      "title": "Por qué agosto será el momento de la verdad para Bitcoin, y por qué las monedas virtuales están cayendo?",
      "body": "Se esperan tiempo de incertidumbre para el mundo de las monedas virtuales.\n\n\nUna de las cosas más mencionadas estos días en los foros de Bitcoin y en general en foros de criptomonedas es el ‘primero de agosto’. Sin embargo, no todos saben qué significa este día para el mundo de las monedas virtuales y por qué es tan importante.\n\nLos más apocalípticos están anunciando que este día será superhorroroso y que tenemos que sacar todo nuestro dinero de esta moneda (e incluso de otras). De lo contrario, perderemos todo (o mejor dicho, gran parte) de nuestro dinero.\n\nPero nada más lejos de la realidad, pues lo que pase ese día (que ya lo veremos) no tiene porqué repercutir de manera negativa en la moneda. Lo que sí que sabemos a ciencia cierta es que este ‘apocalipsis’ está repercutiendo negativamente tanto en el BTC como en otras monedas.\n\nO sea, los que tengamos BTC nos estamos viendo perjudicados por los apocalípticos que anuncian a bombo y platillo sacar todo dinero de forma urgente. Actualmente se están viendo caídas diarias del 30% en muchas de las monedas. En parte este movimiento descendente se debe a la estampida que están pegando muchos usuarios al retirar sus fondos invertidos.\n\nLo que pasa el día primero de agosto es que la moneda se va a bifurcar. Pero no se trata de una ‘bifurcación suave’ (también conocida como ‘soft fork‘), sino que se trata de una ‘bifurcación dura’ (‘hard fork‘).\n\nDiferencia entre bifurcación suave y dura\n\nUna bifurcación, para quién no lo conozca, es una actualización de las ‘reglas’ del Blockchain, la tecnología que hay detrás de las criptomonedas. La diferencia entre estos términos es que el primero (soft fork) es una actualización que no afecta al funcionamiento; un hard fork, en cambio, implicar acoger los cambios queramos o no si queremos seguir con el desarrollo oficial.\n\n\nEs decir, podemos seguir con las reglas anteriores, pero no sería considerado como la moneda original. Un ejemplo de bifurcación dura es lo que sufrió Ethereum en 2016: las reglas antiguas pasaron a formar Ethereum Classic (ETC) y las nuevas siguieron siendo Ethereum (ETH) per se. Cada una de las dos monedas son diferentes y por lo tanto cada una tiene su comunidad y su valor de mercado.\n\nQué pasa si se realiza una bifurcación dura\n\nRealizar una bifurcación dura implica que, si toda la comunidad no apoya el movimiento, habrá un largo periodo de inestabilidad y de incertidumbre. Por eso mismo es un movimiento muy arriesgado.\n\nLa explicación a por qué no se sabe qué moneda será mejor acogida es porque media comunidad está dividida en que el problema presente (la poca capacidad del Bitcoin para realizar muchas transacciones al mismo tiempo) se debe solucionar mediante la reducción del tamaño de las transacciones; mientras que otro tanto de la gente piensa que se debe solucionar aumentando el número de transacciones por bloque.\n\nLa crisis del 1 de agosto en cifras\n\nSe han visto cosas tan inusuales como que el Litecoin haya superado en volumen de transacciones al propio Bitcoin. En concreto, esta alternativa al BTC alcanzó un volumen total de más de 1000 millones de dólares.\n\nPor otro lado, esta misma moneda, el Litecoin, ha sido una de las que más ha resistido a las caídas múltiples de todas las criptomonedas. Como vemos en la imagen inferior, el LTC cayó ayer tan solo casi 9 puntos, mientras que otras monedas como BitShares o Stratis cayern en torno a un 30 y un 40%.\n\nPor el momento, como decimos, no se sabe qué va a ocurrir a ciencia cierta con el Bitcoin, aunque como vemos, el pensamiento cuasi-apocalíptico está calando de forma (muy) negativa.\n\nPuede que todo sea muy enrevesado, pero esos mismos que han comenzado el movimiento apocalíptico puede que se estén beneficiando económicamente de la caía libre que están sufriendo las criptomonedas.
