      "body": "Hey all...\nI just want to commend this kid for an outstanding achievement.\n\nHis name is Liam Christopher Titus and he was born on 24/03/ 2006\n\nI illegally adopted him from his mom at the age of almost 2yrs. He was born 5 years after his mom and I divorced.\n\nHe was displaced so many times because of her instability.  Anyway I formed a bond with him and along with my daughter Chelsea we lived on our own without any support from anyone, family included. Of course there was interest shown here and there but nothing more. Long story short after countless fights and threats between his mom and I she decided to take him from me last year and  oved him to another schoo, far away. I thought that maybe it would be good for him to be with is mom finally so that they could forge a relationship.  As sad as it was I had to let go of him and in a way it forced her to become a mother. Our daughter chelsea had also been raised by me for most of her young life. Needless to say its quite hard for a guy to raise a teenage girl. But we did it by GOds Grace.\n\nHe had been satying with his mom for just about 2 weeks when she suffered a massive stroke and died. He wsa once again displaced and his aunt offered to take him and raise him. We agreed and he had no choice but to go and live with them. Another sad moment for me but I had to let it be. More issues arose as he had severe learning and concentration problems. His new family made all the effort and along with my support we worked hard to give hi stability. He is quite an avid footballer and I had to priviledge of coaching him at our local club Strandfontein Football Club...fondly known as The Seagulls as we live about 5 mins from the coast.\n\nNonetheless he has come a long way since. He has passed to Grade 5 and is doing excellently.\nI will be seeing much more of him now as its the holiday season and school is closed.\n\nHe turns 12 in 2018. He couldnt make me prouder to be called his dad.       "body": "If you had a Dad like mine you would surely understand what I am going through.\n\nWe never really spoke much, except about Sport, music and Movies but he surely had a great presence.\nNot one to judge or ridicule or even argue....That was moms job. And she did it really well.\n\nBut dad was something else, everyone loved him, fondly known as old Tom, Mr T, or just plain Tommy.\nHe loved fish, especially Snoek (Baracuda)...........He got the nickname Tommy 7`s on account of him finishing 7 medium sized fish in one day.\n\nAlways had a smile on his face, never argued or disagreed with anyone. He would just walk away if confronted. Dont get me wrong, he was no walk over at all. A gentle giant if you will. An unseen Warrior. sadly he succumbed to Cancer within 10 months of his 80th Birthday and sadly passed on. \n\nHe had a great love for Comics, Marvel, DC and some others too. Spiderman and Conan were his favourite.\n\nMovies - Lord of the Rings, Avatar, anything to do with Super Heroes and Colourful Villians. \n\nMusic - Johnny Mathis was his all time favourite, among others, Nat King Cole, Sergio Mendes, Carly Simon, Dionne Warwick, Barbara Streisand to name but a few.\n\nChristmas time was by far the best to be around him, There he would be decorating the Christmas tree or cleaning up the garden all the while Johnny Mathis voice could be heard while he enjoyed an ice cold one or a double portion of Brandy or Whiskey........with ice. All the neighbours loved him. He walked everywhere, greeted everyone with a smile and a nod and always stopped for a quick chat.\n\nHow I miss him. His end was most dignified, quiet and content, he never complained of pain or discomfort at all.\nHe just lay there and waited anxiously for me to come and massage his legs and calf muscles that had been reduced to nothing more than skin and bone. Then he slept like a baby. \n\nWe had to wash him 3 times a day just to ensure that he did not develop any bedsores or infections. Other than that no complaints. He needed nothing more than peace and quiet around him and soft light.\nHe passed away on the day that I decided to go back to work. The news came at 13.30pm and even though we had expected it to be much sooner, it still hit me like a ton of bricks. \n\nHe had finally gone home. We laid him to rest a day before his 80th birthday on the 05 May 2013.\n\nI realise now how much I could have done with him while he was alive. The time we could have spent. The conversations we never had, but should have. I saw him cry only once in my life. When I moved out with my daughter Chelsea and heard  that he cried bitterly when my sister Michelle passed away after being knocked down by a bus just outside  our family home in Bridgetown, Cape Town. She was only 6 yrs old. He wore her beanie for the rest of his life. \n\nMy mom suffers from Parkinsons and Diabetes but she still is the anchor in our family.       "body": "Hey all..........So its getting more difficult to find sustainable income these days.\nLanding a good job at almost 50 is near impossible in this country. What am I to do? I am an Estate Agent ..........which takes forever to get paid. I am a movie extra with not nearly enough parts to play. I connect so many people with various skills who get employment through my connections but theres nothing for me. Do I just sit back and wait for something to fall into my lap? But being the breadwinner who cannot support like he used to I feel quite down these days. Why does everything take so long to work out?\n\nThis video really got to me.
