This feeling hinders you from working and putting yourself in order. As a student, it is necessary and important that you're organized at all times. This leads to productivity and makes your life easier in the long run. Just imagine looking for something you need and finding it where you kept it without turning the house upside down, cool right? Below are tips you can follow to be on top of the happenings in your life and have an organized life. 1. Put Things in Their Place One of the most organized people are chefs, both in the kitchen and outside the kitchen. The reason they are organized is because they have a place for everything. They have a spot for everything and utensil they use. This helps them conserve space especially when they are in the kitchen, cooking. Take a clue from chefs, mark out spots for your belongings and important stuffs. This will help you find what you need easily when everything in your place has a home. 2. Regular Clean Up This is one of the best ways to remain organized; cleaning up. Create time (a few minutes) each day to pick up, clean up and declutter stuffs in your room that aren't where they should be. 3. Before Buying Something New, Donate or Throw Away Something Old Before buying something new, try throwing out or dashing out something old you don't use again. If you've got too much stuff in the room, try throwing out one old thing each day until you can not find anything else to throw away. This also helps in the sense that when you throw old stuffs away, the new stuffs you bring in easily gets a place they can be put in without you forcing or thinking where they'll fit in. 4. Unsubscribe from Unread Newsletters and Magazines Unsubscribe from a number of blogs and other newsletters if you do not read the emails from them. You probably do not need any of their content, anyway. And while you're at it, unsubscribe from unread magazines, catalogues and junk mail. They are just waste of money and space, especially if you do not read them. 5. Write Things Down Sometimes, it is quite difficult remembering things. To remember things more, put things down in writing on a book or maybe a digital notebook on your phone or PC. Writing important stuffs like your to-do, some important lists and information helps you remember them quickly even if you've a head injury ☺.

This feeling hinders you from working and putting yourself in order.\n\nAs a student, it is necessary and important that you're organized at all times. This leads to productivity and makes your life easier in the long run.\nJust imagine looking for something you need and finding it where you kept it without turning the house upside down, cool right?\n\nBelow are tips you can follow to be on top of the happenings in your life and have an organized life.\n\n1. Put Things in Their Place\n\nOne of the most organized people are chefs, both in the kitchen and outside the kitchen. The reason they are organized is because they have a place for everything. They have a spot for everything and utensil they use. This helps them conserve space especially when they are in the kitchen, cooking.\nTake a clue from chefs, mark out spots for your belongings and important stuffs. This will help you find what you need easily when everything in your place has a home.\n\n2. Regular Clean Up\n\nThis is one of the best ways to remain organized; cleaning up. Create time (a few minutes) each day to pick up, clean up and declutter stuffs in your room that aren't where they should be.\n\n3. Before Buying Something New, Donate or Throw Away Something Old\n\nBefore buying something new, try throwing out or dashing out something old you don't use again. If you've got too much stuff in the room, try throwing out one old thing each day until you can not find anything else to throw away. This also helps in the sense that when you throw old stuffs away, the new stuffs you bring in easily gets a place they can be put in without you forcing or thinking where they'll fit in.\n\n4. Unsubscribe from Unread Newsletters and Magazines\n\nUnsubscribe from a number of blogs and other newsletters if you do not read the emails from them. You probably do not need any of their content, anyway. And while you're at it, unsubscribe from unread magazines, catalogues and junk mail. They are just waste of money and space, especially if you do not read them.\n\n5. Write Things Down\n\nSometimes, it is quite difficult remembering things. To remember things more, put things down in writing on a book or maybe a digital notebook on your phone or PC.\nWriting important stuffs like your to-do, some important lists and information helps you remember them quickly even if you've a head injury ☺.",

To be successful and get a good paying job quickly, there are some important skills that you need to prepare yourself for the 'market'. Some of these skills include; - Be Focused While it is important to learn stuffs while in school, in many ways real life begins after graduation. This is when you begin to put your knowledge into use and manage your life and finance. Ask yourself, will there be a financial, career and personal success because of what they learned? Being focused helps you complete your set goals. It makes you level headed and ready to accomplish your dreams. - Learn complex thinking skills While in school, give yourself tasks you know/think would be given in a work environment. Getting and keeping a job in this modern era requires innovation, creativity, and the ability to look at a task and not only see the outcome, but also imagine different ways to achieve it. - Prepare for University and Career Although University is extremely important to many careers, it is not for everyone or every career. For that reason, you need to offer courses that will prepare you for wherever you are going in life. That means offering both University and career preparations. Furthermore, you need real life skills to be able to succeed in life. Skills like basic computer knowledge, balancing of checkbooks, communication and verbal skills are really important. - Well-rounded Education Get an education, a well-rounded one. There is no one magic formula to preparing yourself for tomorrow other than getting sound education. Attend good schools. If you can not attend a good school because of finance or some other reasons, try educating yourself in the little way you can. Source for materials, be well grounded in science, technology, engineering, math, history and communications courses. You'll have yourself to thank. There's no one way to being prepared for the future, you just have to garner knowledge (as much as you can). Be steadfast, prepare and the sky will be your limit.

To be able to compete favourably in these markets, there are important skills you should have as a student, job candidate and graduate. This skills will give you an advantage in the job search and most likely land you your preferred job. Below are some of the skill sets you should have during your stay in the University. 1. Writing Skill The need to be able to write at least a few paragraphs without error important. You do not have to be studying English language to need to learn how to write. Everything from your resume to office memos will be closely scrutinized for errors, so be sure you know how to communicate in written form. 2. Verbal communications In the professional world, there are certain informal statements that can put you in big trouble. The liberty you enjoy in the university when it comes to verbal communication isn't same in the corporate world.  Learning to say that something "needs improvement" or has "opportunity for growth" and other white collar lingo can keep you from looking like an amateur. Your verbal skills needs to be above average. 3. Job Experience A shiny academic career can make a good impression, but your future boss probably wouldn't want to be your first. Try getting a job, it doesn't really matter the type (as far as it is legal). Even if it is a minimum wage job, you will learn valuable skills you will need in a professional setting. Which brings us to: 4. Relevant Job Experience Yea, there is job experience and there is 'relevant' job experience. By relevant, we mean while studying, try getting job experience in the industry you would like to work in. Even unpaid internships can give you valuable experience as well as demonstrate how committed you are to your career. 5. Technology Be sure to utilize all the tech you can while you can. Try learning the basics of Microsoft Office, web designing, graphic designing etc. These are required just about everywhere. Having a knowledge of computer security, HTML, and other tech practices can truly help you stand out. 6. Research You've probably spent lots of time on Google and other sites looking up tons of stuff for school. These principles can help you in any job. The internet is there for the taking, use it to ease your researches. Even if it is just how to fix a broken printer, having the right research at the right time can help you stand out. 7. Public speaking You will have to do it eventually at some point in your career. Whether it is giving a presentation at work or being interviewed by a number of people, public speaking will come up more than you think it will, so grab this class or a related, such as debate or acting, to get the most out of your spare time. It is really important that you get this skill, it makes you able to face a crowd/gathering, instills confidence in you.

Yea, first impression matters. Imagine meeting some important people and your first impression is bad, it could haunt you for some time. People make judgement of other people all the time especially at the first meet. Even you, whenever you meet someone for the first time, you unconsciously come to conclusions on whether you like or dislike that person. The first impression you get from that person causes this and vice versa. The first impression you give out makes a person decide whether you can be trusted or not, or whether you deserve to be respected. A good first impression makes people want to spend more time with you. So you see, it's important that you make the right first impression always. So how do you make the right first impression? Engage in small talk When you meet a person for the first time, it is usually advisable that you engage in some small talk. This allows the person some time to have an opinion about you. Preparation This is important. Imagine you have a planned meeting for example an interview, it is a good idea to learn about the interviewer. This will help you be more relaxed and make the interview trust you more because you've taken out time to learn about him/her. It also shows that you're a serious and competent person. Body language The way you approach a person matters. If you're lackadaisical about the whole thing, it shows in your body language and this can send the wrong signals to the person you're meeting. Listen first, then speak Try to listen first, then speak. If you allow the other person to speak first, you show that you care about his or her thoughts and opinions. If you speak first it can be a sign of control, which can lead to mistrust. Listening allows you comport yourself, it gives you more confidence. If you do have to speak first, try to start with a question. Then listen. It is important you know how to make positive first time impressions especially if you're in the business world. There are many opportunities you can seize just by impressing on the minds of certain people. Learn these tips today, implement them so you can succeed.

Being an effective learner isn't about the speed you put in learning, this is not the only important factor. Being able to retain, remember and transfer are also very critical. So what can you do to become a better learner? Putting in a few of the tips listed in the article will set you on the right part. Learn And Practice New Things When you stop practicing your new skill, you most likely forget how to go about that skill after a while. This is because learning and practicing goes hand in hand. So if you're learning a new language, keep practicing the language in order to maintain the level of sophistication you have achieved in the use of that language. A process involving the brain known as "pruning" is the cause of this "forgetfulness". Here, functional pathways in the brain are maintained, while other are removed. To new information in your head, you just have to keep practicing and rehearsing it. Teach What You've Learned One of the best ways to learn something is to teach it to someone else. By teaching someone or a group of people, you would gain even more from the exercise. You can apply the same principle today by sharing your newly learned skills and knowledge with others. Translate the information you learn into your own words. This process helps solidify new knowledge in your brain. Find a way to share what you've learned. If you're shy about teaching, you could still put out what you've learned through other means. You could write a blog post, participate in a group discussion. or even create a podcast. Gain Practical Experience Learning to many students is reading textbooks, attending lectures, or doing research in the library and the web. Seeing information and writing it down is important, but putting new knowledge and skills into practice is one of the best ways to improve learning. Focus on gaining practical experience if you're trying to acquire a new skill. If it is a sport or athletic skill, perform the activity on a regular basis. If it is a new language you are learning, practice by speaking with another person. Strike up conversations with people who can speak that language to practice your budding skill. Look Up Answers Rather Than Struggle to Remember If you are struggling to remember some bits of information, research says you are better offer simply looking up the correct answer. According to a study, the longer you spend trying to remember the answer to something, the more likely you will be to forget the answer again in the future. Why? Because these attempts to remember previously learned information actually results in learning the "error state" instead of the correct response. Stop Multitasking Many people think that people who perform more than one activity at once, or multitask have an edge over those who do not. However, research suggests that multitasking can actually make your learning less effective. In a study, participants lost significant amounts of time as they switched between multiple tasks and lost even more time as the tasks became increasingly complex. By switching from one activity to another, you will react slowly and your learning process will be slow thereby making you become less efficient and liable make more errors. Focus your attention on the task at hand and continue working for a predetermined amount of time, this wat you can avoid the dangers of multitasking.

By switching from one activity to another, you will react slowly and your learning process will be slow thereby making you become less efficient and liable make more errors.\nFocus your attention on the task at hand and continue working for a predetermined amount of time, this wat you can avoid the dangers of multitasking.",

Times get tough. Except the days when you wake up on the right side of the bed. Days when you feel surprisingly good about yourself. One thing you should know is that your attitude is a direct reflection of what your thoughts are predominantly about. Many people believe the world treats them differently, that is why they are unhappy but the truth is happiness is a choice that anyone can make. So, do not think the world treats you differently, it is you who chooses to see the world differently. The best way to live life is to have a positive mindset, even when times are negative. Below are some positivity boosting tips to help you live life better. 1. Regular exercise Regular exercise has so many benefits it gives, not just the physical one you see in the mirror. Regular exercise has a way of increasing the levels of serotonin in your brain without the use of drugs according to studies. Serotonin is the chemical in your body which is responsible for maintaining your mood balance, therefore you see the need why you should increase your serotonin level? The higher your level of serotonin, the happier your days and more stable your moods. 2. Surround yourself with positivity Stress is contagious and the more you surround yourself with it, the more you're likely going to get your thoughts affected by it. Thankfully, studies has show that happiness too is contagious, therefore there is a choice to be made in which of these you want to be affected by. To maintain a positive disposition, try to surround yourself with people and things that will help your attitude flourish. Avoid negativity and negative people like a plague and make enough excuses to spend time with positive, optimistic people. 3. Eat good food Your body produces energy from the foods the consume. What you eat plays a crucial role in how much energy your body produces, which in turn affects your levels of mental energy and focus. Improving your diet can give you positive feelings, clearer thinking, calmer moods and more energy. A study found that a deficiency in a particular vitamin could cause a decline in mental health leading to stress, anxiety, depression, addictions and other psychological disorders. Eating a healthy balance of foods rich in vitamins, protein, minerals and fibres can help to increase the cognitive function of your brain, keeping you alert and even lifting your mood. 4. Think on positive things Try to build a positive mentality. The nature of the world we live in today means that our brains react much more intensely to bad news than they do to good news. Make a habit of spending a few minutes to reflect on those few, positive moments you encounter so as to be able to override this default setting. Keep a journal, record your perception of positive events, the changes you want to see in yourself and the changes you already notice. Review this regularly and tweak them if necessary. Gradually, you will find that you will learn to look for the good in situations, and slowly teach your brain to not get overly excited or sad -as the case may be- when presented with negative information. 5. Be grateful and positive To create a positive sense of well being, developing a grateful and thankful attitude and just surrounding yourself with positive influence is a scientifically backed way. This is under your control. Gratitude is one of the most effective ways to shift your focus away from the negative things in your life, towards the positive. Grateful people according to a study tend to appreciate the simple pleasures in life. Be grateful to sleep in a bed each night, for access to food, for the clothes and shelter you've got, for the opportunity that each day brings, for access to the sun that comes up each morning, for the customer service agent who greets you with a smile, for the people that love and care for you, and for a body that lets you experience life each day. Be grateful.

Writing important stuffs like your to-do, some important lists and information helps you remember them quickly even if you've a head injury ☺.

body![IMG_1274.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQVmAm374W5P5hMc1EF8JZcCfLPFw9ULYnU57Bnnjto7m/IMG_1274.jpg) The educational and job markets change steadily.

These are stuffs that you will be needing to ensure your day to day activities are smooth sailing. We've made a list of some of these items. 1. Tissue paper This is a must have. You'll need it for the loo. It runs out surprisingly quickly, so you need to stock on them especially if you are living with a roommate. 2. First aid kit Maybe not a complete set. Some plasters and paracetamol may just do. 3. Toiletries Some toothpastes, shampoos, bathing soaps, hair conditioners etc. 4. Toothbrush This is basic really. Toothbrushes are important if you want to avoid a smelly mouth. 5. Condom If you'll be sexually active in school, it is advisable that you get a condom. It is for your protection. 6. Towel For your drying your body after bath. 7. A laptop This is important for both studying and relaxation. 8. Memory drive This is for storing all your important files. Try to make sure your drive has a lot of space. A size 32g is advised. 9. Stationery Pens, books, highlighters, notepads, pencils, erasers etc. 10. Some New Clothes Yea, you are a fresher, try to look presentable if you can help it. 11. Paper bin Try getting one, it will save you the stress of going out to throw each paper. You could gather them up in the bin and take them all out at once. 12. Food Personal food. There are days if you have a roommate and you just do not feel like eating what has been prepared. You could just munch on the personal food you brought. 13. Desk lamp In case there's no electricity and you feel like reading or doing something that requires light. 14. Grooming kit For your manicures and pedicures. 15. Reading desk For your reading and writing purposes. 16. Bed If you school in Nigeria, you'll know you have to buy your foam when coming to school. Try getting one so you don't get 'uncomfortable' at night. 17. Cooking gas For cooking purposes. Self explanatory really ☺. 18. Kitchen Utensils Pots, spoons, plates, knives, cups etc. 19. Body lotion For after bath. Makes your skin look good 😉. 20. Hangers What's the point of a wardrobe with no hangers? Try getting some.

There are some professions that are renowned for high salaries. Professions like dentistry and medicine brings in good money. With the professionals earning around £47,000 within five years of leaving University. This is according to a new research of the institute of Fiscal Studies and BBC. Below are on an average, the 10 lowest paying degrees five years on. 1. Creative arts & design — £20,085 2. Agriculture & related subjects — £21,989 3. body![IMG_1853.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUEKTBjnYx9KBQaDyAMu42AyJJ929daGgH45wcEXRJs8D/IMG_1853.jpg) There are essentials you'll need when going to the University for the first time. Try getting some.

body![IMG_0774.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYSdXfdMKg9QiCGvViVx2FXU7xhgNXHhwqU913UjaWzKW/IMG_0774.jpg) Making new year resolutions is one thing, keeping them is an entirely different thing. Making resolutions is great, it makes you feel more motivated. You feel inspired to accomplish your set goals. It gives you some desire and renewed hope. Well, the truth (sad really) is that many new year resolutions do not make it past the first or second months of the year. To be able to keep your new year resolutions, here are some tips you can follow. 1. Set Intermediate goals Some people set big goals like saving half of their salaries. The point here is why don't you set a small target, say saving 10% of your salary and see how it goes from there. This is achievable and more realistic than the half you had in mind. It is good to have resolutions and goals, but set yourself up for success while at it. 2. Reward Yourself A little reward for achieving your goals wouldn't be a bad idea. Take yourself to see a movie or buy something for yourself. This can be the extra motivation you need to accomplish your goal. 3. Tools for success If you plan on eating healthier, buy the proper cooking tools to accomplish that. Make sure you have the right tools to succeed in your set goals. If you plan on jogging in the mornings, make sure you have your running shoes and running outfits. Whatever goal you set, make sure you have the tools to enable you accomplish them. 4. Schedule It doesn't matter if you are trying to exercise more or eat better, you will need to make time to accomplish your goals. The first step to success is to create a scheduler for your goals. Buy a great planner and carve out time for what you need to do.  If you are trying to eat healthy or cook at home more, schedule time on Sunday to plan your meals and shopping, so when you get home exhausted during the week all you will have to do is cook and not play the "What are we going to eat"? game. Be realistic about your time though and don't try to do too much all at once but commit 100% to what you schedule. 5. Get an app Paper planners are great but apps are even better. You know how powerful and useful technology can be. Find an app on your phone to keep you engaged and motivated. If you want to cook more use an app to help you in shopping. If your resolution is to run or exercise, find a app to track your workouts.
