If your door hinges are on the outside of your home, you should move them to the inside of your home. Having external hinges is an easy way for burglars to allow entry into your home. All they have to do is knock the pins off the hinges.\n\n\nCheck each spring window and door for rotting framing. If you notice any problems, replace them immediately. Burglars can easily strip rotted wood. So this will help them break into your home. Replace any wood that has started to rot with new wood to keep your home safe.\n\nTo reduce the chance of invading your home at night, make sure you have proper lighting. Burglars try to use the darkness as cover to avoid getting caught. Outdoor lighting can make it look like you're at home and make it harder for intruders to sneak out of sight. If you're traveling, try setting a timer to have the lights come on and off at specific times to make it harder for them to tell if you're home.\n\n\nDon't rely solely on snap locks. Snap locks can be easily broken, sometimes with just a credit card. These locks are too fragile. Instead, install a deadbolt lock, which is more difficult for intruders to bypass. However, make sure that the deadbolt cannot be seen by thieves.\n\nIf anywhere around your home is dark, install motion-sensing or infrared light detectors there. They only turn them on when someone is lurking there, so you can save on your electricity bills while blocking anyone who might have it installed in your home. No one robs a well-lit home!\n\nThe internet is your friend when it comes to finding a home security company, so you should use it wisely. Check out various websites and read customer testimonials and details about various packages. Armed with this information, you can make an appointment with the top three companies of your choice so you can compare prices and see specific monitoring and plans.\n\nYou don't have to install an expensive home security system to make yourself feel safer. There are simple alternatives and many ways to stop criminals. If you remember the tips in this article, you'll have an easier time making your home safer and safer for your family.",
