Approximately a dozen of those gathered entered the store and attempted to shop.  Why the Co-Op?  Organizer Frank \"Footloose\" Staples said that it was due to the large number of reports of store staff and customers being very unfriendly to people with medical exemptions from wearing masks.  One woman even wrote a <a href=\"https://www.sentinelsource.com/opinion/letters_to_the_editor/store-staff-treated-me-as-a-pariah-by-kirsten-anderson/article_620c5194-fc73-58ca-9736-c8ff00670e85.html\">letter to the editor of the Keene Sentinel</a> about her difficult experience at the Co-Op.\n\nTrue to form, some customers were downright hostile, including a younger man - wearing two masks - who told a young woman with a baby to \"get the hell out of here\", then yelled something similar at me outside the store, despite the fact that I had not gone inside, as I am not a shopper of the Co-Op.  I do understand the perspective of those who participated in the shopping:  Since the store is open to the public, it should to serve people with medical exemptions.  It's certainly their right to refuse service to people for whatever reasons they want, but if a medical condition is a reason to refuse service, then they should take down their \"Everyone Welcome\" marquee and become a private club, open only to members.\n\nAnother noteworthy character who makes multiple appearances in the video is the self-described \"Blue Collar Brawler\".  The elderly, double-masked man has words with everyone he comes across, wishing them death and calling the free-faced people \"asshole\", and \"stupid\".  He even loads up his hand with a roll of quarters to white knight for a masked woman who herself is shouting at an unmasked older man in one of the store aisles.  It's a <a href=\"https://open.lbry.com/@FreeKeene:2/Co-Op_Mask-Free-Shopping:5\">wild video</a>. \n\nYouTubers <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/c/BreakingtheFlaw\">Breaking the Flaw</a> and <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTh7gSeHu5Qg94yRveCbj2Q\">Savage Truth 603</a> were both among the free-faced shoppers.  I cut their videos into my footage and uploaded an <a href=\"https://open.lbry.com/@FreeKeene:2/Co-Op_Mask-Free-Shopping:5\">overview of the entire event to the Free Keene LBRY</a>. Please <a href=\"https://open.lbry.com/@FreeKeene:2/Co-Op_Mask-Free-Shopping:5\">watch and share the LBRY video</a> and follow <a href=\"http://video.freekeene.com\">our channel there</a>.\n\nTo the Co-Op's credit, the DID allow all the unmasked shoppers to make their purchases, though there were a large number of them.  Individuals who attempted to shop at this store prior to this event had reported being made to feel very uncomfortable and even being refused service.  I recommend taking your business elsewhere and shopping at places who respect the freedom to choose.",

      "body": "https://freekeene.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Banner_Multinaut_With_Logo.png\n\nThis weekend, the <a href=\"http://youtube.freekeene.com\">Free Keene YouTube channel</a> received a \"strike\" for \"<a href=\"https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2801964\">harmful or dangerous content</a>\" and is frozen to any new uploads for a week.  Why?  Apparently <a href=\"https://odysee.com/@FreeKeene:2/free-keene-15-promo:1\">a :15 promo uploaded in 2011</a> triggered someone - or some newly-running algorithm - and needs to be taken down!  \n\nThe <a href=\"https://odysee.com/@FreeKeene:2/free-keene-15-promo:1\">supposedly offensive promo</a> has a limited amount of footage that could possibly be objectionable.  Was it the scenes of two men being arrested?  A photo of a massive 420 rally in Central Square in 2009?  A man speaking into a megaphone?  A photo of a band playing or people playing a card game in Railroad Square?  A large group of people standing around the \"Welcome to New Hampshire\" sign at the Vermont border?  The 4:20 pumpkin?\n\nTwo days prior to this strike, <a href=\"https://odysee.com/@FreeKeene:2/move-freekeene-com-15-promo:f\">another decade-old :15 promo</a> was allegedly found objectionable, this one featuring then-libertarian Penn Jillette saying he should move to Keene to join the Free Staters.  I appealed the finding, and YouTube reversed it, once again allowing <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYf3FdjGhfo\">the video to be played</a>.  So, when the subsequent takedown happened this weekend, I also appealed it, asking in my appeal where the supposed \"harmful or dangerous\" content was.  They upheld their decision to block the short promo video and give the account a \"strike\".  Of course, they declined to state exactly what it was in those scant fifteen seconds that was so offensive.\n\nThe strike would have been a warning, but the account had recently received a warning in late February when <a href=\"https://freekeene.com/2021/02/25/youtube-bans-white-rose-society-video-watch-it-on-odysee-lbry/\">YouTube removed a video promoting the new White Rose Society</a> for violating their \"medical misinformation\" policy.  So, that's two videos taken down within a few weeks, hence the strike and now the account is not allowed to have uploads or live streams, among other things, for a week.\n\nLuckily, we've been cultivating our exit plan from YouTube for years.\n\nIn 2018 <a href=\"https://freekeene.com/2018/05/12/decentralized-lbry-protecting-free-keene-videos-from-youtube-censorship/\">Free Keene was among the first to join</a> the \"<a href=\"https://lbry.com/youtube\">YouTube Partner Program</a>\" that automatically syncs our YouTube uploads to the decentralized blockchain-based media protocol, <a href=\"http://lbry.com\">LBRY</a>.  We've promoted LBRY multiple times as they have successfully <a href=\"https://freekeene.com/2019/07/17/youtube-censors-hippie-vs-nazi-debate-watch-it-now-thanks-to-lbry/\">protected our videos</a> that <a href=\"https://freekeene.com/2021/02/25/youtube-bans-white-rose-society-video-watch-it-on-odysee-lbry/\">YouTube has deleted</a> over the years.\n\nNow, YouTube has increased its rate of finding things it doesn't like about our videos.  It may not be long before our entire channel is taken down.  If you haven't looked seriously at <a href=\"http://lbry.com\">LBRY</a> yet, now is the time to do it.  In 2020, they launched <a href=\"http://odysee.com\">Odysee</a>, a video platform built on LBRY. Unlike YouTube, LBRY/Odysee has no strikes and videos cannot be taken down.  It's true content freedom, and blockchain-powered. Here's what you need to know about them:\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Frank 'Footloose' Sparks - The founder of Absolute Defiance, Footloose has been leading the protests outside NH gang leader Chris Sununu's home.  He was recently <a href=\"https://freekeene.com/2021/02/02/video-footloose-arrested-at-shire-choir-caroling-at-nh-governors-house/\">arrested in front of Sununu's home</a> for speaking to a cop.   </li>\n\t<li>Skylar Bennett - Skylar made headlines in December for being the <a href=\"https://freekeene.com/2020/12/31/video-dozens-of-cops-ticket-candlelight-vigil-arrest-one-in-front-of-nh-governors-house/\">first person arrested at Sununu's house</a> - for holding a peaceful candlelight vigil.  He's also a YouTuber vlogger on his channel, <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTh7gSeHu5Qg94yRveCbj2Q\">Savage Truth 603.</a></li>\n\t<li>Jason Gerhard - Jason is currently a <a href=\"http://gohardwithgerhard.com\">candidate for Selectman in Northfield, NH</a> in an election happening TODAY.  He's qualified a warrant article for the town meeting this weekend which - if passed - instructs the Selectmen to ask some very interesting questions of the IRS.  We discussed it with him <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcDx0eiK3Ic\">in detail on Free Talk Live this last Saturday</a>.  Jason also spent nearly 13 years in federal prison for supporting tax freedom advocates Ed and Elaine Brown and was released in early 2020.</li>\n</ul>\n\nThe situation is very reminiscent of <a href=\"https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Afreekeene.com+chalking+manchester&oq=site%3Afree&aqs=chrome.0.69i59l3j69i57j69i59l2j69i58.3222j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8\">what happened in 2011 when eight activists</a> - mostly from Keene - were arrested and charged with \"criminal mischief\" among other catch-alls, for chalking pro-freedom messages outside Manchester's police gang headquarters.  They were the \"Chalking Eight\".\n\nThe White Rose has been a very <a href=\"http://t.me/jointhewhiterose\">active group on Telegram</a>, with photos posted daily from people placing their eye-opening, thought-provoking, and sometimes amusing stickers on various things all around the world.       "body": "Porcupine Day is the day the <a href=\"http://freestateproject.org\">Free State Project</a> reached its goal of 20,000 signers of their pledge to migrate to New Hampshire as a liberty activist.  \n\n<a href=\"https://freekeene.com/2016/02/03/video-free-state-project-officially-announces-20000-signers-100-reached/\">The original Porcupine Day was in February 2016</a>, which marked the beginning of the FSP's five-year-long moving window.  February 2021 marks the close of that window.  However, the Free State Project will not be shutting down and is instead going to continue recruiting more liberty-minded people to make the move to the Shire.\n\nI attended the event and recorded the various speakers.       "body": "In December, the town gang in Newfields, NH passed an unconstitutional ordinance against \"picketing\" and then <a href=\"https://freekeene.com/2020/12/31/video-dozens-of-cops-ticket-candlelight-vigil-arrest-one-in-front-of-nh-governors-house/\">ticketed multiple people for a peaceful protest outside New Hampshire tyrant-king Chris Sununu's house</a>.  They also arrested YouTuber <a href=\"https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTh7gSeHu5Qg94yRveCbj2Q\">Savage Truth 603</a> at the same time for \"disorderly conduct\".  \n\nSubsequent gatherings at Sununu's during January were left alone by police, but then on Sunday the 31st peaceful protestors were once again targeted by a phalanx of state police and local cops.\n\nWhen we arrived around 2pm, there were already a bunch of police cruisers and probably at least a dozen visible masked cops around Sununu's house.  After some speaking and sign-holding, we began to sing <a href=\"http://covid.freekeene.com\">COVID Carols</a>.  During the second song, several more state police cruisers arrived with a bunch of yellow-jacketed goons complete with zip ties.\n\nThey started walking towards us in a line as we continued our songs - the lyrics to which you can download at <a href=\"http://covid.freekeene.com\">covid.freekeene.com</a>.  The armed thugs then stopped advancing and went back, perhaps aware that arresting people for singing might not look good on video.\n\nAfter we finished, <a href=\"http://electnobody.com\">Nobody</a> and I started to pack up to leave as \"Footloose\" from <a href=\"https://t.me/absolutedefiance\">Absolute Defiance</a> approached the police again, demanding he be given a ticket for \"picketing\".  The police chief from Newfields indicated that he did indeed have a ticket for Footloose, but no one else.  The armed man then threatened Footloose with kidnapping if he raised his voice - something Footloose is known to do as a normal state of talking.  Then, they arrested him for asking a masked plainclothes state police agent to identify himself.  The charge?  Cops' favorite catch-all for peaceful activists they don't like: \"Disorderly Conduct\".       "body": "Back in mid-December I'd attended the final \"stop the steal\" rally in Concord to do some secssion outreach.  The series of rallies by this time had basically died off, so Concord police decided to show up for the first time ever and targeted the lone man with a rifle.  According to the muffled cop, someone - probably from Massachusetts - had called in a report of the man, who was entirely within his rights to bear arms in New Hampshire and the two masked agents of the state responded.  \n\nAfter asking if he could get down from the bench on which he was standing, the man refused their invitation to talk and after confirming he was not being arrested, turned around and wisely ignored the uniformed gang members.  Meanwhile I began peppering the lead agent with questions and then Nobody started in as well.  Within a minute, they take off.       "title": "We competed with Big Tech before it was cool. Now we’re launching a social network.",
      "body": "More than a decade ago, Facebook was still growing into the social media behemoth they are today.  If you were around back then, you remember when it was actually useful for reaching friends across the world and keeping-in-touch.\n\nThere was a time, for instance, when you could create an event on Facebook and click an \"invite all\" box to invite all your friends to the event.  Super handy!  Every friend received an invite in their inbox and could make the choice to attend or not.  The previous activist method of organizing - forums - did not have this calendar event feature, and understandably the activists migrated to Facebook as it seemed more useful for making things happen.\n\nThen Facebook <a href=\"https://www.adweek.com/performance-marketing/facebook-to-bring-back-option-to-invite-all-group-members-to-events/\">removed the \"invite all\" option</a> from their events almost a decade ago. \n\nThat was the first clue that things were not going in a good direction.  At the time, you could still download a third-party browser plugin that brought the invite-all option back, but eventually Facebook changed their code so the plugin no longer worked.  That was the end of easily being able to organize events on Facebook.\n\nhttps://i2.wp.com/freekeene.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/no_facebook_neon-1.jpg\n\nLater, Facebook made it so you had to pay them if you wanted all your followers to see your posts.  In more recent years we've seen anti-state events being taken down entirely and in recent days blanket bans applied to people with certain political views.\n\nWith record numbers of people leaving megacorporate state-worshiping sites like Facebook and Twitter for less-big-but-still-centralized communications platforms like Signal and Telegram, it's finally cool to get off \"Big Tech\".\n\nNaturally, your friendly freedom-loving activists here at <a href=\"http://freekeene.com\">Free Keene</a> have been encouraging this for more than a decade.  It started when we launched the <a href=\"http://forum.shiresociety.com\">Shire Forum</a> over a decade back.  Originally the Free Keene Forum, it transitioned to become the Shire Society Forums after the <a href=\"http://shiresociety.com\">Shire Society</a> was formed in 2010.  As one of the forum's founders, I never cared for Facebook's groups and wanted to keep forums alive as they were independents, self-hosted and open source.  \n\nEventually the Shire Society Forums expanded to include other things like cryptocurrency discussion and non-Shire NH activism and media threads, so it was renamed simply \"<a href=\"http://forum.shiresociety.com\">Shire Forum</a>\".  For the last few years it's been running some super-modern forum software called Discourse.  If you are a liberty-minded person considering a move to New Hampshire or already living here and you haven't been on forums in many years - or ever - give the <a href=\"http://forum.shiresociety.com\">Shire Forum</a> a try.\n\nKeene-area liberty activists have also been on the Telegram platform for chatting for most of the last decade.  It's long been the top-of-class of all centralized chat platforms on the planet.  Slick, easy-to-use and great for group chats.  However, while the source code for their clients is open-source, it's not decentralized and so several years back we evaluated the <a href=\"https://matrix.org/\">Matrix</a> - a decentralized, federated chat server system - and put its main client, then called \"Riot\" through the paces.  It was good, but not great, and not easy-to-use like Telegram was.  After about a year of trying it out, most of us gave up.\n\nHowever, in 2020 we launched our own Matrix server after the centrally-hosted Discord corporation unceremoniously booted the <a href=\"http://lrn.fm\">LRN.FM</a> chat server from its centrally managed platform.  We knew it was coming and I'd heard that Matrix had a new client out called \"Element\" and that it was way better than its original \"Riot\", so we launched our own Matrix server at <a href=\"https://matrix.lrn.fm\">Matrix.LRN.FM</a>.  It has been great, and the increase in freedom is palpable.  No corporate masters are holding an axe over our heads.\n\nMatrix is open source, self-hosted, and federated, which means that all of the Matrix servers on the planet are by default connected together, so users from one Matrix server can reach the rest of the planet's Matrix users on other servers.  Unless, a server admin disfederates, or blocks another server for whatever reason.  Matrix is way more decentralized than Big Tech monsters like Discord.  Technically, Matrix is polycentric - with many centers.  If you don't like one Matrix server, you can join another, or start your own.  Element is indeed way better than Riot.  If you want to try freer chat, join the <a href=\"https://matrix.lrn.fm\">LRN.FM Matrix server</a> where you can join existing rooms or create and moderate your own, private or public.
