Después, la vida fue lo suficientemente esplendida como para permitirme vivir ahí durante cuatro años, hoy regreso cada vez que puedo, aunque muchas menos de las que desearía. \n\nHace poco vi un video en el que hablaban de la historia de Puerto Vallarta. En él se relata como a principios del siglo XX la entonces ranchería de Las Peñas, era solo eso. Un asentamiento que ni si quiera podía considerarse como pueblo, habitado por unas pocas centenas de personas dedicadas a la pesca y a la agricultura. No pude dejar de sentir envida por todos ellos, pues tenían la dicha de disfrutar de un paraíso en su estado más puro. Playas, ríos, selva, solo para ellos, sin las vistas codiciosas de los que vendrían después. Me imaginaba como debe haber sido despertar y ver el resplandor del sol naciente iluminando desde las montañas al mar. Como debe haber sido escuchar nada más que el romper de las olas, el viento y el graznido matutino de las gaviotas. \n\n![portada_-1.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaymwh6qKcKVXf3d2tDSJR5A27MpdvHveC7zWFKhAAkGk/portada_-1.jpg)\n\n\nEn algún punto, las cosas cambiaron para la pequeña población. Como cambiamos nosotros, como cambian todas las comunidades. Al igual que pasa con las personas, algunas se desarrollan en una forma previsible, otras no. A Puerto Vallarta le pasó lo último. ¿Cómo habrá sido la vista de los primeros visitantes? Más que imaginarlo, casi puedo oler el aroma a mar de la escena. Veo los ojos y oigo las expresiones de fascinación, de esos que en ausencia de caminos pavimentados, andaban por horas, tal vez días para llegar a la desde siempre pintoresca población. Claro, los que hacían el viaje podrían tener todos los motivos menos el turismo. Eso, por lo menos aquí, no existía. No en la forma que ahora lo concebimos.\n\nNadie se hubiera imaginado que una pequeña villa pesquera, se convertiría en pocas décadas, en uno de los destinos turísticos más importantes de México y el mundo. Aunque sorprendente, el desarrollo de Vallarta no es sorpresivo. Desde siempre lo tuvo todo, solo necesitaba ser descubierto, mostrado, deseado, codiciado. Poco a poco, como el romper de las olas pule las piedras en la playa, la voz se fue esparciendo. Para cuando Las Peñas fue renombrado como Puerto Vallarta, las velas del barquito de ya habían sido izadas con viento a favor. \n\nQue si la noche de la iguana, que si Elizabeth Taylor, que si Richard Burton, que si un gobernador u otro, no lo sé. No se si hubo un quien, pero estoy convencido que hubo muchos porqués. Más allá de lo obvio esta lo realmente importante, lo que hace que un lugar favorecido por la naturaleza, pueda convertirse en un destino, la gente. Sí, muchas ciudades de Europa quisieran tener las playas de Vallarta, pero si las tuvieran, no tendrían el verdadero tesoro. Aquí te sientes vallartense desde que llegas, como no hacerlo, si todos te hacen sentir en casa. Y sentirse en casa, es lo que hace a un destino. ¿A donde irías una y otra vez, o mejor aun quedarte, sino en un lugar en el que te sientas en casa?\n\nHoy, desde casa, escribo sobre el lugar que me hizo sentir uno de los suyos. Para algunos, los que desfrutan de las posibilidades que Puerto Vallarta significa para su álbumes en redes sociales y poco más que eso, disfrutan de lo menos. La mayoría disfruta de hospedarse en cadenas internacionales, de la <a href=\"https://veico.com/renta-de-autos-en-puerto-vallarta/\">Renta de Autos en Puerto Vallarta</a> y las posibilidades para explorar más allá de lo habitual, saben gozar más. Pero los verdaderos ganadores, son los que llaman a esta sitio hogar.",
