Driving to the office this morning, I sat behind the wheel enjoying the honking of impatient drivers and the cursing of some silly ones. Amidst all the noise, I somehow managed to shut out all the noise and tried to focus on getting to the office. My focus got broken when I noticed two drivers impatiently trying to get into line ahead of the other. The guy in the green vehicle finally got in. The other guy in the black vehicle honked loudly and I thought that was it. When the traffic got free, the black vehicle raved up to the green vehicle and brushed his side mirror off and kept stepping on the gas without slowing down. Ahead was a young boy crossing the road to the other side. All he had was his back pack on his back and the black car kept raving knocked him down! It all happened so fast!!! The picture still sends shivers down my spine as I recall. I think only a miracle will save him . Other drivers who had observed the drama between the two drivers chased the hit and run vehicle. Well, I had to take the turn off the main street to my office. What I learnt as I ponder on the sad event is that some things are just not worth it. Patience and forgiveness are golden in life. Some people get stuff by scrambling and fighting others for them, while some just patiently wait to have it come and gain much more. Wisdom is principal in everything and timing is key in life. My advice: Know when to step on the gas and when to hit the brakes!

bodyorphan-1139042_960_720.jpg I have been involved in humanitarian and philanthropic activities on my own for a while now. Basically, I am concerned in areas that concern families, Children, abused/vulnerable women, singles and mental health. About two months ago, I could not go to the office because my little daughter was ill. So after giving her some medication which were prescribed at the hospital, she slept and I had some "me time". I hadn't written so much on the book I have been working on when there was a soft knock on my door. I sluggishly opened it only to find a little girl on my poach. She was between 9 and 11 years. She asked me for some house chores in exchange for food or money. She was frail, pale and lanky. She had an empty plastic bucket in one hand and an old fabric of about 36cm in the other hand.( If you are an African or have studied Africans, you know that they roll up fabric to place or carry heavy stuff on their head). I began interrogating her. She said she had gone out to sell water in sachets (This is drinking water consumed by average persons in society). I asked her if she was in school and she said yes. But she could not return home without some tangible cash to help her mother. She Said Her daddy had swollen prostate and had been bedridden for weeks. Survival has been almost impossible because her mother had to sit home to carry her husband around or clean him up. Surgery is his ONLY saving grace and his family cannot afford a meal talk more of paying hospital bills. I took a closer look at this poor child who never asked to be born into this and has been saddled with the responsibility of a bread winner at a tender age. I looked intently at her tear stained face for some time not knowing what to say or do but I knew I had to do something. She was hungry, confused and in a vulnerable position. A girl like her could be taken advantage of in exchange for "peanuts". We later visited her family and saw her parents. Their case is pathetic. All the children work to put food on the table except the little son who is only two years old! We have been able to give them some foodstuff and a few materials. But that won't go far! Today I sit at my desk, reflecting on the year and how much God has helped me achieve. I think on how fortunate I am to be able to afford 3 meals, provide clothes for my kids and have some to give out too. I just feel thankful for everything I have been through. I may not be perfect, the year may not have been as perfect as I had planned, but I am not unfortunate or in the worst of places. I want you to know that Your life may not have turned out how you planned, you may have made mistakes, you may have been hurt but your best is just around the corner. Someone somewhere is willing and ready to do anything to be in your place. Be thankful and watch your best days come.

bodyOOps! I think I flashed forward! I joined this amazing community last month by my colleague leczy, and immediately began posting articles. I was extremely excited that I forgot to Introduce myself (I apologise for that). I am a simple African lady from Nigeria. I am a relationship coach and I am into charity. My purpose here is to share ideas and get lots of likes so I can use the funds to help pay medical bills of some people, send children to school and put food in a few stomachs. I love adventure, travelling and meeting people. One of the many things I want to do is travel the world, see clear blue waters, taste different foods and experience many cultures. I am also fascinated by human psychology, art and fashion. I hope I can meet people with similar interests and make great friends here.

Recently, a mix has been developed by the younger more vibrant artists to include hip hop and a little of rock to the old spice. Nigerian kind of entertainment has gone past the shores of Africa and is now enjoyed by many non-African countries. Nigerian dance style is quite energetic with a lot of swaying of hips and body movement. It's quite a lot of exercise you gonna love! So next time you get bored, want to have fun, in need of adventure or looking for a honeymoon destination, make sure its NIGERIA!

body## Am I in a Healthy Marriage? ![f6b3d4d1f1bf994d06d75479a3e824ec.jpg] (https://steemitimages.com/DQmbXbmPfXHM43DVYdNypoAWRxHCMCz693UBignvFXcF4GS/f6b3d4d1f1bf994d06d75479a3e824ec.jpg). Like your health, marriage can be healthy or unhealthy. How can you tell if you are in a healthy marriage? Here are four ways to spot a healthy marriage. 1. FRIENDSHIP A friend is someone whom you enjoy being with. Someone whom you share your pains, sorrows, and joys with. A friend is someone who has got your back anytime and will always be there every time you call. One of the greatest benefits of marriage is having your spouse as your best friend. However, it is sad that many marriages today face not just the problem of physical disconnection, but also emotional disconnection. Spouses keep secrets from each other, hide the actual digits they earn and digits in their bank accounts, demand for gifts at the expense of their spouse's pocket or integrity. Building friendship in marriage takes time and effort but has rewarding benefits. Being friends with your spouse creates safety void of emotional and physical fear, it builds trust, it helps you both overcome the storms of life and ensures a lasting marriage. SIGNS OF A HEALTHY MARRIAGE 2. FORGIVENESS Many times in the journey of marriage, couples say hurtful words or do things the other least expects of them. One thing to note in marriage is that, you are married to a human being not an angel. A human who is liable to hurt you and be hurt by you. To move on, you MUST forgive. I know couples who now suffer illnesses which cannot be traced. The bottom line of this is harbouring hurts and nursing them could blow up to terminal illness. Every time I nursed something my husband did to me, I realize each time I have an ulcer attack. There are risks on your health when you do not forgive. In addition, you cannot access the throne of God in prayers with an unclean heart. Forgiveness does not mean you numb the pain or act like it does not exist. Forgiveness is also, not forgetting the offence. Forgiveness is not inflicting pain on the offender for the offence. Forgiveness is not for the other, it is for you! It is for your health, for your sanity and for your spiritual growth. When you forgive it must come from within you. When you say you have forgiven and have truly not, you lie and thus have sinned. Satan holds you down and weakens you when you do not forgive. Forgiveness is a sign of maturity and godliness. So how can you forgive? 1. Know that forgiveness is a choice and not a feeling. When you realize this you can consciously make up your mind to forgive your spouse rather than wait for the "feeling" to come. 2. Talk about it with your spouse. If you cannot do it alone, get a marriage counsellor or a pastor or someone in the best position to help you open up and unburden your heart. 3.Determine to change, set things right and work towards it. 4. Stop recounting the moment. Some people have a talent of replaying the past and reminding you of how badly you acted on xyz day, at ABC time when you were wearing 123 dress and had this hair do or that colour of lipstick!!! STOP REPLAYING THE MOVIE! 5. Give yourself time to heal 3. TRUST Trust is vital for the existence of any marriage or relationship. Without trust it is impossible to have a real marriage void of deception, uncertainty, insecurity or fear. Trust should be top priority in marriage. Do not assume that ignorance is bliss, and on that basis tell "a little white lie" once in a while or keep secrets believing that what you don't know cannot hurt you. Couples should be open to each other and bare open their hearts to one another. To build trust in your marriage, 1. Be honest with each other 2. Stop the deception and lies 3. Know that trust is given to trustworthy people therefore live right to keep your Spouse's trust 4. Communicate how you feel and your needs as best possible 5. Trust is not baked in a microwave oven. Give it time! 6. Pray and trust the Holy Spirit to help you trust one another Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! -Proverbs 3:5-7 (The Message) 4 INTIMACY Some people have defined this as INTO ME SEE! That's beautifully simple and nothing more! I would define it in simple easy to remember words: closeness, warmth, friendly, lovemaking The basis for any marriage should primarily be for intimacy and companionship. Couples who have put other reason as priority have many times ended feeling upset, dissatisfied and frustrated. How would you define your relationship with your spouse? How intimate are you with your spouse? Many marriages have ended sadly for this simple reason. Intimacy in many marriages today has become a chore, an obligation rather than a feeling of joy and pleasure. Couples who have a healthy intimate life, are open, vulnerable to one another, trust and share with each other. Intimacy can be categorized into: I) Emotional intimacy: Here couples are open to each other. They share their joys as well as sorrows. This is a point of vulnerability with each other. ii) Intellectual Intimacy: This is a moment where you and your spouse have debates on politics, sports, art, music or some other topic which interests you. You may cuddle on the couch with hot cups of tea on a rainy day, reading out to each other a book or making some research together on the internet. It could also be attending a function together that stir up your minds. iii) Spiritual Intimacy: Studying God's word, praying for each other, that's connecting intimately spiritually! I have noticed each time my husband and I pray holding each other, there is a difference in my spirit, my mind and my body than when we just pray sitting in the north and he sitting or kneeling in the south. So next time you pray, Pray for each other holding hands, cuddling, kneeling, whatever... just be connected physically and in the spirit. iv) Physical Intimacy: This could be making love, caressing, kissing or a sexy massage. This is the point where you want to stir up the happy juices of love making and Oxytocin. Intimacy goes beyond just sex and love making! Deep intimacy can also come without words! it can be in form of hugging, holding hands and walking, sharing glances, dancing or doing chores together. You are not perfect neither is your spouse. Each time you fall, you both need to reach into your love tank and refuel your relationship. Love is not perfect but becomes perfect when you forgive and seek forgiveness.
