| body |  A few months ago when I started Hal Elrod's The Miracle Morning routine, I had no idea that it's going to change the course of my entire life! There was a time when I was feeling stuck... not moving at all.... towards my dreams ...... my goals! One thing I had in my mind that if somehow I get myself to wake up early then everything would fall into place. Actually, I've been there before! I know how great it feels to wake up at 5! but for the past few months, I was quite on and off with this habit! Honestly speaking I even knew what I needed to do! I had all the tools in my hands! I was so inspired by all the testimonials from the people who have tried it and by of course Hal's personal the miracle morning story! This is it! This is it....... I felt! .png) By the time we settled in a new house, it was April! Gudhipadawa was around the corner. I'm Maharashtrian and on the occasion of Gudhipadawa, a Maharashtrian new year begins. So, I decided to begin my The Miracle Morning journey on 6th April 2019 as the beginning of my new life. <h2>Structure of The Miracle Morning routine </h2> [The Miracle Morning](https://www.miraclemorning.com/) routine consists of six practices. Hal calls it "SAVERS"! Believe me, these "SAVERS" can really save ones life and I'm not exaggerating! The six <b>SAVERS</b> stand for 1. Silence 2. Affirmations 3. Visualization 4. Exercise 5. Reading 6. Scribing I was doing a little bit of everything for the past few years but the way Hal combined these SAVERS together and converted them into The Miracle Morning routine definitely made a huge impact! .png) I'll write about each practice of SAVERS in detail in my upcoming posts. For now, I'll talk about the amazing results it gave me. <h3>1. My dream of waking up at 5 am came true! Again! </h3> As I said earlier, I've been there! I know how divine it feels! but I had lost that habit for the past couple of years. I did wake up at 5 am occasionally but never for days...months... in a row! The Miracle Morning made it a reality for me now. <h3>2. I cured my "Irregular Periods" syndrome!</h3> I'm calling it so because I ever really got myself tested because I wanted a solution not a confirmation of the problem I already knew I had on paper. As of now I just want to say that my periods come to visit me happily every month when there was a time when I didn't them for months and months! <h3>3. I started practising Brahmavidya(Mental Physics Exercises) daily! Another dream came true!</h3> I knew that Brahmavidya was a solution to all my problems. I've always had so much faith in it but when it came to practising it on a daily basis, I felt like a failure. So, I decided to go for Brahmavidya as E- exercise element of the SAVERS. I don't feel stuck anymore.</h3> Ever since I started The Miracle Morning, I'm feeling like I'm now moving towards my dream life. I feel at peace with my NOW. I don't feel impatient anymore. I'm happily moving towards my life goals. <h3>5. The Biggest result of all!</h3> Now, this one totally deserves a separate blog post. It's so huge that I just can't cover it in two lines. As of now, I'd say that I finally started losing extra pounds! What I intended when I started this blog and named it "Getting Fit With Cakes", is finally happening!  ......then came a bad patch! In the third month of The Miracle Morning, I struck a bad patch! I mean, there were days when I was finding it really difficult to wake up early even with "alarm out of reach" trick. I would get up, switch off the alarm and go to bed again. It went on for days. The reason was of course emotional. Life happened! Still, I somehow managed to do all the SAVERS through the rest of the day. I also practised the short version of The Miracle Morning occasionally. Still, I felt like something was missing but I let go of it knowing that I'd get back on track soon. I did get back on track when I regained my peace of mind or was it vice-versa? I have no idea! | body |  As you all know I started my [Rujuta Diwekar's Fitness Project](https://steemit.com/weight-loss/@harshada12/rujuta-diwekar-s-fitness-project-2018) from this Tuesday - 10th July 2018 as part of my Weekly Wonders. Actually, I was supposed to write about week 1 guideline of this fitness project on that day itself but I got caught up in a few things. Anyway, we all know how breakfast is very important for our physical well-being. A breakfast literally means breaking the fast that you've been on since your last meal of the day the previous night! But there's a little twist!<b> You becoming Fit or Fat completely depends on what you eat immediately within the 10-15 minutes after you wake up.</b> So it's something more important even than the breakfast and this week's RD Fitness Project Week 1 guideline is all about it! It's about eating within 10-15 min after you wake up is literally going to make or break your fitness journey. <h4>Why is it so important to eat something within 15 minutes of getting up?</h4> When we sleep, in the night our blood sugar levels drop. When we wake up in the morning, our liver stores are almost all used up. So, our blood sugar level is low and it's our responsibility that we bring this to bring this up to an optimum level. Low blood sugar is also a reason behind we feeling "low" in the morning. To make sure that the blood sugar levels don't drop beyond the limit, our body sometimes take to wasting or breaking our muscle down and you don't want that if you are trying to lose weight! To be able to burn fat effectively, we have to train our body to preserve lean tissue(muscles) and not waste it by breaking it down into glucose to keep our blood sugar up. What happens in the night is out of our control because we are sleeping but when we wake up everything is in our control. So, we must EAT to keep our fat burning tissue(muscle) alive. We must eat real food, something that will lead to a slow, steady increase in our blood sugar levels. This is where INSULIN comes into action! Insulin is secreted by our body as a response to an increase in blood sugar levels, which facilitates our hungry cells to get the nutrients that it is craving for. .jpg) <h4>Why we should not start our day with tea or coffee as the first thing in the morning?</h4> Any stimulant like tea or coffee which has caffeine in all varieties; with milk or without milk, with sugar or without sugar, white, green, purple, blue and cigarettes jolts the system out of slumber. It increases the blood pressure, heart rate, breathing rate and makes the body feel stressed and "Kicked"! We sadly mistake all this with feeling "Awake"! What really happens is, our body experiences stress because of the increase in its heart and breathing rate. So our body will respond by hampering fat burning. In the morning, the heart and breathing rates are at its lowest as this is the reflection of a relaxed state of mind and body. To keep our system relaxed we need to give it real food which is easy on heart, lungs and stomach too! The stimulants provided through tea or coffee increase the blood sugar levels but provide zero nutrition to the cells that have been starving for the last 9 to 10 hours or more, post-dinner. Moreover, the cuppa can mask our hunger, so we go hungry for a long time without realizing it. Going hungry in the morning is a disaster for someone who is dreaming of having a sexy body. All it does is create a huge calorie deficit in the morning and then our body has no other option but to overeat to later to make up for the deficit. All of us who just "don't feel like eating in the morning" are victims of slow metabolic rate and of a digestive system which is not functioning effectively. With sunrise the metabolism peaks and the cells demand nutrition. This is the time to eat and eat big. Those who are not used to eat something in the morning should start with a fruit. After that within an hour, have your breakfast. Anything that is healthy and fibre-rich. <b>Once our cells receive nutrition and the blood sugar comes to an optimum level then we can have our tea or coffee.</b> The breathing rate, heart rate will still increase but our first meal or breakfast will now act as a buffer. Buy fresh, local variety. <b>7-8 Soaked raisins with 1-2 strands of Kesar</b> - if you have rated yourself as a person with terrible PMS or with low energy through the day. <b>4-6 Soaked & peeled almonds</b> - if you have insulin resistance, diabetes, PCOD* or low fertility or poor sleep quality. Pick the mamra or the local variety of badam, its richer in nutrients. For PCOD - Switch to 7-8 raisins and 1-2 strands of Kesar 10 days before periods. Rujuta Diwekar started this fitness project in Jan 2018. there were more than 75000 signups from across the globe for this fitness project. unfortunately, I wasn't that active on Facebook at that time and I missed it. I got to know about this project way later after it was over. I got a little disappointed that I couldn't participate in it. Then I thought what the hell! I can start anywhere and anytime. <h3>Why am I doing this?</h3> It was [Rujuta Diwekar](https://www.rujutadiwekar.com/) who changed my attitude towards my own traditional food. I started learning about the ways to love food and stop being fearful about it. She made the whole food world and exercise world really simple for me and millions like me where it was really complicated or in simple words a pain in the a**! She made us realize that a healthy lifestyle is a series of healthy and simple habits and I'm very happy that I'll now get to develop such healthy habits with the help of this Rujuta Diwekar's Fitness Project. As I said in my previous [post](https://www.facebook.com/notes/rujuta-diwekar/the-fitness-project-2018/2212426088797541/), this project is allowing me to take baby steps and make peace with where I am right now and also make peace with my body! It feels like a new beginning for me! <h3>What Rujuta Diwekar's Fitness project is about?</h3> This project is about following healthy and simple 12 guidelines for up to 12 weeks. These guidelines are nothing but healthy habits we need to inculcate in our day to day life. It's for anyone, anywhere who is sincere about his/her health and willing to make a commitment to a healthy lifestyle. <h3>Structure of Rujuta Diwekar's Fitness Project 2018</h3> As I mentioned in my earlier post- ["Weekly Wonders"](https://www.facebook.com/notes/rujuta-diwekar/the-fitness-project-2018/2212426088797541/) concept is inspired by Rujuta Diwekar's Fitness Project. There is a new guideline for every week and we need to carry each week's guideline for next week. For example, Week 2= Week 1 + Week 2 and Week 3 = Week 1+2+3 and so on. There was a weekly google form to fill up for the people who participated in the project to track their weekly progress. At the end of each month, the participants were supposed to rate their progress on the health parameters such as energy levels, sleep quality, acidity/Indigestion, sweet cravings, exercise compliance and PMS/Period pain etc. At the end of 3 months, Rujuta Diwekar's team was going to check the collective progress of the participants. <h3>Here are the 12 Guidelines</h3> 1. Start your day with a Banana or any fresh fruit OR soaked almonds OR soaked raisins and NOT with tea or coffee. 2. Eat ghee. Without fear, without guilt, without a doubt. 3. Rethink, reform and regulate the use of gadgets in your life. 4. Eat a wholesome meal between 4-6 pm in the evening. 5. Move more, sit less. 6. Start with at least one session of strength training every week. 7. Eat dal rice for dinner. 8. Use the mental meal map as a tool to help you eat the right quantity. 9. Practice Suryanamaskar daily 10. Have sherbets and other traditional summer drinks through the day. 11. Top 3 Kitchen rules for wholesome health - 1.Reduce plastic 2.Bring back the iron kadhai 3.Heat, don’t microwave 12. Bring back these 3 fats in your daily diet - 1.Tadka in kacchi ghani oils 2.Coconut as garnishing, chutney, etc. 3.Cashews as mid-meal or with milk before sleeping <h3>What do I expect for myself by the end of three months?</h3> Now I wouldn't lie by saying that I don't want to see any difference in my weight immediately. I do expect a loss of inches as I have read that many people have achieved it with this fitness project and it's really inspiring! but after running behind the number on scale for years and having learned lessons the hard way, I 've come to a point where I feel that at the end of three months, I want to feel energetic ,I want a healthy- glowing skin, healthy hair, I want to walk faster, I want to dance beautifully, I want to be able to play badminton amazingly, I want to be able to shop for clothes with ease! | body |  "Weekly Wonders" is a series of good habits I'll be developing for myself every week. <h4>Why Weekly Wonders?</h4> I once watched [Abraham-Hicks's](http://gettingfitwithcakes.com/) video [Think and Get Slim!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YSGfEgsgPA&t=983s) Where they talk about this process of "releasing resistance to become debt free"(which is one of their 22 Processes by the way) in terms of weight loss. The basic concept of the process is taking baby steps towards your big goals. It's about doing the thing which is easily possible for you in your NOW! .jpg) Abraham-Hicks always talk about raising your vibration before taking action. For example, suppose if something is bothering us in our life then we take away our attention completely off that subject and focus on something else then that problem is more likely to solve itself because we are no longer focusing on it with our negative attention or after a while we'll get inspired by the solution of that particular problem. But when it comes to the problems with our physical body it's really difficult to not to give it our attention as our body is with us all the time. So, in such a situation they suggested taking action to raise our vibration through this particular process. In this process, you take a paper and draw several columns on it. In your far left-hand column, you write your biggest goal! Let's say its "I want to lose 30 kgs". So, you want to lose 30 kgs but it's not possible for you to do today and right now it seems like a big, unreachable, scary thing. The next big goal is "I want to be able to walk 5 miles at a brisk pace easily and hardly feel anything except exhilaration". Put that in the second column and so on. It's like moving from the hardest things you want to do towards the easiest thing you can do now with your physical body and start with all the easy things you can do right now. For example, losing 30 kgs is my big goal but losing 30 kgs today is not possible or even in a couple of months or a year or 2 years! but starting a "Drinking plenty of water every day" habit is easily possible for me right now. Also, if my next big goal is dancing on stage at my best friends wedding, for which, if I'm being honest, not ready at all both emotionally and physically right now but I can start dancing for few mins every day! Yah, that I can do easily right now! So here, I'll be raising my vibration because of the satisfaction I'll be getting from checking the things I can do NOW off my list. It's about doing my best to get myself in balance by keeping my commitment with myself. It all makes sense when we realize that we have to carve our own path as we are not living someone else's life. As only WE know where we are in our weight loss journey and what we can do easily NOW. Physical Exercise <b>Rujuta Diwekar's Fitness Project 2018</b> This was a Fitness Project started by [Rujuta Diwekar](https://www.rujutadiwekar.com/) on [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/rujuta.diwekar/) back in Jan 2018. Unfortunately, I missed it at that time but its better late than never. So this project was about following fitness guidelines every week for up to 12 weeks/3months to form a healthy lifestyle. I'll write about it in detail in my upcoming posts. <b>Games of Alignment</b> In this category, I'll be taking baby steps to develop a loving relationship with MYSELF. It will include Abraham-Hicks's processes to release the resistance I have, Self-love practices and more. More in detail in my upcoming posts. <b>Exercise</b> In this, I'll be developing exercise habits which I can do NOW with ease and fun. More in detail in my next posts. <h4>Structure of Weekly Wonders</h4> The structure of weekly wonders is inspired from Rujuta Diwekar's Fitness Projects 2018. So, every week I'll take 1 or 2 habits from 1 or 2 categories and carry each week's habit to next week. For example, Week 2 = Week 1 habit(s) + Week 2 habit(s) Week 3 = Week 1 habit(s) + Week 2 habit(s) + Week 3 habit(s) and so on.  When I came up with this whole weekly wonders concept, it immediately gave me relief. "Weekly wonders" is allowing me to do exactly what I wanted for so long. It's allowing me to take baby steps, it's allowing me to make peace with my NOW and look forward with ease. It's allowing me to make peace with my body, with myself, with my life, with where I am NOW in my life. More importantly its allowing me to enjoy the JOURNEY. Stay tuned! Thank you for stopping by! "body": "\n\n\"Weekly Wonders\" is a series of good habits I'll be developing for myself every week.\n\n<h4>Why Weekly Wonders?</h4>\n\nI once watched [Abraham-Hicks's](http://gettingfitwithcakes.com/) video [Think and Get Slim!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YSGfEgsgPA&t=983s) Where they talk about this process of \"releasing resistance to become debt free\"(which is one of their 22 Processes by the way) in terms of weight loss.\n\nThe basic concept of the process is taking baby steps towards your big goals. It's about doing the thing which is easily possible for you in your NOW! \n\n.jpg)\n\nAbraham-Hicks always talk about raising your vibration before taking action. For example, suppose if something is bothering us in our life then we take away our attention completely off that subject and focus on something else then that problem is more likely to solve itself because we are no longer focusing on it with our negative attention or after a while we'll get inspired by the solution of that particular problem.\n\nBut when it comes to the problems with our physical body it's really difficult to not to give it our attention as our body is with us all the time. So, in such a situation they suggested taking action to raise our vibration through this particular process.\n\nIn this process, you take a paper and draw several columns on it. In your far left-hand column, you write your biggest goal! Let's say its \"I want to lose 30 kgs\". So, you want to lose 30 kgs but it's not possible for you to do today and right now it seems like a big, unreachable, scary thing. The next big goal is \"I want to be able to walk 5 miles at a brisk pace easily and hardly feel anything except exhilaration\". Put that in the second column and so on.\n\nIt's like moving from the hardest things you want to do towards the easiest thing you can do now with your physical body and start with all the easy things you can do right now.\n\nFor example, losing 30 kgs is my big goal but losing 30 kgs today is not possible or even in a couple of months or a year or 2 years! but starting a \"Drinking plenty of water every day\" habit is easily possible for me right now. Also, if my next big goal is dancing on stage at my best friends wedding, for which, if I'm being honest, not ready at all both emotionally and physically right now but I can start dancing for few mins every day! Yah, that I can do easily right now!\n\nSo here, I'll be raising my vibration because of the satisfaction I'll be getting from checking the things I can do NOW off my list. It's about doing my best to get myself in balance by keeping my commitment with myself.\n\nIt all makes sense when we realize that we have to carve our own path as we are not living someone else's life. As only WE know where we are in our weight loss journey and what we can do easily NOW.
