After all, it's no secret that Mexico is among the top ten criminal countries of the world. However, there is only one shop, where locals can legally buy weapons! Most of the firearms are illegally imported from the United States.\n\n2 Mexico City International Airport has very funny and weird baggage control system - Wheel of Fortune called \"The traffic light lottery \". You press on the button, if the green light turns on – Welcome to the Mexico city!, if the red one turns - be ready  for thorough examination  of your bags. We got Lucky)\n\n3 Mexico is the most \"working\" country in the world - the average citizen works 2,446 hours a year or 43.2 hours a week. Only Costa Rica, South Korea, Greece and Chile can compete with it in that matter. \n\n 4 One of the national symbols of the country is a female skeleton, dressed in an elegant dress with a hat, which can be seen near cafes and restaurants, on advertising posters, illustrations and souvenirs. Her image was first created by the artist Guadalupe Posada. Later, his student Diego Rivera (Frida Kahlo lover) created his interpretation and gave her name La Katrina. Initially, the artist depicted the image of a woman who was ashamed of her Latin origins, that was dressing in French manners and trying to make her skin lighter with tons of makeup. However, 90% of the population speaks Mexican Spanish, and less than 10% are native speakers of the pre-colonial period. Despite the fact, that English is the second popular language, we found complete . International English is not in vogue there, even at the in a hotel in the center of the Mexico city, and my poor knowledge of Spanish helped me, perhaps, only to understand the inscriptions on the doors of the toilet.\n\n6 Mexico City is built on the lake and is constantly sinking. Over the past 100 years, the city has fallen by 9 meters, because of the fast-growing population is constantly pumping lake water.\nDespite the fact that building a big city literally on the water is not the easiest solution, there is a logical explanation for this. For 200 years the Aztecs wandered before the prediction came true, then they built the city on the place of the present capital. Apparently, for the same reason, the Mexican city of Torreon, imposed fines on shaving an electric razor while driving. :) Despite the heat at 30 °, men wear strict formal suits. My boyfriend was born in Yalta, so we regularly go to see his family and enjoy the beauty of the peninsula at the same time.\n\nIn the spring of the following year, we decided to take to a small one-day hike to the mount Demerdzhi.\n\nIf you've ever traveled by car from Simferopol to Yalta, you probably saw a huge mountain range to the left side of the road. This area is pretty much known as location for several Soviet movies; there is also the famous stone \"Catherine's Head\", named after russian empress Catherine the Great, and, of course, the mysterious Valley of the Ghosts.\n\nThe name \"Demerdzhi\" is translated from the Crimean Tatar language as \"smith\". Scientists say that these are the oldest rocks in the Crimea, whose composition is absolutely unique. There is the only place, where you can find red granite, that age more than 1 billion years! Under the influence of water reacting with carbon dioxide plus constant winds, unusual stone sculptures were formed, that is called the \"The Valley of Ghosts\" - a place, enveloped in myths and legends.\n\nAccording to the legend, in ancient times barbarian tribes came to these lands, which burned and destroyed everything that came in their way.. When they saw the mountain range, hidden in a haze, they decided to build a huge smithy at the top, where swords for their troops were forged. They burned all the nearby villages, killed women and children, and took men into slavery. From the unbearable heat of the mountain, all rivers and springs dried up, everything alive around died. Once, a brave girl Maria went to the main villain and called upon him to have mercy and leave the earth. However, the smith only laughed and wanted to take her into slavery too. She did not obey, so he killed her. The mountain could not stand such cruelty, the earth shook and flames spewed out, that swallowed up the enemy tribe. That's how these huge stone idols appeared...\n\nIt is said that if you spent the night in the valley, you would see warriors leaving their tombs at dawn and even heard their screams.\n\nSpecialists in paranormal phenomena claim that the summit of the mountain is a real anomalous zone, exuding a powerful flow of energy.\n\nBelieve it or not - everyone's business. As for us , to get some fresh air and see stunning views from the top were our main goals. Nothing foretold troubles. Early in the morning, we took a bus from Yalta, drank a bottle of our favorite Massandra wine, and got off the bus stop at the Raduzhnoye village.\n\nWhen we started to climb, the weather began getting rough. Of course, we did not abandon our idea and carelessly continued to walk. But we understood, that there was no return way, and we had to move on. Then, funny idea struck us- we made improvised umbrellas from huge mugs. Of course, trying to make a fire from wet branches under heavy rain - the idea is quite absurd. In addition, we were already thoroughly wet and risked not to back home till darkness. It's also called Ukrainian dead sea, because the salt concentration reaches 88%. Great thing for those who want to learn to ride, but not dare yet. He hates staying at home at home, that's why he traveled all over Crimea and half of Ukraine. The huge \"hall\" at the entrance is divided into many passageways, that compose big underground labyrinth. The web of catacombs stretches for tens of kilometers under the ground and is called The Ak-Monaic quarries.\n\n![IMG_0980.JPG](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQamZjCPEnag29kEoqujchWSDPFyFxasysJzt8numJ6dG/IMG_0980.JPG)\n\nLittle is known about the exact origin of this place, but there is a theory that they appeared during the rule of Empress Catherine, and were a place for exile soldiers. The convicts mined a stone, and soon Ak-Monai settlement appeared. There was no further light, only the phone flashlight. The road went down and the passage became all narrower. At some point, I felt ill at ease. After 5 minutes we reached the destination - a small stone \"room\" with a well inside. \"Can you feel ear popping? Of course, going to that kind of expedition you should be prepared, and since we did not have anything with us except our phones, we decided not to go deep inside. In addition, those who worked in the quarries died there, and buried there.
