      "body": "IGP IDRIS GETS BUHARI’S NOD TO ARREST SARAKI OVER MURDERS IN KWARA\n\n![FB_IMG_1528082243186.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmZVdBd3XtsBuM5wEHRjXkpUdT9wBzYg25GQtbkYAWMZLa/FB_IMG_1528082243186.jpg)\n\n\n-Premium Times reports\n\nPresident Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said he had no objections to any plan by the police to arrest Senate President Bukola Saraki over a string of murder cases in Kwara State, PREMIUM TIMES has learnt.\n\nThe president received Inspector-General Ibrahim Idris at the State House on Friday afternoon, during which he was told of at least 20 murders allegedly linked to Mr Saraki in his home state, according to multiple sources briefed of the meeting.\n\nSources said the police chief arrived at the State House with a cornucopia of homicide investigation documents relating to Mr Saraki. The top lawmaker could be arrested any day from now following the president’s position that the law should run its course insofar as detectives have sufficient facts to file charges.\n\nAlready, the police have declared Mr Saraki a person of interest in the deadly robbery incident in Offa, the second-largest settlement in Kwara State. The police said at least 17 persons, including nine police officers, were killed and five banks raided in the April 5 attack.\n\nThe police said the death toll from the robbery has risen steadily to 33 as at last week. Twenty 22 suspects, including a dismissed police sergeant, have been announced arrested.\n\nMr Saraki was amongst the first set of leaders to condemn the attack and called for a sweeping investigation and prosecution of all suspects.\n\nIn a statement on Sunday, police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood, said at least five of the suspects arrested in the robbery “admitted and confessed to have been sponsored with firearms, money and operational vehicles” by Mr Saraki and Abdulfatah Ahmed, the state governor.\n\nWhile parading the suspects on Sunday afternoon, Mr Moshood identified one of them as Ayoade Akinnibosun, a 37 years old resident of the state and the ‘overall’ leader of the armed gang. His vehicle was allegedly one of those used in the robbery. A number plate allegedly registered in Mr Akinnibosun’s name superimposed on a sticker number plate which had ‘SARAKI’ boldly written on it.\n\nAmongst top Kwara government officials named in the robbery were Yusuf Abdulwahab, the chief of staff to the governor, and the environment commissioner.\n\nThe police said Mr Abdulwahab, 58, had been taken into custody, but it was not immediately clear whether it was in connection to the robbery. Some local news reports out of Kwara said Mr Abdulwahab was arrested on fraud charges unrelated to the robbery two days ago.\n\n \nMr Sakari has been asked to turn himself in at the police intelligence department in Guzape, Abuja. No date was specified for the summon. The Senate President could be arrested if he fails to turn himself in as demanded by the police, especially as he enjoys no immunity from prosecution.\n\nBut Mr Ahmed, whose position as governor accords him absolute immunity from criminal charges, has denied the police claims against him.\n\nIn a statement to PREMIUM TIMES Monday afternoon, Mr Ahmed said the police allegation that he armed and funded suspects for political thuggery or for any other activity was “false and unfounded.”\n\nThe governor said he had never been involved in or encouraged “thuggery or any other form of criminality.” He said the state government provided funds for youth in the state for small businesses; but neither him nor the state government should be held responsible for how the youth use such funds.\n\nOn his part, it was not immediately clear whether the Senate President will honour the invitation. His spokesperson, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Sunday afternoon did not return PREMIUM TIMES telephone calls and text messages seeking comments about the police invitation and Mr Buhari’s approval.\n\nPresidential spokespersons, Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu, did not return multiple requests for comments. Neither did Mr Moshood answer enquiries about Mr Idris’ visit to the State House and the invitation to Mr Saraki.\n\nThe disclosure that Mr Saraki had been implicated in murder cases comes three weeks after an open confrontation played out between the police and the top lawmaker.\n\nBut the confrontation was over separate criminal suspects arrested in connection to multiple gang killings the state over the past two years. The police abruptly moved the suspects to Abuja after the were arrested in Kwara and charges were being prepared against them over there.\n\nOn May 16, the day the police transferred the suspects, Mr Saraki alerted the nation of an alleged plan by Mr Idris and his police team to implicate him in criminal matters.\n\nThe top lawmaker told the Senate plenary that Mr Ahmed informed him the suspects were being transferred to Abuja to ease the alleged sinister plot by the police.\n\n \nThe police fiercely rejected the claim in a statement the same day, reprimanding Mr Saraki for his conduct and warning to desist from compromising an ongoing criminal investigation.\n\nJudicial authorities in Kwara asked the police to return the suspects to the state for trial because their charges had already been prepared, a demand that hit a brick wall with the police.\n\nThere were initial reports that the suspects, some of whom PREMIUM TIMES later found were suspected cultists, confessed they were sponsored by Mr Saraki, but the Kwara government swiftly debunked the claims, insisting that the suspects did not indict anyone.\n\nNeither the 22 suspects arrested in the Offa robbery nor the murder suspects in cultist clashes have been charged to court. The police earlier stated that they would charge all the suspects upon conclusion of preliminary investigations.\n\nIt was not immediately clear how the police arrived at the 20 murders reportedly linked to Mr Saraki when they confirmed 33 deaths in the Offa robbery incident alone. But his arrest, notwithstanding the severity, could prove politically toxic for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), said political analyst, Sola Olubanjo.\n\nWhen Mr Saraki first alleged attempt to frame him up on May 16, the Senate constituted a nine-member emissary to appeal to Mr Buhari to prevail on Mr Idris to relax criminal allegations against the top lawmaker.\nMr Saraki has also been leading a pack of politicians who allege marginalisation within the APC. The politicians, under the so-called nPDP, hold individual grudges, which range from alleged marginalisation over the past three years to their future standing within the ruling party.\n\nLast week, the members met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the State House, but details of their discussion were not immediately disclosed. Mr Buhari was not a part of the meeting, but there was optimism amongst the nPDP members that they would still meet the president.\n\n“You have a ruling party that is facing a general election in less than a year away and its Number One is fighting its Number Three,” Mr Olubanjo said of Mr Buhari and Mr Saraki, who is generally seen as the third most-powerful personality in the country, coming behind the vice president. “The president is putting the party and his own political future in a critical situation.”\n\n“I am not trying to defend criminality,” the analyst said. “But if we are to be objective in analysing how the police have handled this matter, we would see clearly that they have nothing against the Senate leader but only on a mission to destroy him by all means.”\n\nBolaji Abdullahi, the national spokesperson for the APC, did not immediately return PREMIUM TIMES’ calls seeking comments about the political fallout of Mr Saraki’s run-in with federal authorities.\n\nA media consultant for the party who spoke with PREMIUM TIMES said he would not be able to immediately quantify how devastating it would be for the APC if Mr Saraki is arrested.\n\n \n“I would rather tell you that IGP Idris did not make such request to the president on Friday,” said Ayo Akanji, who frequently visits the State House as a media consultant to the administration. “Even if he did, the president did not approve it.”\n\n“Arresting the Senate President could thwart the ongoing reconciliation efforts and that may not be good for the party,” Mr Akanji added.\n\nIf Mr Saraki turns himself in and is charged, it would be another criminal charge since becoming Senate President in June 2015. He had been previously docked at the Code of Conduct Tribunal for false and anticipatory declaration of assets. He was discharged and acquitted on all 18 counts, but the Court of Appeal upheld all but two of the charges and returned them to the tribunal.",

      "body": "**THE PARANORMAL**\n\nWhen I was around 6 or 7 years old, I had an imaginary friend like most kids that age would. We would do everything together. But, when I was 9, I moved and he said he could not come with me. But that another imaginary friend would be waiting for me and he would take care of me. He said that there was a box at the back of my closet I needed to take with me in order to get my new friend. I took the box and when I got to the new house I hid it so my parents wouldn't see it.\n\n\n That night, I got up with a flashlight and went to my closet where I hid the box. I opened it to find a Ouija board. With it was a note that read \"This is how you can get an imaginary friend for LIFE\". It came with instructions so I began to use it. The next thing I knew, a red orb showed up in my room. It was floating around for minute then took shape. It took the form as my great grandfather who recently had passed. For a short time, I believed it was him. But..after a while, I began to realize that this was not my great grandpa. I guess that he could tell that I knew it wasn't who it said it was. So..that's when it began to physically abuse me. Every morning I would wake up with bruises and bite marks all over me. \n\n\nMy parents didn't know what to do so they called a friend of the family (who was a ghost hunter) to come out and see what was going on. While searching the hunters found the Ouija board that I had used. They attempted to burn it but that just made the spirit angry. The spirit then showed it's true form. It was a tall dark figure. It was slim and where it's face was supposed to be, was a swirling mist of darkness. We were able to rid the spirit of the house. But..just a few years ago (I think it was two years ago), Anna (the other admin) and I were on the phone when I say the spirit again. It attacked me. I couldn't breathe or speak or move for a good minute. Then it finally released me and I called out for my parents and they came running into my room.       "body": "There are times I get sad about things, they weigh me down so much that I begin to question certain happenings about life and possibility of things being the way they ought to be, just for the common good and happiness of all. \n\nHeartbreaks from a bad or good relationship could be very depressing but then, the essence of being a good friend to someone but incapable of impacting or supporting the person when and when not in need can be very traumatizing.\n\nI've met people who are better, much better than where they are and who have the capacity to create impacts in the society and even live a beautiful life but things don't just work accordingly. I've also met people whose talents and skills are not appreciated but rather exploited and shared by those in custody of power, these situations get me depressed.\n\nSometimes, especially when I'm financially down, I try to avoid people because I'll definitely be led to a point where I'll be prompted to question my essence in the person's life. It gets so depressing when you actually wish for a dream to be actualized but there are dearths of abilities and opportunities. Worst is when you're not believed when you say the truth of not having the ability to help.\n\nMany times do I sit and hope that God sends help to people who are in dire need of it if I can't help out, just to be relieved of depression and to see people happy. Maybe I was just created in a way that another's happiness serves as my happiness but this is one tenet I hold on to tenaciously.\n\nAmidst my series of prayer points, I sincerely pray that God places people with empathy on seats of power and abundance because I believe they understand better how it feels to be in lack. to walk into marriage for the right reasons and stop women subjugation that suffocates our women, our men have become so abusive and disrespectful to our women.\n.\nTeach them morals and the values of a woman, counsel them to love and respect their wives, teach them that they didn't do a woman a favor marrying her.\n.\nTeach our men that bride-price doesn't make a woman a property, that you married a wife and did not acquire a property paying bride-price\n.\nCounsel them that marriage is a Union of two shall become one, partnership and companionship, and not a master and his slave affairs.\n.\nDivorce has become so rampant and a norm in our society today, why because our men have resorted to Spousal Abuse that it becomes life threatening to the woman.\n.\nThe parochial and cultural disparity which led to this wanton menace should be reviewed and corrected for a lasting solution, if not, I see more marriages of young couples breaking down beyond repair.\n.\nOur women are being taught and emotionally blackmailed to endure and remain in an abusive marriage even when their lives are at stake with the phrase that, 'God hates divorce\" and many have lost their lives in the process which at the end of the day, the man ends up remarrying.\n\nTeach our men/women that marriage is not a do or die affair, that Di aburo ndidi, marriage is not endurance.\n.\nCounsel our young men/women intending to be couples that, Marriage should be enjoyed, not endured,\nMarriage should bring happiness, joy, peace of mind and fulfilment, not unfulfillment, sorrows, unhappiness, lamentations and regrets.\n.\nTeach our men that a woman's place in the home is not in the kitchen as society made us to believe and adopt;\n.\nTeach our men to stop acting like guests in their marriage and become husbands and fathers in their respective homes, and to stop cheating on their wives;\n.\nTeach our men that, home chores is not a woman's sole duty, and doing chores does not make them less a man and is not helping/assisting the woman, but doing it for the family.\n.\nTeach our men that being a husband/father is a very demanding responsibility that must be lived upto, not optional;\nTeach our men that it's both parents job in the upbringing of the kids, and not a woman's sole duty.\n.\nTeach our men to stop punishing their children by abandoning their wellbeing on the wife just to get at her when they have issues whether still together or separated.\n.\nTeach our men to apologise to their wives when they're wrong, it won't reduce the man in them;\nTeach our men that you don't demand respect or submission, that they're entitled to nothing, want it, you earn it.\n.\nTeach our men that being Head is being a Leader, and not a despotic tyrant;\nTeach our men that the man is not superior to the woman, neither is the woman inferior to the man.\n.\nTeach our men that voice of reason should have the final say in decision making in their homes, and stop sidelining encourage and support their wives to keep growing in all ramifications both career wise;\nCounsel our men/women that Domestic Violence is evil irrespective of the spouse it's coming from that when conflicts becomes irreconcilable in their marriage that it becomes life threatening, they should separate to avoid one partner's life being truncated.\n.\nTeach our men that being financially stable I lost my dad when I was eight and the chunk of the stress of life fell on me as the first daughter. \n\nMom and I became like sisters, or even partners doing things together for the common good of the family. There were days I woke by 3am and trekked some two good hours to **Ikot Ekpene** where I hawked fairly used clothes so as to support the family.\n\nI remember one Mr Peter who used to bring me clothes to wear, clothes gotten from his children who no longer needed them and I had to wear them and pass down to my siblings as some inheritance.  Things got that bad indeed,  I remember when the thoughts of going to school came, my Uncle Joe laughed me to stupor saying I could never be a graduate because we were interestingly poor and wretched, even the church rats identified with our situation and called us poor indeed. \n\nI did this as a routine for years,  became a University student,  still did same things just to see myself through school. I have had sex with people I shouldn't have. I have been abused but I didn't do all those for me,  I did them to make sure everyone who followed me were comfortable. \n\n\nYes I may be condemned,  judged and castigated but truth is, no one who wasn't in my shoes should judge me because I alone knew what I passed through. I have suffered as a woman as a child and a human.  I pray I don't suffer again in my marriage. \n\n\nI did everything to make sure my mom's stress was reduced and to make her very happy, but then what happened?  Mom died last year of breast cancer. \nI sadly couldn't help her this time because the financial responsibility became too huge on me. Ohhh how I miss her now. \n\n\nHer funeral will be in a month's time and all I wish from you is your condolences and supports.
