titleAs an Entrepreneur, How do you stay Creative? by Pascal Okeke
body![buiyj.fw.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaa4QuJMDohDVFZKTjoqNsv8DcAZ2T3jYAtK49d79k4Gk/buiyj.fw.png) My name is Pascal Okeke, I read an article sometime ago, infact last week and attempted answering some questions listed towards the end of the text. This morning, I decided to check other answers in the comment box and a certain answer struct me as the question for which the answer was provided for was kinda twisted. #TheQuestion: As an Entrepreneur, How do you stay Creative? #TheAnswer: "You keep copying other ideas. And if you want to be known to be creative by those around you, you just need to make sure you don’t reveal your sources. I’ve worked with some incredibly ‘creative’ entrepreneurs. In all cases I eventually realized that they were just getting all their ideas by reading around. And that makes sense. Just imagine how much more ‘creative’ you can be by reading about other ideas, tens every hour, than you could be by closing your eyes and trying to come up with them yourself. “Good artists copy, but great artists steal.” - possibly Pablo What would have been your answer to the above question?

titleFocus is Trained not Obtained by Pascal Okeke
bodyJust like your body: if you train regularly, you’ll become an athlete; but if you spend your days on the sofa, you’ll become a couch potato. hahahha Whatever you do, you get good at. I have met people who have in one time or the other asked me questions on how they can become a better version of themselves by being focus, So today, i will list out few habits that drain your focus and hold you back from being able to own your day and get everything done. #1 — PLANNING TO ACTION I change the same landing page 3 – 4 times a year. I have this friend here on #ZuckerVille who must have sent me 10 different pitch decks of the same thing. A client used to plan the same spreadsheet every week. Though one of my favourite quotes is “a battle is won before it is ever fought”, the truth is that planning without action is useless. When you keep tweaking your plan, colouring up your spreadsheet, changing the top of a landing page…without taking any action, all you’re really doing is planning to plan. This is a great excuse to procrastinate and avoid taking action. It also disrupts your focus, as it provides an easy way to get distracted. And not do the actual work. #2 — INFOCRASTINATION In 2016, I read two books about dating and relationships. I went on a few dates earlier that year and…let’s say I wasn’t too happy with the raw material. I clearly had to change my strategy. When I closed the second book, I was pretty confused. I knew what I needed to do: take some action. The first time I spoke to a girl,, my right leg was shaking so much, I looked like a tip tap dancer. She said yes. I asked for her number. She said yes. I hand over my oversized phone (still trembling). Success. When I felt confused, it was tempting to read a third book. Would that have got me a girl’s number? I doubt it. Somehow, we think that reading a book about business will get you closer to being a business owner. Or that a book about dating psychology will make you an irresistible seducer. Reading more makes us feel accomplished. But actually, whenever you read a self-help book, the work starts when you close the book, not when you open it. That’s why I like to have at least one takeaway from each book, so I can implement it straight away, and see whether it’s for me or not. When you open another book instead, you are just procrastinating by seeking more information. Without action, you don’t need more information. That’s infocrastination. Expecting the book (or blogpost) to do the work for you. Since there are around 1 million new books published every year, it’s easy to get lost down the rabbit hole. Read. Action. Repeat. #3 — NOTIFICATIONS AND DISTRACTIONS I kept checking my phone. It started with me waiting for a message and then…I just kept doing it. What was I doing? My phone was training me. Or maybe I was doing it all myself. By looking at notifications, I was getting used to expecting more. So I would look even when there were none. Heck, I wanted more! Same with being able to google every useless question that came to mind. I kept googling things I’d never remember, instead of creating timeless memories. We love notifications, because they make us feel needed. Like stuff is happening, and it’s happening NOW. Our brain loves notifications, because every time you complete a task -no matter how small- it gets rewarded with a spike of dopamine, the feel-good chemical. They’re actually chemically addictive. Now the choice is this: you can spend your day replying to messages, emails, calls, and all the likes, or you can switch off and focus on making real progress on what matters to you. In the first case, you’ll feel good throughout the day, and awful at the end of the day. In the second case, you’ll feel kinda bad throughout the day, and amazing at the end of the day and at the end of the week. But you have to choose. You can’t have the constant stream of interruptions and information and also want to never be distracted. It’s either or. #4 — MULTITASKING We often want to stay focused on one thing, but at the same time work on many other things. What. With phones, tablets, laptops, emails, whatsapps, messages, slacks, instagrams, colleagues, peoples, younameit, we have a constant stream of communication wanting our attention. Talk about staying focused. That’s like saying “I want to diet, but I’ll eat whatever I want”. The best technique to stay focused is to mono-task on one thing at a time. Studies have now shown that multi-tasking is not only a myth, it’s really bad. When you multitask your brain keeps switching between tasks very quickly. But your attention is spread (very thin) across all the different things you do. It’s like having one project manager for 100 projects. It won’t end well. Multitasking is also shown to lower your IQ by 10 points. When you think that the average IQ is 90 to 100, well, yeah, that's a big deal. So, the best way to stay focused is to mono-task. Do less things, and get rid of unnecessary distractions. Hide your phone, block your emails. I like to use Freedom to block distracting apps from my phone and laptop. It sounds hypocritical, but by working on one thing at a time you will get so much more done. Because instead of opening a lot of different tasks, you will finally start closing a lot of different tasks. #5 — TIREDNESS When it comes to sleep, most people max out their sleep Bank Account. Instead of getting a good night sleep, they stretch their day out as much as possible to fit in more things. This is usual due to either: Not working on the right things (and wanting to keep going) Leaving yourself last (and then not wanting to wrap up a mediocre day) Here’s the issue: when you extend your day into the evening, all you’re doing is borrowing time from tomorrow. You’re not creating new time. It’s like using a credit card. In fact, tomorrow you’ll be tired, you’ll wake up late and have a shorter day, and be stuck in the negative cycle. Your focus will be terrible, and you won’t be able to get anything done so…you’ll stretch your day out into the night again. In other words, you’ll be paying those hours back with interest. I may not have made good points but then, You can discuss the rest with me on the Comment Box. #Iampascalokeke![40748419_1852396194873451_6461341709111394304_n.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTfphmF15DSbbgWFP7kCGwq58mLG1LBCDkSA9x9KK9A1B/40748419_1852396194873451_6461341709111394304_n.jpg)

"body": "Just like your body: if you train regularly, you’ll become an athlete; but if you spend your days on the sofa, you’ll become a couch potato. hahahha\n\nWhatever you do, you get good at.\n\nI have met people who have in one time or the other asked me questions on how they can become a better version of themselves by being focus, So today, i will list out few habits that drain your focus and hold you back from being able to own your day and get everything done.\n\n#1 — PLANNING TO ACTION\n\nI change the same landing page 3 – 4 times a year.\nI have this friend here on #ZuckerVille who must have sent me 10 different pitch decks of the same thing.\nA client used to plan the same spreadsheet every week.\n\nThough one of my favourite quotes is “a battle is won before it is ever fought”, the truth is that planning without action is useless.\n\nWhen you keep tweaking your plan, colouring up your spreadsheet, changing the top of a landing page…without taking any action, all you’re really doing is planning to plan.\n\nThis is a great excuse to procrastinate and avoid taking action.\nIt also disrupts your focus, as it provides an easy way to get distracted.\n\nAnd not do the actual work.\n\n#2 — INFOCRASTINATION\n\nIn 2016, I read two books about dating and relationships. I went on a few dates earlier that year and…let’s say I wasn’t too happy with the raw material. I clearly had to change my strategy.\n\nWhen I closed the second book, I was pretty confused. I knew what I needed to do: take some action.\n\nThe first time I spoke to a girl,, my right leg was shaking so much, I looked like a tip tap dancer.\n\nShe said yes. I asked for her number. She said yes.\n\nI hand over my oversized phone (still trembling). Success.\n\nWhen I felt confused, it was tempting to read a third book.\nWould that have got me a girl’s number? I doubt it.\n\nSomehow, we think that reading a book about business will get you closer to being a business owner. Or that a book about dating psychology will make you an irresistible seducer. Reading more makes us feel accomplished.\n\nBut actually, whenever you read a self-help book, the work starts when you close the book, not when you open it. That’s why I like to have at least one takeaway from each book, so I can implement it straight away, and see whether it’s for me or not.\n\nWhen you open another book instead, you are just procrastinating by seeking more information. Without action, you don’t need more information.\n\nThat’s infocrastination. Expecting the book (or blogpost) to do the work for you.\n\nSince there are around 1 million new books published every year, it’s easy to get lost down the rabbit hole.\n\nRead. Action. Repeat.\n\n#3 — NOTIFICATIONS AND DISTRACTIONS\n\nI kept checking my phone.\n\nIt started with me waiting for a message and then…I just kept doing it.\n\nWhat was I doing?\n\nMy phone was training me. Or maybe I was doing it all myself.\nBy looking at notifications, I was getting used to expecting more. So I would look even when there were none. Heck, I wanted more!\n\nSame with being able to google every useless question that came to mind.\nI kept googling things I’d never remember, instead of creating timeless memories.\n\nWe love notifications, because they make us feel needed. Like stuff is happening, and it’s happening NOW.\n\nOur brain loves notifications, because every time you complete a task -no matter how small- it gets rewarded with a spike of dopamine, the feel-good chemical.\nThey’re actually chemically addictive.\n\nNow the choice is this: you can spend your day replying to messages, emails, calls, and all the likes, or you can switch off and focus on making real progress on what matters to you.\nIn the first case, you’ll feel good throughout the day, and awful at the end of the day.\nIn the second case, you’ll feel kinda bad throughout the day, and amazing at the end of the day and at the end of the week.\n\nBut you have to choose.\nYou can’t have the constant stream of interruptions and information and also want to never be distracted. It’s either or.\n\n#4 — MULTITASKING\n\nWe often want to stay focused on one thing, but at the same time work on many other things.\n\nWhat.\n\nWith phones, tablets, laptops, emails, whatsapps, messages, slacks, instagrams, colleagues, peoples, younameit, we have a constant stream of communication wanting our attention.\n\nTalk about staying focused.\n\nThat’s like saying “I want to diet, but I’ll eat whatever I want”.\n\nThe best technique to stay focused is to mono-task on one thing at a time.\n\nStudies have now shown that multi-tasking is not only a myth, it’s really bad.\n\nWhen you multitask your brain keeps switching between tasks very quickly. But your attention is spread (very thin) across all the different things you do. It’s like having one project manager for 100 projects. It won’t end well.\n\nMultitasking is also shown to lower your IQ by 10 points.\nWhen you think that the average IQ is 90 to 100, well, yeah, that's a big deal.\n\nSo, the best way to stay focused is to mono-task.\n\nDo less things, and get rid of unnecessary distractions.\n\nHide your phone, block your emails.\nI like to use Freedom to block distracting apps from my phone and laptop.\n\nIt sounds hypocritical, but by working on one thing at a time you will get so much more done. Because instead of opening a lot of different tasks, you will finally start closing a lot of different tasks.\n\n#5 — TIREDNESS\n\nWhen it comes to sleep, most people max out their sleep Bank Account.\n\nInstead of getting a good night sleep, they stretch their day out as much as possible to fit in more things. This is usual due to either:\n\nNot working on the right things (and wanting to keep going)\nLeaving yourself last (and then not wanting to wrap up a mediocre day)\nHere’s the issue: when you extend your day into the evening, all you’re doing is borrowing time from tomorrow. You’re not creating new time.\n\nIt’s like using a credit card. In fact, tomorrow you’ll be tired, you’ll wake up late and have a shorter day, and be stuck in the negative cycle.\n\nYour focus will be terrible, and you won’t be able to get anything done so…you’ll stretch your day out into the night again.\n\nIn other words, you’ll be paying those hours back with interest.\n\nI may not have made good points but then, You can discuss the rest with me on the Comment Box.\n\n#Iampascalokeke![40748419_1852396194873451_6461341709111394304_n.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmTfphmF15DSbbgWFP7kCGwq58mLG1LBCDkSA9x9KK9A1B/40748419_1852396194873451_6461341709111394304_n.jpg)",

titleWhat is the meaning of Life? By Pascal Okeke
bodyNothing in life has any meaning, except the meaning that we give it. Throughout our existance, we seek to change how we feel about the experience that is our life. And we always want to feel good or at least avoid feeling bad about ourselves, our choices, decision, in short “our” world. What determines when we feel good or when we feel bad? Whether we feel good or whether we feel bad, is entirely based on what think certain situations in our life mean to us. That is why two different people can be in the exact same situation but react completely differently. Just think about people that grow up under difficult circumstances. Maybe their parents were abusive, or they didn’t even have someone that loved them and taught them about life. What happens? Some of those people take this experience of growing up and make it mean: “I never even had a chance. No one loved me!” Others take this experience and make it mean: “Because this happened to me, I will give my all, so that my kids won’t experience the same.” Similiar people. Similiar backgrounds. But don’t you think that one of the two interpretations of meaning will have a radically different outcome on how life will turn out for that person? Who of the two is happier, more connected socially and lives a fulfilling life? You’ve got to take control of the meaning that you give events, people and situations in your life or else you will be controlled by your gut-level reactions of fear and laziness. The next time you get angry or frustrated ask yourself: “What do I have to believe in order to feel this way? What do I think is the meaning of this?” When we get frustrated or angry it is usually because we perceive things to be out of our immediate control or agianst the notion of how we want things to be. But when we take a closer look, is this really so? What is the real meaning behind this? While you are still pondering on this, lemme go and fry plantain. #iampascalokeke #StreetWriter ![22090135_1556223774423871_8646772169716677355_n.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmcZgoSwh3C2PWXiVmqpciWgsZYBgLCA99nSyHQK5tUJvT/22090135_1556223774423871_8646772169716677355_n.jpg)

titleWhy do you do what you do? By Pascal Okeke
bodyI had an interesting conversation during break time today with a passionate entrepreneur/Startup Founder. “Tell me Obi, why are you starting this business?” “I have ONE mission, to MAKE MONEY!” he quickly answered. “Obinna, that’s not a clear why. I asked you what’s your mission, what’s your purpose to start this business?” I insisted. “Well, money! This is what everyone wants. Right? Show me the money Pascal” “Yes Obi, we all need money. But, is this the ONLY reason you’re getting into this business? To make money?” “Well, duh! Pascal that’s so obvious! I want to make MONEY!” He was very impatient by now. “Well… that’s wrong! Actually that’s the number one trap entrepreneurs fall when starting a business.” “That is nonsense Pascal! Why is this a trap?” “Money is the result, NOT the mission or purpose of a business. Your business model should exist to serve the mission, not the other way around!” “That doesn't make sense. I want to make money. I need to make money! I want to be a millionaire! I don't care how! This may be a good business! Coach me! Don't bother me!” “I’m protecting you Obinna!” “Nonsense!” He replied angrily. “Obinna, this is what will happen if you move forward with an empty mission. You will either fail or get into trouble. Eventually you will become a slave of your business. If you have a passionate mission you will enjoy the journey!” “But I will be the boss! I will never be slaved by my business!” “It’s your attitude Obi! Founders that are in just for the money will usually quit before the company becomes successful. It’s very hard to start a business, without passion you will quit facing the hard times. If you want money, you will easily move away in search of money. There are easier ways to make money than starting a business!” “I’m passionate about MONEY!” He paused for a second thinking about what he just said. “Yes! Yes! That’s my passion! I will NEVER quit! I’m like a shark seeking blood!” What is your mission for your Business? Let's roll it! #iampascalokeke #StreetWriter![DSC_6301.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmW6wGUq7UCksDNhnqHYXZBSiaXXAbrbZbtcny7CEWsPCB/DSC_6301.JPG)

titleLonliness + Connectivity + Our Environment By Pascal Okeke
bodyYou will be alone most of the time. Not lonely, but alone. Try to understand the difference to avoid unnecessary suffering. Happiness will not come easily as it came when you were young. You would have to work towards it. Discipline and sacrifice would be your best bet. Life will get boring. Your mind will wander. Learn to control it before it starts controlling you. Your best friend might no longer be your best friend. Your ex would have already moved on. You will struggle. But it will imbue you with lots of wisdom. So don't curse yourself. You'll realise in retrospect that very few people really loved you whilst others just wanted something out of you. Memories are not always good. More than often, they induce unnecessary fear, anxiety and mood swings. Time starts becoming the most valuable commodity. It will treat you like shit if you treat it cheaply. Whether you like it or not, people will talk behind you. Sometimes it would be the people whom you trusted the most. Learn to ignore them. You'll run down the guilt-valley more often than before. You will do things which you know is not good for you but will anyways end up doing it. You will invariably be distracted by foul things. This is your mind conquering your weak spot. Like I said, discipline can save you. You'll realize that success is not that easy after all. It's that difficult. You would be tempted to give up on your dreams and live an average life. Don't. Things will go wrong. Personally and professionally. The unexpected will happen. There won't be any reason/person to blame on. Your faith in humanity will plummet all of a sudden. But hey, don't give up. Move on. You will soon start noticing your parents are getting old, your best friend is suffering from illness or money constraint. You realize how much time you've wasted playing the ego game. So don't wait. Make that phone call now. Most of the times, you'll experience fear for no reason. When things are going good, you'll dread on ‘what if this happiness goes away?’. When things are not going good, you'll still dread on what's going to happen next. You'll get your heart broken multiple times. And you'll have to break a couple of hearts yourself. That's life. There no right and wrong here. There are no good people/bad people. You'll have to come out of this cynical mind-set. There are only people who bring you pleasantness and unpleasantness. Remember, people who bring unpleasantness to you might bring pleasantness to someone else. You'll realize that multitasking is not beneficial. You start focusing on one big goal/day rather than 10 small goals/day. You'll learn to differentiate between being productive and being busy. You'll learn that not all emotions you experience are genuine. More than half of them are mere mind-games. Learn to distinguish to avoid bouts of depression. You'll be forced to change your attitude towards failures because you'll have more failures than success. You will no longer react to events, but will eventually respond to it. Reacting will get you into more trouble. Responding will move you towards a solution. You'll realise that you can't be friends with everyone. And you don't have to be. Accept this fact sooner than later. You'll realise that earning respect is more difficult than earning money. And it's the respect that would eventually make you feel proud about yourself in life. This is New Month, Start Now yo make every second Count. I am your brother and Friend. #iampascalokeke #StreetWriter![cardfronta.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmPjWvFe212dPRJzhXgUc2qnZzdta6cwtfEPmYRkqoFRCk/cardfronta.png)

"body": "You will be alone most of the time. Not lonely, but alone. Try to understand the difference to avoid unnecessary suffering.\n\nHappiness will not come easily as it came when you were young. You would have to work towards it. Discipline and sacrifice would be your best bet.\n\nLife will get boring. Your mind will wander. Learn to control it before it starts controlling you.\n\nYour best friend might no longer be your best friend. Your ex would have already moved on. You will struggle. But it will imbue you with lots of wisdom. So don't curse yourself.\n\nYou'll realise in retrospect that very few people really loved you whilst others just wanted something out of you.\n\nMemories are not always good. More than often, they induce unnecessary fear, anxiety and mood swings.\n\nTime starts becoming the most valuable commodity. It will treat you like shit if you treat it cheaply.\n\nWhether you like it or not, people will talk behind you. Sometimes it would be the people whom you trusted the most. Learn to ignore them.\n\nYou'll run down the guilt-valley more often than before. You will do things which you know is not good for you but will anyways end up doing it. You will invariably be distracted by foul things. This is your mind conquering your weak spot. Like I said, discipline can save you.\n\nYou'll realize that success is not that easy after all. It's that difficult. You would be tempted to give up on your dreams and live an average life. Don't.\n\nThings will go wrong. Personally and professionally. The unexpected will happen. There won't be any reason/person to blame on. Your faith in humanity will plummet all of a sudden. But hey, don't give up. Move on.\n\nYou will soon start noticing your parents are getting old, your best friend is suffering from illness or money constraint. You realize how much time you've wasted playing the ego game. So don't wait. Make that phone call now.\n\nMost of the times, you'll experience fear for no reason. When things are going good, you'll dread on ‘what if this happiness goes away?’. When things are not going good, you'll still dread on what's going to happen next.\n\nYou'll get your heart broken multiple times. And you'll have to break a couple of hearts yourself. That's life. There no right and wrong here.\n\nThere are no good people/bad people. You'll have to come out of this cynical mind-set. There are only people who bring you pleasantness and unpleasantness. Remember, people who bring unpleasantness to you might bring pleasantness to someone else.\n\nYou'll realize that multitasking is not beneficial. You start focusing on one big goal/day rather than 10 small goals/day. You'll learn to differentiate between being productive and being busy.\n\nYou'll learn that not all emotions you experience are genuine. More than half of them are mere mind-games. Learn to distinguish to avoid bouts of depression.\n\nYou'll be forced to change your attitude towards failures because you'll have more failures than success. You will no longer react to events, but will eventually respond to it. Reacting will get you into more trouble. Responding will move you towards a solution.\n\nYou'll realise that you can't be friends with everyone. And you don't have to be. Accept this fact sooner than later.\n\nYou'll realise that earning respect is more difficult than earning money. And it's the respect that would eventually make you feel proud about yourself in life.\n\nThis is New Month, Start Now yo make every second Count. I am your brother and Friend.\n\n#iampascalokeke\n#StreetWriter![cardfronta.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmPjWvFe212dPRJzhXgUc2qnZzdta6cwtfEPmYRkqoFRCk/cardfronta.png)",

titleStop cheating your brain. Start now - Pascal Okeke
body![IMG_20180112_124926.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUKF2JLB4VmJMJYhwH5exuUHBgZ4Y4AV9PXFCLKou24RG/IMG_20180112_124926.jpg)Today you woke up with the desire to finally get going on the projects you’ve been putting off over the last few years. You were motivated, inspired, and ready to take the first step. You showed up and got prepared for the fruitful work. Suddenly you find out that the things seem a little bit more complicated, confusing, and unfeasible. You start realizing that it’s going to be neither easy nor fast to write a book; to launch a Kickstarter campaign; to start selling on Amazon; to master a foreign language; to start a business…. or to make happen whatever you have in mind. Eventually, you arrive at the point when you don’t feel like “conquering the world” today. However, you are sure that you’ll be ready to nail it in a while. Some day you’ll get the work done. Just not today… Sounds familiar? —— I'm sure you have a big goal. Or two. Or even more. However, just like millions of people out there, you often put things off. You like to procrastinate the huge commitments. Because you know that they are going to require major effort, time, and talent. Therefore, you choose the easiest way. You postpone the beginning till “someday” trying to convince yourself that there will be a better, more favorable moment to start. However, the truth is that later often means never. If you postpone the realization of your dreams today you are not likely to get back to them ever again. Moreover, when you postpone the start, you deliberately postpone the finish. You make your journey towards the desired destination last longer. Take a second to look back and think how much time you’ve already wasted over the last few years. Now think how much more you could have achieved by now if you hadn’t been such a procrastinator. Stop cheating yourself. There won’t be a better moment to start. The best time is now. Just START! #iampascalokeke #Streetwriter

titleWhat is your definition of a FAKE FRIEND? by Pascal Okeke
bodyI used to think that my dad had a lot of friends. That’s because every day, his friends came to our house, they drank together (my dad was an alcoholic) and then went out with my dad until midnight. I really liked his friends, because they always brought me biscuits, toys, and all kids stuff. This was when we had a stable life and my dad had “money”. At that time, I was like, “Daddy’s friends are very nice, I hope they visit us more often”. Then, my dad’s businesses collapsed, he lost his money. Since that, I’d never seen his friends again. I wondered why they never visited us again and I finally asked my mom about this, Me: “Mom, where are daddy’s friends?” My mom: ”Friends?” Me: “Yeah, why they never visit us again?” My mom: “Oh, sorry honey, Your dad does not have friends.” Me: “What do you mean?” My mom: “Your dad doesn’t have friends, he only has ‘FAKE’ friends”. Of course, I didn’t know what fake friends meant at that time because I was still a kid. Years passed, I eventually realize that. What's your experience of a FAKE FRIEND? Let's talk about it! #iampascalokeke #StreetWriter![ArtworksHand_Large_2016.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmfLEdy3KExAAjXv2ksNbz8svLRh9ATLTVn8YAcF5XdWFL/ArtworksHand_Large_2016.png)

titleWhat stops you from Doing it? An Insight from the Big Journey by Pascal Okeke
bodyThe biggest “trap” i saw people falling into, up even to this moment people are still falling for it, is that if you follow what successful people teach, you will be successful. No.You.Won’t. If that is so easy, everyone would be multi-millionaire/billionaire. Why i say its a trap? Countless new so-called “guru” are popping up everywhere in social media telling people how to achieve financial freedom, how easy it is to quit your job, and that everyone can be as successful as they are. End result? Less than 1% actually turned out to be successful. But there are still tonnes and hordes of people pay hefty sum of money to attend their “secret” course ending up who got richer? You guessed it right. The “gurus”. The reason these “gurus” are making money so easily is due to the fact that everyone thought success is easily attainable. What they saw on social media, the big cars, big house, hot chicks, big parties, are all but the outliers, not the average Joes. When you are constantly exposed to these posts and photos, you will think that its easily achievable, quit your job, start your own thing ending up busting and going back to your miserable job thinking why everyone else can do it easily but not you. Lastly falling into depression and that life is like a zombie. Meaningless. Do not ever fall into trap thinking you can easily attain a “financial HALO” just because you attended or know THE secret to be rich. If anyone can pay for such secret, why would you be THE ONE to be rich? #iampascalokeke #StreetWriter ![IMG-20171002-WA0023.jpeg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUoxntbGdnAwaQSLCMXRQh5D45ropECUyBMMLg1GwjEXa/IMG-20171002-WA0023.jpeg)

titleLaugh it Off- The Story of Four Monks by Pascal Okeke
bodyFour monks decided to meditate silently without speaking for two weeks. They lit a candle as a symbol of their practice and began. By nightfall on the first day, the candle flickered and then went out. The first monk said: "Oh, no! The candle is out." The second monk said: "We’re not supposed to talk!" The third monk said: "Why must you two break the silence?" The fourth monk laughed and said: "Ha! I'm the only one who didn't speak." 95% of all talking covers only two topics: The person whose mouth is open. Stuff that’s outside our control. The first monk got distracted by an outside event and felt compelled to point it out. He could’ve just re-lit the candle. The second monk reminded everyone of a rule that had already been broken. He could’ve just kept meditating. The third monk vented his anger. He could’ve just stayed calm. The fourth monk got carried away with his ego. He could’ve just enjoyed his success in silence. What all four have in common is that they shared their thoughts without filtering them, none of which added anything to improve the situation. If there had been a fifth, wiser monk, here’s what he would have done: Remain silent and keep meditating. In doing so, he would’ve shown each of the other four monks their shortcomings without a single word. The more you talk, the more likely you are to say something stupid. The less you talk, the more you can listen. Listening leads to learning. What’s more, when you’re not talking, you have time to observe the situation until you spot the moment when it’s actually important to say something. Only speak when what you say is likely to have a significant, positive impact, for wisdom is cultivated in silence. The less you speak, the smarter you get. And, maybe not quite coincidentally, the smarter you get, the less you speak. #iampascalokeke #StreetWriter![IMG_20151009_211354.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmR4xM1QHi5j7LuvmBBT4X2yRn7nXSRXkYY99A8KdYQJkc/IMG_20151009_211354.JPG)

titleBreak Your Limits - Be Crazy Enough to Make Impact
body"Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them. - Albert Einstein" Before improving one's self, accept your limitations. When you will identify it, it will be easy to overcome your problems with unique strategy. Perhaps Improving one's self is the most difficult task in the whole world because we are habituated with our bad habits. It needs time to improve one’s self but it is not impossible. Start from now, make a little progress every day, remember your goal everyday and stick with your goal. Have a look about some way's to begin improving one's self: ~ Look in the mirror, that's your competitor: You may want to be a bestselling author, amazing entrepreneur, famous actor/actress, renowned athletes, successful blogger, popular businessman and passionate CEO. It's Okay. But don't compare yourself with other people. Just look in the mirror, you only compete with that people which are reflected in the mirror. Yes, that's you. Compare your today's performance with yesterday’s performance. Consider the progress level and improving yourself every single day. Don't waste your time to compete with other people. Your only competitor is You. If you can compete with yourself, today or tomorrow you will reach your goal of life. ~Imprison your monkey mind: Mind is a great healer and a great killer. It always works like monkey who always hops from one bunch of tree to another bunch of tree. It never stays constant to one place. It can be distracted easily. If you can't imprison your mind, it will ruin your life. You will not able to cope with any situation. Consequently, you will be failed to concentrate on any work. Your life will be stagnant. Habituate your mind for being focused and ready to learn new things. Meditation, yoga, autosuggestion, positive thinking, avoid too much virtual life, trigger to your vision, follow specific written routine, praying, physical exercise, using android app Productivity challenge timer are the effective method to imprison your monkey mind. ~Challenge your sluggish mind: Don't be sluggish. Our sluggish mind always try to escape. You always wake up late in the morning, try to spend more time under blanket during the rainy season, waste your time by doing unnecessary works, avoid risk and feel safe in your comfort zone. Get rid of your comfort zone and challenge yourself. If you fear of public speaking, just do it every day. Talk with strangers, record your own voice at recorder, talk with more people in different social circle and so on. If your mind don't want to do any work, you must rival against your mind. It will be conducive for you to improve yourself. In fact, challenge yourself that I can do it. It can be anything like study, getting good CGPA, doing photography, running every morning, cooking, writing, playing instrument, paragliding, surfing and so on. ~Follow “deep work” method: The theory focuses on deep concentration during work hour. Set a time limit when you visit online. Don't browse randomly. The main thing is building resistance to waste your time. Do it during working hour and even off hour. You must say No to all types of distractions when there's a bigger burning inside you. Distractions can be such as gaming, texting, pointless browsing, checking notifications of social media, talking with your crush most of the time, watching youtube videos continuously, chit-chat with your friends by wasting your productive hours, enjoying Tv serials such as Avengers & Game of Thrones, and so forth. When you start to work, separate yourself from outside world, literally keep away from everything. Dedication and commitment will make your work perfect. That is the main theme of deep work method. ~Learn from others mistakes: We have a tendency to learn from our mistakes. That's alright. But think from different perspective. Is it essential to learn by doing mistakes all the time? Actually we can learn many things and avoid many mistakes by observing mistakes of other people. Furthermore, develop your observing power. Surely, you can keep away yourself from those mistakes. When you will learn from those mistakes, you will be able to finish your work successfully at least by doing fewer mistakes. bodyDear Hustlepreneur/FutureHustlepreneur, let me seek your permission to talk to you at this earlier stage of your journey into this year. I am your brother and friend, Ezigbote nwa afo na onye ndū GI for this journey. Biko in the name of whatsoever you worship, ~ Be 100% committed to what you do. ~ It makes everything easier. ~ Be all in, not in between. ~ Not 95%. ~ Don’t sit on the fence. Don’t partially commit to anything. ~ Whatever you do, do it all the way. ~ Be obsessed. Give it your all. ~ If it’s not working, drop it. Change. ~ You can always change. ~ But when you’re doing the thing, commit 100%. ~ Make your decisions in a digital manner - be binary. 0 or 1. On or off. Yes or no. All in or nothing. Because there’s just not enough time in this world to half-do things. ~ To not give it your all. Will Smith said: "If it was something that I really committed myself to, I don't think there's anything that could stop me becoming President of the United States". Decide what it is you want to do and thank me Later. titleThursday Motivation by Pascal Okeke
bodyThis is one thing that I have told almost every person i have ever met and it works like a charm. I have seen that many people are unhappy with their lives. They don’t know the reason behind it. Even the person staying with them won’t get to know the reason. Everything is going great in their lives but still they feel sleepless, don’t want to go to office, don’t like to talk much and many other things. In scientific terms, we call it ‘burnout’. But it can be cured if you give some time to it. There is one analogy which I strongly believe in : Our mind is like a dustbin and our thoughts are what we throw in the dustbin(our mind). Now suppose you throw some wet waste in the dustbin. The dustbin will not start smelling right then but after some time it will start to smell but by then you would have thrown some new waste as well which will cover the earlier waste. Now there is some wet waste which is the actual cause of smell but you are unable to see it because some new waste has covered that up. Now to remove that foul smell, you will throw the whole waste out and bam! you are smelling anything bad now. Similar thing happens with our mind. Some thought lies in our mind which is causing problem. We know that something is wrong but we don’t know what. So take out a paper and start writing whatever comes to your mind. You’ll end up writing that problem also which was causing the uneasiness in you and while writing there are very high chances you’ll write the solution as well on your own. #iampascalokeke #StreetWriter![DSC_6345.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmWLWhBL424pWZ3yBuQvEEsbGNbR7oxtAhbKgBgB4MGkHR/DSC_6345.JPG)
