      "body": "Hygiene promotion \nThis is a planned, systematic approach that enable people to take action to prevent water, sanitation and hygiene-related diseases.\n\nHygiene promotion should aim;\n\n•\tto reduce the incidence of poor hygiene practices and conditions that pose the greatest risk to the health of children, women and men.\n\n•       make sure that people make the best use of the water,sanitation and hygiene-enabling facilities and services provided.\n\nThese could be done through;\n \n•\tsharing of information and knowledge( which am here to do)\n•\tmobilizing affected communities\n•\tproviding essential materials and facilities.\n \n\n One of the principles of hygiene promotion is;\n\n•\tFocus on a small number of risk practices. Because changing habits is not easy, an assessment should be made to understand which risk practices are most widespread, and which can be changed. Due to the hot and humid climate our hand has oil secretions which makes it conducive for germs to grow. So failure to perform appropriate hand hygeine will be considered a route for direct transmission of disease.\n\n![IMG_20180510_213435.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmT5E2x47YJ8d3vc6dSbjrqdwf9DXGfVqCxd7jGWvr7Afc/IMG_20180510_213435.jpg)\nHand washing before and after going to the toilet.\n\nHow to control  or measures to prevent the transmission of diseases from hands  \n\n1) Keep finger nails always clean.\n\n2) Keep finger nails always trimmed or  short.\n\n3) Use soap for hand washing before and after eating.\n\n4) Use soap for hand washing after visiting latrine.\n\n5) Use soap for hand washing before any food preparation is carried out\n\nOther hygeine promotion practices include;\n\n1) feet/foot\n2) teeth/tooth\n3) respiratory hygeine etc.\n\nI will be elaborating on each of them in my next post.\n\nFOR PUBLIC HEALTH PRACTITIONERS LIKE ME\n\n  How can we plan a successful promotion campaign???\n\n\n•\tSet a goal.  \nThe goal will usually be to improve the quality of life (or to reduce the loss of life).\n\n•\tIdentify hygiene problems.\n These should have been identified by your initial assessment. \n\n\n•\tIdentify key behaviours linked to the problems.  \nThese could relate to activities such as handwashing or excreta disposal but could equally be related to a poor understanding of technology, or wrong attitudes to gender issues or the environment. \n\n•\tDetermine the cause of the problems.  \nThe more accurately the causes can be identified the easier it will be to target the campaign.\n\n\n•\tPrioritize actions.  \nDecide which problems to target first. This will depend on balancing the priorities for improving health with available resources.\n\n•\tDevelop a strategy.  \nDecide which methods and tools you intend to use.\n\n  EFFECTIVE TOOLS TO BE USED;\n\n•\tRadio broadcasts.  \nAn effective method of reaching a large number of people quickly. They should be brief, informative and entertaining. \n\n•\tPublic address systems. \nThese can be used instead of radio broadcasts if the area to be covered is small or radios are unavailable. Use loudspeakers in key locations or a mobile system attached to a slow-moving vehicle. \n\n\n•\tPosters.  \nPosters can be quickly and easily prepared, preferably in collaboration with the community. The main message should be displayed in the pictures, backed up by a few simple words in the local language. \n\n•\tDrama and street theatre.  Drama is a powerful way of getting messages across. A simple story with exaggerated characters and plenty of audience participation is ideal.\n\n\n•\tPuppet shows and games. \nPuppet shows and games are an excellent form of communication when the target group is children. Highly interactive entertainment is likely to be most effective.\n\n•\tSlide, film and video presentations. \n If appropriate visual materials and facilities to show them are readily available they can reach a large audience in a short time.  Their impact can be enhanced by subsequent group discussions highlighting key points conveyed.\n\n•\tFocus group discussions. \nA guided group discussion can improve understanding of current behaviour patterns and the reasons behind them.\n\n•\tOne-to-one discussions and home visits.  This is a time consuming option but very effective where skilled facilitators are used. They can work with individual families to develop specific practices to suit individual needs.\n\nAll of these successfully applied will lead to successful campaign.\nI hope this post helps alot of people.\nShare and resteem and upvote too.       "body": "CHARGE YOUR CHARGER NEW TECHNOLOGY BY NWAMADI FAVOUR\n\nI have never read this anywere \nneither have I seen it any were.\nthis inspiration came in whilist charging my phone and there was disruption in electricity... I needed to really charge my phone because I needed to use it for an important online transaction. \n\n  I use Gionee M5 marathon phone which is powerbank on its own. hardly can you see a powerbank that charged this phone. if you get its very slow even worse it drains your battery rather than give you any.\n\nback to my story. so when the light went of I hoped and prayed for my phone to keep charging at least get it to 10% so I can use it.... but how was that possible???  and then I THOUGHT this could actually be possible if only my charger could be charged while charging my phone.\nhow do I mean??? \n\nyou know you can charge your phone through your powerbank even while charging your powerbank.. 2nd hand charging. but that is not encouraged because it could kill your phone battery slowly.\n\nwhat am saying is if you could charge both your phone and your charger firsthand then our phones are safe. \nIf your charger is able to retain power and at the same time charge your phone\n all you need do when electricity is off is simply to switch to retained charge and continue charging your phone. If you plug your cord to your phone it is still charging firsthand ie you normal charging..\n   Now assuming\n\n1) there is light and both your phone and \n       charger is down: \n     You can put the switch in the middle.
