      "title": "Don't Fall Prey to Victim Mentality.",
      "body": "Attitude is everything. Mental attitude, no matter what the end goal is, either helps you get there or impedes your progress and one of the most damaging attitudes anyone can adopt is victim-mentality.\n\nWhat is victim-mentality?\n\nVictim mentality is a negative mindset. It places blame on other people and circumstances for any unhappiness felt within.\" It is the proverbial \"point the finger out\" scenario.\n\nThose engaged in victim-mentality, view life through a narrow lens of pessimistic perceptions, believing whatever occurs in life is the result of outside causes. Inner reflection is never considered. Being a victim means absolving themselves of blame. Nothing is their fault - ever! Those engaged in victim mentality most often enjoy the attention, sympathy and validation they get from playing this \"poor me\" role.\n\nWhen trapped in victim-hood, the focus becomes how vulnerable we are, rather than on how powerful we are.\n\nWhile, no one is born with victim mentality, no one is exempt from playing the victim role either. Sweet elder grandparents, loving, well-intentioned mothers and fathers, teenagers and even those considered \"spiritually awakened\" can all be found to dwell in this defeatist realm.\n\n\nIn fact, every person alive has played the victim role more than once in their lives.\n\nVictims want to be mentally prepared for the worst and sadly, for those dwelling in victim-hood, this self-sabotaging behavior becomes more powerful when things seem to be going their way as they are sure \"disaster is waiting around the next corner.\"\nSo, how does one break free from this self-defeating, \"poor me,\" pessimistic type programming, most of which was developed and adopted as a child?\n\nIt all begins at home with your perceptions/how your view yourself. Do you perceive yourself as a survivor or a victim?\n\n\nSurvivors embrace life and flow with it. They live in the present and take control over their lives. They are fully aware that they alone are responsible for what occurs. They know that taking responsibility for their lives, they are empowered to change their lives.\n\nVictims, on the other hand, wallow in self-pity and argue with and push back at life. They dwell in the past, believing they are helpless to change circumstances - their key to avoiding responsibility. They live defensively and stay frozen in time, without making progress because their perceptions tell them they are powerless.\nThe cost of victim mentality is high. It negatively affects every area of life - professional and personal. Those who see themselves as a failure, are dwelling in victim-hood because failure only comes to those who give up.\n\nIf we really want to shift out of victim mentality, we must first own it. We can't change what we don't own. We must shift our attitude and know that \"change begins with me.\" We must embrace survival and take actions steps... no matter how small or insignificant they may seem now, towards some goal we are looking to attain.\n\nMost importantly, we must continually empower ourselves with \"I can\" and \"I will\" statements and put a stop to degrading \"I can't\" or \"I won't\" statements and beliefs.\n\nAnd, we must embrace gratitude - the greatest of attitudes. Daily, we need to take time to reflect on all the things that make us happy, on all the things that are going well in our life. Keeping our mind/energy focused on positive situations helps to counteract victim mentality.\n\nIn the end, we must honor ourselves with the same degree of respect and love that we try to give others. Only then will our minds and actions shift out of victim-hood to survival mode.\n\nTruth is, we can't control other's actions or every circumstance that shows up in our lives, but we can control how we react to them. We don't have to be victims. It is a choice. Whatever happens or comes our way, we must view it as a challenge and not an excuse.\n\nLooking for a powerful partner to help erase the negative victim tapes that play over and over in your head?       "body": "The book under review titled, 'The Poetical Works of Tiruloka Sitaram with Translation and Notes' has 55 poems of the great Tamil poet Tiruloka Sitaram duly translated in English by Sekkizhar Adi-p-podi Dr T.N.Ramachandran.\n\nTiruloka Sitaram was born to Lokanatha Iyer and Meenakshi Sundarammal on 1-4-1917 at a small village called Thondaimanthurai in Trichy district in Tamilnadu, India. His father passed away in his third year and his uncle brought him up. His mother tongue was Telugu. He married Rajamani aged 10 at his 19th year.\n\nHe started his life as a priest. He was very much interested in Tamil literature. He went to Ramasami padayachi, a great Tamil scholar and learnt all the Tamil epics like Kamba Ramayanam and Bharatham.\n\nHe started composing his own wonderful poems. He started publishing a Tamil magazine by name India Valiban and had written articles under the nickname Mandahasan. Later on he had used his own name for all of his writings.\n\nHe was very much attracted by the poems of the great Poet Subramanya Bharathi. It became his habit not to spend a day without reading or quoting at least some lines from Bharatiyar.\n\nThe bond was so deep that he assumed himself as a spiritual son of Bharathi even though he had never seen the great poet as he was passed away during 1921.\n\nHe went to the house of Chellammal Bharathi, the wife of Bharathi, during her last days. Chellammal breathed her last on his lap.\n\nAs a journalist he started a magazine by name Sivaji and the poems and articles published therein attracted the Tamil world. He lived only for 56 years and breathed his last on 23-8-1973.\n\nHis famous poem Gandarva Ganam describes the dawn, the evening in powerful words.\n\nThe translation goes like this:\n\nThe day dawned on Pothika's peak\n\nAnd 'neath the sprint that lay a crescent\n\nWas the ragged mountain-cave\n\nIts mammoth mouth wide agape\n\n'Twixt whose teeth, solemn and devout\n\nFlowed the flood onto the plain.\n\nWe may compare these lines with Kubla Khan of Coleridge:\n\n\".. That deep romantic chasm which slanted\n\nDown the green hill.\"\n\nThe Evening comes like this:\n\nThe hasting Sun rushed headlong\n\nAnd smote the spring with million shafts;\n\nThe frothy foam vaporescent\n\nIn atoms rose as wondrous bow\n\nWhich he eyed in delight great,\n\nThe hunting bow on shoulder slacked.\n\nHere, the line 'frothy foam vaporescent; may be compared to Milton's\n\n'When vapours fired\n\nImpress the air\"\n\nThis is just one example to explain how the poetic mind of Tiruloka Sitaram explores the nature.\n\nWe have fifty-five such wonderful poems duly translated in English.\n\nThe book is printed beautifully in such a way that one would not put it down without reading all the poems.\n\nThe translator T.N.Ramachandran has compared many of the poems with that of Shakespeare's and concludes \" The thoughts of Donne and Coleridge are less powerful than those of Shakespeare who however finds a match in Tiruloka Sitaram\".\n\nWe may see some more poems of this great poet in our next article.\n\nSanthanam Nagarajan has written more than five thousand articles in Tamil and English. He has published 61 digital books so far. Thousands worldwide are reading his articles on Mantras, Tantras, Science and Hinduism. He has appeared in more than 130 TV programs. If you're wearing white jeans and a yellow puffer jacket, you'll be easily spotted, and easily to target. Think muted shades and of course, camouflage, to give you a tactical advantage. It's tempting to wear a baseball cap, but you really want a helmet.\n\nIf you don't have good clothes, strip in the assembly area: This is a bit of a weird one, but when you start a game, you a minute of so in the assembly area. You can drop your clothes and others might come over to swap. You can then swipe a better set of clothes. OK, sometimes it doesn't happen, but sometimes you'll get a great set of threads!\n\nChoose your moment to jump from the aircraft: PUBG Mobile plots the path of the aircraft across the map, so you can see what you'll be flying over. It also tells you how many people are left on-board, so you've a general idea of the distribution across the map. Using this information you can pick your INFIL point, avoiding areas full of other players. Bigger towns attract more jumpers.\n\nFreefall with speed: As soon as you're out of the aircraft, push forward on your controller and you dive toward the ground. This gets you to the ground faster, so you're not drifting down while others are gathering weapons and preparing to slaughter you. Your 'chute opens automatically, so you don't need to worry about that.\n\nOpen your 'chute early to fly across the map: If you're out of the aircraft and you can see masses of people already falling below you, perhaps you want to be elsewhere. Pop your 'chute manually, and you can drift a long way across the map to a different area. Remember though, that while you're drifting, others are gathering.\n\nMaster the map: The map is your best friend because it shows you the game area, which decreases through-out the game. You need to stay inside this area, or you'll slowly die. Drop a marker on the map and you'll see it in your compass to help you navigate to a safe area. You might need to zoom in as the game progresses, especially towards the closing stages.\n\nAvoid the red zone: The map also shows you the red zone, which is an artillery barrage. If you're in the red zone, there's a good chance you'll get hit, although if you're in a building you'll probably be able to ride it out just fine.\n\nGet protected with auto pick-up: Your baseball cap looks great, but a helmet stops your head splitting like a melon (usually). Grab that protective kit so you can take a little more damage. Ensure that auto pick-up is turned on and you'll replace kit with higher rated stuff when you find it.\n\nGet the right weapons for the job: The weapons in PUBG Mobile work like real-world weapons: shotguns and pistols are only good for short range, SMGs are great in enclosed spaces when you want to put down a lot of fire quickly, the assault rifles are good all-rounders. An assault rifle and an SMG is a great combo, two pistols is not. In the new version 6 armoury, you can see the characteristics of all the weapons and mods.\nPocket-lintPubg Mobile Tips And Tricks image 9\n\nCollect sights: Many of the weapons are adaptable and holo sights and scopes make it much easier to hit the target. At the start of the game, manually grab sights and scopes you find, so they will then attach to weapons you collect. Bingo, you'll be dropping bad guys in no time. If you have spare sights, share them with your team.\n\nEmpty your backpack: If you're carrying loads of stuff you don't need, you'll fill your bag, meaning less space for stuff you need. Tap on your backpack to see the contents and then drop the stuff you don't need, like ammunition for a weapon you've dropped.\n\nManually drop weapons: Auto pick-up sometimes means that you'll drop your scoped silenced SMG for a rifle, which you might not want. Open the backpack as above and you can drag a weapon to the trash can to drop it. You can then get the loadout you want.\n\nSwap sights on your rifles: You'll automatically add sights to some rifles, but you have the option to equip a particular weapon with a particular accessory. Put the 8x scope on your 7.62mm weapons, because they have greater power and range, so are better for sniping. Avoid big magnification on SMGs - they're better at close quarters combat where you just want a holographic sight.\n\nUse silencers: Stealth is your friend in PUBG, because gunfire is located on the map for enemies that are close by. Silenced weapons make it much harder for other players to locate you - there are silencers for many weapon types (AR, sniper, SMG, pistol) but you might have to manually add it to your weapon once you've found it if you already have a compensator fitted. Silencers do not change the ballistic properties of weapons.\n\nLie down when raiding crates: When you kill someone, you can raid the crate they drop for more stuff. Lie down when you do it, because otherwise anyone else in the area will spot the green puff of smoke, then snipe you while you stand there selecting a new pair of shoes.\n\nMaster sprinting: To move across the map quickly, sprinting is often the way to do it. You can lock sprinting by tapping the running icon next to the map. Then you can run and look at the map, have a drink or whatever.\n\nDash, down, crawl, observe, sights, fire: It's a basic infantry drill that really works - much better than jumping repeatedly and firing. If you're taking fire, move and hit the deck, keep moving and the enemy will lose you. Then you need to locate the enemy, get eyes on them, hit the aim and neutralise them. Simple. (But sometimes you'll just get dead.)\n\nDon't jump out of fast moving vehicles: Yes, you'll die. Try not to crash as your vehicle will take on damage. If you lose a tyre, it won't drive so well.\n\nCollect medikits, always: You will get shot and you can often recover from that with some medical attention. Pickup medical supplies because they will often be more useful to you than grenades.\n\nRemember the aim of the game is to survive: If you want to win, you can pretty much do so by collecting your weapons, staying out of trouble and killing the last few people. The aim isn't to kill the most people, it's to be the last player standing. Hiding and staying out of trouble is a good way to do that.\n\nWatch out for the bridges: As the play area shrinks, you might find you need to cross one of the bridges. Take care, as these are natural ambush points, with cars being used to block bridges so you can't just race through. It also means you can use interlocking fields of fire to engage any enemy. Don't, for example, bunch around a dropped crate as you'll be taken out with a burst from a machine gun. Fighting as a team is the best way to win.\n\nIsolate the threat before you revive: You can revive your team members when they're injured - it's perhaps the biggest part of being a squad - but don't rush over as soon as they drop as you'll probably get shot. Watch your partner's health meter in the top left corner, while you eliminate the threat. If you die trying to revive your team, you all lose. Use these to make sure you're aware of where enemy action is - so you can avoid it, observe it, or engage.\n\nUse your grenades: When you're in the dirt, you'll often not be able to see your opponent for a clear shot. Try throwing out a grenade and they'll run to avoid it giving you a target to shoot, or you might wound or kill them.
