Selagi mereka bercanda ria di pantai, empat penjaga pantai di sebuah gardu kayu memandang dengan tatapan awas.\n\nPada Desember 2004, seluruh kawasan ini tersapu bersih oleh gelombang tsunami. Banyak orang meninggal dunia dan kalaupun ada penyintas, mereka hanya menyisakan baju di badan.\n\nBencana ini awalnya membuat penduduk setempat trauma dan tidak berani menginjakkan kaki di bibir pantai, apalagi berenang. Namun, berkat kemajuan ekonomi, upaya rekonstruksi, serta kesepakatan damai antara kubu separatis, Pantai Lampuuk berubah menjadi tujuan wisata yang ramai dikunjungi turis.",
