I will expose your  barbarism in many other ways.''![11.PNG](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcQUT82LA3A8qf8wQAsFprixAHQx7MC4Az6Aa7adTmWYU/11.PNG)\n\nHe reacted to the remarks of FM Qureshi  as  shared by the  government of Pakistan official  Twitter account in which he said, '' cancellation of blasphemous contest is a great moral victory of Muslim Ummah.\n\n“To avoid the risk  of victims of Islamic violence, I have decided not to let the cartoon contest  go ahead,” Wilders said on Thursday in a written statement, claiming to have received death threats.\nWilders, who lived for years under round-the-clock protection because of death threats sparked by his fierce anti-Islam rhetoric, said he did not want others to be endangered by the contest he had planned for November.\nPhysical depictions of God or the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are forbidden in Islam and are considered  blasphemous by Muslims. Previous cartoons depicted him have provoked violence.\nIn 2005, a Danish newspaper  published cartoons of the prophet which sparked a wave of protests across the world.\nTen years later, gunmen killed 12 people in an attack on the offices of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, which had published similar caricatures.\nIt’s not just about me, Wilders said in the statement. He said strong opponents of the event “see not only me but the entire Netherlands as a target.”\nThe Dutch government had been at pains to distance itself from the contest.\nThe country’s prime  minister, Mark Rutted, questioned Wilders’ motive for organizing the contest and said he did not support the planned contest, but he would defend Wilders right to hold it.\n“His aim is not to have a debate about Islam. Size\nEven today, the full scale of the Amazon Rainforest remains truly mind-boggling. It graces nine different South and Central American countries including Peru, Venezuela and Bolivia, with the majority (60%) of its magnificent sprawl lying within the expansive borders of Brazil. All in, it amounts to roughly 3.2 million square miles of continuous forest – in other words, around a third of the total land size of the USA (including Alaska and Hawaii). That's pretty big!\n\n \n\n \n\n2. Plant Life\nIncredibly, this one gigantic expanse of greenery accounts for some 20% of the world’s entire allocation of natural forest. It’s home to an estimated 40,000 plant species, including 16,000 native tree types, with new ones still being discovered on a regular basis. Greenhouse Effect\nThe Amazon Rainforest’s astonishing rates of photosynthesis means all those trees do an incredible job of keeping our planet’s air clear and filtered for us to breathe, as well as making a huge contribution to slowing down global warming. Sucking in vast quantities of carbon dioxide (largely man-made through the burning of fossil fuels), the forest converts this to oxygen and releases it back into the atmosphere. Additionally, it harnesses the remaining carbon for growth, which is then stored in the trees – thus deforestation is doubly damaging, as burning Amazonian plant life puts it right back into circulation, as well as reducing the number of trees left to absorb it in future.\n\n \n\n \n\n4. Biodiversity\nIn addition to the staggering diversity of plant life housed in the Amazon Rainforest, it’s also the single most important and teeming habitat for animal life on Earth. Over 30% of all identified species call these jungles home, including 2.5 million insect classifications and a fifth of all known species of birds. Many are unique to this environment, and all are by turns beautiful, bizarre and astonishing: the Amazon Basin is host to everything from electric eels and vampire bats to jaguars, snakes and sloths. Water\nIt’s hardly a surprise to hear that rainforests are positively sloshing with life-giving water, and this one holds more than most: up to a fifth of the world’s fresh water, in fact, with the Amazon River alone winding for upwards of 4,000 miles through these vast, lush jungles. The mind-blowing quantities of h2O falling from the sky are just the beginning of the Amazon’s central role in the global water cycle, though – once again, it’s those trees that really do the bulk of the work. A single 98-foot tree can guarantee the evaporation of 79 gallons of water back into the atmosphere every day, having a dramatic effect on weather systems around the world and contributing hugely to the continued biodiversity of our planet.\n\n \n\n \n\n6. Dust & Fertilisation\nSlightly more surprising, perhaps, is the fact that dust also plays an equally central role in the general health and wellbeing of such an inherently moist habitat. Plentiful supplies of fresh dust and phosphorous in the topsoil are pretty much just as crucial for long-term fertilisation and sustained plant growth as water. Amazingly, the main supplier to the Amazon Rainforest is on another continent entirely: it’s the Sahara desert in Africa. Population\nAmong all the teeming wildlife of the Amazon Rainforest, it’s easy to forget that humans are also native to these lush jungles – but, in fact, the rainforest’s 21 million permanent inhabitants form a population roughly equal to that of London, New York and LA combined. Indigenous territories can actually be found in a little over 20% of the Amazon’s full span, including some major conurbations such as Manaus (2m people) and Belém (1.4m). There are also a great many smaller and more isolated communities, where unparalleled knowledge of local wildlife, plant cultivation and medicine continues to inform current scientific investigation of this incredibly rich habitat.\n\n \n\n \n\n8. History of Human Occupation\nIn 1542, the Spanish explorer and conquistador Francisco de Orellana completed the first known navigation of the full length of the Amazon River, which was for a brief time thereafter known as the Rio de Orellana. The journey relied heavily on drifting with river currents toward the open ocean, and was perhaps unsurprisingly a perilous and bloody undertaking (for both the struggling explorers and the unfortunate indigenous populations they clashed with). Deforestation\nAs we know all too well, the horrifying rate of deforestation that the Amazon Rainforest has been subjected to for much of the 20th century has caused massive damage to the extent and health of the jungle, and continues to threaten its status as an impossibly valuable resource and habitat. The main threat, as noted in eco2greetings’ handy infographic, continues to come from cattle ranching – this industry alone was responsible for some 45% of total tree clearances between 2000-2005, at a staggering rate of 200,000 acres per day (an area roughly the size of Central Park). Large- and small-scale agriculture combined to worsen the problem by a further 40% in that time, with an estimated 15% of all Earth greenhouse gas emissions caused by aggressive deforestation. \n\n \n\n \n\n10. Future\nHappily, some progress has been made in recent years towards slowing the destruction. Huge efforts are being made to curb illegal deforestation, with government and local communities working together under new initiatives in the worst-affected areas where up until very recently, vast swathes of plant life were regularly been hacked and burned to make way for ranches, farms or plantations. Steps being taken towards a more sustainable future in places like Paragominas are now being touted as potential models for larger-scale conservation across the Amazon Basin, where it’s absolutely imperative that swift and decisive action is taken to protect and preserve these unique resources for all who rely on them.",

Former captain Azhar Ali, Shan Masood, and Imad Wasim have also been recalled to the camp.\n\nPakistan have been placed in Pool A in the six-nation Asia Cup along with old rivals India. The two teams will clash in an eagerly-awaited pool match in Dubai on September 19.       "body": "Lahore-The financially-strapped Pakistanis were left pleasantly surprised after being informed by leading media outlets that largest oil reserves have been unearthed in the country, however, the ground realities confirm that the piece of news might appear to be fake.\n![shutterstock_102708536_9-768x576.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmNrcJncaaX2TGaRtNkDMXHt2jLbZ1iLxAzmt9QqSvZaAA/shutterstock_102708536_9-768x576.jpg)\nPakistani media is currently flooded with speculative and fake news owing to the fraught election season and possible appointments in days to come, however, one of the news story carried by multiple media outlets quoted minister for Maritime Affairs and Foreign Affairs Abdullah Hussain Haroon, as saying that ExxonMobil (multinational oil and gas company) has indicated that it was close to hitting huge oil reserves near the Pak-Iran border, which could be even bigger than the Kuwaiti reserves.\n\nThough Haroon made the comments on Friday while addressing business leaders at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) adding that the government had already taken an undertaking from the company to set up a generation complex worth $10 billion.\n\nHowever, the statement seems contrary to the facts and virtually another piece of FAKE news, an indication of which is multiple factors.\n\nFirstly, ExxonMobil is not operating in Balochistan province and is not involved in any exploration. It is only working on an offshore field with ENI, PPL, and OGDC with a 25 percent interest.\nSecondly, Pakistan Petroleum Information Service, which keeps a record of explorations in the country, has not mentioned the ‘so-called’ discovery of huge oil reserves on its website.\nMoreover, the ministry of energy has officially announced that there is no truth to the discovery of oil reserves as a result of drilling by ExxonMobil.\n![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmbhNCkdnxUVr9HzdypJAcAJ17KdD58v8xXjLBZAgRyNvC/image.png)\nAccording to a statement, the ministry clarified that no license was issued to the American firm in question and so it could not carry out drilling unilaterally.\n\nFurthermore, Husain Haroon has officially denied the quote about a big ExxonMobil oil discovery in Pakistan.\nThe reported oil discovery is reminiscent of the major reserves of gold, silver, copper and iron ore which were claimed to have been discovered from Punjab’s Chiniot district in 2015.\n\nAt that time, then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, chief minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif and notable scientists felicitated the nation, with a hope that the minerals would boost the economy of the country, however, what happened to the discovery, is still unknown to many.\n\n“The discovery of gold is a blessing of Allah Almighty,” chief minister Punjab had said at that time.\n\nMoreover, Dr Samar Mubarkiman, a scientist who was assigned the task of processing the Chiniot project also confirmed the presence of gold and silver deposits, however, nothing substantial followed, three days after the exploration.\n\nThe discovery of huge Oil reserves and its exploration by ExxonMobil has proven to be factually wrong despite the fact that the all-aware minister has confirmed the development.\n\nInterestingly, ExxonMobil acquired a 25 percent stake in offshore drilling in Pakistan in May this year for which a ceremony was organized in the PM House between Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL), PPL, ENI, OGDC and Exxon Mobil.\n\nPreviously, Italian energy giant Eni, Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) held 33 percent share each in offshore drilling in Pakistan but the agreement restricted the share of the remaining three companies to 25 percent \n\nExxonMobil has major experience in the realm of offshore drilling, however, it has neither listed Pakistan on its website nor shared the news about the discovery of ‘huge oil reserves’ near the Pak-Iran border.\n\nThe impetus for disseminating such information, which is contrary to the facts, might be to create a positive impression in the Oil and Gas market and to give a fillip to the shares of the American firm in the stock market.\n\n*Representatives of PPIS and ExxonMobil have yet to respond to the queries\n\nOGDCL Finds Oil, Gas In Pakistan\nOil and Gas Development Company (OGDCL)-led Mela D&PL block joint venture has discovered oil and natural gas in Pakistan, OGDCL said on Tuesday.\n\nThe joint venture has found oil and gas from the development well Mela 05, located in Kohat district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa province. This is the first discovery of oil and gas from Samanasuk Formation in Mela oil field, the company said. The well has tested 95 b/d of oil and 0.249mn ft3/d of gas.\n\nThe Mela joint venture comprises OGDCL as operator (56.45%), Pakistan Petroleum (28.55%) and Government Holdings (15%).",
