I was bored to tears. I was more advanced than the class in most areas. Today marks my 3 year anniversary of leaving the states for Mexico.\r\n\r\n*November 26, 2016*\r\n\r\nAfter my mother passed away (November 11, 2016) from blood cancer I had nothing left holding me in the states. I had quit my whole life to take care of my mother and my family. Left a good job, the city I was living in, etc. etc.\r\n\r\nI had never been to Mexico! I saw the cheapest spot where my Southwest points could take me and it was Mexico City. I had never even heard of that place before but I was going! Didn't know a word of Spanish either. 🥴\r\n\r\nLittle did I know I would fall in love with the place. And\r\n\r\n1:38  \r\nI just been here Mrs. But I'm in a smaller city now and called Marita which is supposed to be so famous on the beach. So I'm all in my feelings today.\r\n\r\n2:18  \r\nI'm going to have\r\n\r\n2:20  \r\none of my mentors Take me out almost some pizza. This is this this restaurant that has this ridiculous. DQ spread. Oh, I thought it all the time and get a glass of wine, pizza and all that great, but the brain is off the chain.\r\n\r\n2:36  \r\nLike, can I just get the bread? Fuck the pizza. So um,\r\n\r\n2:42  \r\nthat's probably what I'm gonna do. I'm trying I was trying to think of something that my mother likes to eat. And I feel I mean, I can't think of anything. And no she would she would go have a spa day but I'm not in the mood for a spa day.\r\n\r\n2:58  \r\nSo\r\n\r\n3:02  \r\ngo get something to eat test suppose\r\n\r\n3:08  \r\nso yeah this is this is just a bad month for me November and oh shout out to the people that wish me a happy birthday my birthday was on this fix again if you love me send me some coins from donations from the narrow so mu last\r\n\r\n3:22  \r\nI'm so thank you for the birthday wishes and\r\n\r\n3:30  \r\nyeah like I said this is a terrible month like my birthday is on the stakes my mother passed away on the 11th her birthdays on the 19th my father's birthday is on the 27th I left for Mexico on a 26 and then they have Thanksgiving so I'm just November. If I fall off the face of the earth, don't blame me down you cannot blame me for anything.\r\n\r\n4:00  \r\nSo yeah,\r\n\r\n4:02  \r\nI'll be doing a lot of crying celebrating full of damn emotions. So\r\n\r\n4:11  \r\nyesterday I said I was going to talk about\r\n\r\n4:17  \r\nI went to Mexico City.\r\n\r\n4:19  \r\nYou can look at my video of hotel leader, leader, if I'm saying it right, Leah,\r\n\r\n4:30  \r\nwhich is a sex hotel.\r\n\r\n4:33  \r\nBut he got really good reviews on on all the websites Oh, hey, what the hell so basically a sex hotel is you rented by well this one you run it six, six hours at a time I think it was 280 pesos. It's like\r\n\r\n4:51  \r\nfat like maybe 13 $14 or so $14 or so. So you rent it for six hours and you get your freak down.\r\n\r\n5:00  \r\nA lot of people especially when you're young, you know you got roommates and shit. So they want to use hotel rooms and get free go.\r\n\r\n5:08  \r\nSo\r\n\r\n5:11  \r\nit was clean, it was safe. It was in a very nice neighborhood. I enjoy the neighborhood if if I ever\r\n\r\n5:17  \r\nmove back to Mexico, Mexico City and the near future, I wouldn't mind living in that neighborhood instead of my old neighborhood. It's right by a train station buses\r\n\r\n5:29  \r\nactually took the bus to my old neighborhood and had all my eats and everything. And\r\n\r\n5:37  \r\nyeah, this is a small hotel room. So I mean, like I said, just a couple. Just a couple. And they have room service. They had all that so it was cool.\r\n\r\n5:51  \r\nOkay, Friday night kind of guy. Wow.\r\n\r\n5:54  \r\nIt was real interesting. But\r\n\r\n6:00  \r\nme remember the dying everybody slips right\r\n\r\n6:04  \r\nevery every living thing on this earth\r\n\r\n6:08  \r\nso I didn't mind it in plus I can pretty much sleep through a lot of shit so after being out all day and and most most of the night like I just I just wanted to sleep so that's what I did so\r\n\r\n6:23  \r\nso yeah no it wasn't bad at all i would i would stay there again and I would recommend it actually is there is no you can't have children there because like I said there's a sixth tale so that makes perfect sense\r\n\r\n6:38  \r\nthere's a restaurant that was right across the street and they have really good really good seafood really good seafood that has some good coconut shrimp and my my friend had\r\n\r\n6:48  \r\na good good ass bowl of soup in and some outfit was the VJE no wrong. But they said this he was on point so\r\n\r\n6:58  \r\nso yeah\r\n\r\n7:00  \r\nI went for a day of the dead\r\n\r\n7:05  \r\nfor the brain, which I missed last year and cried like real tears because like I had so much fun. The first year in 2017 this year it was ridiculously cold.\r\n\r\n7:17  \r\nWhich is funny because in 2017, we're in tank tops and burning up. This weather is abnormal. And so, but I got my face painted, you could check out my pictures on my\r\n\r\n7:30  \r\non my Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, my blog, and then\r\n\r\n7:36  \r\nyeah, that's it and I need to post that I need to post the video because I actually have my, my full get up on with my face. I'll post that.\r\n\r\n7:44  \r\nMaybe sometime this week, or maybe next week when I'm lazy.\r\n\r\n7:51  \r\nAnd yeah, I stayed in Mexico City for three days and\r\n\r\n7:57  \r\nhad a time of my life. I do it.\r\n\r\n8:00  \r\nI didn't want to leave really but I had to leave because I got shit to do back home of course, and it was cold. So I'm like I want to\r\n\r\n8:09  \r\nreally go back to the warmth. As much as I complain about this damn heat here married like I was so ready to go back to the heat\r\n\r\n8:17  \r\nbecause Mexico City does not have heat. They don't have a sea. So\r\n\r\n8:25  \r\nif it gets if it gets down in a certain temperature you're suffering and if it gets too hot temperature you're suffering it don't last long and don't last long because literally\r\n\r\n8:39  \r\ntwo days there I was, you know in my in my I had thermals on and shit because I know I you know, coming from 90 to in the 50s that's a flat 40 degree drop at least. So I'm like, I need thermal sleep.\r\n\r\n8:56  \r\nAnd I burnt my ass up\r\n\r\n8:58  \r\nand so but the last\r\n\r\n9:00  \r\nDay of the of my world not my last day but the day of the parade. It was raining and cold. We were like, let's go. So.\r\n\r\n9:10  \r\nSo yeah.\r\n\r\n9:13  \r\nBut we have fun. I have fun. I still want to go back to Mexico City. I've been looking at apartments. I found one that was the same price of where I live now. And it's it right by my own neighborhood, right? It's like one street over and I'm just like, I need to go I need to go but\r\n\r\n9:36  \r\nmy time ain't done here yet. So\r\n\r\n9:40  \r\nsoon soon And plus, I don't want to be in the cold. Yeah. So so maybe\r\n\r\n9:46  \r\nmaybe during the spring or summer next year, for sure, for sure. Um,\r\n\r\n9:52  \r\noh, and so on my way back. I got into a fight\r\n\r\n9:59  \r\nso you know\r\n\r\n10:00  \r\nHow to airport gets crowded and don't be no chairs right but you want to stay by your gate pose your flight It's already late and you don't know when he goes start boarding and you might get left so you want to sit in your gate area right so bitch thought she was gonna say we'll see where her little funky ass pairs and I'm like she had a sitting on the age so I like isolate my little bony ass in there right you know oh me and she got mad and I'm like very no say no see she should have been here you know what I'm saying like this whole area is packed you got me all the way fucked up\r\n\r\n10:38  \r\nand so she's trying to talk shit and on my on here all day Shut the fuck up\r\n\r\n10:45  \r\nand I just basically ignored her and she and I told her she should have been here like I know saving those things when the shit crowded. That's not how that works. So you know she shut up and she and the actually a seat on the side of me. I'm a\r\n\r\n11:00  \r\nside of me opened up and the friend was nowhere to be found. So I'm like, okay, we'll shoot the baseline obviously, she was they want me sitting there, you know, black, whatever. So\r\n\r\n11:13  \r\nthe friend comes over and scooters her ass on me. I'm like the fuck is this big stone and a bit huge, you know, because they're Mexican. And I actually thought they were white because they the girl spoke very good English, very good English, but I forget where I live. Marita is a very upper class area of Mexico.\r\n\r\n11:37  \r\nThey have huge mansions here like 810 bedrooms. And you can look at another video that I've done of.\r\n\r\n11:44  \r\nI think the house is going for like half a million dollars or something like that.\r\n\r\n11:49  \r\nAnd it's huge, huge. The backyard is huge.\r\n\r\n11:55  \r\nAnd so that would be like a typical, I won't say a typical mansion.\r\n\r\n12:00  \r\nhere but because I don't think that one had eight to 10 bedrooms, but there are actually houses here that have eight to 10 bedrooms and in the neighborhood I live in is really, really a ritzy part of America. And\r\n\r\n12:15  \r\nyou know I walk my neighborhood I'm just like, He's huge ass damn house is like these are mansions in the state, you know what I'm saying? But this is like a typical house here. And people actually are living in this ship. So\r\n\r\n12:30  \r\nall that to say, you know, her parents probably, you know, come from old money. A lot of them are white, they are actually white. So she actually might have been white. I've met people with Italian and passports from Spain here and they're white, but you know.\r\n\r\n12:49  \r\nAnd so they send their children to Canada, the United States to you know, get a better education and to learn English. So I would have never thought she was missing. She didn't have no access to\r\n\r\n13:00  \r\nspoke she spoke damn good English you know better English than I do.\r\n\r\n13:09  \r\nSo her fat ass I'm thinking it was her mom oh no why she say a friend because I thought it was her mama Lisa look like a damn Mama Mama y and all outside, you know, typical Mexican body. Um, and she tried to talk shit, you know? And I pushed her. I pushed her up off me and she was a Hey, you know don't talk shit and I'm going to ask me where I come from and I come to her country and my bitch by nobody got time for a bushy to talk them out.\r\n\r\n13:40  \r\nYou got the game?\r\n\r\n13:41  \r\nSo\r\n\r\n13:44  \r\nI'm busy child call me Uh, what are you a table dancer? is a table dancer bitch. Like\r\n\r\n13:52  \r\nwhat is the table dancer? Yeah, let me know what a terrible dancer he is in the comments. Okay. Oh, you know what that is and\r\n\r\n14:00  \r\nMust be a bad thing Hey table don't table dance with make a lot of money and she didn't want to get the ball and make a lot of money. So you know,\r\n\r\n14:10  \r\nsince I'm so bony you know a lot of the Mexican women\r\n\r\n14:15  \r\nlook at me funny like I've literally had them look me up and down and stuff. And because they have Uber's I call it football time\r\n\r\n14:24  \r\nbecause they will we have three four or five flute players and and so\r\n\r\n14:30  \r\nyeah, she called me a table dancer. I'm like okay, yeah, you can push away from the, from the table. Are you like your coke? coca Coke is a thing. And I've literally learned that they do not eat salad. I mean salad is not a big thing here in Mexico. It's not a big thing here in Mexico. There is a part that where they eat salad like that. I don't know nothing about it.\r\n\r\n14:55  \r\nBecause I've traveled around I've lived in two different cities. I know people they live in other\r\n\r\n15:00  \r\nAreas of Mexico salad anything\r\n\r\n15:03  \r\neven though they sell all the fruits and vegetables in the store, so, I don't know. But again, Coke is a huge thing here and they have pastry. At least when I lived in Mexico City, a pastry store was on every damn corner. Every corner you can you can walk three blocks without having a damn pastry store. So\r\n\r\n15:24  \r\nI mean, you know diet definitely plays a huge part definitely plays a huge part. You know, it's funny because if I see when that's thin\r\n\r\n15:34  \r\nI do a double take I'm like, oh my god is like she Mexican.\r\n\r\n15:40  \r\nAnd I'm sure genetics play a part in it, you know, but\r\n\r\n15:45  \r\nI mean, I can't I can't help them tall and skinny. Just like you think hell did you get a fast food was so.\r\n\r\n15:55  \r\nSo yeah.\r\n\r\n15:57  \r\nShe wants to fool with me after I say what I say\r\n\r\n16:00  \r\nAnd I ignored the fuck out of her she probably thought I was crazy because I was gonna raise up in Coachella her ass and the throat she would be so nice to me and so that was the end of that the dude actually across from me got about the seat top my head well no problems and gave her FedEx a damn seat\r\n\r\n16:19  \r\nso\r\n\r\n16:21  \r\nand she was still trying to talk shit after that I my bit Your problem is fall Shut the fuck up\r\n\r\n16:28  \r\nShut the fuck up. So I'm just I'm doing what I do in my phone will read an issue until my telling my sister my friends What's happening? And they like\r\n\r\n16:41  \r\nthis crazy but I'm crazier so she she won't these problems um\r\n\r\n16:50  \r\nso yeah.\r\n\r\n16:52  \r\nMy first fight in Mexico I guess my first my literally my first probably bad serious problem here in Mexico. I always say I don't be having problems.\r\n\r\n17:00  \r\nmonths ago, but these these these white Mexicans is the fucking problem. They don't want to get the damn issues because they wait. I mean should they got issues\r\n\r\n17:11  \r\nso\r\n\r\n17:12  \r\nWhoa, well\r\n\r\n17:15  \r\nlet me see anything else\r\n\r\n17:19  \r\nman now I just been chillin\r\n\r\n17:25  \r\nlike I said, I'm still in school taking my Spanish classes still working on my business stuff.\r\n\r\n17:32  \r\nI actually did a pitch today. And it was funny because\r\n\r\n17:38  \r\nI love I love that, you know, I'm doing my thing and I don't have to necessarily please anyone. And so\r\n\r\n17:50  \r\nthat's how I talk and I mean like my personality is it is such a wonderful thing. And it's funny because I told him\r\n\r\n18:00  \r\nHe asked me if there was any more questions and my food is in here leaving I put some eggs on the boil. He asked me if there was any more questions and I was like nah I've done a couple of pitches before\r\n\r\n18:14  \r\nsorting them but thing for me and at this point is like as you go through when we are not\r\n\r\n18:21  \r\nlaughing like shit is the truth like I gotta be sorry sugar coating shit\r\n\r\n18:28  \r\nyou know, cuz I literally show up in meetings like you know, my little fashion little dresses on with a cute then the case they should to me this is my shit. You know what I'm saying? Okay, you say nine to me. They're gonna fuck with me. Are you not? So\r\n\r\n19:18  \r\ncuz my layout was horrible, I'm paying, I'm paying somebody on Fiverr to get that all together as rookie, rookie, I like it. Keep it simple. So, get the book, get the book. An accelerator that works with Google wants to help me get my business investor-ready and get me in front of investors? It sounds like a dream come true! Or at least I thought…</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">I did hours of research on Manos Accelerator. Everything seemed accurate and truthful. Numerous people on their <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https://www.facebook.com/ManosAccelerator/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"https://www.facebook.com/ManosAccelerator/\">Facebook</a>, <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https://twitter.com/ManosAccel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"https://twitter.com/ManosAccel\">Twitter</a>, <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https://www.producthunt.com/posts/manos-accelerator-podcast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"https://www.producthunt.com/posts/manos-accelerator-podcast\">Producthunt</a> pages gave positive reviews, great articles were written on them, they were holding events with Google…I didn’t find anything bad or untruthful about Manos Accelerator.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">So, I paid the $3,000 fee in February 2019.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">Everything started off fine, but then she started being late and missing our phone meetings. I would have to email her and remind her of our phone meetings.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">She would tell me about pitch events coming up in the Bay area but never send me anything official so I can go to them. No links, no flyers, NOTHING. All I received were dates as if I’m supposed to show up going off of dates only with no other information.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">I have repeatedly sent her emails about the affiliation she claimed she has with Cloudways. It wasn’t until I asked for a refund is when I got my answer.</p>\r\n\r\n<h1 class=\"graf graf--p\">The big one…</h1>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">She sent me a list of potential investors and had me choose a few of them. She told me she would get in contact with them and set up pitch meetings for me. I waited a few weeks thinking she would eventually get back in contact with me, but she never did. I had to get back in contact with her. She told me she FORGOT about me. I asked her about the investor meetings and she claimed none of them were accepting new startups. Well, why would you have me wasting my time choosing potential investors? She then told me about the investors she had ready for me. I waited a few more weeks. No response again.</p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure graf--layoutOutsetCenter\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">Emailed her after waiting for over a month for a response about meeting with potential investors. Multiple emails about the Cloudways Startup program. The nonprofit was suspended by the Internal Revenue Service. Her program LOOKED and SOUNDED wonderful. Manos Accelerator supposedly has an affiliation with Google Launchpad which was icing on the cake. An accelerator that works with Google wants to help me get my business investor-ready and get me in front of investors? It sounds like a dream come true! Or at least I thought…</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">I did hours of research on Manos Accelerator. Everything seemed accurate and truthful. Numerous people on their <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https://www.facebook.com/ManosAccelerator/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"https://www.facebook.com/ManosAccelerator/\">Facebook</a>, <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https://twitter.com/ManosAccel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"https://twitter.com/ManosAccel\">Twitter</a>, <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https://www.producthunt.com/posts/manos-accelerator-podcast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"https://www.producthunt.com/posts/manos-accelerator-podcast\">Producthunt</a> pages gave positive reviews, great articles were written on them, they were holding events with Google…I didn’t find anything bad or untruthful about Manos Accelerator.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">So, I paid the $3,000 fee in February 2019.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">Everything started off fine, but then she started being late and missing our phone meetings. I would have to email her and remind her of our phone meetings.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">She would tell me about pitch events coming up in the Bay area but never send me anything official so I can go to them. No links, no flyers, NOTHING. All I received were dates as if I’m supposed to show up going off of dates only with no other information.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">I have repeatedly sent her emails about the affiliation she claimed she has with Cloudways. It wasn’t until I asked for a refund is when I got my answer.</p>\r\n\r\n<h1 class=\"graf graf--p\">The big one…</h1>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">She sent me a list of potential investors and had me choose a few of them. She told me she would get in contact with them and set up pitch meetings for me. I waited a few weeks thinking she would eventually get back in contact with me, but she never did. I had to get back in contact with her. She told me she FORGOT about me. I asked her about the investor meetings and she claimed none of them were accepting new startups. Well, why would you have me wasting my time choosing potential investors? She then told me about the investors she had ready for me. I waited a few more weeks. No response again.</p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure graf--layoutOutsetCenter\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">Emailed her after waiting for over a month for a response about meeting with potential investors. Multiple emails about the Cloudways Startup program. I never heard anything more about the pitch contest in the Bay area.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure graf--layoutOutsetCenter\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">Her response…she forgot about me.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">At this point, I’m livid because it’s now August (we started in February) and nothing promised to me has been done. I asked for a full refund of my $3,000 because she has done nothing for me and made numerous promises she could not keep. I gave her a week to give it to me. She promised to return my $3,000. But I have yet to receive the $3,000…that was on 09/22/2019.</p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">The email where I listed out all the reasons on why I want my refund.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">The email where she’s apologizing and giving a bunch of excuses (again) and said yes to giving me a refund.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">It’s past the one week period for my refund. She never responded to this email.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">I had to ask again a few days later.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">Her response is unacceptable. She never got back to me either.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">Everything I stated here is in writing between her and I.</p>\r\n\r\n<h1 class=\"graf graf--p\">Even juicer information…</h1>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">After I asked for a refund THREE times, she had the nerve to send me information claiming there is a $25k grant for women of color and she would give it to me. I guess as “hush money”. No, Sylvia Flores…I want my $3,000 returned immediately.</p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">The bribe after I asked for a refund 3 times.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">The invoice she sent to me in order to pay says the company is a nonprofit. The nonprofit was suspended by the Internal Revenue Service. She should not be doing business nor receiving any grant funds.</p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure graf--layoutOutsetRow is-partialWidth\"></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure graf--layoutOutsetRowContinue is-partialWidth\"><figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">The invoice she sent me to pay. I suppose the government is defaming her too because everything I've written I received from the Internal Revenue Service and the California Secretary of State.\r\n\r\n</figcaption></figure>\r\n<h1></h1>\r\n<h1 class=\"graf graf--p\">Sigh…</h1>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">As a fellow woman, as a fellow minority, as a fellow startup…I am just devastated. I also want to warn others about her and her company before they get scammed too. She also shouldn’t be doing business because she’s not even a legal business nor nonprofit.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">I will be taking her to court soon. Her program LOOKED and SOUNDED wonderful. Manos Accelerator supposedly has an affiliation with Google Launchpad which was icing on the cake. An accelerator that works with Google wants to help me get my business investor-ready and get me in front of investors? It sounds like a dream come true! Or at least I thought…</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">I did hours of research on Manos Accelerator. Everything seemed accurate and truthful. Numerous people on their <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https://www.facebook.com/ManosAccelerator/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"https://www.facebook.com/ManosAccelerator/\">Facebook</a>, <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https://twitter.com/ManosAccel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"https://twitter.com/ManosAccel\">Twitter</a>, <a class=\"markup--anchor markup--p-anchor\" href=\"https://www.producthunt.com/posts/manos-accelerator-podcast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-href=\"https://www.producthunt.com/posts/manos-accelerator-podcast\">Producthunt</a> pages gave positive reviews, great articles were written on them, they were holding events with Google…I didn’t find anything bad or untruthful about Manos Accelerator.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">So, I paid the $3,000 fee in February 2019.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">Everything started off fine, but then she started being late and missing our phone meetings. I would have to email her and remind her of our phone meetings.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">She would tell me about pitch events coming up in the Bay area but never send me anything official so I can go to them. No links, no flyers, NOTHING. All I received were dates as if I’m supposed to show up going off of dates only with no other information.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">I have repeatedly sent her emails about the affiliation she claimed she has with Cloudways. It wasn’t until I asked for a refund is when I got my answer.</p>\r\n\r\n<h1 class=\"graf graf--p\">The big one…</h1>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">She sent me a list of potential investors and had me choose a few of them. She told me she would get in contact with them and set up pitch meetings for me. I waited a few weeks thinking she would eventually get back in contact with me, but she never did. I had to get back in contact with her. She told me she FORGOT about me. I asked her about the investor meetings and she claimed none of them were accepting new startups. Well, why would you have me wasting my time choosing potential investors? She then told me about the investors she had ready for me. I waited a few more weeks. No response again.</p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure graf--layoutOutsetCenter\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">Emailed her after waiting for over a month for a response about meeting with potential investors. Multiple emails about the Cloudways Startup program. I never heard anything more about the pitch contest in the Bay area.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure graf--layoutOutsetCenter\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">Her response…she forgot about me.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">At this point, I’m livid because it’s now August (we started in February) and nothing promised to me has been done. I asked for a full refund of my $3,000 because she has done nothing for me and made numerous promises she could not keep. I gave her a week to give it to me. She promised to return my $3,000. But I have yet to receive the $3,000…that was on 09/22/2019.</p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">The email where I listed out all the reasons on why I want my refund.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">The email where she’s apologizing and giving a bunch of excuses (again) and said yes to giving me a refund.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">It’s past the one week period for my refund. She never responded to this email.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">I had to ask again a few days later.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">Her response is unacceptable. She never got back to me either.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">Everything I stated here is in writing between her and I.</p>\r\n\r\n<h1 class=\"graf graf--p\">Even juicer information…</h1>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">After I asked for a refund THREE times, she had the nerve to send me information claiming there is a $25k grant for women of color and she would give it to me. I guess as “hush money”. No, Sylvia Flores…I want my $3,000 returned immediately.</p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">The bribe after I asked for a refund 3 times.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">The invoice she sent to me in order to pay says the company is a nonprofit. The nonprofit was suspended by the Internal Revenue Service. She should not be doing business nor receiving any grant funds.</p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure graf--layoutOutsetRow is-partialWidth\"></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure graf--layoutOutsetRowContinue is-partialWidth\"><figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">The invoice she sent me to pay. Notice the EIN number used (highlighted).\r\n\r\n</figcaption></figure>\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure graf--startsWithDoubleQuote graf--layoutOutsetRowContinue is-partialWidth\"><figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">“Community Revitalization and Education Agency” is Manos Accelerator as they are using the same EIN number.</figcaption></figure>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">The business has also been suspended by the Franchise Tax Board and should not be operating with employees.</p>\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"graf graf--figure\">\r\n\r\n<figcaption class=\"imageCaption\">Manos Accelerator (Sylvia Flores) was suspended by the Franchise Tax Board.\r\n\r\nShe promised me a refund 10/11/2019 and threatened to report me to the authorities in Mexico and the United States.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nI asked her when I can expect my refund and it's my fourth time asking when I will receive my $3,000 refund.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThen she decides to change her mind immediately and say I'm defaming her. I suppose the government is defaming her too because everything I've written I received from the Internal Revenue Service and the California Secretary of State.\r\n\r\n</figcaption></figure>\r\n<h1></h1>\r\n<h1 class=\"graf graf--p\">Sigh…</h1>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">As a fellow woman, as a fellow minority, as a fellow startup…I am just devastated. I could have used that $3,000 for an accelerator that would have helped me right along with any other essential startup costs.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">I did not want to take it here, but she promised me a refund and I still have yet to receive it (10/13/2019). I also want to warn others about her and her company before they get scammed too. She also shouldn’t be doing business because she’s not even a legal business nor nonprofit.</p>\r\n<p class=\"graf graf--p\">I will be taking her to court soon. I finally figured out the cause after visiting an Otolaryngologist in Mexico. One thing I don't take for granted overseas is the ease of getting healthcare. You can walk in a doctor's office AND especially a specialist...and they will take care of you quickly. I've been here almost three years come November. Why am I here? Well, my mother passed away from blood cancer November 11 2016. And I literally hopped a flight like a week after her funeral. And I've pretty much been here with since I did a little short stint in Guatemala get my Spanish up, but I've been in Mexico. So that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. If you like my context and donations, they are appreciate it. And again, like my channel and\r\n\r\nlike my podcast.\r\n\r\nAnd so this podcast is about me going to see ear nose, throat doctor and you know, the process and the costs and everything. And so, like I said, in my prior podcast, I've been having issues with my ears. And so like painful, painful, I couldn't sleep I had to take painkillers. And so\r\n\r\nthe first time I went to the doctor,\r\n\r\nthey were like, it's a little inflamed. I was like, okay,\r\n\r\nso they gave me some drops,\r\n\r\ndrops burnt the hell out of my damn ears. I had to heal from that. So that's what I was thinking you know, the secondary pain was from is that my ear canal is still healing because the drops burnt my ears is a very strong steroids. And that's a side effect, Bertha ears or whatever you use it on. And so, you know, waited a couple of days. And then I thought it was allergies. So I got nettle leaf, which is a very good anti histamine and histamine. And so I jumped on that for a couple of days no no results. So I seen the doctor again a regular doctor. And she's like, maybe you need to go see your nose, throat doctor because I see nothing wrong with you my bullshit. That's true, some wrong with me. Like I'm having pain, severe pain, what are you talking about looking there again. So I waited a couple of days, like I said, drinking my no leave team. And so\r\n\r\nI found that ear, nose and\r\n\r\nthroat doctor on Google Maps\r\n\r\nat all places, you know, because you can review people on Google Maps. So I found one and went over there. It's like this huge medical complex with all kinds of specialists and everything in it. So I know where to go now if I need, you know, something else. And so just to give into the process on how it works in the United States, since you know, that's where I'm from, that's pretty much the only other process I know outside of Mexico, I would have to see my primary care doctor my regular doctor first. And that might not be a quick appointment, they can probably give me in the same day or the next day or a couple days after\r\n\r\nthat\r\n\r\ndepends on how urgent your your symptoms are, right. And then if the doctor can find anything, you know, and they're telling you there's nothing wrong, they might might refer you to a specialist. So in my case, I've been here knows. So doctor, right. So specialists in the States, usually our book months out, only way you can really get to see one is if it's like a complete emergency, or a cancellation, EI literally called like, you know, once every couple of days and see if there's cancellation for a specialist doctor. Just just crazy, right? And you would have to get approval from your insurance company, right? So just because you can go see the doctor doesn't mean that the insurance company will pay for it. So you can end up with a denial and you know, thousands of dollars. So, to put that in comparison to Mexico, like I said, I found my doctor on Google Maps.\r\n\r\nAnd I went over there\r\n\r\nwithout an appointment. I thought about making an appointment. I just want to see you know, I just want to see how it is. See how long I wait and everything for him to see me. And so the initial doctor I was supposed to go see he wasn't there. I guess he was on vacation. And so there was two other doctor exactly the scene. So I just walked\r\n\r\ndown the hallway\r\n\r\nand saw the next one.\r\n\r\nAnd so you know, I'm talking to a lady a Spanish like I need, you know, an appointment. My ears been hurt me for about two weeks now. And there has been no changes on everything I've done. I don't know what to do. And she's all like, okay, the doctor doesn't really know English, but we will work with you. I'm like, Whoa, cuz I understand a lot, you know, but I, my speaking is like, still, it's okay. I'm getting here.\r\n\r\nPractice it every day. And so\r\n\r\nI wait you know, fill out the paperwork with my name and everything and I'm waiting maybe about 20 minutes\r\n\r\nor so. Now\r\n\r\nwhen I go to the doctor are you when I used to go to the doctor in the states I could have an appointment is still waiting around for half an hour to an hour for the doctor right? Oh times you know, appointments go over because in America, they only have 10 to 15 minutes spots. And that's just not enough time usually. So appointments run over so you can literally sit there for you know, 15 to another hour hour and a half for your appointment because I've been there done that before. So like I said, I sat there for maybe 20 minutes at the most and you know, I saw the people going through being you know, taken care of and everything and so he calls me back there and he's like well, I don't see anything you know, there's there's nothing wrong with you. And so he's you know, pressing on my jaw and stuff. He's like, well, Does this hurt? Does your neck hurt and stuff? No, it's like he had a hurts like hell like it was hurting so bad in my neck. And so that's what I kind of figured it was because I you know, to stay, to stay mentally mentally sane. I go get a massage every week. helps with my entrepreneurship goals and everything else that I do. So I will that's in my budget every week I massage. So when I get my massage, you know she would press on my neck and it hurts so bad. So that's what I figured it was because it's on this side and you know, all this shit in here is connected. So he was like, Yeah, he just need to take some muscle relaxers. I'm like, bro, are you serious right now? I'm thinking I'm about to die I got him somewhere on my brain because it was hurting all in here. I was hurting in here just just hurt. So he prescribed me you know pain killer some some aspirin I think it was and I must relax already got muscle relaxers in here from my from my teeth. But I have a lot of issues with my jaw and stuff. And my neck was my two pain points. So I've been taking the muscle relaxers for three days now and no more ear pain. no muss, no muss, no more pain. So the cost of the appointment was 800 pesos is like, like $35 I think it is 3730. Now how much would it have been to see a specialist without insurance in the States? And all right, lindo can even tell you to see how much your nose doctor would be probably $500\r\n\r\nprobably $500.\r\n\r\nAnd I was kind of mad to even pay 100 pesos because all he did was press on my neck. I mean, he did look at my ear and stuff and he was like, you just need some muscle relaxers. I'm like bro can give me some medicine because the soccer makes make sure it's worth it. Just give me some kind of I always my time and my money over here and stuff. So I have to submit that for reimbursement to to the travel insurance company that I use here.\r\n\r\nShout out\r\n\r\nto Seven Corners because\r\n\r\nthey they are they're good. They reimburse me. I'll put my link in the comments. If you're looking for travel insurance health insurance overseas to their good company\r\n\r\nI shall say good enough. I took a cooking class at a Korean restaurant here. This dish is called Tteokbokki. I didn't like it. It was \"garbage food\" as I like to call it...nothing that's filling or with nutritional value. The old Mexican lady asked me if I wanted anymore and I told her No!...she brought herself tupperware to pack the leftovers away.
