We already wrote, in part 2 of the series, how with the help of one “puncture” it was possible to “rob” a lot of traders engaged in margin trading, who placed stop-loss (hereinafter simply — stops). But if in that situation the execution of orders stop-loss occurred as a result of one major manipulation, then in the “swing” method, this is done by a number of transactions over a long period.\n\nIn the stops there is nothing bad, this is the right tool for managing the risk of an open position, but if the manipulator interferes with the matter, then the stops become the enemy of the crowd. How to set a stop decides each for himself, someone is using methods of technical analysis of the market, levels of support and resistance, someone simply puts stops just below or above the price of buying/selling, someone operates with intuition, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. A manipulator is just a big player who has such a resource (money) that allows him to move the price of an asset to the right side or keep the asset at the right level while making sales/purchases. Everything depends on the market, the liquidity of the asset, its price and quantity.\n\nFor example, John issued his coins in the amount of 100 pieces at a price of 1 dollar apiece and brought them to the stock exchange. All coins belong to John, and he and his friends begin to resell them to each other, pushing the price up to 2, 5, 10 dollars. John is a manipulator specifically in this coin, he can move it as he wants and where he wants. The only problem is that nobody needs the coin and John s going out of business.\n\nBitcoin, Ethereum and other popular coins with a capitalization of tens of billions of dollars are very different story. There in a role of a manipulator can be an investment fund, just a large investor, Vitalik Buterin :), etc., those who have the same tens of billions of dollars. For this they use various techniques and algorithms of psychological impact:\nPuncture — a sharp and very strong price movement in any direction, with a rapid subsequent recovery.\n\nA vivid example of such manipulation was the collapse of Ethereum on the GDAX exchange on June 21, 2017, when the price dropped to the level of $ 0.1 per coin. Of course, the exchange said that it was a technical failure, but it’s hard to believe. This exchange provided loans to its participants in the marginal trade, was aware of all the positions of its customers and their level of the debt burden. Firstly the fall of the asset to almost 0 led to the massive margin-call of those who used to trade borrowed funds and, consequently, to automatically sell all their assets, and secondly to the triggering of stop-losses for those who were reinsured from falling prices and again selling all of their assets. They are already here and ready to gladly take your money away by sophisticated methods of market manipulation.</p>\n<p>Market manipulation is essentially the organization of the movement of an asset in a direction set by manipulator. He can force small investors to sell everything or buy up an asset, it depends on his desire and strategy.</p>\n<p>There are several ways of market manipulations: by news background and by technical receptions or a combination of these methods.</p>\n<p><strong>News manipulation:</strong> it is a game of rumors about some events that significantly affect the future of an asset (coin).       "body": "<html>\n<p>The sharp growth of the crypto-currency in the last few years has attracted to the market a lot of inexperienced players who want to get rich just like the lucky ones who invested in Ethereum and other crypto-currencies in late 2016 — early 2017, and multiplied their fortunes several dozen times.</p>\n<p><img src=\"https://imgp.golos.io/0x0/http://fidcom.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/oshibki.jpg\" width=\"530\" height=\"313\"/></p>\n<p>The probability of repeating the same scenario in any currency is certainly there, but in the opinion of Fidcom specialists in the near future it is very small and more like a chance to win the lottery.Investment trading is quite a complicated process, and therefore new investors should be extremely cautious in case of trading by himself.First of all, think over why and for how long you want to invest, because it directly depends on how much time you will have to pay to trade. Medium-term and long-term investment implies the principle of “buy and hold” for a period at least a year and more, whereas in the case of short-term trading, deals can be made hundreds of times a day. Sure, both strategies have the right to exist, but in the current market realities, its prospects and volatility, in our view, the least risky model is long-term investment.Let’s analyze several typical mistakes of beginning investors:</p>\n<blockquote><em>1. Trade by borrowed or last money.</em></blockquote>\n<p>Many peoples invest in trade their last savings or even borrowed funds, in the hope of quick profits. This is not so, crypto-currencies are extremely volatile for many reasons and can both grow by 100% and fall to zero. If investments were your last money, then if necessary, you will be forced to reduce your portfolio at a loss and it will not be possible to restore it. Invest only what you don’t need in the near future or what you are ready to lose.</p>\n<blockquote><em>2. Don’t store all eggs in one basket.</em></blockquote>\n<p>In the world of crypto-currency, this principle is particularly relevant, since few people can 100% identify and calculate any real financial indicators of a project and, accordingly, make the right choice. Diversification of the portfolio is mandatory, including on different wallets and exchanges!</p>\n<blockquote><em>3. Fear of loss.</em></blockquote>\n<p>No one can choose exactly the right entry point. The probability of drawdown of your portfolio exists always, and you should be ready to endure it if you believe in your choice, rather than rush to sell and buy those or other assets. Set a tolerable level of drawdown for yourself and monitor it. At the same time, the level of tolerable losses must be determined with due regard for the duration of your investments. The longer the term, the greater the drawdown you must afford to endure. If you have made the right choice of asset, then don’t worry, because in time the price will be much higher.</p>\n<blockquote><em>4. Crowd effect.</em></blockquote>\n<p>Remember that the crowd is often irrational, but it is who, with the exception of individual cases, forms a trend on the market. Watch the trend, but don’t follow it thoughtlessly. Always analyze what is happening and make a decision based on clear facts. If you see a sharp increase in one crypto-currency, think carefully, maybe it too late to invest in this asset. After selling your assets that have not yet grown up and then invest it in a rapidly growing “promising” currency, you can suddenly lose everything when the explosive growth stops and the price goes down. Just as you don’t need to quickly drop your falling assets, the situation can change dramatically, and you will lost again. Technologically, the management process does not have flaws, excesses or bureaucratic delays.
