      "body": "Ya pasó Julio de 2016 y Bitcoin ha tenido su segundo halving. ¿Pero qué es el halving?\n\nVamos a tratar de entregar un poco de claridad a los que no están tan familiarizados con el funcionamiento de la red Bitcoin.\n\nRecordemos que según el paper publicado por Satoshi Nakamoto, la cantidad de bitcoins totales a circular será de 21 millones.\n\nSin embargo, hoy en dia existen unos 15.8 millones de bitcoins en circulación. ¿Dónde está la diferencia?\n\nEsa diferencia entre los bitcoins ya existentes y la cantidad total a existir se debe a que los bitcoins van apareciendo en cada bloque nuevo de la cadena de bloques (blockchain en inglés).\n\nHoy en día, sumar un nuevo bloque a la blockchain tiene dos objetivos:\n1. procesar las transacciones pendientes y cobrar los fees\n2. obtener una recompensa extra\n\nEs el punto 2, la recompensa extra, la que se relaciona con la aparición de nuevos bitcoins. Esa recompensa va variando decrecientemente cada 4 años.\n\nLa cantidad de bitcoins dada en recompensa baja con el tiempo: es divida aproximadamente cada 4 años, que es cuando se alcanza el número de 210000 bloques procesados desde el último halving.\n\nEste evento, osea el momento cuando la tasa de creación de Bitcoins se divide por 2, se llama \"Halving\" (\"mitad\" en inglés).\n\nCuando la red Bitcoin fue creada en 2009, la recompensa inicial por agregar un nuevo bloque a la cadena era de 50 bitcoins.\n\nEn Noviembre de 2012, cuando ocurrió el primer halving, bajó hasta 25 bitcoins.\n\nEl segundo Halving sucedió en el pasado mes de Julio 2016, bajando la recompensa a 12.5 bitcoins para cada bloque nuevo descubierto.\n\nEsto suceso es parte del código de Bitcoin, por lo que no es posible cambiarlo (de hacerlo se crearía otra moneda que no seguiría la cadena de bloques actual).\n\n¿Sabías esto?
