| title | Is it really the money we’re after? |
| body | ‘How I wish I had x amount of money’, ‘Any jobs out there that pay x amount?’ We’re heard these statements all too many times. We may even have said them ourselves. They come in all kinds of permutations, but are essentially the same thing — a wish for more money borne out of the thinking that cash is the solution to all the pain in one’s life. Just the other day, while having a conversation with a former colleague, the same subject came up. She repeated again her wish to win big in the lottery. Curious, I asked her if it was really the money that she is after in life and why was it so important for her to have a lot of money? She replied that with money, she wouldn’t have to worry so much anymore. Well, who was I to judge her? I didn’t say anything more and just wished her well. But this conversation got me thinking. Is money really going to banish one’s worries? A compulsive worrier is always going to worry — money or no money. One doesn’t need money to fix the problem of worrying too much. One doesn’t need to wait to have money to get rid of anxiety. Worry, fear, anxiety, doubt and all negativity of such ilk all stem from the mind. And that’s good news. Why? Because it doesn’t cost any money at all to fix one’s state of mind. It’s absolutely 100% free! No hidden charges! Just make a decision today to stop worrying, to be better, to feel better and to leave all negativity behind. Forget the big sums of money. If it’s your constant worries that you want to get rid of, that’s something you can fix right now. |

| title | A phone call with Fear |
| body | The phone rings. I pick it up. “Hello?” I say “It’s me” says Fear. “I’m calling you again to warn you not to do what you’re about to do because you won’t succeed.” If this were me a few months ago, I’d had replied: “Thanks for the reminder. It was a close call! If not for you, I may well have gone ahead and did it. It was too big of a risk for someone as inadequate as me, wasn’t it?” Nowadays, though, here’s how I’m responding to these calls: “Can you please hold? Now is not a good time to talk, I’m about to do something important” Many minutes later…”Oh hey, you’re still there? Now, what can I do for you?….Oh, that? Don’t do it, did you say? Oh sorry. Too late now. I’ve done it. And guess what, it turned out ok. More importantly, I feel great for having done it!…Now did you need anything else?” Line goes dead… For more, visit http://minimumfearmaximumlife.wordpress.com |

| title | Don’t dwell. Just don't. |
| body | I’m no self-help guru. Neither am I one of those tech entrepreneurs whose money in the bank seems to earn them the right to start teaching people how to be successful. I’m just a regular guy who’s decided to make a profound change in his life, starting with overcoming fear and doubt. This blog is not an advice column from someone who’s been there and done that. Hardly. It’s just a platform for me to chronicle my journey through change and to share the experiences as they happen, and any lessons I may learn along the way. Speaking of lessons, one thing I have learned is not to dwell on the negativity. Fear, anxiety and doubt will never go away. I find them to be very natural, even instinctive, human responses that are bound to surface in any situation we perceive to be unfamiliar, risky or dangerous. So, forget about banishing them. That’s never going to happen because they are just going to keep coming back. The trick is to acknowledge their existence and then quickly move on. Don’t dwell. Realise you have better things ahead and don’t let them keep you from doing those things. Treat them like that horrible ex you had, if you were ever to bump into him/her unexpectedly on the streets. No need for avoidance. Be a class act instead — acknowledge him/her, say hi. Then, tell them ‘Sorry, would love to chat but I can’t stay. Gotta go!’ and get the heck out of there. That’s what I’m doing these days — telling and reminding myself constantly that I have greater priorities to attend to and like that bad ex, fear and doubt are unnecessary distractions that I simply have neither the time nor desire to get re-acquainted with. Don’t dwell. Move on. Get ahead. For more, visit https://minimumfearmaximumlife.wordpress.com/ |

Realise you have better things ahead and don’t let them keep you from doing those things.\n\nTreat them like that horrible ex you had, if you were ever to bump into him/her unexpectedly on the streets. No need for avoidance. Be a class act instead — acknowledge him/her, say hi. Then, tell them ‘Sorry, would love to chat but I can’t stay. Gotta go!’ and get the heck out of there.\n\nThat’s what I’m doing these days — telling and reminding myself constantly that I have greater priorities to attend to and like that bad ex, fear and doubt are unnecessary distractions that I simply have neither the time nor desire to get re-acquainted with.\n\nDon’t dwell. Move on. Get ahead.\n\nFor more, visit https://minimumfearmaximumlife.wordpress.com/",

| body | To live fearlessly, one needs a good dose of immunity. Most times, our fears, well mine at least, stem from being overly self-conscious about opinion of others about me. Fear is really a self-censorship mechanism kicking in, trying to roadblock me from doing anything remotely risky that could make me a possible laughing stock, or at minimum land me in what my mind tells me could be an awkward, slightly embarrassing situation. That’s why we need immunity. No one’s gonna give that to us, so we are gonna have to award it to ourselves. Go ahead, make yourself one of those ‘Get out of jail free’ cards and keep them in your pocket or give it to your loved one to hold on to. Then, next time you think about doing something you find scary and start hesitating, tell yourself that whatever the outcome there’s nothing to worry about because you have a free pass. You’ve pre-forgiven yourself for any mistakes. You’ve prepaid your own redemption. So, just do what it is you need to do and if it doesn’t work out, play that card to wipe your slate clean again. Start over. Try it. It works. For more, visit http://minimumfearmaximumlife.wordpress.com |

| body | Someone remarked that I seem more cheerful and a whole lot more positive lately. I’ll take that any day. I have not set out deliberately to be a bundle of joy and positivity. It seems to be a welcome side effect of this journey to live fearlessly and free of self-doubt. Never quite expected it to be this way, but taking a step back and thinking about it, this change makes complete sense. The more I banish fear, anxiety and doubt from my life, the more repel these toxins, the larger a vacuum it creates in me and almost very naturally, optimism, positivity and all that good stuff will fill up that void. This tells me that optimism has been waiting patiently to move in all this while, but this less than savvy landlord had allowed a nightmare of a tenant called fear to overstay way too long. Well, here’s to fresh, and monumentally better, start |

| title | Fearless living |
| body | If one were to plot the journey of fearless living on a chart, it is not gonna be a line going continuously upwards. More often than not, the journey is going to punctuated by periods of regression, the feeling as if having taking a huge leap forward, one has slid back two steps and has ended up in worse position than when one started. The regression is real, but the feeling that one has ended up in worse situation than before? That’s exactly what it is, just a feeling. Make no mistake, there are going to be bad days, off days, days when the old enemy — fear and self-doubt — creeps in and we fall back to our old habits and let anxiety, worry, insecurity dictate our actions. On such days, it feels like all the good work we have done, the bold steps we have taken, have been completely undone by our reversion to our old ways. When those feelings come, ignore them because they are not real. Give no airtime to the voice coming from your old, fearful, doubt-filled self, but tune in to the sound of your new fearless self. As long as you don’t doubt yourself, you are already making progress, even when it may feel like you’re not. Keep on pushing forward, no matter what. The charts of our journeys will not be an uninterrupted upward line but will in fact, on occasion flatline, if not suffer a pullback. That’s only natural. Any setback is an opporunity for re-evaluation, review and to re-commit. The important thing is to remember that we’re in this journey for the long haul and as long as we stay the course, in the long run, we can bet that any setbacks will be temporary, and we will bounce back and the general trendline will resume its an upward trajectory. That’s progress no one can argue with. Visit http://minimumfearmaximumlife.wordpress.com for more |
