Faced with recent declarations and promises of Trump's campaign, BBC Brazil lists eight things that could potentially change after Trump took office and assumed US command.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>1. Changes in the world's largest military alliance</p>\n<p>President-elect has long criticized the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the world's largest military alliance, which is headed by the United States and seen as one of the pillars of US foreign policy for more than 60 years.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Trump has already stated that NATO is obsolete and has described its members as ungrateful allies who have benefited from US generosity. Closer US relations with Russia</p>\n<p>Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Donald Trump and admiration seems to be mutual.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>During the election campaign, the United States ranked Putin as a strong leader with whom he would like to have a good relationship.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>That was, however, before US intelligence came to the conclusion that Russia was responsible for hacking Democratic Party emails during the election campaign. Warming the climate in the Far East</p>\n<p>Before even taking office, the Donald Trump government already raised important security issues in Asia.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Future Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has spoken of blocking China's access to the artificial islands being built by the Chinese in a disputed sea area with Japan in the South China Sea. Tillerson's statements triggered warnings for potential \"military conflicts,\" according to a state newspaper.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Japan and South Korea were identified by Trump as over-reliant countries in the United States. The president-elect said that these two countries would benefit if they had their own nuclear arsenals.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>North Korea is developing its own nuclear weapons, and Trump will have to confront those ambitions, something his predecessors have not been able to prevent. It is unclear what Trump can and will do, but he set out to negotiate directly with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>But in response to a recent announcement by Kim that North Korea was about to test long-range missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads, Trump said on Twitter that it simply \"will not happen.\"</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Trump may even have a strategy in mind, not yet revealed. But the most unpredictable US president ever elected to negotiate with the most unpredictable country in the world makes the US-North Korea relationship a potential hot spot in the coming years.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>8. Farewell to climate agreements</p>\n<p>Donald Trump said he would \"cancel\" the Paris climate deal in the first 100 days of his term and intend to do everything possible to reverse President Obama's climate change regulations.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Trump has denied repeating the scientific argument that man is largely responsible for climate change on the planet, classifying such an assertion as \"fiction.\"</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>However, as in many other issues, Trump expressed contradictory views on the subject. Certainly a lot have been affected by the “murderous” year of 2016 with all those famous celebrities passing on especially in the closing months of it. But now there come the sad tidings of another death, this time in the realm of science, particularly space exploration. Former #NASA astronaut #Gene Cernan, commander of the last Apollo lunar mission, 17, and also the last man to set foot on and walk on the #moon, has died at the age of 82.\n\nA dwindling club\nOn Monday January 16, close to a month after incoming President Donald Trump dropped hints at his interest of seeing a renewed period of NASA lunar exploration, Cernan died of ongoing health issues, according to a family statement that was publicized by spokesman Bob Jacobs. I should be remembered that Apollo 17’s lunar module landed on the moon in December 14 of 1972, and Cernan was the last one down the LM, entitling him as the last of 12 astronauts to walk upon the surface of the moon. He also earned a great deal of public affection towards the end of his moonwalk, when he bend down and traced the initials of his daughter and only child before climbing back in the LM for the return trip. As of his passing only six of these brave and celebrated remain alive today.\n\nCernan would recall his time spent on the moon in the middle of an oral history he was narrating back in 2007. He spoke of his reluctance to leave even, describing the final lunar mission as “perhaps the brightest moment of my life…It’s like you would want to freeze that moment and take it home with you. But you can’t.” It was this feeling that spurred him to spend the next decades lobbying for the government to fun NASA for a new moon mission, only to resign himself to the thought that the next astronauts to leave footsteps on the lunar surface – his own have remained unchanged since – would come after his time.\n\nTalk of return\nThe passing of Gene Cernan has for a time once again reignited discussion of a renewed drive for NASA, or even private space agencies to return man to the moon. In fact, some quarters are criticizing the current agenda of SpaceX founder Elon Musk who is focusing on a Mars mission instead. A Martian colony that Musk is advocating has been seen as a jumping the gun of sorts, and proponents are calling for the establishment of a manned lunar outpost first.",
