of MENA Shares and Indices.\n\nSigma investments and INGOT are members of the three member consortium which signed cooperation protocol with Egyptian government to establish a US$35–50m worth electronic Egyptian Commodities Exchange (EGYCOMEX) in Egypt as the first ever country in the MENA region; it will facilitate the well being of the small farmers and supply of products at reasonable prices abolishing the monopoly of goods.\n\nShe is involved in angel investment encouraging projects such as 8X8Women, which enhances women’s creativity and ideas. She is also targeting web development and applications for mobile devices through one of her startups, Dreamtechs\n\nMutlaq states that “To build on our belief in the importance of a women’s role in her society and the value of their empowerment, we founded our project in hopes of encouraging an educated generation of young women to take charge in developing their skills and knowledge, and be inspired to launch their own projects.”\nIman Believes highly in giving back to the community and has always thought of social responsibility as a duty.\nShe participated in an expedition with her Jordanian colleagues to Mount Kilimanjaro in 2014 in an effort to support the cancer research initiatives of the King Hussein Cancer Center and gave $1.3 million from the collection. Iman also visits the Zaatari refugee camp for implementing psychosocial support by the IAHV, Jordan; co-funded by the European Union for the Syrian refugees.\n\nFurthermore she joined at the Art of Living Foundation, an initiative of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and became the first instructor for the foundation in Jordan. Subsequently she undertook the leadership as the President of the Geneva headquartered International Association for Human Values(IAHV) in Jordan.\n\nThe Obama Administration invited her as a participant from the Middle East at the inaugural US Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship in 2010; she met former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the late Ambassador Richard Holbrooke there and discussed issues affecting women in Afghanistan and across the Middle East.
