title5 heartbreaking reasons why educated people are poor
bodyWhen I look into the society of ours today, I wonder where the glory and joy of "Working hard, and get a good job" has gone. Why are so many certificated educated people poor even after so many degrees, they still live on loans and cooperatives. Where has the dream of financial liberation that the educational system promised gone to? ![people-844212__480.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmU7EEWCkdW6RxxHaixaGNZjZs6yEdpxMdhH9xbT3pUgy5/people-844212__480.jpg) These are questions that linger in my mind, which made me took action on finding the cause and probably the solution. Let's dive into some of the reasons why most of the certificated people are finding it hard to live the life of luxury they crave for: 1. Lack of financial education. Many educated and gainfully employed people are poor today because they lack financial education, basically the plan is to learn, get a certificate, apply for a good job, and save against retirement. You might be vast and very skilled in your field of expertise, you might have acquired a reasonable number of degrees and certificates and a high paying job, and still know nothing about money, that's because financial education isn't taught in school, and only few people manage to acquire it. Our educational system isn't designed to equip us with that knowledge, therefore people that acquire it do so outside of the school curriculum. What then is the way out? Get financial education by reading books like Rich dad_poor dad, listen to audio books or enroll in programs that aim to teach financial education. 2. Many people end their education in school Bill Gates once said "Learning doesn't end in the walls of the classroom, it's a lifetime course". Many believe that education is the degree and certificate they got from school, the truth is that education is far more than that. Education is what you get through out your life, its like food and necessary as water, it's what you should get everyday. Many people don't believe this, they feel they don't need that hard work, if you are one of them, then forget about being financially liberated because like Warren Buffet noted this is the information age, information is power. Unfortunately, information gets outdated so if you are not up to date about what's going on in this society in which competition increases everyday, and you don't take your time to learn new things, you are not likely to come across knowledge necessary to create wealth. Start seeing it as food, it is what you should take everyday of you life. 3. They lack skills needed to create wealth In school, we are taught how to be an employee, we are taught specialization, how to work alone. If we look at the society today, those that are hitting milestone don't do it singlehandedly, they do it with the help of others. People who stick with what they learn in school lack basic survival and manipulative skills needed to thrive in times of hardship, they depend on jobs, all they seek is to be gainfully employed, this way wealth can't be created and what it results to is complain just like we have in our society today. 4.They keep buying liabilities. Since many educated people lack financial education, they buy every new thing in the market, they mismanage money, they buy liabilities, things that increases their expenses day by day, and at the end of the day they end up in debt. If you are asking what I mean by liability, according to Robert Kiyosaki, a liability is something that you buy and it keeps taking away your money, while an asset is something you buy and it ends up creating income for you. If you want to create a positive cashflow and create wealth, stop wasting money on things you don't really need, use that money to buy assets that will create another source of income for you. 5.Job insecurity An employee's job depends on the decision of others while entrepreneurs are in control of their jobs. Many graduates spend years doing temporary jobs that can hardly take care of their expenses before being gainfully employed, this constitute more reason why many are unable to break free of their financial problems. At times, when unexpected disaster and situation happens, employed people lose their jobs, and in order to take care of expenses they go into debt which sometimes takes years before they can recover from it. FINAL WORDS These are few ideas on some of the reasons why some educated people are poor. Feel free to add your own ideas.

title7 Intelligent tips on how to overcome limits and achieve success in life
bodyAchieving success in life is all about overcoming limits, limits are hindrances to progress. A limit is a point or level beyond which something may not pass. In its real sense, limit is a product of fear, bad experiences or mindset.
![limit-4174032__340.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmT89ra6sy4jzZWUDDGG8fdX3M9RRTRSrbFyKxken8BrVX/limit-4174032__340.jpg) We are constantly faced with limitations in various aspects of our life, aspects including relationships, academics, work life, spiritual life etc,and with these,if we don't overcome limitations we can't progress.
Limits can be internal or external. The internal limits we face are the ones we impose on ourselves, they are the self limiting beliefs we have picked up from the society and we have control over them, while external limits are the ones we encounter outside, we don't have control over them, they are as a result of the imperfections in this world. With all that have been said, let's dive into some of the causes of limits and ways we can overcome them.

Beliefs
A belief is a strong feeling that something exists or true. There are conscious and unconscious beliefs, both impacts our lives either positively or negatively and it's important we are careful about the things we choose to believe in. Our beliefs influence the decisions we make, they inspire our actions, they reflect in things we do. Self-limiting beliefs are usually negative things we believe in that causes us to believe we can't achieve something, they are product of our own fear, they are limits we should learn to overcome by rapidly improving ourselves. What we believe in is who we are, identifying what our self-limiting beliefs are, maintaining a positive state of mind and believing that you are capable of achieving whatever it is that you put your heart to is one way you can overcome your limit. Stop letting your fear take control of you and your decisions, start believing from today that you can achieve anything, believe that you have the capacity that you can achieve anything you want because in reality you have the capacity, you can be anything you want if you believe.

Man often becomes what he believes himself to be.If I keep saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I shall have the belief that I can do it,I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it, even if I may not have it at the beginning. -Mahatma Gandhi

Shake of your fear
It might be fear of failing, fear of failure, you might be a shy person, someone is influenced by the opinion of others, or probably someone who lacks the courage to get started. Hear this, people will always talk, you can't have everyone on your side, you are unique, you own your dream and maybe only you understands it,when you learn to overcome your fears, you will gain courage needed to overcome your limits. Pursue your dreams with passion, remember why you started, let that reason motivate you, if you are the shy type, or you lack courage, build a network of people with like-mind, build a network of people that you share same ambition, that way you will find motivation to press harder, you will gain courage and confidence to overcome your limits.
Be determined

Determination gives you the resolve to keep going in spite of the roadblocks that lay before you - Denis Waitley
Determination is the fuel on the journey to success. Pursuit of success is a journey, just like travelling in a car you need a fuel, you need determination. Life has its up's and down's and it doesn't matter how many times you fail, strong determination will keep you going, when you are determined, you will overcome your limits.
Find a purpose to what you are doing
Without a purpose, you might just keep speculating around ,when you don't have a purpose there can't be an aim. In what you doing, find a purpose to it, with purpose you will find passion, the passion will drive your determination to overcome limits. If you have a strong purpose in life, you don't have to be pushed, your passion will drive you to overcome limits.
He who has a why to live for can bear almost anyhow - Friedrich Nietzsche

Persevere
This is the quality of continuing to try to achieve a particular aim in spite of difficulties. It is the ability to continue to test limits without giving up. Don't give up trying, learn and develop more, gain more knowledge about what you are doing, that way you learn to overcome limits.
Facing it, always facing it, that’s the way to get through. Face it. – Conrad Joseph

Don't be afraid of failing
Albert Einstein said "Failure is success in progress". Many people dread failure because fundamentally, we are thought failure is bad, we are criticized and punished for failing for failing when in reality it is essential to success because every failure has a lesson in it,many people don't see the lesson, they see the negative part of it_regret. Failure is like a spring balance, when you fall on it, it catapult you to heights greater than you were, failure makes you stronger because they are experiences and experiences are the best teachers When asked, Thomas Edison said "I have not failed, I've just found a thousand ways that won't work"
Move out of your comfort zone
Wikipedia defines comfort zone as a psychological state in which things feel familiar to a person and they are at ease and (perceive they are) in control of their environment, experiencing low levels of anxiety. In this zone, a steady level of performance is possible, this level of performance causes people to be limited in capacity, if you want to overcome limit, you can't do that in your comfort zone, you have to leave your comfort zone and be ready to sacrifice your time and work hard that way you can overcome limit.
If you’re ready to stop living a limit-based life, you have to decide that your dreams are more important than your temporary limits. Make the decision today to overcome limits and start existing as the most joyful, successful version of yourself possible.

permlink3-things-to-focus-on-if-you-really-want-to-be-successful
title3 things to focus on if you really want to be successful.
bodyBeing successful is what every human being desire, because we want the benefits that comes with success. We are inspired by stories of men and women that have hit landmark in their career and we want to be like them. However, the 'behind the scene' work done by these people , the price paid by them is what most of us don't talk about.
![success.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUQ3A6BKTWueXFpV88ivzLqMtq626aGgTXnP2fS4aYhpV/success.jpg)
Success is built, its not stumbled upon or gotten by luck. It takes years of hardwork, diligence, perseverance to reach that landmark. Lots of books on success have been written, and lots of courses have been designed to teach people on how to be successful. However the aim of this post is to provide insight on some aspects of your life you should develop, if you really want to be successful. Three things to focus on, if you want to be successful include :

Relationships
Human being is wired to be social, no man can successfully live alone. In our lives its important to keep a good and healthy relationship with people, as this goes a long way, its part of the determinant of our success. In his video What makes a good life Robert_Waldinger shared with us the results on the long term study of people some keep good relationships, others don't. At the end of the study, people who keep good relationships end up being happier and more successful, while those who doesn't keep good relationships are less happier and less successful. When you keep good relationship, you will have a great team and also when you are in need, you will have people to turn to. Even though its hard to maintain, here are some tips on how to maintain a good relationship. I won't explain these but I will write another post on how to maintain good relationships.

Learn to forgive.

Care about people - call them to ask about welfare, be concerned about their welfare.

Spend time with people.

Be kind.

 Attitude
The business dictionary defines attitude as "a predisposition or a tendency to respond positively or negatively towards a certain idea, object, person or situation". It says attitude influences an individual's choice of action and responses to challenges, incentives and rewards.
Attitude are dispositions, they are the way we react to situations, maintaining the positive attitude towards situations and challenges is important. Being positive is an attitude, and its important where success is desired, its gives you power to overcome challenges, to cross limits, to achieve success.
"Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts becomes your words. Keep you words positive, because your behaviour becomes your habits. Keeps your habits positive because your habits becomes your values. Keep your values positive, because your values becomes your destiny" - Mahatma Gandhi

Education
There can't be any success without education (either formal or informal) . Formal education is the type we get in school, informal is outside of school. Education is a prerequisite to success, there can't be success without work, through education we learn to develop skill necessary to make our dreams comes true. If you want to be successful, invest heavily in yourself, be it by taking courses, reading books, attending seminars etc, just keep learning.
"The best investment you can make is to invest in yourself" - Warren Buffet

Knowledge can become obsolete, which is why learning should not stop, you improve on what you know, being successful entails being able to accomplish tasks, to test and overcome limits. The more you improve on your knowledge, and the more skillful you become, your problem solving abilities also improve.

CONCLUSION
Success is a very popular topic among people. These ideas are meant to be an advice to the readers, feel free to add your own ideas. I hope you love it.

titleBusy vs Effective: 6 practical ways to start being effective, not just busy
bodyLooking for ways to start being effective? First rule: Learn to manage time. Second rule: Plan ahead. ![grandmotivation.JPG](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPSEZ4mFeXyPtQs2dTaFCsogNVv96pXbUXPEMnBrv2cA4/grandmotivation.JPG) Have you ever wondered why you work hard everyday, so busy that you don't even have time for yourself yet you achieve so little at the end of the day? Journey with me as I unfold the eye-opening methods you can use to start being effective and not just busy. In this present age we have lots of things that can keep us occupied that we won't even realize that time is far spent, things like movies, games, social media, internet just to mention a few, with great use and benefits can also serve as time wasters - depending on how we use them. Being effective implies being productive, bring able to focus on the important stuffs. I have had this experience myself and I write to educate my readers on some of the ways I have changed my routine from being so busy to being effective. Here are a few tips you should take note of if you want to be effective : 1. TIME MANAGEMENT Time is one of the greatest asset we have, we get it for free and it's so invaluable , it can't be replenished. Once lost, it cannot be gained, which is why utilizing it effectively is important to our progress. "The biggest mistake you make is that you think you have time" -Buddha In general it is advisable we spend time on things that really adds value to us. Every human being is gifted 24 hours a day, but some people are highly achieving and some are just there with little progress, the difference is in the way we spend our time. Highly achieving people know the value of time, hence they learn how to manage time, while under-achieving people don't manage it well. Which class do you want to belong? 2. ALWAYS PLAN AHEAD There is a polular saying by Benjamin Franklin that "If you fail to plan you plan to fail". Planning means looking ahead. Even though in most cases a plan needs to be updated, it good to have one because it will serve as a framework for the process. The need to plan ahead cannot be overemphasized, it makes work faster and easier. 3. SET PRIORITIES Even when all tasks looks important it is important you have a list of the ones you want to accomplish first. You might choose to tackle the hard ones first before doing the easy ones because if you expend energy on the easy ones first, the hard ones becomes harder to accomplish. Let's take for example, you ate a student. You have an exam tomorrow and a date today, it will be better off to prepare for the exam first before going to the date, because you might probably be too tired to read when you return from your outing. We all know the potential outcome when a student fails to prepare for a examination. In essence, finish the most important tasks first, this way you are more efficient. 4. STOP MULTITASKING YOURSELF Some people try to do more than a thing at a time, thinking they accomplish more that way. In reality it works the other way round, sometimes our jobs get so overwhelming and all the tasks looks so important that we don't even know where to start, and we try to focus on more than one thing at a time. Well, here is my advice;Focus on one thing at a time. Studies have shown that multitasking only increases time costs and makes tasks more complex which results in reduced efficiency. It's therefore important to ensure that you do not multitask, focus on a thing at a time. 5. WORK SMARTER Imagine if Bill Gates is the one doing all of the work himself, from being the CEO to being the manager, the designer, the programmer, the marketer etc, do you think he can do all the work himself? It's impossible. Working smart is what all the CEO's, company owners, entrepreneurs and all highly achieving people do. Listen, you don't have to do all the work yourself that's why we have professionals skilled to do the task for a reward. Imagine I want to cut down a tree with a blunt axe, what do you think I should do? *Sharpen the axe or try harder using the blunt axe. Of course you will agree with me that sharpening the axe is the solution. That's the ideology of working smart, you don't have to do all the hard work yourself, hire people who are skilled to help you, that way you reduce the bulk of the work you ought to do, this way you are more effective. 6. SET BOUNDARIES Highly efficient people know when to say yes and when to say no. The less achieving people say yes to everything. In the book "Boundaries" Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend made a illustration of a woman named Sherrie that doesn't have the habit of setting boundaries, she thinks it will be unfair to turn some people down, she accepts people's problem as her own at the expense of her own problems, she solve people's problems but ignore her own,and she even use her religious beliefs to back it up.Eventually, that habit took a toll in her life and family affairs. She started having marital problems, her husband was no longer loving, her daughter was depressed and all sort, because she wasn't able to give then enough time. Here is my advise, set boundaries, while solving people's problems, remember yours too, if you don't have the habit of setting boundaries you will always be busy with other people's affairs and your own life will experience little or no progress or the problems might start taking toll on your affairs too just like it took a toll on Sherrie's life. CONCLUSION In this busy world, it is important we balance effectiveness and busyness to ensure progress. I have shared quite a few tips on ways to start being effective, I hope you enjoyed it.
