So much so that the Rotten Tomatoes fan ratings wildly differ from that of the critics and labels the film 'rotten'. Rotten Tomatoes isn't the be all and end all of critique but it does showcase the disparity between voiceful fans and critics.\n\nI still haven't seen the film but I really hope that the averse reaction from fans is more that the unexpected direction has thrown their assumptions completely and shaken their concept of the franchise rather than that the film is actually poorly made. I'm watching it on Boxing Day and am intrigued on how Rian Johnson has tinkered with Star Wars so much that the fans are up in arms; perhaps he went to shock and stepped over the line... and perhaps that was always the plan so that Episode 9 could end this saga with a gleeful bang... fingers are crossed!",
