The news was announced by Alireza Daliri, the Directorate’s deputy for management and investment affairs. He told the ISNA news agency that a large number of homegrown Iranian tech companies had the skills to develop a digital currency. However, he emphasized that, “they would still have to work on removing pre-launch flaws.”\n\nDaliri added that these companies were developing the project in cooperation with the Central Bank of Iran (CBI). “We are trying to prepare the grounds to use a domestic digital currency in the country. This currency would facilitate the transfer of money [to and from] anywhere in the world. During the discussion, he spoke about the underlying asset value of XRP, the token’s use-case, few of his favorite recently made investments for Arrington’s XRP Capital and more.\n\nNeu-Ner began by asking about ‘why he started a fund denominated in XRP’. The fund-manager responded by explaining how XRP is an excellent means of moving money across borders. Arrington also admitted that there are many in the cryptocurrency space who discredit XRP through a driven misconception of the token being centralized. In his words:\n\n“Ripple, or in this case XRP, the actual currency is a really, really good way to move money. We denominate our fund in XRP because it is a fantastic way to move money across borders quickly and at almost zero cost. So there is a lot of tribalism in cryptocurrency, and a lot of Bitcoin maximalists… The one thing they all agree on is that all of them hate XRP because it is centralized, they think it is corporate-managed.”\n\nHe also added that XRP can fulfill a great amount of purpose in the space, while other decentralized cryptocurrencies are working their way towards gaining more efficiency. Thus, from a hedge-fund point of view, it is suitable to denominate in XRP.\n\nThe conversation led to ‘the risks of denominating in XRP’, given that the market endures much fluctuation. According to Arrington, the key to these investments is the underlying value of the asset. He also revealed that only a narrow percentage of his company’s fund is holding XRP, the rest being vastly diversified. A rough figure of 3-4% or ‘a few million dollars’ worth of XRP was quoted to have been sitting in the fund currently.\n\nNext, Neu-Ner fetched Arrington’s response to the fund’s ‘cash position’. The investor explained by citing the proportions of various currencies and assets in his fund. He stated:\n\n“Let’s say there’s a hedge-fund in Tokyo, if they hold in dollars, isn’t that also a cash position? It’s really hard to know. We hold a lot of Bitcoin; we hold more Bitcoin than anything else. We hold a lot of Ether, we’ve a lot of USD. Occasionally, we hold Tether overnight. So, I don’t know which ones are the cash positions. They’re all either currencies or have different utilities.”\n\nOut of all the investments, Arrington’s XRP Capital is known to be the most enthusiastic about Mainframe, a UK based blockchain startup. About Mainframe, the investor added:\n\n“…it’s a fantastic company, they’re actually helping to spread freedom. And like in a real way not just like in a clichéd way. Real excited about them, they’re making a lot of money, and that’s really good.”\n\nOn the Asian front, South Korea has been the focus with investments such as Metadium, Phantom, Aergo, among others. Arrington also notified and appreciated the increasingly innovative and entrepreneurial activities taking place in South Korea.\n\nWith regards to investments in decentralized applications [dApps], exchanges and suchlike, Arrington’s XRP Capital is involved in quite a few of them and might see a lot of compelling applications come out by the next year.\n\nLastly, Neu-Ner asked a final question to seek a general opinion on Bitcoin’s performance in the upcoming months. To this, Arrington replied:\n\n“My entire life has been in cryptocurrency, we’re on bullish on it. But I’m always an optimist, right? I think we’re still gonna hit $25,000 this year easy and I sure hope we’re at a low right now.”\n\nBoth the crypto-experts agreed on the speculation and stated ETF as the possible reason for the future success of Bitcoin. Montroll, a 37-year-old from Texas which was arrested by the FBI for trying to cover up massive client losses after his exchange was hacked, pleaded guilty to one count of securities fraud and one count of obstruction of justice on Monday. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. Montroll operated two bitcoin services, Weexchange which functioned as a bitcoin depository and currency exchange service, and Bitfunder which facilitated the purchase and trading of shares of businesses that listed on the platform. During the summer of 2013, hackers stole approximately 6,000 bitcoins from Weexchange, and, as a result, the two ventures lacked the bitcoin necessary to cover what was owed to users, which he tried to hide.\n\nManhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said: “Montroll deceived his investors and then attempted to deceive the SEC. He repeatedly lied during sworn testimony and misled SEC staff to avoid taking responsibility for the loss of thousands of his customers’ bitcoins.”\n\n                                              Scammer Fined Over $1.9 Million\nA federal court has ordered Dillon Michael Dean of Colorado, and his UK-registered company The Entrepreneurs Headquarters Limited (TEH), to pay over $1.9 million in civil monetary penalties and restitution. A judge found that Dean engaged in a fraudulent scheme to solicit bitcoin from the public, lied that customers’ funds would be invested in products including binary options, and misappropriated clients’ funds. He also failed to register with the CFTC as a Commodity Pool Operator.\n\nAccording to the findings, from approximately April 2017 to January 18, 2018, Dean solicited at least $499,264.04 worth of bitcoin from at least 127 members of the public. He promised to convert this into fiat and invest it on customers’ behalf in a pooled investment, including trading binary options on an online exchange. He lured victims by false claims of trading expertise and promises of high returns in Youtube videos and Facebook posts. The warning to the public explained that in recent weeks there have been a number of complaints about ransom demands via e-mail. The messages said that the recipient’s computer had malware installed, which activated the camera to film when vising a site displaying sexual content. In order to avoid the distribution of the allegedly filmed videos to all his contacts, the recipient was required to pay a ransom in bitcoin. The message included the recipient’s e-mail and password to give it credibility. On successful completion of this course, participants will understand how to detect, seize and investigate the use of cryptocurrencies in an investigative context. If the price doesn’t rise and say moves down in the opposite direction by 10 percent, your loss is still limited to your initial margin. There are also different types of trading processes as well you can select after choosing the desired price and quantity. Some exchanges offer limit orders and stop order approaches to leverage trading. ‘Stop orders’ are the exact opposite of ‘limit orders’ which means the price must end up lower for a ‘stop sell’ order or climb higher for a ‘stop buy’ order. A ‘market order’ is the fastest way to start trading as it will use the best prices in the books to initiate a trade. Getting familiar with each type of trade will improve your margin trading skills immensely.\n\nIn addition to limit, market and stop orders, there’s also a process called a ‘stop-limit’ which acts as a safety net and you can place a ‘stop-limit’ order by setting the ‘stop price’ to a predetermined amount. This means it will sell before the price goes lower than the specified price trajectory. Leverage trading is far riskier than traditional trades but the reward can be much higher as well. The reason for this is because leverage allows you to pay a fraction of the price for a full price trade, allowing individuals to enter much larger trading positions. Many of the trading platforms listed above also offer leverage options for a variety of other digital assets. The best thing to do is practice your leveraged trades with only a small fraction of coin and some small leverage. On June 22, the FSA issued business improvement orders to Bitflyer, Bitpoint Japan, Bitbank, Btc Box, Quoine and Tech Bureau.\n\nComplying with the orders, each of the six companies confirmed that they have submitted a written business improvement plan to the agency on Monday, July 23.\n\nBitflyer was ordered to improve in ten areas, Btc Box nine, Bitbank eight, and Quoine seven. Both Bitpoint and Tech Bureau were ordered to improve in six areas. Just days ago, the Court upheld the central bank’s decision, suggesting a definitive ruling on the issue will come this fall.   \n\nWorkarounds\nAs a measure to mitigate against drawing further ire from officials, exchanges such as Unocoin have tried to find workarounds.
