      "body": "I am writing in a language called \"English.\" English comes from a place called \"England.\"\n\nThe terms we are using today come from England. \n\nThere is still a monarch in the United Kingdom which controls most of the English Speaking world. Queen Elizabeth is the monarch over Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and England.\n\nThe Left/Right split in the United States is modeled on the English Parliament.\n\nThe Conservative Party was created in 1830s when King William IV sought to rebrand the Tory Party in the wake of electoral reforms.  Conservatives from the 1830s to this very minute proudly call themselves \"Tories.\" The Tories support the peerage, the monarchy, centralized banking and the Established Church.\n\nIn the language called English which comes from the place called England, the term \"conservative\" is a synonym for \"tory.\" A person who is a conservative is a Tory. \n\nThe \"Liberal Party\" was formed by the Whigs in 1859 after the Potato Famine. Liberals wanted to legalize Catholicism.\n\nLiberals are naive. If Catholics could vote, then the Catholics in Ireland would vote against their Protestant leaders.\n\nLiberals are naive because they believe in dangerous concepts like Freedom of Religion.\n\nThe Liberal Party fell apart. \n\nThe Labour Party was formed in 1900s. The Labour Party favors socialism.\n\nConservatives took to calling members of the Labour Party \"liberals.\" This is why we associate the term \"liberal\" with socialism. \n\nSocialism is an illiberal policy. By calling socialists \"liberal\" conservatives are able to lump  all their enemies into a single pile. Even better since socialism is illiberal; conservatives can heap ridicule on liberals because the strawman that the Conservatives created in their mind holds contradictory ideologies.\n\nThe Conservative Movement in the United States was imported from England in reaction to the Civil Rights Movement.  Leaders in the GOP promoted the use of the term to draw the Dixiecrats out of the Democratic Party and  into the Republican Party.\n\nThe idea that United States should model its politics along the lines of the English Parliament was pushed by people like William Buckley who went to high school in England and later Yale. This is why Buckley had that strange transatlantic accent.\n\nConservatism is also pushed by groups like News Corp which was established by Sir Keith Murdoch. News Corp owns Fox News.\n\nConservatives destroyed our ability to defend liberty. The US Founders and the Party of Lincoln descended from the Whig tradition. By confounding our language, Conservatives destroyed our ability to defend the ideals of the American Experiment in Self Rule.\n\n\nAnyway there is still a monarch.       "body": "The terms left and right came from the French Revolution when there was a king to oppose.  But there is no king to oppose in present day America.  And those labels are still in use.  The conclusion that we can draw from that is that terms continuously evolve after their initial meaning is established.\n\nThat is certainly true for other words.  The original meaning of a liberal was someone who was in favor of less government and more individual freedom.  But today we see the liberal left insisting on restrictions on free speech, using violence to shut down speakers with whom they disagree, seeking to dispense with political enemies by undermining due process, and proudly supporting a political system (i.e. socialism) that rejects any concept of individual rights.\n\nLibertarians are on the spectrum.  If you look at the chart I constructed it will tell you where to find them.  I hope you get some exposure to what they have to say.",

This works to the advantage of the privileged group that controls the manipulation by transferring the wealth of other groups to itself.\n\nSince world central banks cuts the linkage between currencies and gold the manipulation of interest rates has been unfettered.       "body": "I am shocked when the tag extreme or far right wing is applied to certain groups.  In truth, it is anarchists who occupy the extreme right wing of the political spectrum.  \n\nThe difference between those on the right wing of the political spectrum and those on the left has to do with the following questions.\n\n(1) Is government viewed as good / competent or bad / incompetent?\n(2) Should the government use force to achieve its goals?\n\nLeft Wing:\nThose on the left believe government is basically good and that it can competently implement policies to achieve its goals.  Therefore government is justified in using force to achieve its ends.\n\nRight Wing:\nThose on the right believe government is either bad or incompetent.  Government use of force is both immoral and destructive.\n\nThis correct understanding of the political spectrum places anarchists on the extreme right.  They believe that any government is bad and that, if it exists, government should never use force.\n\nLibertarians believe that, while some government is necessary, the role of government must be narrowly defined and its powers strictly limited.  Government force should only be used in cases where an individual or group used deception or unjustified force to violate the rights of others.\n\nRepublicans and Democrats believe in the same things with different emphasis.  Republicans believe in an unlimited warfare state, a limited welfare state, and government imposed traditional values.  Democrats believe in a moderate warfare state, a vast welfare state, and government imposed non-traditional values.  Both groups believe in at least some due process to limit the use of government force.\n\nSocialists and fascists both believe in the police state and unlimited government power over the people.  But they disagree on the narrative of who is good and who is bad.  To socialists the workers and the politicians who supposedly represent them are good.  Business owners are bad.  To fascists those who belong to a given identity group (racial, national, religious,etc) are good and outsiders are bad.  However, both socialists and fascists support unfettered application of government force.\n\nSome people mistakenly label Nazis as extreme right wingers.  This label is incorrect.  Nazis favor big, powerful government that is unlimited in its use of force.       "body": "In recent years, in the press and legislatures of every level, there has been a lot of talk about the opioid crisis.  However, this so called \"crisis\" was made by government.  Further government involvement will only make it worse.\n\nLet me be clear.  The loss of life to drug overdose is a tragedy.  However, in the rush to do something an approach was chosen that makes matters worse.  Let's look at it.\n\nWhile the number of drug related overdoses are increasing the prescriptions for pain medications is decreasing.  Government efforts to cut down on prescriptions by threatening doctors and pharmacies with fines and incarceration has worked.  And this has left many people in legitimate need of pain management without any relief.  At the same time the number of overdoses continues to rise.  Consider the mechanics in a world without government intervention.\n\nYou are in pain.  Perhaps you are using pain drugs responsibly.  Or perhaps you have a problem with addiction.  So you go to your doctor and ask for some pain medication.  Your doctor advises you that he is concerned about your drug use.  He offers you resources such as his assistance and drug rehab treatment.  But you decline his advice and ask him to give you a prescription.  He accommodates you giving you a modest supply of pain meds and instructing you to return to see him in a few weeks.\n\nLet's look at the results.  First, you are under the supervision of your doctor.  So he is watching for any possible dangers such as negative drug interactions.  And he is working to limit the amount of drugs you are taking.   You are getting the drugs from your pharmacist, from a legitimate pharmacy, from a legitimate drug company.  The content, concentration, quality, and quantity of the drugs you are taking are all consistent.  You have access to a wealth of professional resources.  You will be going back to your doctor every so often.  So he can assess your condition and try again to persuade you to quit or seek treatment.\n\nNow let's look at the results of government intervention.  You go to your doctor.  Your case is borderline.  You have legitimate pain.  But the doctor has some concerns.  Since the doctor is scared of being fined or imprisoned he refuses to give you a prescription.  You have the following choices.\n\n(1) Quit immediately (unlikely)\n(2) Seek a substitute (can be more dangerous)\n(3) Buy your drugs from a criminal (most likely)\n\nSo you buy the drugs from a criminal on the street or from a rogue internet site.  Neither puts any limits on your drug use.  Neither offers addiction treatment.  In fact, they try to get you to use more.  And they offer you even more dangerous drugs.  The drugs you get are from criminals.  They may vary in quality, concentration, amount, and so on.  There are no professionals to protect you against negative drug interactions.  And you won't be visiting your doctor anytime soon since you have an alternative supply.  There will be no second or third chance to persuade you to seek treatment for your addiction.\n\nIn effect, government policy merely moves drug users from the care of doctors where there are relatively small number of overdoses to criminals where the dangers are much greater.  It is bad for abusers.  And it is bad for those in legitimate need of pain treatment.\n\nBut that is only the beginning of the problem.  Government policy has hurt abusers and legitimate patients.  But it also hurts innocent bystanders as well.\n\nThe criminals who sell pain drugs cannot go to the police or to the court system when they have disagreements with patients, suppliers, or other drug pushers.  So they settle their disputes with violence.   Since bringing more people and weapons to a fight increases the chances for victory we see the rise of well armed, vicious gangs.  Their violence often spills over injuring and killing innocent victims.\n\nWith gangs we also see the concentration of profits.  When the profits become concentrated they can be used to corrupt police, government, and other institutions.  Good people are disgusted and leave public service and those under the power of the criminal element take their place.  The people become aware of the corruption and lose confidence in and respect for the law.  And society decays.\n\nThe correct public policy is for government to get out of the way.  Give doctors, patients, and interested groups (professional associations, community groups, consumer groups) the liberty to find solutions.  Yes.  Tragically there will still be some overdose deaths.  I doubt there is a perfect solution.
