| body | **Pickling** is a process of preserving vegetables or fruits by soaking it in brine ( saturated salt water) which produces natural preservatives which increases the shelf life of food.  If the food is having enough moisture, coating it with salt will lead to produce brine by itself. This process leads to fermentation which gives the pickle it's tangy taste and increased shelf life. Non fermentation method uses vinegar as a preservative. Vinegar itself is fermented liquid. Pickeling process reduces the Ph of food to about 4.6 or even lower which kills the bacteria.  In India, other spices like clove, cinnamon, asafoetida, mustard etc are used to improve taste and flavour. Commercially available pickles have added preservatives and lots of oil which may have some side effects, so they should be avoided. **food to be pickled in India ** There are thousands of varieties of pickle in India. Common food included are-  Raw mango Carrrot Lemon Fenugric Dates Garlic Green chili Cheekpea Onion Amla Beetroot Meat Cauliflower Cucumber Red chili and many more. **Nutritional facts** Pickle are very high in sodium level and other minerals. Apart from this they have antioxidants, fibres,Carbohydrates, sugar, fat, protein etc. **Health benefits** * Pickles are rich in antioxidants. * During the process of Pickeling, some probiotic bacterias are produced which improves digestion. * Pickles are rich in vitamins and minerals which builds immunity. * Vinegar based pickles help in reducing blood sugar level so helpful in diabetic person. * The tangy taste of pickles helps in morning sickness and nausea during pregnancy. * Relieves muscle cramps. **Side effects ** If consumption of pickle is not kept in moderate amount, it may lead to some side effects like - * Increased risk of hypertension and heart disease * Too much oil in pickle can Increase cholesterol level * Too much consumption may increase risk of esophagial Cancer and peptic ulcer. | body | Hey friends, Mary Christmas to all. Festivals have so much of positive energy in Itself Which leaves its positive aura around us. The whole atmosphere becomes full of joy and happiness. We will see some tips to stay healthy in that party mood.  * Do not resist yourself from your favorite dishes. You can have dessert or cheesy food. That is OK but limit those unhealthy food once a day. Try to opt for healthy dishes for other meals.  * Try not to compromise with your sleep. Take at least 6-8 hours of sleep.  * Keep your body well hydrated.  * Try to include walking in your vacation routine.  * Do not over eat. * You can go for swimming at your hotel to burn some calories.  * Do not have food before going to bed. * Try to avoid packaged food. Have fresh dishes. You can pack home made food with you. So friends.... Stay healthy this vacation. And once again Mary Christmas....  |

| body | **Tea** is the most popular beverage in the whole world.  **15th December** of every year is Celebrated as **International tea day** globally. This day is celebrated by the tea grower countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Indonesia, India, Kenya etc. And the main intention for the celebration is to draw attention of the governments and citizens of the world which can impact the global trade of tea. On this international tea day, we will see some herbal tea recepies- You can have them as hot or iced preparations. * **Lemon tea**  Add lemon grass in the preparation of the tea and required amount and type of sweetener. It gives refreshing feel and benefits of vitamin C. * **Peppermint tea**  Add leaves of peppermint in your tea that will reduce heart burn and respiratory problems. * **Lavender tea**  It calms digestive system, improves sleep and helps people with depression. Combine lavender with any type of mint and add lemon and sweetener of your choice. * **Green tea**  Green tea is fully loaded with antioxidants. It helps reduce weight if taken without milk and sugar. * **Elaichi (Cardamom) tea**  This is the perfect flavour for any season whether it may be a hot summer. This type of milk tea will give you soothing feel and specially if taken with a company of your loved one. * **Apple tea**  This tea is made up with green tea, cinnamon, stewed apple, lemon and sweetener of needed. This is a very unique formulation with a unique tangy taste. It Gives very soothing, exciting and refreshing feel. * **Indian spiced tea**  Personally,this is my favorite type of tea. Indian tea masala is made up of various types of spices like cinnamon, cardamom, clove, black pepper, dried ginger, nutmeg etc. I add mint leaves also.. You need to add this mix of spiced while preparing milk tea with or without sugar. Believe me, it gives a dose of refreshment after a tiresome day and gives you energy to work. Science has studied the effect of fasting on human health and longevity of life. **fasting** is the practice of limiting calorie intake to a certain period of time generally between 8-12. **benefits ** * Proection from obesity And associated chronic diseases by limiting calorie intake * Improves fitness * Causes detoxification * Enhance heart health by reducing blood pressure and bad cholesterol level * Improves brain function and immune system * Aids weight loss * Increases level of growth hormone which plays a vital role in growth, metabolism and weight loss * delay aging * Fasting causes degeneration of cancer causing cells **how does it work? ** Our digestive system works in a particular rhythm like it works to the fullest when we eat Something as it has to digest to food we ate. When the digested food gets absorbed by different organs, the digestive system goes in **standby ** mode and becomes active again when we eat something. When the system finishes it's work after the last meal we eat, it does some self Maintenance work. Now if we eat something may it be a small cup of ice cream mid-night, the maintenance gets disturbed which affects the whole body systems.  **side effects ** Fasting should be done according to individual body needs and limitations otherwise it may cause some side effects like- * In diabetics or a person with low blood sugar, fasting may lead to major changes in blood sugar level which may be dangerous * It may cause dehydration if not keept your body hydrated * It may lead to nutritional deficiencies if proper nutrient rich food is not taken during eating period So consultation to a dietitian or a doctor should be done before a planned fasting to improve the effects of it. |

But with the change in food habits and development of cooking techniques, forces of chewing are reduced which has reduced the jaw bone size over a period of time. They don't show any interest in the interaction with the people around them may it be their family or neighbours. Gradually this leads to social isolation and many other problems like **obesity** due to lack of exercise, **stress and depression** due to keeping mind constantly busy with social media or games, **misuse of informations on internet** leading to lack of privacy and security, **lack of sexual bounderies** due to availability of pornographic material. * **Pollution**  With the advancement in mechanical engineering, civil engineering and even in electronics field there has been drastic increase in waste materials. With the increase in number of industries, there has been much increase in water pollution, air pollution, noice pollution and even now a days pollution due to e-waste has been a big problem.
