Few years ago, I used to hate reading books. It was quite difficult to read and concentrate 15 minutes of reading that book because I was not habituated to read.\n\nBut I stick with that book like glue for 15 minutes per day for 2 weeks. Then, I allotted the time double (30 minutes) for reading books of next two weeks.\n\nAfter that, I used to spend 50 minutes-1 hour time for the pursuit of knowledge. Later, I gradually increased my time consistently to read. Now it becomes my habit to read books hours and hours at every day.\n\n15 minutes rule was worked for me tremendously. Now I use this simple but powerful strategy to pursue another good habits.\n\nBut there is one condition to apply this technique. Don't spend more than 15 minutes time per day to build good habits for the initial first two weeks.\n\nWe do a mistake all the time. Primarily We start work enthusiastically and work 3–4 hours to build up any good habits. But after 2–3 days, we feel monotonous and leave the work.\n\nWell, start from small but do it regularly to grow your interest, then make it large. Slow and steady person always wins the race of life. It is also true for building good habits.\n\nSo, don't let the grass grow under your feet.       "body": "Don’t know if my office counts a large, its only 45-50 people, open plan office, we can all see everyone. But here goes:\n\nMonday: get it, its metal monday, the jukebox is blazing away metal tracks because…\nChat to the team lead who sits next to me, we are a two man team working on the back end services. Last week I was working on the IAP module and it almost worked. iOS builds were great, but android is broken, that is my task for the week\nThe other teams have their stand up meetings, the producer, head of design is there, the discuss what they are doing for the week.\nAt 11, there is the weekly update on what is going on in the office: new fridge, visitors from London, etc, etc\nHead down and I get to work\nWednesday: I have been banging my head against the $%*%^*$$# IAP code and it just won’t work! I have got the head of QA to test the IAP with his accounts, we have asked London to update some settings on the google accounts settings, it still doesn’t work. I take a break and work on a different feature for a day or two.\nFriday: I have sorted out the session management code, now if someone tries to login with two mobile devices at the same time, only one is permitted. Its a annoying security flaw & I’m glad its cleared. I tick it off in the tracking software and go back to the IAP code. The QA head has given me his password so I can check the settings on the google portal. He also says that he managed to get an IAP working once. So I give it another try.\nI test the IAP, still failing the same error. On a hunch, I create a new user on the phone and use the QA head’s account. I then test the IAP again. IT WORKS!!!!!\nI make a couple of scribbles notes on my google docs to remind me what I did, so I don’t forget when I get back in, then I go for lunch happy.\nFriday afternoon, the entire office goes out to watch ‘Solo: a Star Wars Story’, because we are all a massive bunch of geeks and the management agreed to treat us (we don’t watch movies every week).\nFriday evening is spent chatting at the pub and enjoying the exceptionally good weather we are having.\nI didn’t finish the IAP’s this week, but I did clear one task, and I think the problem is now solved. So when I get back to the office I will be testing again, updating the wiki on a step by step process on setting up the IAP and testing it, so that QA can verify it works ok. Next week will start with the stand up, a plan for the week, lots more work, and a show and tell at the end of the week. I might show the IAP’s working, but its not that interesting compared to the incredible stuff that the graphics programmer and VFX guys get up to (explosions galore).\n\nBut overall thats what a week is like. Work, communication, some weeks we have playtests, the jukebox playing in the background, a lot of hard work, a team of incredibly talented and passionate developers. Some weeks a lot gets done, other weeks we hit blockers and a task can drag on, but we beat it in the end.\n\nIt may not sound it, but this is the best job I have ever had, I love the job, the team, the company.       "body": "Here are some reasons to do it:\n\n\n1) Find out the root cause.\n\nAre you burned out from working 27 hours a day, 9 days a week since before you can remember? This is a signal that you need a rest or a change. Human beings are not meant to work all the time. Our paleolithic ancestors worked, on average, about 20 hours a week. (Yeah, we members of modern society are getting hosed.) Maybe you feel overwhelmed, are afraid to fail at the task, or you just don’t want to do the task; these are discrete problems with separate solutions. Finding out the root cause of your laziness can help you make the changes you need to make to be a more effective and energetic person.\n\n2) Find your passion for the work.\n\n\nYou started doing what you do for a reason, but sometimes, even the tasks we love the most can become dreary and mundane. When this happens, remind yourself why you started doing it in the first place. You must have had a passion for it at some point, or you wouldn’t be bothering with it. Remind yourself of the good points of the work, not just the parts that suck.\n\n3) Break up your time.\n\nPeople work more efficiently when they have ample rest time. Working in short, focused bursts is far more effective than trying to slog through the task all at once. (College students: Remember that last term paper that you finished in three hours at 4am, working on caffeine, nicotine, and adrenaline? Yeah. I thought so.) Not only will you be happier with the end product, but you’ll feel better and more energized after completing it.\n\n4) Look at ways you can do the task more efficiently.\n\nWhen possible, work smarter instead of harder. We’ve already talked about why working hard doesn’t work as well. If you can find a better way to do the task, you’re more likely to enjoy it because you’re not simply performing the task by rote, but rather, using your creativity and imagination to their best effect. This will make you feel better about the job and probably enjoy it more, too.\n\n5) Ask for help or support.\n\n\nSometimes, we just need a little extra backup. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help from a more motivated coworker, friend, or family member. This is a useful way to get you up and moving, because they will motivate you to do the task. At the same time, you may be doing them a favor by motivating them to work harder. A little friendly competition never hurt anyone!\n\n6) Think about why you don’t want to do the task.\n\nThis sounds like a rehash of number 1, but it’s really not. Some jobs we don’t want to do because they’re just not fun. Mowing the lawn, cleaning the house, or getting under the car and replacing the alternator all have one thing in common. People don’t like doing these jobs because they take time and energy, they’re not pleasant, and we know that sooner or later, we’ll just be doing the same thing all over again. However, instead of thinking about why you don’t want to do the task, think about the benefits. Your car will run better, the Homeowners’ Association won’t be leaving you a nasty gram for the sixth time this month, and your house will look nicer and feel more welcoming. By turning a negative into a positive, you’ll find your outlook about these tasks will be more positive too.\n\n7) Force yourself.\n\n\nSometimes there’s just no getting around it. All the good advice and wishes in the world won’t make the job look any better. In these cases, you need to remember you’re an intelligent, mature member of Homo Sapiens, and get off your butt. While it may not be fun at the time, you can look back on the task you did later and say, “Yeah. I did that.” You shouldn’t have to force yourself out of bed every morning (this is a warning sign of depression that you should NOT ignore), but every once in a while, we need to force ourselves to do something we just don’t want to do. Believe it or not, you’ll be proud of yourself once the task is done.",

I think that in 2017 we’ll see similar resources pop up that will curate the best video content around a particular topic or niche.\nWebinars Will Be The Best Converting Marketing Channel For Products\n\nMany SaaS companies have already realized that webinars attendees convert a 2–3x the rate of email subscribers or inbound marketing leads. That’s because they actually want to see the thing they’re buying, watch it be applied to a situation similar to theirs, and talk to the people behind it. Doing so helps them more confident that they are making the right purchasing decision.\nLive Video Will Challenge Podcasting And Blogging As The Best Knowledge Sharing Medium\n\nWe’re already seeing this trend gain steam in some industries. Professional gamers have been interacting with their fans through live video on Twitch for years. Webinars, as we mentioned previously, are cementing their position as a foundation of product marketing strategy. Personally, I tune in to Facebook Live every week to watch Matthew Berry’s live fantasy football Q&A session. \n\nAgain, watching live video is the next best thing to being in the room with someone you respect or admire. I think this strategy makes huge strides in the first six months of 2017.\nVideo Will Extend Beyond Product Marketing \n\n2017 will be the year that video extends beyond marketing and into adjacent business functions like customer support, training, and employee onboarding. \n\nWould you rather point someone to a 2,000-word article on how to troubleshoot their issue with your software or direct them to a 5 minute video where someone visually walks them through every step with voiceover directions? How much would a video knowledgebase cut down on required customer support time and resources?\n\nWe think that video has broad implications for employee training and coaching. On average, sales reps that use our video-based practice software record their pitch 7–9 times before submitting one for their manager to review. Managers can then provide contextual feedback that is marked at specific points throughout the video.
