titleSHEKEL REMOTE MASTERNODE SETUP ON Ubuntu 14.04, 64 bit for NOOBS
body![jew mn.PNG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmW1syS3HyVLo15UGEJu5aamXxY4Swhaopn7tJc7q6EcyA/jew%20mn.PNG) # COLD WALLET SETUP USING QT GUI WALLET ON WINDOWS (PART 1) This is the wallet where the MasterNode collateral of 25000 JEW coins will have to be transferred and stored. After the setup is complete, this wallet doesn't have to run 24/7 and will be the one receiving the rewards. wallet: https://github.com/shekeltechnologies/JewNew/releases 1. Install and open the Shekel-Qt wallet on your machine. 2. Create a receiving address for the Masternode collateral funds. Go to File -> Receiving addresses... Click New, type in a label and press Ok. 3. Select the row of the newly added address and click Copy to store the destination address in the clipboard. 4. Send exactly 25000 JEW coins to the address you just copied. Double check you've got the correct address before transferring the funds. After sending, you can verify the balance in the Transactions tab. This can take a few minutes to be confirmed by the network. 5. Open the debug console of the wallet in order to type a few commands. Go to Tools -> Debug console 6. Run the following command: masternode genkey You should see a long key that looks like: 3HaYBVUCYjEMeeH1Y4sBGLALQZE1Yc1K64xiqgX37tGBDQL8Xg We will use this later on both cold and hot wallets. 7. Run masternode outputs command to retrieve the transaction ID of the collateral transfer. You should see an output that looks like this: [ { "txhash" : "6782efab3a76fa557370ec3b9c13bf0d0df3d4df63adc018e1dd90e1c8da088e", "outputidx" : 1 } ] Both txhash and outputidx will be used in the next step. outputidx can be 0 or 1, both are valid values 8. Go to Tools -> Open Masternode Configuration File and add a line in the newly opened masternode.conf file. The file will contain an example that is commented out, but based on the above values, I would add this line in: MN1 45.76.33.125:5500 3HaYBVUCYjEMeeH1Y4sBGLALQZE1Yc1K64xiqgX37tGBDQL8Xg 6782efab3a76fa557370ec3b9c13bf0d0df3d4df63adc018e1dd90e1c8da088e 1 Where 45.76.33.125 is the external IP of the masternode server that will provide services to the network. If you want to control multiple hot wallets from this cold wallet, you will need to repeat the previous 2-10 steps. The masternode.conf file will contain an entry for each masternode that will be added to the network. 9. Restart the Qt wallet to pick up the masternode.conf changes. 10. Go to Masternodes tab and check if your newly added masternode is listed. At this point, we are going to configure our remote Masternode server. # HOT WALLET MASTERNODE VPS SETUP ON UBUNTU 14.04, 64bit only (Part 2) Requires details from (Part 1). This will run 24/7 and provide services to the network via TCP port 5500 for which it will be rewarded with coins. It will run with an empty wallet reducing the risk of loosing the funds in the event of an attack. 1. Get a VPS server from a provider like Vultr, DigitalOcean, Linode, Amazon AWS, etc. Requirements: Linux VPS (Ubuntu 14.04, 64 bit) Dedicated Public IP Address Recommended at least 1GB of RAM 2. Login via SSH into the server and type the following command in the console as root: If you are using Windows, PuTTY is a very good SSH client that you can use to connect to a remote Linux server. Update and Install new packages by running these commands one by one: remember if you are not using root always put sudo before any command apt-get update -y apt-get upgrade -y apt-get install wget nano unrar unzip -y apt-get install libboost-all-dev libevent-dev software-properties-common -y add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin -y apt-get update apt-get install libdb4.8-dev libdb4.8++-dev -y 3. Configure swap to avoid running out of memory: fallocate -l 1500M /mnt/1500MB.swap dd if=/dev/zero of=/mnt/1500MB.swap bs=1024 count=1572864 mkswap /mnt/1500MB.swap swapon /mnt/1500MB.swap chmod 600 /mnt/1500MB.swap echo '/mnt/1500MB.swap none swap sw 0 0' >> /etc/fstab 4. Allow the MasterNode p2p communication port through the OS firewall: ufw allow 5500/tcp ufw logging on ufw --force enable If you are running the MasterNode server in Amazon AWS or another place where additional firewalls are in place, you need to allow incoming connections on port 5500/TCP 5. Install the Shekel CLI wallet. Always download the latest release available, unpack it wget https://github.com/shekeltechnologies/JewNew/releases/download/1.2.1.0/Shekel-linux.rar unrar x Shekel-linux.rar rm Shekel-linux.rar chmod +x shekel-cli shekeld mv shekel-cli shekeld /usr/local/bin/ shekeld You'll get a start error like Error: To use shekeld, or the -server option to shekel-qt, you must set an rpcpassword in the configuration file. It's expected because we haven't created the config file yet. The service will only start for a second and create the initial data directory(~/.shekel/). 6. Edit the MasterNode main wallet configuration file: nano /root/.shekel/shekel.conf Enter this wallet configuration data and change accordingly: rpcuser=(alphanumeric_rpc_username) rpcpassword=(alphanumeric_rpc_password) rpcport=5501 listen=1 server=1 daemon=1 maxconnections=250 masternode=1 externalip=(ip_address_here):5500 masternodeaddr=(ip_address_here):5500 masternodeprivkey=(the_cold_wallet_genkey_value_here) Exit the editor by CTRL+X and hit Y + ENTER to commit your changes. 7. Start the service with: shekeld 8. Wait until is synced with the blockchain network: Run this command every few mins until the block count stopped increasing fast. shekel-cli getinfo Give it 30 mins now for this node to "get social" with the other nodes in the network. Once it peers up with a good number of other masternodes, the following activation steps should work fine. # ENABLING MASTERNODE (Part 3) 1. Go back to the local(cold) wallet and open Tools > Wallet conf. type in these rpcuser=(alphanumeric_rpc_username) same as the one you used on the vps rpcpassword=(alphanumeric_rpc_password) same as the one you used on the vps rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 listen=1 server=1 daemon=1 staking=1 logtimestamps=1 Save and exit 2. Go back to the local(cold) wallet and open Tools - debug console. Type this command to see all the MasterNodes loaded from the masternode.conf file with their current status: masternode list-conf You should now see the newly added MasterNode with a status of MISSING. Run the following command, in order to enable it: startmasternode alias false MN1 In this ^ case, the alias of my MasterNode was MN1, in your case, it might be different. 3. Verify that the MasterNode is enabled and contributing to the network. Give it a few minutes and go to the Linux VPS console() and check the status of the masternode with this command: shekel-cli masternode status If you see status Masternode successfully started, you've done it, congratulations. Go hug someone now :) It will take a few hours until the first rewards start coming in. Instead, if you get status Masternode not found in the list of available masternodes, you need a bit more patience. Distributed systems take a bit of time to reach consensus. Restarting the wallets and retrying the start has been reported to help by community members. This is how you restart the Linux wallet from the CLI: shekel-cli stop wait 30 seconds or so for the wallet to gracefully stop and then start it again shekeld Rerun the startmasternode command again in the Qt (Cold) wallet. The masternode debug log (/root/.shekel/debug.log) will contain this line on a successful activation: 2018-02-02 02:07:12 CActiveMasternode::EnableHotColdMasterNode() - Enabled! You may shut down the cold daemon. You can watch the log as it's being written by using this command: tail -f /root/.shekel/debug.log Stop watching the log by pressing CTRL+C As the log entry says, your MasterNode is up and running and the hot wallet that holds the collateral can be closed without impacting the operation of the MasterNode in the network. You should now be able to see your MasterNode(s) on this web page: http://shekel.mn.zone Cheers !

You should now be able to see your MasterNode(s) on this web page: http://shekel.mn.zone Cheers !

titleSCORECOIN MASTERNODE COMPLETE SETUP ON VULTR VPS
bodyThe VPS provider give the user and password to get access to the VPS. 1.1. Initial Setup It is need to the the VPS up to date, to get this: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade 1.2. Create a new user and get more security in SSH connection To create a new user in the VPS with root access permission: adduser score adduser score sudo Change from “root” user to the new user “score”: sudo score Now, we are going to generate keys to SSH connection: ssh-keygen -b 4096 We need to install “nano”: sudo apt-get install nano Go to folder ssh: cd .ssh nano id_rsa.pub )) authorized_keys Now save the private key “id_rsa” to your clients computer so you can authenticate to the server with the SSH Certificate. (You must convert id_rsa to a “.ppk file in order to use the privatekey with Putty). Restart the SSH Server and test if the authentication with the private key works. sudo service ssh restart If it works, edit the SSH config file to disable password authentication & root login. sudo nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config Change following Values in the file: PasswordAuthentication no UsePAM no PermitRootLogin no More info in: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/initial-server-setup-with-ubuntu-16-04 1.3. SWAP Memory configuration In the case the VPS has only 1GB of RAM, we need to create a 2-4GB of SWAP Memory. Before we begin, we will take a look at our operating system to see if we already have some swap space available. We can have multiple swap files or swap partitions, but generally one should be enough. We can see if the system has any configured swap by typing: sudo swapon –s Filename Type Size Used Priority If you only get back the header of the table, as I've shown above, you do not currently have any swap space enabled. Another, more familiar way of checking for swap space is with the free utility, which shows us system memory usage. We can see our current memory and swap usage in Megabytes by typing: free -m Check Available Space on the Hard Drive Partition. The typical way of allocating space for swap is to use a separate partition devoted to the task. However, altering the partitioning scheme is not always possible. We can just as easily create a swap file that resides on an existing partition. Before we do this, we should be aware of our current disk usage. We can get this information by typing: df -h As you can see on the first line, our hard drive partition has 55 Gigabytes available, so we have a huge amount of space to work with. This is on a fresh, medium-sized VPS instance, however, so your actual usage might be very different. Although there are many opinions about the appropriate size of a swap space, it really depends on your personal preferences and your application requirements. Generally, an amount equal to or double the amount of RAM on your system is a good starting point. Since my system has 4 Gigabytes of RAM, and doubling that would take a significant chunk of my disk space that I'm not willing to part with, I will create a swap space of 4 Gigabytes to match my system's RAM. To create the Swap file in the root directory: sudo fallocate -l 4G /swapfile The prompt will be returned to you almost immediately. We can verify that the correct amount of space was reserved by typing: ls -lh /swapfile As you can see, our file is created with the correct amount of space set aside. Now it is need to enable swap file. Right now, our file is created, but our system does not know that this is supposed to be used for swap. We need to tell our system to format this file as swap and then enable it. Before we do that though, we need to adjust the permissions on our file so that it isn't readable by anyone besides root. Allowing other users to read or write to this file would be a huge security risk. We can lock down the permissions by typing: sudo chmod 600 /swapfile Verify that the file has the correct permissions by typing: As you can see, only the columns for the root user have the read and write flags enabled. Now that our file is more secure, we can tell our system to set up the swap space by typing: sudo mkswap /swapfile Our file is now ready to be used as a swap space. We can enable this by typing: sudo swapon /swapfile We have a new swap file here. We can use the free utility again to corroborate our findings: free -m Our swap has been set up successfully and our operating system will begin to use it as necessary. Now, it is need to make this swap file permanent. We have our swap file enabled, but when we reboot, the server will not automatically enable the file. We can change that though by modifying the fstab file. Edit the file with root privileges in your text editor: sudo nano /etc/fstab At the bottom of the file, you need to add a line that will tell the operating system to automatically use the file you created: /swapfile none swap sw 0 0 Save and close the file when you are finished 2.1. Install dependencies In the command line of VPS and with the user created before: sudo apt-get -y install libboost-all-dev sudo apt-get -y install libcrypto++-dev sudo apt-get -y install libqrencode-dev sudo apt-get -y install libminiupnpc-dev sudo apt-get -y install libgmp-dev sudo apt-get -y install libgmp3-dev sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install build-essential sudo apt-get install libssl-dev sudo apt-get install libdb++-dev sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev sudo apt-get install build-essential libtool autotools-dev automake pkg-config libssl-dev libevent-dev bsdmainutils sudo apt-get install libzmq3-dev sudo apt-get install libgmp3-dev sudo apt-get install libboost1.55-all-dev boost1.55 will most likely fail(Not a problem) sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin Now we need to clone the Scorecoin.git, and compile the file: git clone https://github.com/marksteven2017/Scorecoin.git cd /Scorecoin/src/ sudo make -f makefile.unix This process takes some time; we need to wait to finish it. When the process is finished we need to give executable permissions: chmod +x Scored ls –l 2.2. Configure Score coin MN After that we need to configure the “score-conf”: nano $HOME/.Score/Score.conf rpcuser=”Any user” rpcpassword=”Any password” Now, we need to execute the daemon: cd ~/Scorecoin/src$/ ./Scored –daemon Wait until the blockchain is synchronized. To view this information: ./Scored getinfo Once synced, generate the private key. “./Scored masternode genkey” save this key in a notepad because we need later: ./Scored masternode genkey Now we have to stop the daemon: ./Scored stop Update the “score.conf” as rpcuser=(ANY user) rpcpassword=(ANY password) The default port is 17075. Start the daemon again: ./Scored –daemon To get info: ./Scored masternode status 2.3. Configure Firewall to allow the correct ports To get more security in the VPS: sudo ufw app list We need to make sure that the firewall allows SSH connections so that we can log back in next time. We can allow these connections by typing: sudo ufw allow OpenSSH Afterwards, we can enable the firewall by typing: sudo ufw enable To allow the port of Scorecoin MN: sudo ufw allow 17075 sudo ufw enable sudo ufw status Status: active To Action From -- ------ ---- 22 ALLOW Anywhere 17075 ALLOW Anywhere 22 (v6) ALLOW Anywhere (v6) 17075 (v6) ALLOW Anywhere (v6) 5. Configure Windows Cold Wallet We need to generate a new address for MN: Send 25000 Score coins to this new address be sure to have a few extra coins in your wallet for the fees. The exact amount of 25000 coins is required for the masternode. Meanwhile, you have to edit your “score.conf” file which is in “%appdata%“. Open the file with notepad and filled with: rpcuser=(any user) rpcpassword=(any user) rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 listen=1 server=1 daemon=1 staking=0 logtimestamps=1 Close the windows wallet and start again. Once the transactions of 25000 Score coins reach more than 15 confirmations, go to wallet, in debug console: And type “masternode outputs”: You will get trx hash like this: “aa7c6c173f7b691e5a070a37aeazd23557636ad1b4b43680ace39d522e1d4493” “1” . The first part is your transaction hash, the “1” is the index. In case you did multiple transactions, you will get a list. Save this values in a text file. Now we are going to configure the Masternode. Go to Score wallet, go to MN tab and click in create a new one: It will be appearing a window like this: It needs to fill using the following date got before: a) Alias - (any name eg MN1) b) Address - (VPS IP and PORT )  X.X.X.X:17075 c) Privkey - ( private key generated on VPS) d) TX hash - (the hash generated on windows wallet) e) Txid -( the second part generated on windows wallet, either 0 or 1) The last boxes will leave in blanck. Press OK to save this and unlock the wallet before start the MN: In the tab of My Master Nodes, click on Start All: You get the message: “Masternode successfully started”. The MN will be appearing in the Score Network Masternode, take into account it takes some time to sycn: Your MN is fully configured.

(You must convert id_rsa to a “.ppk file in order to use the privatekey with Putty).\nRestart the SSH Server and test if the authentication with the private key works.\nsudo service ssh restart\n\nIf it works, edit the SSH config file to disable password authentication & root login.\nsudo nano /etc/ssh/sshd_config\n\nChange following Values in the file:\nPasswordAuthentication no\nUsePAM no\nPermitRootLogin no\n\nMore info in: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/initial-server-setup-with-ubuntu-16-04\n\n\n1.3.\tSWAP Memory configuration\nIn the case the VPS has only 1GB of RAM, we need to create a 2-4GB of SWAP Memory.\n\nBefore we begin, we will take a look at our operating system to see if we already have some swap space available. We can have multiple swap files or swap partitions, but generally one should be enough.\n\nWe can see if the system has any configured swap by typing:\nsudo swapon –s\nFilename Type Size Used Priority\n\nIf you only get back the header of the table, as I've shown above, you do not currently have any swap space enabled.\n\nAnother, more familiar way of checking for swap space is with the free utility, which shows us system memory usage. We can see our current memory and swap usage in Megabytes by typing:\nfree -m\n\n \n\nCheck Available Space on the Hard Drive Partition.\n\nThe typical way of allocating space for swap is to use a separate partition devoted to the task. However, altering the partitioning scheme is not always possible. We can just as easily create a swap file that resides on an existing partition.\n\nBefore we do this, we should be aware of our current disk usage. We can get this information by typing:\ndf -h\t\n \nAs you can see on the first line, our hard drive partition has 55 Gigabytes available, so we have a huge amount of space to work with. This is on a fresh, medium-sized VPS instance, however, so your actual usage might be very different.\n\nAlthough there are many opinions about the appropriate size of a swap space, it really depends on your personal preferences and your application requirements. Generally, an amount equal to or double the amount of RAM on your system is a good starting point.\n\nSince my system has 4 Gigabytes of RAM, and doubling that would take a significant chunk of my disk space that I'm not willing to part with, I will create a swap space of 4 Gigabytes to match my system's RAM.\n\nTo create the Swap file in the root directory:\nsudo fallocate -l 4G /swapfile\n\nThe prompt will be returned to you almost immediately. We can verify that the correct amount of space was reserved by typing:\nls -lh /swapfile\n\n \nAs you can see, our file is created with the correct amount of space set aside.\n\nNow it is need to enable swap file.\nRight now, our file is created, but our system does not know that this is supposed to be used for swap. We need to tell our system to format this file as swap and then enable it.\n\nBefore we do that though, we need to adjust the permissions on our file so that it isn't readable by anyone besides root. Allowing other users to read or write to this file would be a huge security risk. We can lock down the permissions by typing:\nsudo chmod 600 /swapfile\n\nVerify that the file has the correct permissions by typing:\n \nAs you can see, only the columns for the root user have the read and write flags enabled.\nNow that our file is more secure, we can tell our system to set up the swap space by typing:\nsudo mkswap /swapfile\n\n \nOur file is now ready to be used as a swap space. We can enable this by typing:\nsudo swapon /swapfile\n \nWe have a new swap file here. We can use the free utility again to corroborate our findings:\nfree -m\n\n \nOur swap has been set up successfully and our operating system will begin to use it as necessary.\n\nNow, it is need to make this swap file permanent. \nWe have our swap file enabled, but when we reboot, the server will not automatically enable the file. We can change that though by modifying the fstab file.\n\nEdit the file with root privileges in your text editor:\nsudo nano /etc/fstab\n\nAt the bottom of the file, you need to add a line that will tell the operating system to automatically use the file you created:\n\t\t/swapfile none swap sw 0 0\n\nSave and close the file when you are finished\n\n\n2.1.\tInstall dependencies\nIn the command line of VPS and with the user created before:\nsudo apt-get -y install libboost-all-dev\nsudo apt-get -y install libcrypto++-dev \nsudo apt-get -y install libqrencode-dev \nsudo apt-get -y install libminiupnpc-dev \nsudo apt-get -y install libgmp-dev \nsudo apt-get -y install libgmp3-dev \n\nsudo apt-get update\nsudo apt-get install build-essential\nsudo apt-get install libssl-dev\nsudo apt-get install libdb++-dev\nsudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev\nsudo apt-get install build-essential libtool autotools-dev automake pkg-config libssl-dev libevent-dev bsdmainutils\n\nsudo apt-get install libzmq3-dev\nsudo apt-get install libgmp3-dev\nsudo apt-get install libboost1.55-all-dev\n\nboost1.55 will most likely fail(Not a problem)\nsudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin\n\nNow we need to clone the Scorecoin.git, and compile the file:\ngit clone https://github.com/marksteven2017/Scorecoin.git\ncd /Scorecoin/src/\nsudo make -f makefile.unix\nThis process takes some time; we need to wait to finish it. When the process is finished we need to give executable permissions:\nchmod +x Scored\nls –l\n\n\n2.2.\tConfigure Score coin MN\nAfter that we need to configure the “score-conf”:\nnano $HOME/.Score/Score.conf\n\trpcuser=”Any user”\n\trpcpassword=”Any password”\n\nNow, we need to execute the daemon:\ncd ~/Scorecoin/src$/\n./Scored –daemon\n \nWait until the blockchain is synchronized. To view this information:\n\t\t./Scored getinfo\n \n\n\n\nOnce synced, generate the private key. “./Scored masternode genkey” save this key in a notepad because we need later:\n./Scored masternode genkey\n\n \nNow we have to stop the daemon:\n./Scored stop\n\nUpdate the “score.conf” as rpcuser=(ANY user) rpcpassword=(ANY password)\n\n \n\nThe default port is 17075.\n\nStart the daemon again:\n./Scored –daemon\n \nTo get info:\n./Scored masternode status\n \n\n\n2.3.\tConfigure Firewall to allow the correct ports\nTo get more security in the VPS:\nsudo ufw app list\n\n \nWe need to make sure that the firewall allows SSH connections so that we can log back in next time. We can allow these connections by typing:\nsudo ufw allow OpenSSH\n\nAfterwards, we can enable the firewall by typing:\nsudo ufw enable\n \nTo allow the port of Scorecoin MN:\nsudo ufw allow 17075\nsudo ufw enable\n\nsudo ufw status\nStatus: active\n\nTo Action From\n-- ------ ----\n22 ALLOW Anywhere \n17075 ALLOW Anywhere \n22 (v6) ALLOW Anywhere (v6) \n17075 (v6) ALLOW Anywhere (v6) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n5.\tConfigure Windows Cold Wallet\n\nWe need to generate a new address for MN:\n \nSend 25000 Score coins to this new address be sure to have a few extra coins in your wallet for the fees. The exact amount of 25000 coins is required for the masternode.\n\nMeanwhile, you have to edit your “score.conf” file which is in “%appdata%“. Open the file with notepad and filled with:\nrpcuser=(any user) \nrpcpassword=(any user) \nrpcallowip=127.0.0.1 \nlisten=1 \nserver=1 \ndaemon=1 \nstaking=0 \nlogtimestamps=1\n\nClose the windows wallet and start again.\nOnce the transactions of 25000 Score coins reach more than 15 confirmations, go to wallet, in debug console:\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnd type “masternode outputs”:\n \nYou will get trx hash like this:\n“aa7c6c173f7b691e5a070a37aeazd23557636ad1b4b43680ace39d522e1d4493” “1” . \nThe first part is your transaction hash, the “1” is the index.
