      "body": "Hello and welcome to everyone! It's been a very long time since I have posted anything here but now I'm finally back and am excited to start posting again. The reason for that is a wedding in my family. At first, I had planned a lot of content to post during the wedding week and let everyone know how Pakistani weddings are but I underestimated my schedule as I had no free time. The hardest part was attending to all the relatives who had traveled to our house to attend the wedding. My sleeping and eating schedule had been completely ruined and I had no sense of time. Despite being very tired, I had to cater the guests and it was very hard on me. \n\nhttps://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmVLiGZ2rJ3ymygVRHAYaVveJhoQzrkC2goh2mfkaAJAHg/Screenshot_20211231-172308_Gallery.jpg\n\nHowever, the wedding went so smoothly and it seems unreal to me as I had been waiting for the wedding for almost a year. It went by drastically and even now it seems like a dream. The venues were absolutely lavish with mind blowing decorations and absolutely delicious food. \n\nInstead of going into details about each and every event, I will give my own perception on all the functions starting with Nikka. In Nikka, the couple signs the marriage certificate. The ceremony was small and was held in our house with very little guests. The event is supposed to be a little holy so we held it on Friday as it is a holy day for us Muslims.  After this, the bride and the groom are officially married but they still live in their respective homes.\n\nAfter Nikka comes the Mayun which is optional. Both the groom's side and the bride's side can hold this event. It can also be held as one ceremony but we chose to separate the event. Mayun was also held in our home and a lot of female relatives were invited. The premise of this event is to do small rituals which includes feeding sweets to the bride and also apply turmeric paste or henna to the bride's palm. The mother of the bride also puts on jewelry on the bride. We chose to hold this event together. At a certain time we reached the event where the ceremony would be held. It was a bigger event than I thought it actually be and had a lot of guests attending. Just like Mayun, there's small rituals being done in this event. Both the brie and the groom have Betel leaf in one of their palms and everyone applies henna on it. Similar to the Mayun there's singing and dancing with yet another lavish dinner in the end. It is the official day that the bride leaves her house and moves in with her husband. The event is held on a very big scale and has a lot of people attending. It was a tiring day for me because I had to check up on guests a lot and run around the whole venue to see if everything was in place. The biggest disaster was my heels breaking right at the start of the event. Thankfully, my cousin helped me repair them and their was no issue for the rest of the night. I got very emotional when it was time for the bride to leave and it is very embarrassing to think that I cried in front of so many people. However, the day went by without any issues.\n\nLastly, there is Valima or Reception which was again a mind blowing event. A lot of people attended and the bride and the groom looked magnificent together. I am still suffering and have a hard time sleeping or eating. Everyone in my house were sleeping since it was pretty early in the morning. After  brushing my teeth and taking a quick shower, I made breakfast for myself. I made a fried egg along with a Nutella bread that I had with sliced bananas. The whole meal was extremely delicious but sadly my friend came early to pick me up so I had to finish it  quickly. It was very calm and refreshing and considering my very busy university life, it was very de-stressing. After praying Isha'a, I was about to start making dinner but then my cousin and aunt came home. We spent the next few hours just talking and then we planned on ordering food. We ended up ordering burgers which were extremely delicious. We ordered these from a place that we have never ordered from so it was a big surprise that they were so delicious.\n\nAfter spending some more time talking, my aunt and cousin went back home and we started getting ready to sleep.       "body": "Hello everyone! I have been trying to post weekly nowadays  and after a long time I enjoyed a free day. Then I woke up at 10 a.m. which was pretty late than my usual routine but since I had a day all to myself, I preferred waking up late. My sister made breakfast which was very simple. A roti, chai and egg was what I had.  After having breakfast, along with my sisters, I cleaned up the house a little bit. I am not usually a fan of drinking chai but since I had a headache and Ammi was making chai, I decided to drink a cup too.       "body": "Hello and welcome to all who are reading this! I have been planning to watch Chernobyl for long time now but couldn't make time out for it. Chernobyl was a nuclear power plant and 31 people died as an immediate result of the explosions. Even the names were hard to remember as they were Russian names. The first episode showed the aftermaths of the explosion and also showed the men working within the plant. There was a lot of confusion within the men since it wasn't just the plant exploding but also the core which was impossible to happen. There was a lot of physics used throughout the show  but weirdly it made all sense to me. At least that's what I call it. Plans to make Chernobyl a safe place started. The radiations coming from the plant were extremely deadly and there was no way anyone who encountered those radiations would live any longer than a few weeks. There were random cut scenes of a few people who were involved in the accident which were very heartbreaking to see. Then we were also introduced to Valery Legasov and Boris Scherbina who worked together to stop the radiations from coming out and making Chernobyl safe.\n\n <hr />\nhttps://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaZg8w97ju4oNKL8J7Vh9RNv59WfRn3han8VPWJduUiUg/divider.png\n <hr />\n\n**Episode 3** - *Open Wide, O Earth*\n\n![IMG_20211115_125524.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYpYoV8L3MxsXAjwiLVgTMcQ4nof8DM8su5J9E36hkZnQ/IMG_20211115_125524.jpg)\n\nIntroduction to Ulana Khomyuck was undoubtedly the best part of this show. She is such an icon and even though she was not real and  was based on many people who helped out through the process. She most definitely was the cog that made the whole process spin perfectly. Again the higher ups made me very angry as every decision they made was only to keep up with their reputation rather than thinking of the people who lost their lives. The graphic scenes of the patients in the hospital with their bodies and face completely messed because of the radiation is very traumatizing. The scene where Legasov asks the commander for the permission to kill three men was very chilling too. \n\n <hr />\nhttps://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaZg8w97ju4oNKL8J7Vh9RNv59WfRn3han8VPWJduUiUg/divider.png\n <hr />\n\n**Episode 4** - *The Happiness of All Mankind*\n\n![IMG_20211115_125534.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWjmpxVVKk9RYRa6xbba2Yi13uBL5CssvtrHa1vHiMNgz/IMG_20211115_125534.jpg)\n\nThe name of the episode itself tells the premise of this episode. Ulana and Legasov finally get hold of the idea as to how the core must have exploded but Legasov wasn't willing to tell the truth to the world as it would taint Russia's reputation in front of the world and he would get killed for revealing such secrets. Dyatlov along with Viktor and Fomin undoubtedly were behind the explosion but they kept pleading they were innocent till the end. \n\n <hr />\nhttps://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaZg8w97ju4oNKL8J7Vh9RNv59WfRn3han8VPWJduUiUg/divider.png\n <hr />\n\n**Episode 5** - *Delete*\n\n![20211115_125854.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmYRUhbYTAaS9c8nNbvXTWiUFZs8yCpGirvYWQNE6bTvUQ/20211115_125854.jpg)\n\nThis was the last episode and definitely the saddest. Since Legasov decided to reveal the truth, he was punished by the higher ups for being honest. We also get to know that Boris has fallen ill and has very little time to live. The men behind this whole disaster were only given 10 years in prison which most definitely is not sufficient considering their crimes. Legasov never met Ulana and Boris after leaving the court after revealing the truth. \n\n <hr />\nhttps://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmaZg8w97ju4oNKL8J7Vh9RNv59WfRn3han8VPWJduUiUg/divider.png\n <hr />\n\nAt the end of the show we hear Legasov's narration and it has stuck with me so I would like to share it:\n\n> \"To be a scientist is to be naïve. We are so focused on our search for truth, we fail to consider how few actually want us to find it. But it is always there, whether we see it or not, whether we choose or not. The truth doesn't care about our needs or wants. It doesn't care about our government, our ideologies, our religion. It will lie in wait for all time. And this, at last, is the gift of Chernobyl. Where I once would fear the cost of truth, now I only ask: **What is the cost of lies?**\n\nUndoubtedly, this show was not only informational but also very interesting. Since it only has 5 episodes, I would recommend it to everyone.
