| title | Do It Now! |
| body | **Do it now!** Decide where you are going and how to get there. Then make a start from where you now stand. --------------------------- Let's Go. Let's Do It. Moving Forward. Make It So. Once the decision is made and you know the first step to take ... take it. If you don't, you're not committed nor are you a good decision maker. Good decisions lead to action. Otherwise, you get stuck in your head. It's your actions that tell me, and you, that you've made a decision. When you make a decision, what phrase do you say to get you moving so you Do It Now? If you don't have one, pick one from above and put it to use. You'll be pleasantly surprised. In a short time, you'll be able to look back and see the little decisions you made, committed to doing, and what you accomplished because of it. **An Example:** Wasn't that long ago I was stuck - overwhelmed by the IRS and the State saying they needed more money, frustrated that the new-to-me truck was stuck in another state with a blown head gasket, a credit card that has 3x more on it than I'm comfortable with, collaboration partners not keeping their end of the agreement, no revenue for almost 2 months because promised action didn't happen. Then I remembered the importance of action. It was time to stop thinking and start doing. What can I do now? What tools do I have in front of me that I can use? I made the decision to create an info-product and sell it. I didn't care if I sold only 1 copy. Next, I set up a Fiverr account under a pseudonym and offered a specific product - a series of 10 emails for use as an autoresponder after a download. Next, I created another info-product and got it up for sale. Then I began getting requests from my network and previous customers to work on projects. The momentum started when I took action. The result, in 30 days, is ... 1. I have returning customers on Fiverr 2. I have sold over 100 copies of my info-product 3. I have recurring affiliate income from the links that were in my info-product 4. The truck is in my driveway and it looks like it may not be a head gasket issue 5. The IRS and State are still wanting their money 6. I feel confident that I am doing all I can and that it is enough. What's stopping you? What tools and knowledge can you use to create momentum? What can you do - now? Do it. |

| title | Addicted to Personal Development |
| body | There’s a serious issue happening in the lives of many people. From professionals to entrepreneurs. From business owners to line workers. It’s an issue that has been popping up over the years on social media — and lately, it’s been showing itself daily in Facebook and LinkedIn Groups that I belong to. **It begins as a quest to be successful.** An innocent post on social media asking for personal development books. Followed by comments upon comments about books ranging from Napoleon Hill to Brene Brown, from Tony Robbins to Brendon Burchard, from the Bible to Eckart Tolle. And many in between. A recent thread I shared on is currently at over 200 comments in 3 hours, with each comment listing at least 1 book if not 3 or more. Most are sharing multiple book titles. The purpose of the post is to learn about personal development. The result of the post is a listing of books that people have read. Only a handful of comments (including mine) explained why the book was a game changer in our lives. The person on the quest for success begins purchasing or borrowing the recommended books. They read 1 book a week. They feel as if they’re on a journey to success. They feel good that they’re doing something positive for themselves. They gain insight into their current or immediate situation and then move on to the next book. A year later, after reading 40+ books (some took longer than a week to read), they ask for recommendations for personal development books... because they are hooked on the occasional thrill of insight on the idea of change on the hope that they can have the peace of mind, the solid relationships, the financial success they’ve been reading about. **What have they achieved? What are they now an expert at doing?** They are an expert at reading and recommending a book. If someone were to ask them “what, exactly, did you do to change your behavior in business? toward your spouse? at your job?” they don’t have an answer, because in reality they haven’t changed anything about themselves. I think we’re dealing with an addiction to personal development that focuses a LOT on looking for an answer from the outside (a book) and *not* on how the application of the lessons in the book actually change you. Honestly, if you did focus on implementing what you learned in the books, you wouldn’t need to continually ask for recommendations about personal development books. So, now what? I’ve identified the problem and that requires that there be an answer, right? **My answer is this:** If you have read more than 10 books on personal development and your life hasn’t changed dramatically — it’s time to stop reading and time to take action on the lessons you learned. Why? It’s called PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT. This implies you want change to occur in your life. And the only way that change is going to happen is if you change inside. Your thinking is what is keeping you from succeeding. It is stopping you from growing beyond your current situation. It is the ‘wall’ that you are hitting. It is the cause of your frustration and anger at the world. These wonderful books on personal development that are being recommended are meant to be studied. Not read. They’re not meant to be set aside. What’s inside them doesn’t work when you read through them, set them aside, and reach for the next one. You won’t change by simply ‘absorbing’ what is read and moving on. Trust me. I see too many people that are stuck, think they know the way out is through personal development books, and years later are still stuck…emotionally, mentally, physically, financially, spiritually. Some have gone backward and become bankrupt in those areas and find themselves asking: Is This All There Is? because they have no meaning in their lives. **How do you stop the reading and actually start the personal development?** *Pick one book, study it, apply one thing at a time in your life, and you will see change in yourself and your life.* What if you can’t stop? What if you find yourself drawn to all those lovely book covers offering Success! and Mindset Transformation? I recommend that you join a group of people focused on studying and learning success principles. This way, you can learn from them as they share their experiences with a specific principle, and you can share your experience. What will happen is that you will become accountable to yourself and to others to actually ACT on what you read in the book. To develop the habits you said you want in your life. To improve areas of your life by making changes in yourself. The extra benefit of being part of such a group is that you will get support. Much needed support. The reason it’s so easy to just read and move on is because it doesn’t require work, or patience, or planning, or awareness, or purposeful actions on your part. Being a part of a group of focused people will help you stay on track, be purposeful, and have a place for you to go for support when you’re stumbling or lost or afraid. Yes. Afraid. Because that’s what it really boils down to — people get comfortable with who they are (whether they like themselves or not) and are afraid to change because…well…it means change and it’s uncomfortable. Where to find a group? Your local library. On Facebook — in groups, look for a Closed group. On Linkedin. Search Google for Learning Community Success Principles or Reading Group Success Principles, or something similar. Ask a friend. Ask a business colleague. Do it. This time next year… you will be the person you dream of being because you finally started doing. |

And many in between. \n\nA recent thread I shared on is currently at over 200 comments in 3 hours, with each comment listing at least 1 book if not 3 or more. Most are sharing multiple book titles.\n\nThe purpose of the post is to learn about personal development.\n\nThe result of the post is a listing of books that people have read.\n\nOnly a handful of comments (including mine) explained why the book was a game changer in our lives.\n\nThe person on the quest for success begins purchasing or borrowing the recommended books. They read 1 book a week. They feel as if they’re on a journey to success. They feel good that they’re doing something positive for themselves. They gain insight into their current or immediate situation and then move on to the next book.\n\nA year later, after reading 40+ books (some took longer than a week to read), they ask for recommendations for personal development books...\n\n because they are hooked\n\non the occasional thrill of insight\non the idea of change\non the hope that they can have the peace of mind, the solid relationships, the financial success they’ve been reading about.\n\n\n\n**What have they achieved? | title | Universal Law of Increasing Returns - aka Why it's important to give more value than you receive payment for |
| body | Render more service than that for which you are paid and you will soon be paid for more than you render. The law of ‘Increasing Returns’ takes care of this. Napoleon Hill describes the Law of Increasing Returns by describing the farmer, who carefully prepares the soil, then sows the seeds of the crop he desires. Because he is attuned to the Law of Increasing Returns, he waters and weeds and waits with confident expectation that the seeds he has sown will return to him, plus “a many-fold increase.” All of us make decisions every day about whether it's worth it to wait, whether it's worth it to keep working. Does it make sense to keep working, to keep sacrificing, when nothing seems to be coming from the effort? Here is some perspective on understanding how the Law of Increasing Returns works: You write a weekly blog with helpful and inspiring content, which costs you time to research and publish. Eventually, because people come to know and appreciate you, they get in touch to see about working with you. You check in on a client you know is struggling, and find that you have contacted them at the very moment that person needed to know someone has their back. You do this with sincerity, share what you know, they have a breakthrough, and they refer another business owner to you. You offer complimentary strategy sessions and give a tremendous amount of your wisdom to a person who may or may not work with you at that moment. In the meantime, they send a friend who becomes a client, or later purchase a product you have created. You offer to speak at networking groups and give free webinars where your ideal clients gather, and before long, people really get how much you have to offer, and send referrals. You spend an hour a day being active on social media channels where your ideal client is also active, answering questions, offering recommendations and advice, sharing your knowledge freely. People begin to contact you via private message, asking how they can work with you, asking if you accept referrals. Today, list 5 different ways you sow seeds of success in your business. Where are you offering more value than people pay for? Where else can you do this? If you hesitate or balk, it's just a bit of fear that you can break through quickly. Look at your definite purpose - now look at the value you are offering people - and look at how you can increase that value. Do it with the belief that you will receive more than you put out. And do it with a cheerful attitude. |

| title | Law of Success: Success Principle 4 - Going the Extra Mile |
| body | <center></center> # Going The Extra Mile - Doing More Than What is Expected You must give to get. That's an established social law in civilized society. It's based on the Law of Reciprocity - when you give something to someone they will feel obligated to give something in return. Have you ever done someone a favor, told them you asked for nothing in return at the moment...then 'cashed in that favor' at a later date? Or, someone did something for you and when you offered to pay or return the favor they said "no worries, there will be a time when I need and then I'll call"? Or, as here on steemit, you've seen that when you write interesting and useful posts you receive upvotes and steems and resteems? Sometimes, you are paid for your work later. When doing work for which you're being paid, the reward is the interest on that payment: referrals, returning customers, goodwill among people in your network, and more. As a Success Principle, rooted in personal improvement, we can use this principle to ensure that our attitude is to be of service (while also doing a job that we're being paid to do). By doing so we increase our confidence, gain the respect of others, and are remembered for our work. It's not done with a mindset of "I'll give so that I can get", but instead, as part of your value system that says "I have something to offer others and when possible I'll do more than asked because...I can...and because it feels good to do so". When we are doing work that we love to do we are at our best. And when we are doing are best work we tend to do more than people expect. I've done this many times throughout my career and as a business owner. When I was a field systems engineer working on automated systems on factory floors, I often stayed longer and did more than expected -because I loved what I was doing! It wasn't for the pay - I was salary, so the hours weren't counted (so to speak). It wasn't for recognition because often no one knew I had stayed an extra 3 hours to fix the front end sprocket system so it wouldn't break down for a long time. It was because 1. I loved what I was doing and lost track of time and 2. I wanted to make sure that the job I did was done so well that I wouldn't need to come back - which means the customer could stay up and running and not lose money from lack of production. As a writer, I research and write educational/informational articles for a variety of customers in diverse industries. They're expecting basic headlines with some generic supporting material. I give them fun headlines and material supported by research, sometimes including references and other times writing in a more conversational tone that reflects their style. Why? Because I love research and when I find interesting things to put in the article I do it. There are numerous examples I could give, but let me tell you the **benefit of Doing More Than Expected and of Going the Extra Mile**: 1. I have gained the respect of my peers and my superiors. They consider me to be a reliable resource, the 'go to' person for information, research, and more. 2. I get referrals from my customers. 3. I feel good about the work I do. 4. Because I feel good, get referrals, and have the respect of influential people - my network is filled with interesting, influential, successful people. Don't think about what you will get because you give a bit more. Just do it and you will reap unexpected, and welcomed rewards. |

| title | You have what it takes to be confident! |
| body | # You have what it takes to be confident! It’s important to understand the connection between courage and self-confidence. I want you to take a moment and think back to a time when you were scared to do something, but you gathered up your courage and did it anyway. Maybe it was walking away from a bad situation. Maybe it was working through a problem that seemed impossible at first glance. Maybe it was overcoming a fear, facing it, and coming through ok at the other side. Maybe it was overcoming a big physical or mental challenge like running your first 10K race or acing a big exam. It doesn’t matter what it was, as long as you think of something that took courage to do. Think about how you felt after you did whatever that courageous thing or act was. It felt pretty amazing, didn’t it? Maybe you were a bit exhausted from the effort or relieved that you made it through to the other side. No doubt that adrenaline started pumping through your body and you felt incredibly proud of what you’d accomplished. That made you feel elated and good about yourself and your ability to do other courageous things. In other words, you gave yourself a big boost of self-confidence. That is one of the connections between self-confidence and courage. You can boost your confidence and self-esteem by getting into the habit of doing courageous things. Once you’ve gotten that boost of confidence, you start to feel more courageous and then you’re ready to tackle the next hard thing on your list. In other words, self-confidence and courage can work in a self-propelling spiral. Do something courageous and your self-confidence increases. As your confidence goes up, it’s easier to do something courageous. And on and on it spirals. This is an important concept to grasp and it’s something you can use to your advantage. By simply getting in the habit of doing something that scares you, or that seems hard at first, and having the courage to give it a try anyway, you can put this self-propelling spiral of increased self-confidence into motion. From there, every little thing you do that’s either courageous or increases your confidence will make it easier to keep going and keep improving. The only hard part is getting started, and frankly, that isn’t all that hard or scary, is it? What can you do today that takes a little courage? |

| title | Law of Success: Success Principle 3 - Applied Faith |
| body | <center></center> **Applied Faith and Belief** Napoleon Hill challenged the notion that faith is only about religious belief. In this principle, as outlined in the Law of Success and later in Think & Grow Rich, he shows us that faith, or lack thereof, defines our destiny. It is what creates the road map that our subconscious mind follows. A friend of mine once told me that Faith is Belief - and when I took that to mean Belief in Myself I began to understand what Napoleon Hill meant. When I believe that I can - I will create the map to get me to the destination and my subconscious will then use that belief in myself to fuel my conscious mind with motivation, inspiration, and determination to move forward on the path. **Now, the next question is how do I believe in myself?** Hill stated that "Faith is a state of mind which may be induced, or created, by affirmations or repeated instructions to our subconscious mind, through the principle of autosuggestion". What that looks like, for me, is simple: Every morning while looking at myself in the mirror I say the following: I am happy, I am healthy, I am strong. I am leading women to success and greatness through the study and application of the success principles. I am hosting a fantastic business retreat that business owners are eager to attend and share with their friends. You can create your own affirmations, just be sure that they are what you really want. Much like the often said warning "be careful what you pray for, you just might get it", the use of affirmations to guide your belief and faith is powerful - you will get what you talk about. Faith can be used in positive or negative ways depending upon what you focus on. When you apply your faith positively, you can expect to receive: 1. Sound health 2. Peace of mind 3. Labor of Love of your own choice 4. Freedom from fear and worry 5. Positive Mental Attitude 6. Material riches of your own choice and quantity Remember to focus your mind on what you want, as this principle works in reverse if you focus on what you fear or do not want. What questions do you have about Applied Faith? About belief? About the Law of Success? |

| title | Law of Success - Success Principle 2: The Master Mind Alliance |
| body | <center></center> # Join A Mastermind Group Napoleon Hill created the concept of a Master Mind as the Second Principle of Success in his book and business course Law of Success, then shared it in his book “Think and Grow Rich”: >“A mastermind group is designed to help you navigate through challenges using the collective intelligence of others.” There are many types of Mastermind Groups. They range from impromptu gatherings of like-minds that want to focus on a solution to a problem, to regular gatherings of select professionals that discuss all matters of business. There are free groups and paid groups. I know this to be true: without a group of professionals, interested in my success, to help me stay on task and pay attention to my business…my business would fail. If you are a very small business owner — whether it’s an internet based business or brick & mortar — you need to be a part of a Mastermind Group. **Why Join a Mastermind Group?** **1. Get Feedback from Professionals** Being a business owner can be lonely. We make decisions in the quiet of our office, we connect with people behind email and avatars. We can’t discuss new projects with our employees or team members because their roles are focused on helping to move a project along…not to create the vision. In a Mastermind Group you can pitch your idea to the group and get immediate feedback — most often that feedback is based on solid experience. Whether the feedback is negative or positive, there is opportunity to discuss and flesh out the idea and feedback so you can make a better-informed decision. **2. Learn from Someone Already Doing What You Want to Do** There is no better teacher than one who has already done it. And, while they made mistakes and you’re likely to make them as well, you can get guidance on how to navigate the path you’ve selected. For instance, you want to start a podcast and a group member has been podcasting for over a year. There’s valuable information that can come from that experience. Or, you want to add a staff member to your business but have never had employees…a group member with employees can truly be an asset in this area. **3. Share Successes** There’s nothing more deafening than the silence of celebrating a victory alone. Be it big or small, sharing a success with a group that has a stake in your success is exhilarating. The group members love to hear the story and are anxious to be a part of the celebration. Why? Because they’ve been with you along the way! And you can share in their stories and their successes. Successes that range from publishing an ebook to landing a huge client, from overcoming a fear to adding a new offering to your business — all are shared and welcomed in a Mastermind Group. **4. Accountability** I believe it’s in our nature as humans to need to ‘report’ to someone. In the beginning years of business ownership it can be exciting to have no one to report to, no one to tell me what I can or cannot do, no one to tell me when I must do something. But after a few years the motivation to complete projects changes. Discipline can slip. Our ‘why’ might be strong, but if we reach a plateau it can be easy to get complacent. That’s tough to do when you belong to a Mastermind Group. It’s more than just writing down and goal and saying it out loud. If you’re part of a group that’s been meeting regularly for quite a few months, or years, then you will feel obligated to report to the group on your progress. And, quite honestly, the group members will feel obligated to ask you about your goals and your progress. You see — it doesn’t take long for members to feel like they have a stake in each others’ success or failures…that someone who isn’t making progress actually can become an anchor and distraction to the group. Think about it this way: you’ve been asked by a professional to give feedback and advice about a project. You spend time with them to learn about the project, to ask questions and to provide your advice. Then, the next time you see that professional you ask how the project is going and they say “oh, that? well, it’s still not moving forward but I’ll get to it some day…by the way, do you have time to discuss this new project?” Annoying, right? **5. The Members Need You as Much as You Need Them** Being a part of a Mastermind Group includes being responsible yourself. You must be an active member to get the most out of your membership. How? By being interested in the other members’ successes and failures. By being their accountability partner. By offering your feedback, experience, advice and guidance at group meetings. The ultimate Master Mind cannot happen when there is a non-participatory member in the group. **Free or Paid?** There are pros and cons for both. The free usually doesn’t have a strong leader or structure, so that means members decide the ‘rules’ and can change them according to their needs. I’ve seen some free groups last over a year, but most fall apart within a few months — because of lack of structure, lack of agenda, easy to leave and easy to have someone new come in. The paid usually have a leader/moderator and structure. If members have questions or concerns, they’re brought to the leader for resolution. The fee paid is for a few things — access to the level of professionals you’re wanting to meet with, an agenda that ensures that you are just as important as the other members of the group, the meeting room (if meeting in person), the virtual meeting program (if meeting online). If you think you’re ready to be a part of a Mastermind Group of business owners — contact me. I host 3 types of groups: 1. Goals & Accountability — the perfect entry into being a part of a Mastermind Group. Limited to 8 people. We meet for 3 months, 2 times per month, share our goals and help each other reach those goals. It’s short term, you get a LOT done in those 90 days, and you learn what it means to be a part of a Mastermind Group. 2. Grow Your Business — Limited to 8 people. You agree to be a member for a minimum of 6 months, meeting 2 times per month, sharing goals but also bringing business ideas and needs to the table so other members can help with ideas, experience and resources. You agree to present at least once to the members on something you have expertise in that is helpful to the members. Often we share our network and resources. After 6 months you will be asked if you’re ready to continue for another 6 months. The continued membership could be in the same group, but could be in a new group. 3. Next Level Business Owners — Limited to 6 people. You agree to be a member for 12 months, meeting 2 times per month, sharing goals and bringing your ideas to the table for yourself and the other members. You agree to present at least once to the members on something you have expertise in that is helpful to the members. Outside experts will be brought in to present/train/teach the members according to the membership needs. You will be expected to share your network and resources in some capacity while receiving the benefit of someone else’s network and resources. After 12 months you will be asked if you’re ready to continue for another 12 months. The continued membership could be in the same group, but could be in a new group. I am soon launching a group for women business owners: Power of 10: Become More. Achieve More. The focus will be on studying and applying the Law of Success principles. It includes presentations and materials from outside experts to gain better understanding of how that principle works in real life, meeting 2x/month, private forum (not a Facebook group), and more. If YOU are thinking that you might want to join a group but aren't sure you are ready ... I do have a [Mastermind Readiness Checklist](http://thegrowalliance.com/mastermind-readiness) you might find useful. Yes, you'll be put on a "I'm interested in masterminds" email list, but it's easy to opt out. *this post originally appeared on the [Search by Burke](http://searchbyburke.com) blog* |

"title": "Law of Success - Success Principle 2: The Master Mind Alliance",
"body": "<center></center>\n\n# Join A Mastermind Group\n\nNapoleon Hill created the concept of a Master Mind as the Second Principle of Success in his book and business course Law of Success, then shared it in his book “Think and Grow Rich”:\n\n>“A mastermind group is designed to help you navigate through challenges using the collective intelligence of others.”\n\nThere are many types of Mastermind Groups. They range from impromptu gatherings of like-minds that want to focus on a solution to a problem, to regular gatherings of select professionals that discuss all matters of business. There are free groups and paid groups.\n\nI know this to be true: without a group of professionals, interested in my success, to help me stay on task and pay attention to my business…my business would fail.\n\nIf you are a very small business owner — whether it’s an internet based business or brick & mortar — you need to be a part of a Mastermind Group.\n\n**Why Join a Mastermind Group?**\n\n**1. Get Feedback from Professionals**\n\nBeing a business owner can be lonely. We make decisions in the quiet of our office, we connect with people behind email and avatars. We can’t discuss new projects with our employees or team members because their roles are focused on helping to move a project along…not to create the vision.\n\nIn a Mastermind Group you can pitch your idea to the group and get immediate feedback — most often that feedback is based on solid experience. Whether the feedback is negative or positive, there is opportunity to discuss and flesh out the idea and feedback so you can make a better-informed decision.\n\n**2. Learn from Someone Already Doing What You Want to Do**\n\nThere is no better teacher than one who has already done it. And, while they made mistakes and you’re likely to make them as well, you can get guidance on how to navigate the path you’ve selected.\n \nFor instance, you want to start a podcast and a group member has been podcasting for over a year. There’s valuable information that can come from that experience. Or, you want to add a staff member to your business but have never had employees…a group member with employees can truly be an asset in this area.\n\n**3. Share Successes**\n\nThere’s nothing more deafening than the silence of celebrating a victory alone.\n\nBe it big or small, sharing a success with a group that has a stake in your success is exhilarating. The group members love to hear the story and are anxious to be a part of the celebration. Why? Because they’ve been with you along the way! And you can share in their stories and their successes. \n\nSuccesses that range from publishing an ebook to landing a huge client, from overcoming a fear to adding a new offering to your business — all are shared and welcomed in a Mastermind Group.\n\n**4. Accountability**\n\nI believe it’s in our nature as humans to need to ‘report’ to someone.\n\nIn the beginning years of business ownership it can be exciting to have no one to report to, no one to tell me what I can or cannot do, no one to tell me when I must do something. And, quite honestly, the group members will feel obligated to ask you about your goals and your progress.\n\nYou see — it doesn’t take long for members to feel like they have a stake in each others’ success or failures…that someone who isn’t making progress actually can become an anchor and distraction to the group.\n\nThink about it this way: you’ve been asked by a professional to give feedback and advice about a project. You spend time with them to learn about the project, to ask questions and to provide your advice. Then, the next time you see that professional you ask how the project is going and they say “oh, that? well, it’s still not moving forward but I’ll get to it some day…by the way, do you have time to discuss this new project?” Annoying, right?\n\n**5. The Members Need You as Much as You Need Them**\n\nBeing a part of a Mastermind Group includes being responsible yourself. You must be an active member to get the most out of your membership. How? By being interested in the other members’ successes and failures. By being their accountability partner. By offering your feedback, experience, advice and guidance at group meetings. The ultimate Master Mind cannot happen when there is a non-participatory member in the group.\n\n**Free or Paid?**\n\nThere are pros and cons for both.\n\nThe free usually doesn’t have a strong leader or structure, so that means members decide the ‘rules’ and can change them according to their needs. I’ve seen some free groups last over a year, but most fall apart within a few months — because of lack of structure, lack of agenda, easy to leave and easy to have someone new come in.\n\nThe paid usually have a leader/moderator and structure. If members have questions or concerns, they’re brought to the leader for resolution. The fee paid is for a few things — access to the level of professionals you’re wanting to meet with, an agenda that ensures that you are just as important as the other members of the group, the meeting room (if meeting in person), the virtual meeting program (if meeting online).\n\nIf you think you’re ready to be a part of a Mastermind Group of business owners — contact me. I host 3 types of groups:\n\n1. Goals & Accountability — the perfect entry into being a part of a Mastermind Group. Limited to 8 people. We meet for 3 months, 2 times per month, share our goals and help each other reach those goals. It’s short term, you get a LOT done in those 90 days, and you learn what it means to be a part of a Mastermind Group.\n\n2. The continued membership could be in the same group, but could be in a new group.\n\n3. The continued membership could be in the same group, but could be in a new group.\n\nI am soon launching a group for women business owners: Power of 10: Become More. Achieve More. The focus will be on studying and applying the Law of Success principles. It includes presentations and materials from outside experts to gain better understanding of how that principle works in real life, meeting 2x/month, private forum (not a Facebook group), and more. \n\nIf YOU are thinking that you might want to join a group but aren't sure you are ready ... I do have a [Mastermind Readiness Checklist](http://thegrowalliance.com/mastermind-readiness) you might find useful. Yes, you'll be put on a \"I'm interested in masterminds\" email list, but it's easy to opt out.\n\n*this post originally appeared on the [Search by Burke](http://searchbyburke.com) blog*",

| title | Law of Success - Success Principle 1: Your Definite Chief Aim |
| body | Napoleon Hill interviewed and observed thousands of people over a 25-year span. From these interviews and observations, he wrote Law of Success to be taught as a business course in college. Then he quickly wrote an edited version and titled it Think and Grow Rich. The principles of success are proven to work. It doesn’t matter if your goal is to become a basketball player for the NBA or a recycling tycoon, the path is the same. The first principle, upon which all others are applied to, is simple. Have a Chief Aim, a Well-Defined Purpose >“There is no hope of success for the person who does not have a central purpose, or definite goal, at which to aim,” Hill writes. If you’re looking to make money online, to build a business that allows you to live the life you want, to become the best guitar player in town, to get into the major leagues in baseball...then you must first clearly define what the end looks like. You must also prepare yourself for it to happen. How? By making a daily practice of reading aloud your Chief Aim. Cement it in your mind as the goal you want to achieve, the end result of the work you’re about to do. It will keep you focused and help you keep moving forward when the day seems long and your efforts seem fruitless. Do this and you’ll be ready for the other principles to work for you. What does it look like? Here is what a best-selling, fiction author wrote before she became a best-selling author: You can learn more about Octavia Butler, fiction writer, here: [Website](http://octaviabutler.org/) A well-known Chief Aim is the one written by Bruce Lee. >My Definite Chief Aim >I, Bruce Lee, will be the first highest paid Oriental super star in the United States. In return I will give the most exciting performances and render the best of quality in the capacity of an actor. Starting 1970 I will achieve world fame and from then onward till the end of 1980 I will have in my possession $10,000,000. I will live the way I please and achieve inner harmony and happiness. >Bruce Lee >Jan. 1969 Both achieved their goal and set new ones exactly the same way. | body | This book, as well as Sun Tzo's The Art of War are meant to be studied so the use of the principles are done strategically. I'm glad you're posting these and I hope some are willing to get themselves a copy and begin studying.
